Optimization of discrete event system in a temporal logic framework (시간논리구조에서 이산사건시스템의 최적화)

  • In this paper, we consider the optimal control problem based on Discrete Event Dynamic Systems(DEDS) in the Temporal Logic framework(TLF) which have studied for a convenient modeling technique. The TLF is enhanced with objective functions(event cost indices) and a measurement space is also defined. Our research goal is the design of the optimal controller for DEDSs. This procedure could be guided by the heuristic search methods. For the heuristic search, we suggested the Stochastic Ruler algorithm, instead of the A algorithm with difficulties as following; the uniqueness of solutions, the computational complexity and how to select a heuristic function. This SR algorithm is used for solving the optimal problem. An example is shown to illustrate our results.

  • A DEDS is a system whose states change in response to the occurence of events from a predefined event set. In this paper, we consider the optimal control and reasoning problem for Discrete Event Systems(DES) in the Temporal Logic Framework(TEL) which have been recnetly defined. The TLE is enhanced with objective functions(event cost indices) and a measurement space is alos deined. A sequence of event which drive the system form a give initial state to a given final state is generated by minimizing a cost functioin index. Our research goal is the reasoning of optimal trajectory and the design of the optimal controller for DESs. This procedure could be guided by the heuristic search methods. For the heuristic search, we suggested the Stochastic Ruler algorithm, instead of the A algorithm with difficulties as following ; the uniqueness of solutions, the computational complexity and how to select a heuristic function. This SR algorithm is used for solving the optimal problem. An example is shown to illustrate our results.

  • This paper presents a novel heuristic mechanism, Dynamic-network Adapted Cost selection (DAC-selection), which has higher backup path sharing rate, lower number of blocked channel requests and number of used wavelengths fer reservation of working path and backup path by using unique cost function than that of widely used random selection (R-selection) mechanism and Combined Min-cost selection (CMC-selection) mechanism proposed by Lo, while maintaining 100% restoration capability.

  • A collision avoidance algorithm based on a heuristic graph search and subgoals is presented. The joint angle space is quantized into cells. The evaluation function for a heuristic search is defined by the sum of the distance between the links of a manipulator and middle planes among the obstables and the distance between the end-effector and the subgoals on desired trajectory. These subgoals reduce the combinatorial explosion in the search space. This method enables us to avoid a dead-lock in searching. Its effectiveness has been verified by simulation studies.

  • This research deals with a task assignment problem to worker group which consists of one master and one assistant. Each task must be assigned to only one worker group and it is possible to make a pair of each master and each assistant to organize a worker group. A worker group may have more than one task assigned to it, but the workloads of each worker group must be balanced within the allowable range. This problem can be formulated mathematically using the Mixed Integer Programming(MIP), where the objective function is to minimize the total assignment cost. A two phase heuristic algorithm is suggested in order to find approximate solutions. The first phase is to obtain an initial solution, where the initial assignment is performed to follow the workload adjustment. In the second phase, the solution is improved through the repeated process of the exchange and the assignment adjustment. Numerical experiments have been performed to evaluate the performance of the heuristic algorithm.

  • In this paper, a method for the design of robust adaptive controller using the heuristic rules of industrial engineers is presented. This scheme works on the basis of heuristic rules and includes a supervisor, a system identifier and a detuner. The supervisor detects onsetting instability based on the analysis of the amplitude and the trend of error signal, also selects running controllers. Upon detecting instability, the controller is switched to a PID algorithm and run recursively until stability is restored. Simultaneously, new input / output data is gathered and the system identifier runs to get critical sensitivity (kc) and critical period(tc). Based on the new values(kc, tc), a GPC controller is redesigned and normal GPC is finally run. The algorithm described in this paper belongs to the supervised adaptive control category with a limited use of heuristic rules. Finally, we show the robust of this scheme by simulated example.

  • 실시간 정보가 알려지지 않은 해저환경에서 자율수중 운동체(AUV, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle)가 성공적인 임무 수행을 완료하기 위해서는 주어진 목표지점까지의 안전하고 효율적인 경로설정이 선행되어야 한다. 이를 위해 평가함수(evaluation function)에 기반한 휴리스틱 탐색(heuristic search)이 사용되는데 대부분의 평가함수는 목표점까지의 거리, 소모되는 연료로 구성된다[1]. 본 논문에서는 영역전문가가 보유한 장애물회피 관련 경험적 정보(heuristic information)를 반영하여 보다 효율적인 평가함수를 고안하며 후보노드들간의 관계성을 고려한 퍼지관계곱(Fuzzy Relational Products) 기반 휴리스틱 탐색기법을 제안한다. 제안한 탐색기법의 성능을 검증하기 위해 수행시간(cpu time), 경로의 최적화(optimization)정도, 사용 메모리 관점에서 시뮬레이션을 통해 $A^*$ 탐색기법과 비교한다.

  • To date, facility layout problems has been solved and applied for job shop situations. Since flow shop has more restrictions, the solution space is much smaller than job shop. An efficient heuristic algorithm for facility layout problems for flow shop layouts is needed to be developed. In this thesis, a heuristic algorithm for rectangular bay layouts in a flow shop situation is presented. The proposed algorithm is developed by using slicing tree representation and applied to various flow shop layout problems. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of exploration rate and objective function value are shown by comparing our results to simulated annealing.

Redesigning Radio Networks Considering Frequency Demands and Frequency Reassignment Cost (주파수 수요와 주파수 재할당 비용을 고려한 무선통신 네트워크 재설계)

  • In this paper, we present a frequency reassignment problem (FRP) arising from the reconfiguration of radio networks such as adding new base stations (BSs) and changing the number of frequencies assigned to BSs. For this problem, we develop an integer programming (IP) model that minimizes the sum of frequency reassignment cost and the cost for unsatisfied frequency demands, while avoiding interference among frequencies. To obtain tight lower bounds, we develop some valid inequalities and devise an objective function relaxation scheme. Also, we develop a simple but efficient heuristic procedure to solve large size problems. Computational results show that the developed valid inequalities are effective for improving lower bounds. Also, the proposed tabu search heuristic finds tight upper bounds with average optimality gap of 2.3%.

  • The idea of expert control is to incoporate a rule based expert system in a feedback control system. In this paper, We present some heuristic rules about input regulation and supervision and turning for D.C. servo motor speed control. The expert auto-turning PID Controller which Heuristic rules are used as an element of the feedback control system is implemented with the numerical algorithms and Heuristic logics. The robust and accurate control function is confirmed by computer simulation..
