Students' Voluntary Teaching Activities in Science Schools

  • Student members from The University of Tokushima worked voluntarily at the science school for elementary school children and high school students under the support of Japan Science and Technology Agency. The teaching classes for the science school were held in 2010 as follows: (1) Science handicraft class for children on "Wonder in light, sound, temperature and force", (2) Family Science School for children and parents on "Measurement of length, temperature, weight and energy", (3) "Tatara steel making" for high school students, (4) "Wave motion in strings" for high school students. This paper describes how the students prepared the teaching materials and what they obtained from the teaching activities.

  • 본 연구는 지진발생에 따른 국내 외 피해 및 학교시설의 피해사례를 분석하였다. 또한 많은 시간을 학교에서 생활하고 있는 고등학생을 대상으로 지진방재 의식조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 대부분의 학생들이 지진에 대한 위험성은 알고 있으나, 대피방법 및 대피요령에 대한 세부적인 사항의 정보는 미숙하였다. 이러한 의식조사결과를 바탕으로 향후 교육시설의 지진방재대책을 마련하기위한 기초자료를 제시하였다.

고등학교 10학년 과학 '지구의 변동' 단원에서 비유물 활용의 효과 (The Effect of Using Analogies in High School Earth Science Classes)

  • 본 연구는 교과서에 사용된 비유 현황 조사와 이를 바탕으로 한 판구조론 수업에서 비유물 제시자의 차이가 개념 이해도에 미치는 효과에 대해 밝히고자 하였다. 또한 인식설문조사를 실시하여 수업 후, 학생들의 인식변화를 조사하였다. 연구의 대상은 부산 시내에 소재하는 단일 남자 고등학교에서 임의 군집 표집한 6개 학급의 구성원으로서 총인원은210명이다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제 7차 교육과정 10학년 과학 교과서의 '판구조론'에 사용된 비유는 총11종의 교과서에서 25회로 나타났다. 효과적인 비유 사용 수업을 위하여 학습자의 학습 능력과 학습 환경을 고려한 적합한 비유물의 개발이 이루어져한다. 둘째, 개념 전달의 과정이 비교적 복잡한 비유물은 학생에 의한 비유물 보다 교사에 의해 체계적으로 제시되는 비유물의 효과가 높게 나타난다. 셋째, 지구의 변동 단원 비유 사용 수업을 위해서 체계적인비유 사용 전략과 학생들에게 비교적 친숙한 비유물을 적극 활용할 필요가 있다. 또한 학생들에게 비유물을 직접 만들게 함으로써 학습자의 오개념을 발견하고, 학생들의 개념이해도를 파악할 수 있는 기회를 가지도록 해야할 것이다.

중국 고등학생의 고등교육수익에 대한 기대에 관한 탐색적 분석 (Exploratory Analysis of High School Students' Expectation on the Benefits of Higher Education in China)

  • 본 연구에서는 중국 고등학생의 고등교육의 수익에 대한 기대를 탐색적으로 분석하였다. 고등교육수익은 금전적 투자적 수익, 비금전적 투자적 수익, 소비적 수익으로 구분하였고, 학생개인변인 및 가정배경변인에 따른 기대 차이도 분석하였다. 본 연구는 중국 산동성 연태시의 2개 고등학교에서 각각 300명 학생과 그들 학부모 300명, 총 1,200명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS를 활용하여 교차분석, 일원분산분석 등을 통해 집단 간, 항목 간 차이를 검증하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국 고등학생들은 전반적으로 고등교육의 수익에 대한 기대가 높았다. 둘째, 성별, 학년, 성적 등 학생개인변인에 따라 고등교육수익에 대한 기대에 차이가 있다. 셋째, 가정배경변인에 따라 고등교육수익에 대한 기대에 차이가 있다. 넷째, 학부모와 학생 간에 고등교육수익에 대한 기대에 차이가 있다. 앞으로 고등교육정책이나 대학운영에서 이러한 다양한 기대와 차이를 고려해야 할 것이다.

조리실습에 대한 인식 조사를 기반으로 한 조리교육 활성화 방안 연구 (Identifying the Best Approach to Revitalize High School Culinary Education Curriculum in Korea)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the most effective methods with which to revitalize Korean high school culinary education. To achieve this aim, a culinary recognition questionnaire survey of 616 students from 9 culinary high schools was carried out. The 9 surveyed schools represented the following of 7 regions: Chungnam, Busan, Incheon, Daegue, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, and Gwangju. Collected data were subjected to descriptive analysis, $x^2$-test, t-test, and one-way ANOVA using SPSS(version 14.0). The results of this study are as follows. Culinary practice interest and learning demand of most students were high. 6.8% of students indicated that initial theory learning, followed by video education, and finally live demonstration is an effective teaching methodology. They preferred practicing on actual ingredients as the primary teaching and learning method, nominating technician cooking as the most favorite. As for areas needing improvement in culinary practice education, difficulties with material preparation and insufficient learning hours were identified as prominent factors by 66.8% of respondents. There was unanimous agreement that culinary practice education can be enhanced by highly skilled teachers, while interest for the discipline itself can be fostered by initiating and encouraging cooking participation in the home. Freshmen and special high school students suggested that a cooking related website is necessary to expand the current information interface, which is currently limited to colleagues and employers. In relation to culinary education revitalization, consistent promotion of departments, or high schools that have proven student satisfaction rates and effective culinary curriculum are required. Furthermore, teachers can also aid this process by more effective student pastoral care in order to improve school life satisfaction. However, teacher job satisfaction is an important component of this process, and better employment conditions and remuneration packages reflecting extra work must be considered as part of an attractive teacher-incentive employment policy.

청소년 스트레스에 대한 관련 변인 분석 (Analysis of Middle School Students' Stress and Related Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relation of middle school students' stress in relation to certain variables, those of grade, gender, academic achievement, coping behavior and self-concept. The subjects were 574 students selected from 4 middle schools in the Incheon area. The instruments included a stress index, coping behavior questionnaire and self-concept inventory. The statistics used from this data were t-test, one-way ANOVA (Scheff test), correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. This study showed that middle school students' stress was influenced significantly by the grade, gender and achievement in school. Also, coping behavior and self-concept were influenced significantly by the grade, gender, and achievement in school. Correlation analysis indicated that student's stress and certain coping behavior were postively correlated, especially avoidance coping behavior indicated a higher correlation to students' stress than active coping behavior. The relationship between stress and self-concept indicated a negative high correlation. It was also found that avoidance coping behavior, family self-concept, general self-concept, school and class self-concept, grade and academic achievement were significant predictors of middle school students' stress.

청소년들의 변증에 대한 단면조사 연구 - 2017 성남시 교의사업을 중심으로 - (A Cross-sectional Study of Pattern Identification in Adolescents - School doctor Program of Seongnam - city in 2017)

  • Objective : This study is aimed to application possibility and status of pattern identification in middle and high school students. Method : This study was cross-sectional study. We recruited 277 students through school doctor program of Seongnam city in 2017. Male students are 66 in middle school, 32 in high school. Female students are 117 in middle school, 62 in high school. For pattern identification, we used the tool of Qui Xui Shui pattern identification in students. Students fill questionnaires in inquiry of pattern identification and Korean medicine doctor diagnosis inspection and palpation of students. Results : Among 277 students, no pattern identification were 114(41.2%). It appeared in the order of phlegm, blood deficinecy, qi deficiency, qi stagnation and qi reversal. Qi deficiency, qi stagnation, qi reversal, blood deficiency and phlegm pattern are statistically significant by gender except blood stagnation. of 277 students, 105 (37.9%) had one more pattern identification. Conclusions : This study showed possibility of Qui Xui Shui pattern for student health management. In the future, large scale follow up study will be needed to clarify the relationship of pattern identification and student's health.

고등학생의 김치이용 태도 및 급식 메뉴 개발 연구 (High School Student's Attitude about Kimchi and Development of Kimchi as a Menu Item for Meal Service)

  • Kimchi is the most well-known Korean traditional food, but it is also the main leftover of school lunch and dinner menus. This study aimed to familiarize teenagers with kimchi through school meals and to increase their daily kimchi intake, ultimately by appealing to the young generation's taste. A questionnaire survey was conducted in the Ansan area to examine student's acceptability of kimchi and their attitudes toward kimchi. Approximately 65% of males and 67% of female students liked the moderately fermented and pungent taste of kimchi. Kimchi served in school meals was regarded as nutritional but cheap. Approximately 72% of male and 82% of female students responded that they liked menu items using kimchi. Approximately 48% of students responded that menu items using kimchi in schools are not diverse. Students preferred meat as an ingredient in kimchi. The preferred cooking methods were stir-frying and frying, whereas boiling was the least favorite. Based on the survey results, ten kimchi menu items had been developed. The suitability of the menu was evaluated by students and cooks. Six kimchi items, including Kimchi mixed with rice, chicken, soybean sprouts, Kimchi cheese rice, stewed beef ribs with kimchi, rice topped with kimchi curry, kimchi cheese meat roast, and kimchi udong were considered appropriate for school meals, whereas kimchi kangchong, kimchi topokki, kimchi stew with surimi, and frozen Pollack kimchi soup were not suitable as menu items. Kimchi topokki was not accepted by students, while kimchi kangchong was not accepted by cooks. Cooks judged the suitability of a menu item by the cooking process and cooking times, whereas students judged an item by its sensory preference. Approximately 63% of students responded that kimchi intake has increased by participating in the development of kimchi dishes.

여고생이 지각한 부모 양육행동이 외로움과 역량지각에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Perceived Parenting Behaviors on Loneliness and Perceived Competence among Female High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to recognize the effects of parenting behaviors as perceived by female high school students on their loneliness and perceived competence. The subjects of this research consisted of 301 female high school students. The data collected were analyzed by multi-regression analysis. The father and mother's behaviors, defined as inconsistency, intrusiveness, physical abuse and neglect, all- resulted in increased levels of loneliness amongst the subjects, and also negatively influenced their perceived competence. However, the parent's monitoring, reasoning and affection behaviors tended to reduced loneliness and perceived lack of competence. The father and mother's affection, when recognized as such by female adolescents, revealed itself to be a positive influence on their various areas of perceived competence. In conclusion, parenting behaviors may affect loneliness and perceived competence on the part of female adolescents during the ego-identity formation stage.

가족 기능성과 대인관계 성향과의 관계 - 경기남부지역 고등학생을 중심으로 - (The Relations between the Family Functioning and Interpersonal Relation Disposition - Focused High School Students in Gyeonggi South Area -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relations between family functioning and the interpersonal relation disposition of high school students in southern Gyeonggi province. The subjects of this study were 360 high school students. The scale of family functioning was measured using the Family Adaptability Cohesion Evaluation Scale(FACES Ⅲ) developed by Olson, et al.(1985). To measure the interpersonal relation disposition, Ahn's Interpersonal Relation Disposition Scale(IRDS) was used. The data was analyzed by using t-test, ANOVA, and multiple comparison(Duncan test). The major findings were as follows: There were significant differences in student's family functioning and interpersonal relation disposition according to school department and family economy level. There were significant differences in the interpersonal relation disposition according to gender. Where family functioning was higher, the students' interpersonal relation dispositions were more sympathetic, accepting and socially friendly, while being less rebellious and distrustful. As a result of this study, it is found that family functioning has effects on high school students' interpersonal relation disposition.
