Design and Verification Method for the Train Supervisory Controller of the Korean High-Speed Tarin (한국형 고속전철의 열차 관리제어기의 설계 및 검증 방법)

  • This paper presents a design procedure for the supervisory controller(SC) of the high-speed train car. The proposed SC manages control logic and scenario of the overall train system, and monitors input/output signals among the sub-controllers in the system, The roles and functions of each sub-control system are defined, and the interfaces among the control systems are developed. Train control system is modeled with automata, and the model is implemented into a program using a computer-aided software engineering(CASE) tool, Object GEODE, The designed SC is verified and evaluated by using simulation. The SC is shown to successfully perform the designed functions without any errors.

  • This paper presents a design and analysis of torque characteristics of a two-phase SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) for high speed blower system. To reduce the electrical frequency and core losses at high speed region, In order to reduce torque ripple and torque dead-band, variable rotor air-gap structure is adopted and the air-gap is optimized according to torque production. The optimized torque output is verified by the FEM results.

  • This paper suggests a high-speed control method which is suitable for multi-joint robots using a real-time stand-alone controller for general-purpose. The fast processing controller consists of a PCI Interface Board and 2-axe PWM drivers. The PCI Interface Board consists of 32-channel PWM output ports, 32-channel Encoder Counters, 32-channel A/D Converters and 48-channel Digital I/O ports, and all the I/O data transmissions are completed within 1ms. And The 2-axe PWM driver can be redesigned easily in order to embed in each link. Experimental implementations show that the high-speed control method can be used for the real-time control which is essential to controlling of multi-body robots such as humanoid robots. Especially, it is efficient for realizing the model-based motion control in demand of much calculation time by the high I/O communication speed.

  • The Series RC load is connected with the word line in an attempt to select with high speed the information from the coincident current magnetie memory core. By taking the small time constant of the RC load, the cycle time of the output pulse is shortened by about 2 microseconds to 3 micro seconds. For this purpose, the analytical study are accomplished and the optimum circuit parameters are determined. Furthermore, the thermal problems occuring from the high speed switching of the magnetic memory core have been clarified.

  • In this paper, we propose a new architecture of the Banyan switch for a high speed networking and the high speed parallel computer. The proposed switching network with a remodeled architecture is a newly modified Banyan network with eight input and output pots, respectively. We have analysed the maximum throughput of the revised switch. Our analyses has shown that under the uniform random traffic load, the FIFO discipline is limited to 70%. Therefore the result of the analyses shows that the results of the networking simulation with the new switch are feasible and if we adopt such as new architecture of the revised model of the Banyan switch, the hardware complexity can be reduced. The FIFO discipline has increased about 11% when we compare the switching system with the input buffer system. We have designed and verified the new switching system in VHDL.

Optimal Design of Shock Absorber using High Speed Stability (고속 안정성을 고려한 쇽업소버 최적 설계)

  • In order to solve the conflict problem between the ride comfort and the road holding, the optimal design of shock absorber that minimizes the r.m.s. of sprung mass vertical acceleration and pitch rate with the understeer characteristics constraints in the high speed stability is proposed. The design of experiments and the nonlinear optimization algorithm are used together to obtain the optimal design of shock absorber. The second order regression models of the input variables(front and rear damping coefficients) and the output variables (ride comfort index and road holding one) are obtained by the central composite design in the design of experiments. Then the optimal design of shock absorber can be systematically adjusted with applying the nonlinear optimization algorithm to the obtained second order regression model. The frequency response analysis of sprung mass acceleration and pitch rate shows the effectiveness of the proposed optimal design of shock absorber in the sprung mass resonance range with the understeer characteristics constraints.

  • Current waveform control of pulse MAG welding power source is studied so that welding of thin plates may obtain high speed and improved performance. In this paper, waveform control method is proposed, digital controller using DSP is able to control the current waveform precisely. High speed welding of thin plates using pulse MAG welding method is made possible. Performance test for 1.2mm thin plates is carried out, output waveform and welding performance is analyzed.

  • This paper describes the design and the performance analysis of high speed induction motor considering end-ring using F.E.M.. To investigate the flux distribution, the induced rotor current, the designed high speed induction motor is analyzed by 3-D F.E.M.. Also, to identify the design specification, the performance characteristic is analyzed and estimated into the torque, the current and the output power at the static and the transient state.

To solve this problem, it is necessary to increase invariable, pole number, or the number of slots.   • Electrical Power supply System conditions of korea high speed train consists of main transformer, four AC-DC PWM converter of Auxiliary Block, Battery Charger in Power Car and Trailer Car, Trailer Inverter, Auxiliary inverter. Main transformer, at nominal voltage of 25kv supplied to secondary winding nominal output Voltage 383Vac, The Auxiliary block consists of AC-DC converters for generating 670VDC power, Auxiliary inverters for ventilation and air compressor, Trailer car inverter provide three phase power supplies at 440Vac for air conditioning and heating. The Battery charger Trailer and Power car supplies 72VDC all necessary equipment to energize the trainset equipment and suppy essential control. This Paper introduces the combined test results of the power supply system for korea high speed train. The main purpose of this combined test is to verify the performance of the power supply system that is designed to operate up to full load test.
