지능형 에너지 저장시스템과 ESS 개발을 위한 소재 및 공정 기술 (Intelligent Energy Harvesting Power Management and Advanced Energy Storage System)

  • Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydro provides utilizing renewable power and reduce the using fossil fuels. On the other hand, it is too critical to apply power system due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources, the continuous fluctuations of the power load, and the storage with high energy density. Energy storage system, including pumped-hydroelectric energy storage, compressed-air energy storage, superconducting magnetic energy storage, and electrochemical devices like batteries, supercapacitors and others have shown that solve some of the challenges. In this paper, we review the current state of applications of energy storage systems, and atomic layer deposition technology, graphene materials on the energy storage systems and processes.

Preparation of rGO-S-CPEs Composite Cathode and Electrochemical Performance of All-Solid-State Lithium-Sulfur Battery

  • The application of polymer composite electrolyte in all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery (ASSLSBs) can guarantee high energy density and improve the interface contact between electrolyte and electrode, which has a broader application prospect. However, the inherent insulation of the sulfur-cathode leads to a low electron/ion transfer rate. Carbon materials with high electronic conductivity and electrolyte materials with high ionic conductivity are usually selected to improve the electron/ion conduction of the composite cathode. In this work, PEO-LiTFSI-LLZO composite polymer electrolyte (CPE) with high ionic conductivity was prepared. The ionic conductivity was 1.16×10-4 and 7.26×10-4 S cm-1 at 20 and 60℃, respectively. Meanwhile, the composite sulfur cathode was prepared with Sulfur, reduced graphene oxide and composite polymer electrolyte slurry (S-rGO-CPEs). In addition to improving the ion conductivity in the cathode, CPEs also replaces the role of binder. The influence of different contents of CPEs in the cathode material on the performance of the constructed battery was investigated. The results show that the electrochemical performance of the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery is the best when the content of the composite electrolyte in the cathode is 40%. Under the condition of 0.2C and 45℃, the charging and discharging capacity of the first cycle is 923 mAh g-1, and the retention capacity is 653 mAh g-1 after 50 cycles.

  • 리튬이온 배터리는 높은 에너지 밀도 빠른 충전조건 긴 사이클수명의 특성으로 여러 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 하지만 리튬이온 배터리는 과충전, 과방전, 물리적손상, 고온에서의 사용은 배터리 수명 감소와 보호회로 손상에 의한 화재 및 폭발에 의한 인명피해를 입힐 수 있다. 이러한 배터리의 위험성을 낮추며 배터리 성능을 향상시키기 위해서는 충전 및 방전 과정에서의 특성들을 분석하고 이해하여야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 배터리 충방전기와 시뮬레이터를 활용하여 리튬이온 배터리의 충전 및 방전 특성을 분석하여 과충전 과방전에 따른 배터리 수명 감소와 보호회로 손상에 의한 화재 및 폭발에 의한 인명피해를 줄이고자 한다.

Li/$V_6O_{13}$ 2차전지의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characteristics of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ Secondary Battery)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the lithium secondary battery. This paper describes the preparation, electrochemical properties of nontstoichiometric(NS)-$V_6O_{13}$ and characteristics of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ secondary battery. NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was prepared by thermal decomposition of $NH_4VO_3$ under Ar stream of 140ml/min~180ml/min flow rate. And then, this NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was used for cathode active material. Cathode sheet was prepared by compressing the composite of NS-$V_6O_{13}$, acetylene black(A.B) and teflon emulsion (T.E). Characteristics of the test cell are summarised as follows. Oxidation capacity of NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was about 20% less than its reduction capacity. A part of NS-$V_6O_{13}$ cathode active material showed irreversible reaction in early charge-discharge cycle. This phenomena seems to be caused by irreversible incoporation/discoporation of lithium cation to/from NS-$V_6O_{13}$ host. Discharge characteristics curve of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ cell showed 4 potential plateaus. Charge-discharge capacity was declined in the beginning of cycling and slowly increased in company with increasing of coulombic efficiency. Energy density per weight of $V_6O_{13}$ cathode material was as high as 522Wh/kg~765Wh/kg.

전기자동차 리튬이온 배터리 제조공정에서 Loading Level 산포최소화 코팅을 통한 전극 품질개선에 관한 연구 (Development of Slurry Flow Control and Slot Die Optimization Process for Manufacturing Improved Electrodes in Production of Lithium-ion Battery for Electric Vehicles)

  • 전기자동차는 가솔린 자동차와는 달리 배출가스가 없어 친환경 차량을 대표하지만, 장착된 축전지에 충전된 전기로 구동되기 때문에, 1회 충전으로 갈 수 있는 거리가 전지의 에너지 밀도에 의해 좌우된다. 따라서 높은 에너지 밀도를 갖는 리튬이온 전지가 전기자동차용 전지로 유력한 후보이다. 리튬이온 전지의 효율을 지배하는 중요한 구성품은 전극이므로 전극 제조공정은 리튬이온 전지 전체 생산 공정에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 전극의 제조 공정 중 코팅 공정은 성능에 큰 영향을 미치는 매우 중요한 공정이다. 본 논문에서는 전극 제조에서 코팅 공법의 효율성 및 생산성 증대를 위한 혁신적인 공정을 제안하고, 장비 설계 방법 및 개발 결과에 대하여 기술하였다. 구체적으로, 극판 핵심 코팅 품질 25% Upgrade 기술, 제품 고출력/고용량화 에 따른 조립 마진 감소 대응 가능 기술, 그리고 제품 용량 품질 및 조립 공정 수율 향상 기술들에 대한 설계 절차 및 개발방법을 제시하였다. 결과로 리튬이온 배터리의 셀의 제품 수명 개선 효과를 확보 하였다. 기존의 코팅 공정과 비교할 때 양극 용량 유지 위해 Target Loading Level 유지, 산포를 향상시켰다(${\pm}0.4{\rightarrow}{\pm}0.3mg/cm^2r$감소).

  • ESS refers to a device that can store electrical energy produced by renewable energy generation, etc. and use it when necessary. Lithium-ion batteries are composed of high energy density and combustible electrolyte, so once ignited, it is difficult to extinguish. Many studies have been conducted to solve the problem of the battery itself as the cause of the fire. However, there is also a problem with the structure in which ESS(hereinafter referred to as ESS storage) is installed itself. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to provide data to solve the problems related to ignition and fire spread due to the problem of ESS storage. In summer, the internal temperature of the ESS storage rises due to solar radiation to trigger a fire, so it is necessary to prevent an internal temperature rise due to solar radiation. Research on standards, materials used, structures, etc. for ESS storage and new regulations are required.

플라이휠에 의한 에너지 저장 장치 개발 (Development of Flywheel Energy Storage System)

  • With the development of power electronics, many new energy storage systems such as the superconducting magnetic energy storage, the flywheel energy storage, and the capacitive energy storage, etc. are being intensively studied recently in order to replace battery in some special applications, Among these innovative energy storage systems, the flywheel system exhibits some unique features such as high power density, easy maintenance and longer lifetime. This paper introduces the novel flywheel energy storage system. Operation and features of the system are illustrated and verified on a 6kVA, 20kHz IPM based experimental circuit for O/A application. The Halbach Array Motor is selected of the design of the three phase motor/generator for the flywheel energy storage system.

높은 접근성과 에너지 효율을 갖는 계수기반 브로드캐스트 기법 (Efficient Counter-Based Broadcast Scheme for High Reachability and Energy Efficiency)

  • 본 논문에서는 높은 접근성과 에너지 효율을 갖는 계수기반 브로드캐스팅 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 더 넓은 영역을 추가로 커버할 수 있는 노드가 리브로드캐스팅을 수행할 수 있도록, 두 노드로부터 동일한 브로드캐스팅 메시지를 수신 받은 노드가 자신이 리브로드캐스팅 시 얻을 수 있는 추가적인 커버리지를 계산하는 방법을 제안한다. 계산된 추가적인 커버리지 정보와 거리정보, 밀집도 정보, 배터리 잔량 정보를 통해 임의의 접속 지연(RAD)을 결정하는 수식을 제안하였고, 밀집도 정보와 배터리 잔량 정보를 통해 계수 임계값 ($C_{th}$)을 결정하는 수식을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션 성능평가를 통해 기존에 제안된 계수기반 브로드캐스팅 기법들과 성능비교를 통해 제안하는 알고리즘의 성능을 평가한다.

Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed.
