고등학생의 수면 부족, 비만, 스크린 타임 사이의 관련성 연구 (Relationships between Short Sleep, Obesity, and Screen Time in High School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between short sleep, obesity, and screen time. Methods: Data were obtained from a survey using a sample of 1,166 academic, and 597 vocational high school students. A structured questionnaire was used to assess demographics, hours spent in sleep, TV viewing, internet usage, and game playing. Obesity was determined using the body mass index. Descriptive statistics, Cochran Mantel Haenszel Chi-square test, and multiple logistic regression with dummy variables were performed. Results: Short sleep (<8 hours/day) was significantly related to obesity, not in academic school students, but in vocational school students. Academic high school students who had enough sleep (${\geq}8$ hours/day), had more time spent on TV viewing, internet usage, and game playing. Similar results were found in vocational high school students except for internet use. Interestingly, students with better school performance spent significantly less time in TV viewing, internet usage, and game playing, and therefore had a lower risk of obesity in academic school students. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between short sleep and obesity that was found only in vocational high school students. The relationship between short sleep and screen time was not significant in Korean high school students.

일반계 고등학생과의 비교를 통한 공업계 특성화고등학교 학생들의 과학학습동기 탐색 (Exploring science learning motivation of technical high school students through comparison)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 일반계 고등학생과의 비교를 통해 공업계 특성화고등학교 학생들의 과학학습동기를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 구체적으로 두 학교 학생들의 과학학습동기 수준을 비교하였으며, 학습동기 구인들의 상관관계는 어떠한 차이가 있는지 비교하였다. 마지막으로 공업계열 학생들의 과학학습동기가 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 이 연구에는 공업계 특성화고등학교 학생 596명과 일반계 고등학교 학생 1063이 참여하였다. 자료 분석을 위해 이원변량분석(two-way ANOVA), 독립표본 t-검정, Pearson상관관계 분석의 두 가지 통계 방법을 사용하였다. 분석 결과 학교와 학년간 상호작용이 과학학습동기 차이에 유의미한 효과를 나타내었다. 일반계 고등학교 학생들이 학년에 따라 학습동기의 큰 차이를 보이는 반면, 공업계 특성화고 학생들의 경우 학년 간 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 특히 일반계 고등학교 자연계열 학생들에 비해 낮은 수준의 과학학습동기를 나타내었다. 과학학습동기의 다섯 가지 요소 간 상관관계 또한 일반계 고등학교 학생들에 비하여 공업계고 학생들이 상당히 낮았다. 마지막으로 공업계 특성화고 2학년들의 과학학습동기와 학업성취도의 상관정도는 1학년학생들에 비해 적었다. 이러한 결과들을 종합해 볼 때, 공업계 고등학교 학생들의 과학학습동기 향상을 위한 교육적 전략이 필요함을 알 수 있다. 결과들을 바탕으로 공업계열 학생들의 과학교육의 방향에 대하여 논의하고자 한다.

도시와 농어촌지역 중·고등학생의 구강건강인식 및 구강보건 의식행태 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Dental Health Perception and Dental Health Behaviors among Middle and High School Students in the Urban and Rural)

  • A comparative study of the dental health perception and dental health behaviors among 12,325 middle and high school students in urban and rural areas was conducted by using "2010 National Dental Health Investigation". The results of this study are as follows. For the dental health perception and the utilization of dental service, all middle and high school students had a low perception of the their dental health status toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. For the time of tooth-brushing among the dental health behaviors, most middle and high school students brushed their teeth after lunch. In connection with the frequency of cariogenic snack intake, high school students had a greater percentage toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. For the dental health status, middle school students in big cities had a high average of carious permanent teeth, but high school students had a high average of carious permanent teeth toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. In other words, there was no significant difference in missing permanent teeth, filling permanent teeth and decay permanent teeth between middle school students by region, but high school students had a greater percentage of the dental health perception and dental health behaviors toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban, showing a little difference. Consequently, there was a relationship between middle and high school students' perception of dental health and their behaviors of dental health.

스트레스가 남녀 고등학생의 식행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Stress on Eating Behavior of High School Boys & Girls)

  • The objectives of this study were to survey stress, eating behavior, and the influences of stress on eating behavior of high school boys and girls. The subjects of this study were 510 high school students(boys 240, girls 270) in Cheongju area. The questionaires were distributed to 510 students, self-evaluated and collected from Mar. 23 to Apr. 4, 1998. The results of this study were as follows: First, the third grade students of high school were suffering from many stress. The rate of such students was 33.9% of total students. Second, eating problems of students were unbalanced diet, irregular diet, omitting a meal. The most irregular meal was breakfast, especially girl students ate breakfast more irregular than boy students. Third, the higher the level of stress of stress of the students, the more eating problem existed. The more students met with stress, the more eating behavior was irregular in eating quantity. In conclusion, stress influences eating behavior of high school students negatively. Therefore, to improve eating behavior of students who are suffering from stress, the program on stress release and nutrition education should be developed and supplied to them.

고등학생의 시험 스트레스와 대처 유형에 관한 연구 (Test Stress and Coping Style of High School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the degree of test stress and coping style and their relationship of high school students. Method: A descriptive and correlative study has been conducted to report adolescents' test stress and coping style. Nine hundred fifty four high school students were participated in this study and collected data by visit-survey with an organized questionnaire. Results: The mean score of perceived test stress was 2.98. High school students were more frequently use the affective regulation coping style than problem focused coping style. The relationship between perceived test stress and affective regulation coping was statistically significant. Conclusion: Through this study, investigator found coping styles were important factors influencing test stress of high school students. This study also shows that a number of characteristics of the high school students significantly affect levels of test stress, the most notable of these factors being grade, sex, and academic performance. Therefore, consideration of test stress and coping style should be included in the development of a stress management program for high school students.

경북지역 일부 초.중.고 학생의 식생활점수와 아침식사 섭취 빈도 관련 요인 분석 (Factors Related to Frequency of Breakfast Eating and Dietary Life Score in Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Residing in Kyungpook)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to eating behavior of breakfast and dietary life score in elementary, middle, and high school students. This study was conducted by administering questionnaires, and data were analyzed by the SPSS program. The subjects were divided into three groups according to school group (elementary, middle, and high school). The subjects consisted of 1,879 students (male 973, female 906) from 11 schools in Kyungpook. The distribution of subjects was as follows: elementary school children 682, middle school students 702, and high school students 495. The results are summarized as follows. Dietary life score was 72.64 for elementary school students, 64.77 for middle school students, and 62.67 for high school students. Frequency of eating breakfast and reasons for skipping breakfast were significantly different according to school group (P<0.001, P<0.01, respectively). The main reason for skipping breakfast was 'habitual skip' for elementary and middle school students (54.8%, 46.7%) and 'getting up too late' in high school students (55.4%). There were no significant association between frequency of eating breakfast and BMI. However, there were significant differences in school performance and sleeping hours according to frequency of eating breakfast (P<0.001, P<0.01, respectively). Dietary life score was significantly different according to frequency of eating breakfast (P<0.001). These results stress the need for intervention programs aimed at decreasing the frequency of skipping breakfast in children and students at school. Further, those who prepares meals for children must increase their concern about preparing breakfast.

광양.순천 지역 고등학생들의 친환경적 행동 변인 연구 (Factors of the High School Students' Environmental Friendly Activities in Kwangyang and Suncheon)

  • This research is carried out to investigate what factors affect high school students' environmental friendly activities iii Kwangyang and Suncheon. Questionnaire Survey was conducted with second-year students each three high schools in Kwangyang and Suncheon areas. Major research results were as follows; 1. High school students' environmental friendly activities were strongly affected by those behaviors of their parents. 2. High school students' environmental friendly activities were strongly affected by school environmental educations. 3. High school students' environmental friendly activities were affected by environmental factors of home, society and school. According to the above result I'd like to suggest inter-related environmental education between home and school and society, some devices which could strengthen the parents' environmental friendly activities, and systematic school environmental education should be conducted.

인천지역 일부 중학생과 고등학생의 편의점 편의식 이용 실태 (Study on Middle and High School Students' Use of Convenience Foods at Convenience Stores in Incheon)

  • Objectives: The rapidly changing dietary environment requires a study that addresses the status of middle and high school students regarding their consumption of convenience food sold at convenience stores. Methods: This study examined adolescents' lifestyle patterns, dietary habits, and status of consuming convenience food at convenience stores. A total of 659 students (329 middle school students and 330 high school students) in Incheon participated in this questionnaire survey. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 13.7 years for the middle school students, and 16.6 years for the high school students. The gender and grade distributions in the middle and high school students were similar. The middle school students reported that they spent more time using electronic devices (p<0.001) or watching TV (p<0.001) than high school students. More than 60% of middle and high school students consumed convenience food at convenience stores without statistical difference between the two groups. The main reason for consuming convenience food from convenience stores was its convenience followed by taste in both groups. Despite the high frequency of consuming convenience food, the students rarely checked the nutrition labels at the time of purchase. On the other hand, they were still most concerned about the nutritional value of the convenience foods when they consumed convenience foods. The most frequently consumed convenience food was ramyon in both groups. Significant positive correlations were observed between the frequency of consuming convenience food at convenience stores and lifestyle factors for the middle school students, including monthly allowance, time for using electronic devices, and number of private lessons. For the high school students, however, the only monthly allowance had a significant positive correlation with the consumption. Conclusions: Adolescents are increasingly exposed to convenience foods and relevant nutritional issues are a concern. Therefore, a dietary environment that is adequately formed for the healthy development of youth as well as systematic nutrient education that is appropriately designed for both middle and high school students is required.

중 고등학생 대상 영양교육 목표 설정을 위한 영양 관련 문제점 분석 (Setting Instructional Goals for Nutritional Education Program Through an Analysis of Problems Identified in Junior/senior High School Students)

  • For the purpose of developing 'Web-Based Nutritional Education Program', this study analyzed nutritional problems of junior/senior high school students and set appropriate instructional goals for nutritional education program. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21,2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 students at three junior high schools and five senior high schools located in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. According to the survey results, three student groups (male and female students at junior high schools and female students at senior high schools) had lower than an ideal body weight. In case of their Basal Metabolic Indices (BMI), the female students and junior high school students showed a tendency to be underweight, while the other three student groups were within the normal range. The result of the survey showed that all four groups of students showed a deficiency in nutrient intake of calories, calcium and thiamin when compared with Korean RDA. Particularly, in the case of the female students at senior high schools, the deficiency of iron intake was a problem. The survey about food attitudes and food habits of the students showed that the senior high school students had more problems when compared with their junior high school counterparts (p < .001). Therefore, the instructional goals of nutritional education program were set as follows: 1) To improve the level of understanding and the perception of junior and senior high school students about the importance of a dietary lifestyle. 2) To change food attitudes and nutritional knowledge related to individual dietary 1ifestyle, so as to maintain good health through the enhancement of the students' physical activities. We found out that it is critically important to factor in the existing problems of food attitudes and food habits, as well as nutrient intake among junior and senor high school students when setting objectives for nutritional education programs. 일부 중 . 고등학생의 성에 대한 지식 및 태도에 관한 고찰 (A Study on Knowledge, Experience in Venereal Disease and the Needs of Sex Education for the Middle and High School Students in Urban Area)

  • In order to study middle school and high school students' knowledge and experiences in sexually transmitted diseases(STD) and needs of sex education for them, a survey was conducted at four schools in Seoul from December 7 to 12, 1983. The subject of the survey was 403 of middle school students(boy-199, girl-204) and 672 of high school students(boy-419, girl-353) who were randomly sampled. 1. Knowledge: The level of students' knowledge on venereal disease was relatively low. Boy students have more knowledge on STD than girl students. 2. Experience: 3.7% of the respondents have experiences in venereal disease. 20.0% of the middle school students and 80.0% of the high school students whom 3.7% of the respondents. 3. Need of sex education: 32.5% of the respondents suffer from sexual problems and 80.0% of the respondents want to learn more about sex education. In conclusion, sex education for students is required and should be included in regular curricula of all level of Korean schools.
