The inorganic pearlescent pigment have high physical and chemical stability, thus it is used in a variety field, which has better light stability, solvent resistance and thermostability. In this paper, we were synthesized the pearlescent pigment for cosmetics which was coated cobalt chloride for base of blue color metal oxide on mica titania substrate using hydrothermal synthesis method. To complement the color of the pigment by cobalt, pearl pigment were coated by different metal salt and cobalt ratio, to implement a variety of color value, depending on the kind of metal salts were synthesized. Synthesized pearlescent pigments appear various color as kind of added metal salt precursor and molar ration of cobalt and other metals. We controlled coating and color by composition of metal salt and type of metal salts, and that confirm the pigment characteristics of color changes through the analysis of color difference meter. Synthesized pigment was characterized by SPM, SEM, XRD, and EDS.

The effect of nitrogen doping on the mechanical and tribological performance of single-layer tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C:N) coatings of up to $1{\mu}m$ in thickness was investigated using a custom-made filtered cathode vacuum arc (FCVA). The results obtained revealed that the hardness of the coatings decreased from $65{\pm}4.8GPa$ to $25{\pm}2.4GPa$ with increasing nitrogen gas ratio, which indicates that nitrogen doping occurs through substitution in the $sp^2$ phase. Subsequent AES analysis showed that the N/C ratio in the ta-C:N thick-film coatings ranged from 0.03 to 0.29 and increased with the nitrogen flow rate. Variation in the G-peak positions and I(D)/I(G) ratio exhibit a similar trend. It is concluded from these results that micron-thick ta-C:N films have the potential to be used in a wide range of functional coating applications in electronics. To achieve highly conductive and wear-resistant coatings in system components, the friction and wear performances of the coating were investigated. The tribological behavior of the coating was investigated by sliding an SUJ2 ball over the coating in a ball-on-disk tribo-meter. The experimental results revealed that doping using a high nitrogen gas flow rate improved the wear resistance of the coating, while a low flow rate of 0-10 sccm increased the coefficient of friction (CoF) and wear rate through the generation of hematite (${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$) phases by tribo-chemical reaction. However, the CoF and wear rate dramatically decreased when the nitrogen flow rate was increased to 30-40 sccm, due to the nitrogen inducing phase transformation that produced a graphite-like structure in the coating. The widths of the wear track and wear scar were also observed to decrease with increasing nitrogen flow rate. Moreover, the G-peaks of the wear scar around the SUJ2 ball on the worn surface increased with increasing nitrogen doping.

Characteristics of interconnect lines considering underlayer geometries of a silicon substrate and crossing metal lines are experimentally analyzed through elaborately devised patterns. In this work, test patterns for transmission lines having several kinds of underlayer geometries were devised, and the signal characteristics and responses are measured by S-parameter and time domain reflection meter (TDR). The patterns were designed and fabricated with a deep-submicron CMOS DRAM technology having 1 Tungsten and 2 Aluminum metals. From the analysis of measured results on the patterns, it is founded that the effects of underlayter line structures on line parameters (especially line capacitance and resistance) and signal distortions occurred from them cannot be negligible. The results provide useful and insightful understanding in the skew balance of package leads and global signal lines such as high-speed clock and data lines.

Plasma source ion implantation is a new doping technique for the formation of shallow junction with the merits of high dose rate, low-cost and minimal wafer charging damage. In plasma source ion implantation process, the wafer is placed directly in the plasma of the appropriate dopant ions. Negative pulse bias is applied to the wafer, causing the dopant ions to be accelerated toward the wafer and implanted below the surface. In this work, inductively couples plasma was generated by anodized Al antenna that was located inside the vacuum chamber. The outside wall of Al chamber was surrounded by Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets to confine the plasma and to enhance the uniformity. Before implantation, the wafer was pre-sputtered using DC bias of 300B in Ar plasma in order to eliminate the native oxide. After cleaning, B2H6 (5%)/H2 plasma and negative pulse bias of -1kV to 5 kV were used to form shallow p+/n junction at the boron dose of 1$\times$1015 to 5$\times$1016 #/cm2. The as-implanted samples were annealed at 90$0^{\circ}C$, 95$0^{\circ}C$ and 100$0^{\circ}C$during various annealing time with rapid thermal process. After annealing, the sheet resistance and the junction depth were measured with four point probe and secondary ion mass spectroscopy, respectively. The doping uniformity was also investigated. In addition, the electrical characteristics were measured for Schottky diode with a current-voltage meter.

In this work, we evaluated the structural, electrical and optical properties of $Ge_8Sb_2Te_{11}$ and Cu-doped $Ge_8Sb_2Te_{11}$ thin films prepared by rf-magnetron reactive sputtering. The 200-nm-thick deposited films were annealed in a range of $100{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ using a furnace in an $N_2$ atmosphere. The amorphous-to-crystalline phase changes of the thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis-IR spectrophotometry, a 4-point probe, and a source meter. A one-step phase transformation from amorphous to face-centered-cubic (fcc) and an increase of the crystallization temperature ($T_c$) was observed in the Cu-doped film, which indicates an enhanced thermal stability in the amorphous state. The difference in the optical energy band gap ($E_{op}$) between the amorphous and crystalline phases was relatively large, approximately 0.38~0.41 eV, which is beneficial for reducing the noise in the memory devices. The sheet resistance($R_s$) of the amorphous phase in the Cu-doped film was about 1.5 orders larger than that in undoped film. A large $R_s$ in the amorphous phase will reduce the programming current in the memory device. An increase of threshold voltage ($V_{th}$) was seen in the Cu-doped film, which implied a high thermal efficiency. This suggests that the Cu-doped $Ge_8Sb_2Te_{11}$ thin film is a good candidate for PRAM.
This study has been made to find out more effective way of vegetation establishment on severely denuded forest land from the viewpoint of soil moisture regimes. Various environmental factors were measured to estimate soil moisture conditions of different sites. Soil moisture influence on growth of over vegetations, water requirement and drought resistance were analyzed. The efficiency of water use was also reckoned at different fertility levels and different soil moisture conditions. This research is composed of field experiment and green house experiment. Field experiment includes height growth, survival and coverage analysis of cover vegetations (Robinia pseudoacacia L., Lespedeza bicolor Turcz, Arundinella hirta Tanaka var. ciliare Koidzumi.) with 4 fertility level treatments on 3 slopes (Steep: $37^{\circ}$, Moderate: $25^{\circ}$, Gentle; $17^{\circ}$) during dry season (1 April-30 June) and wet season (1 July-10 September). At the same time temperature, relative humidity and precipitation were measured to understand the environmental changes. Soil moisture conditions were measured with soil moisture meter with 24 soil cells. Green house experiment comprised height, fresh weight and dry weight measurements of cover vegetations with 4 fertility levels and 3 moisture conditions for 70 days. The results extracted from experiments are as follews. 1. Cover vegtations have 3 patterns of water requirement at the early stage of growth. a) Robinia type has high water requirement and weaker drought resistance. b) Lespedeza type has low water requirement and stronger drought resistance. c) Arundinella type has moderate water requirement and weaker drought resistance. 2. The vegetations have different optimum fertility levels in different soil moisture supply condition. a) Robinia needs a low fertility level in dry condition and a high level in wet condition. b) Lespedeza needs only low fertility level in all conditions. c) Arundinella needs a low fertility level in dry condition and a high level in wet condition. 3. The efficiency of water use (Water/1g dry weight) by fertility levels is different from one another. Robinia and Arundinella have a good efficiency at low fertility level in dry condition and at high fertility level in wet condition. Lespedeza has a good efficiency at low fertility level in all conditions. 4. $P_2O_5$ requirement of Robinia and Lespedeza is high, but that of Arundinella is low. Soil moisture condition has a great influence on $P_2O_5$ absorption in dendued forest land. Once Vegetations are established on suitable sites with optimum fertitity level according to different moisture condition, even the small amount of soil water in denuded land can he used with high efficiency and the effect of fertility treatment can be maximized.
The detail survey on the Songsanri tomb site including the Muryong royal tomb was carried out during the period from May 1 , 1996 to April 30, 1997. A quantitative analysis was tried to find changes of tomb itself since the excavation. Main subjects of the survey are to find out the cause of infiltration of rain water and groundwater into the tomb and the tomb site, monitoring of the movement of tomb structure and safety, removal method of the algae inside the tomb, and air controlling system to solve high humidity condition and dew inside the tomb. For these purposes, detail survery inside and outside the tombs using a electronic distance meter and small airplane, monitoring of temperature and humidity, geophysical exploration including electrical resistivity, geomagnetic, gravity and georadar methods, drilling, measurement of physical and chemical properties of drill core and measurement of groundwater permeability were conducted. We found that the center of the subsurface tomb and the center of soil mound on ground are different 4.5 meter and 5 meter for the 5th tomb and 7th tomb, respectively. The fact has caused unequal stress on the tomb structure. In the 7th tomb (the Muryong royal tomb), 435 bricks were broken out of 6025 bricks in 1972, but 1072 bricks are broken in 1996. The break rate has been increased about 250% for just 24 years. The break rate increased about 290% in the 6th tomb. The situation in 1996 is the result for just 24 years while the situation in 1972 was the result for about 1450 years. Status of breaking of bircks represents that a severe problem is undergoing. The eastern wall of the Muryong royal tomb is moving toward inside the tomb with the rate of 2.95 mm/myr in rainy season and 1.52 mm/myr in dry season. The frontal wall shows biggest movement in the 7th tomb having a rate of 2.05 mm/myr toward the passage way. The 6th tomb shows biggest movement among the three tombs having the rate of 7.44mm/myr and 3.61mm/myr toward east for the high break rate of bricks in the 6th tomb. Georadar section of the shallow soil layer represents several faults in the top soil layer of the 5th tomb and 7th tomb. Raninwater flew through faults tnto the tomb and nearby ground and high water content in nearby ground resulted in low resistance and high humidity inside tombs. High humidity inside tomb made a good condition for algae living with high temperature and moderate light source. The 6th tomb is most severe situation and the 7th tomb is the second in terms of algae living. Artificial change of the tomb environment since the excavation, infiltration of rain water and groundwater into the tombsite and bad drainage system had resulted in dangerous status for the tomb structure. Main cause for many problems including breaking of bricks, movement of tomb walls and algae living is infiltration of rainwater and groundwater into the tomb site. Therefore, protection of the tomb site from high water content should be carried out at first. Waterproofing method includes a cover system over the tomvsith using geotextile, clay layer and geomembrane and a deep trench which is 2 meter down to the base of the 5th tomb at the north of the tomv site. Decrease and balancing of soil weight above the tomb are also needed for the sfety of tomb structures. For the algae living inside tombs, we recommend to spray K101 which developed in this study on the surface of wall and then, exposure to ultraviolet light sources for 24 hours. Air controlling system should be changed to a constant temperature and humidity system for the 6th tomb and the 7th tomb. It seems to much better to place the system at frontal room and to ciculate cold air inside tombs to solve dew problem. Above mentioned preservation methods are suggested to give least changes to tomb site and to solve the most fundmental problems. Repairing should be planned in order and some special cares are needed for the safety of tombs in reparing work. Finally, a monitoring system measuring tilting of tomb walls, water content, groundwater level, temperature and humidity is required to monitor and to evaluate the repairing work.
This study was carried out to investigate the quality characteristics of pear jam containing fresh ginger(G1) and ginger powders; dried ginger powder(G2), freeze-dried ginger powder(G3), and hot-air dried ginger powder(G4). The moisture, crude protein, and crude ash content of the control group were significantly higher than those of the experimental groups (p<0.001, p<0.05, p<0.01). The pH of the dried ginger powder added jam(G2) was the lowest(p<0.05). Texture profile analysis found that the dried ginger powder added jam(G2) had the highest firmness, consistency, cohesiveness, and resistance to flow/viscosity among all samples(p<0.001). Regarding the spread-meter value of the pear jam, the control group (G1) and hot air-dried ginger powder added jam(G4) had the highest values. The dried ginger power added jam(G2) had the lowest value among the samples(p<0.01). Regarding the color values of the pear jam, the control group(G1) had the highest L and b values. Hot-air dried ginger powder added jam(G4), on the other hand, had the lowest(p<0.001). The opposite was true for a value: hot-air dried ginger powder added jam(G4) had the highest. From the sensory evaluation, a positive trend was observed for the appearance of the dried ginger powder added jam(G2)(p<0.001). For sweetness, the dried ginger powder added jam(G2) had the highest value. A positive trend was observed for the overall acceptability of the dried ginger powder-added jam(G2)(p<0.001). Therefore, the dried ginger powder-added sample(G2) seemed to be the most appropriate to make pear jam with high acceptability.

The experiment was carried out as one of the basic studies to improve the alkali-resistance of cement mortars and it was conducted to investigate some propetties of mortars relating to weight losses when exposed to 0.1 N salution of sodium hydroxide. The experiment and the results obtained are summarized as follow; 1. The specimens used in this experiment were made of 5 centi-meter cubes of mortar having such various ratios of mix by weight as 1 : 1, 1 : 3, 1 : 5, 1 : 7 and 1 : 10. 2. Physical tests included compressive strengths at 7 days, 28 days, 3 months, and 6 month, and 5 hour boiling absorption test. 3. In alkali test, every specimen was immersed into 0.1 N solutions of sodium hydroxide. The specimens exposed to the alkali solution were weighed to determine the weight losses of the alkail-corroded at one week interval for 7 week's exposure and the old alkali solutions were also changed to fresh solutions when weighed the weight losses by alkali attack at one week interval. 4. According to the alkail test after 7 week's exposure, no weight losses were observed on ratios of mix 1:1 and 1:3 and slight weight losses occurred on ratios of mix 1:5 and 1:7, but relatively large amount of weight losses were showed by 36.6 per-cent on ratios of mix 1:10. It was also found that the weight losses of the alkali-corroded were extremely lower than those of the acid-corroded at the some concentrations as 0.1 N of solutions. 5. In order to make better quality of alkali-resistant mortar it might recomend that a 1:7 mix or richemixes, use of small amount of mixing water for watertight, 20 per cent or less absorption by 5 hour boiling 1,600 kirogram per cubic meters or denser densities by absolute dry base are available for physical properties of mortar. It could conclude acid-resistant mortars were so high alkali-resistant, that it is expected to make and improve the acid-resistant mortars for getting rid of damages by alkali attack.
In many solute transport studies, either flux or resident concentration has been used. Choice of the concentration mode was dependent on the monitoring device in solute displacement experiments. It has been accepted that no priority exists in the selection of concentration mode in the study of solute transport. It would be questionable, however, to accept the equivalency in the solute transport parameters between flux and resident concentrations in structured soils exhibiting preferential movement of solute. In this study, we investigate how they differ in the monitored breakthrough curves (BTCs) and transport parameters for a given boundary and flow condition by performing solute displacement experiments on a number of undisturbed soil columns. Both flux and resident concentrations have been simultaneously obtained by monitoring the effluent and resistance of the horizontally-positioned TDR probes. Two different solute transport models namely, convection-dispersion equation (CDE) and convective lognormal transfer function (CLT) models, were fitted to the observed breakthrough data in order to quantify the difference between two concentration modes. The study reveals that soil columns having relatively high flux densities exhibited great differences in the degree of peak concentration and travel time of peak between flux and resident concentrations. The peak concentration in flux mode was several times higher than that in resident one. Accordingly, the estimated parameters of flux mode differed greatly from those of resident mode and the difference was more pronounced in CDE than CLT model. Especially in CDE model, the parameters of flux mode were much higher than those of resident mode. This was mainly due to the bypassing of solute through soil macropores and failure of the equilibrium CDE model to adequate description of solute transport in studied soils. In the domain of the relationship between the ratio of hydrodynamic dispersion to molecular diffusion and the peclet number, both concentrations fall on a zone of predominant mechanical dispersion. However, it appears that more molecular diffusion contributes to the solute spreading in the matrix region than the macropore region due to the nonliearity present in the pore water velocity and dispersion coefficient relationship.
