Recently, as network flooding attacks such as DoS/DDoS and Internet Worm have posed devastating threats to network services, rapid detection and proper response mechanisms are the major concern for secure and reliable network services. However, most of the current Intrusion Detection Systems(IDSs) focus on detail analysis of packet data, which results in late detection and a high system burden to cope with high-speed network environment. In this paper we propose a lightweight and fast detection mechanism for traffic flooding attacks. Firstly, we use SNMP MIB statistical data gathered from SNMP agents, instead of raw packet data from network links. Secondly, we use a machine learning approach based on a Support Vector Machine(SVM) for attack classification. Using MIB and SVM, we achieved fast detection with high accuracy, the minimization of the system burden, and extendibility for system deployment. The proposed mechanism is constructed in a hierarchical structure, which first distinguishes attack traffic from normal traffic and then determines the type of attacks in detail. Using MIB data sets collected from real experiments involving a DDoS attack, we validate the possibility of our approaches. It is shown that network attacks are detected with high efficiency, and classified with low false alarms.

This study analyzes the influence of the construction of a high-speed railroad on territorial organization in France. After development of a new transportation network, the French territorial organization has been largely modified. Many economic urban areas are modified by their position in the territorial hierarchy according to their condition of connection with the TGV network. At first, spatial convergence is the most important effect of the TGV network construction. Second, the development of a transportation network concentrated in the Paris area has influence as an intensified factor on metropolitan areas and as a weakening factor on middle- and small-sized cities. Thus, this system has risk in increasing territorial imbalance in France. Third, to implant an economic activity zone around new TGV stations, a new town or a new economic center starts to develop. This is going to grow into a second core outside of the old city center so that regional spatial organization is transformed from a mono-polarized(mono-centric) organization to a multi-polarized(polycentric) one. Lastly, the integration of the EU railroad system enhances the concentration of economic activity in European metropolitan areas as each metropolitan area tries to develop more competitive space for its rising position in the global urban hierarchical system.

In a MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching) network, it is important to reduce the number of labels and LSP(Lable Switched Path)s for network resource management. MTP(Multipoint-to-Point) LSP can be used to solve this problem. In consideration of traffic engineering, MTP LSP must be chosen to enhance the availability of network and link utilization. Also, a fast mechanism to setup MTP LSPs is required for rerouting capability against link failure. In this paper, we propose a fast MTP LSP traffic engineering of multipath MTP LSP by using a mapping of a MTP LSP upon Diffserv PHBs(Per Hop Behavior) in a Diffserv-capable MPLS network. In the proposed traffic engineering, we determine multiple MTP LSPs in a hierarchical manner according to the characteristics of different services. By using Monte-Carlo method for traffic load balancing process, it provides fast rerouting capability in case of frequent link failure across large network. Out method produces to be nearly optimal within reasonable run-times. It's time complexity is in O( Cn$^2$logn) as conventional multipath routing and it is much faster than Linear Programming approach. Simulation results show that the proposed traffic engineering can be controlled effectively in an administrative manner and enhance the availability of network in comparison with conventional multipath routing.
Supply network of automobile part is addressed with the e-invoices generated at real time. Automobile is composed of 8 modules. Firms which produce these modules are defined as the first outsourcing firm. Brake is the part of power control module and so, brake manufacturing firm is called the second outsourcing firm. In this paper, the third supply networks of brake manufacturing firms is analyzed with e-invoices and social network method. At the node-level, the third outsourcing firms are classified into 3 categories, interator, allocator and hub with respect to their role at the ego-network of each brake manufacturing firm. At the network level, A2, one of 3 brake manufacturing firms have more outsourcing firms and bigger centrality than the other brake manufacturing firms. Intre-firms trade patterns are, also, analyzed by using the degree of trade dedication with respect to the modes of business. It is shown that trade pattern of retail, commodity brokerage firm, rubber and plastic manufacturing firm are hierarchical trade because their degree of trade dedication is almost near to 1.

In this paper, we introduce a new design environment for efficient multiprocessor system-on-chip design space exploration. The design environment takes a process network model as input system specification. The process network model has been widely used for modeling signal processing applications because of its excellent modeling power. However, it has limitation in predictability, which could cause severe problem for real time systems. This paper proposes a new approach that enables static analysis of a process network model by converting it to a hierarchical synchronous dataflow model. For efficient design space exploration in the early design step, mapping application to target architectures has been a crucial part for finding better solution. In this paper, we propose an efficient mapping algorithm. Our mapping algorithm supports both single bus architecture and multiple bus architecture. In the experiments, we show that the automatic conversion approach of the process network model for static analysis is performed successfully for several signal processing applications, and show the effectiveness of our mapping algorithm by comparing it with previous approaches.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of entrepreneurship and personal characteristics on entrepreneurial intention and to analyze what factors influence the entrepreneurial intention through the moderating effects of social networks. So, the survey was conducted on 374 employees in their 30s or older. Descriptive statistics were used to understand the actual state of entrepreneurial intentions, and exploratory factor analysis was conducted to analyze the validity. In addition, a correlation analysis was conducted to identify relationships with variables, finally, a hierarchical regression analysis was performed to identify the effect of moderating social networks in entrepreneurship and personal characteristics. The study found that, firstly, Entrepreneurship was positively correlated with extroversion, achievement desire, self-efficacy, social network, entrepreneurial intention, and negatively correlated with introversion. Second, The extroversion of personal characteristics showed positive correlations with achievement desire, self-efficacy, social network, and entrepreneurial intention and negatively correlated with introversion. Introversion has a negative correlation with achievement desire, self-efficacy, social network, and entrepreneurial intention, and self-efficacy has a positive correlation with social network and entrepreneurship. Third, social networks have been shown to moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and entrepreneurial intention. Reflecting the results from this study, we expect that those preparing for future start-ups will be a meaningful reference to validate their capabilities and start them.
The purpose of this study is as follows. First, we investigate empirically the effects of social network properties such as social network density and centrality of a franchisee on its information sharing with various subjects such as the franchisor and other franchisees in the franchise system. Second, we examine exploratively if tie strength between a franchisee and its franchisor plays a moderating role on the relationship between social network properties and information sharing. The study model was established as shown in . We gathered 200 data from franchisees in Busan through a questionnaire survey and used 189 data for our purpose. To improve the quality of data, we selected respondents from the franchisees' owners or managers that had contacted often with their franchisor and other franchisees in the franchise system. Our data analysis began with reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, on the multi-item measures of social network density, social network centrality, tie strength, information sharing and control variables such as shared goals and ownership to assess the reliability and validity of those measures. The results were shown that the presented values satisfied the general criteria for reliability and validity. We tested our hypotheses using a hierarchical multiple regression analysis in four steps. Model 1 regressed the dependent variable(information sharing) only on control variables(shared goals, ownership). Model 2 added main effect variables(social network density, social network centrality) in Model 1. Model 3 added a moderating variable(tie strength) in Model 2. Finally, Model 4 added interaction terms between the main variables and the moderating variable in Model 3. We used a mean-centering method for the main variables and the moderating variable to minimize the multicollinearity problem due to the interaction terms in Model 4. Two important empirical findings emerge from this study. In other words, the effects of social network properties and tie strength on a franchisee's information sharing depend on subject types such as the franchisor and other franchisees in franchise system. First, social network centrality, tie strength, the interaction between social network density and tie strength and the interaction between social network centrality and tie strength all affect significantly a franchisee's information sharing with its franchisor. By the way, the interaction between social network centrality and tie strength has a negative effect on its information sharing while the interaction of social network density and tie strength has a positive effect on its information sharing. Second, both social network centrality affects significantly and directly a franchisee's information sharing with other franchisees in the franchise system. However, there does not exist the moderating role of tie strength in the second case. Finally, we suggest the implications of our findings and some avenues for future research.
Semantic similarity/relatedness measure between two concepts plays an important role in research on system integration and database integration. Moreover, current research on keyword recommendation or tag clustering strongly depends on this kind of semantic measure. For this reason, many researchers in various fields including computer science and computational linguistics have tried to improve methods to calculating semantic similarity/relatedness measure. This study of similarity between concepts is meant to discover how a computational process can model the action of a human to determine the relationship between two concepts. Most research on calculating semantic similarity usually uses ready-made reference knowledge such as semantic network and dictionary to measure concept similarity. The topological method is used to calculated relatedness or similarity between concepts based on various forms of a semantic network including a hierarchical taxonomy. This approach assumes that the semantic network reflects the human knowledge well. The nodes in a network represent concepts, and way to measure the conceptual similarity between two nodes are also regarded as ways to determine the conceptual similarity of two words(i.e,. two nodes in a network). Topological method can be categorized as node-based or edge-based, which are also called the information content approach and the conceptual distance approach, respectively. The node-based approach is used to calculate similarity between concepts based on how much information the two concepts share in terms of a semantic network or taxonomy while edge-based approach estimates the distance between the nodes that correspond to the concepts being compared. Both of two approaches have assumed that the semantic network is static. That means topological approach has not considered the change of semantic relation between concepts in semantic network. However, as information communication technologies make advantage in sharing knowledge among people, semantic relation between concepts in semantic network may change. To explain the change in semantic relation, we adopt the cognitive semantics. The basic assumption of cognitive semantics is that humans judge the semantic relation based on their cognition and understanding of concepts. This cognition and understanding is called 'World Knowledge.' World knowledge can be categorized as personal knowledge and cultural knowledge. Personal knowledge means the knowledge from personal experience. Everyone can have different Personal Knowledge of same concept. Cultural Knowledge is the knowledge shared by people who are living in the same culture or using the same language. People in the same culture have common understanding of specific concepts. Cultural knowledge can be the starting point of discussion about the change of semantic relation. If the culture shared by people changes for some reasons, the human's cultural knowledge may also change. Today's society and culture are changing at a past face, and the change of cultural knowledge is not negligible issues in the research on semantic relationship between concepts. In this paper, we propose the future directions of research on semantic similarity. In other words, we discuss that how the research on semantic similarity can reflect the change of semantic relation caused by the change of cultural knowledge. We suggest three direction of future research on semantic similarity. First, the research should include the versioning and update methodology for semantic network. Second, semantic network which is dynamically generated can be used for the calculation of semantic similarity between concepts. If the researcher can develop the methodology to extract the semantic network from given knowledge base in real time, this approach can solve many problems related to the change of semantic relation. Third, the statistical approach based on corpus analysis can be an alternative for the method using semantic network. We believe that these proposed research direction can be the milestone of the research on semantic relation.
The life time of a wireless sensor network composed of numerous sensor nodes depend on ones of its sensor nodes. The energy efficiency operation of nodes, therefore, is one of the crucial factors to design the network. Researches based on the hierarchical network topology have been proposed and evolved in terms of energy efficiency. However, in existing researches, application layer data obtained from sensor nodes are not considered properly to compose cluster, including issue that nodes communicate with their cluster heads in TDMA scheduling. In this paper, we suggest an energy-efficient topology control scheme based on application layer data in wireless sensor networks. By using application layer data, sensor nodes form a section which is defined as the area of adjacent nodes that retain similar characteristics of application environments. These sections are further organized into clusters. We suggest an algorithm for selecting a cluster head as well as a way of scheduling to reduce the number of unnecessary transmissions from each node to its cluster head, which based on the degree and the duration of similarity between the node's data and its head's data in each cluster without seriously damaging the integrity of application data. The results show that the suggested scheme can save the energy of nodes and increase the life time of the entire network.

The purpose of this study is to explore a significant HPWS(High Performance Work System) model for the entertainment industry. HPWS is one of the most studied themes for managing human resources as well as a set of practices to elicit employees' commitment to an organization. Recently, the entertainment industry is growing rapidly, but it is difficult for entertainment firms to retain a stable profit unlike the manufacturing industry. This is because the performance of entertainment business tends to rely heavily on the capabilities and synergy of human resources. In order to suggest a systematic way to manage these, this research identified an effective HPWS model for entertainment business and provides a competitive advantage to entertainment firms, using ANP(Analytic Network Process). ANP is a multicriteria decision making technique that allows dependences and feedbacks among decision elements in the hierarchical or network structures in a holistic manner. The pairwise comparison data that prioritized the criteria of HPWS was collected from 28 team leaders in entertainment firms. According to our results, the most critical factor for HPWS in entertainment business is "employee involvement in decision-making." The sub-factors such as "open communication," "distributive decision-making," and "performance-driven reward" have a greater effect. These findings could provide implications for entertainment firms to determine which practices should be taken into account to accomplish HPWS.
