  • Since the introduction of competition in the telecommunication market due to the growth of the interconnection between heterogeneous networks, particularly fixed and mobile networks, the interconnection charge based on traffic-sensitive (TS) and non-traffic-sensitive (NTS) costs has become more important. Although there have been many studies of the public switched telephone network (PSTN), previous studies of TS and NTS costs in mobile networks are very few. In this paper, as a pilot study, we propose three criteria and a procedure for the classification of TS and NTS costs based on mobile systems. The three criteria are the following: function type, investment requirement, and main exhaust driver. Moreover, for a CDMA mobile system, strongly TS, strongly NTS, and mixed components are classified by the proposed criteria and procedure. The proposed criteria, procedure, and classification can provide a systematic and useful guideline to decide the scope of mobile facilities and to determine the terminating cost on mobile networks from fixed networks.

  • With wide spending the Internet and Web techniques, we have recognized the necessary and commercial-value of electronic commerce system. Electronic commerce(EC) means the whole economical activities based on electronic medium. Both scalability and flexibility are fundamental attributes of EC system and interoperability among heterogeneous systems must be supported. So, for successful a developing of EC system, it is necessary to apply the CBD (Component Based Development) based on component assembling and customization. In this paper, we propose the method for identifying and specifying the components to construct the component based electronic commerce system. To do, we define the component/system architecture specified on EC domain, identified and classified the EC components with hierarchy relationship. Also, we suggested the specification notation and some examples.

  • A repository has been conceived as a critical weapon for managing organizational information resources. The system can help control the heterogeneous data in a variety of CASE (Computer-Aided Software Engineering) tools. However, current repository systems have limitation in creating a synergetic effect by integrating information resources. Therefore, it is important to develop an integrative repository system, called Enterprise Repository System (ERS). This paper (i) defines ERS on the basis of a framework for repository systems, and (ii) suggests an ERS architecture and its detailed components. Finally, a real-life case of developing ERP repository system is illustrated according to the proposed architecture and components. This illustration may demonstrate the usefulness of this research for help developing an advanced repository system.

  • In the chemical industry, in the pharmaceutical industry, and in a number of other industries separation processes are necessary to separate and purify products and raw materials [1,2]. Separation processes are also widely used in other applications such as in recycling valuable materials from waste streams. Unit operations for separation processes can be classified in phase separation techniques and component separation techniques based on the nature of the feed mixtures to be separated. The former techniques are used for the separation of heterogeneous mixtures, in which the feed is already present in two or more separated phases on a micro-scale. The latter are suitable for the separation of homogeneous mixtures such as gaseous mixtures and mixtures of completely miscible liquids. tn these cases the separation into individual components is generally achieved by utilizing the differences in physico-chemical properties of components, and is much more difficult compared to phase separation techniques. Separation processes such as distillation, evaporation, liquid-liquid extraction, and crystallization belong to this class.

  • Network intrusion detection is becoming an increasing necessity for both organizations and individuals alike. Detecting intrusions is one of the major components that aims to prevent information compromise. Automated systems have been put to use due to the voluminous nature of the domain. The major challenge for automated models is the noise and data imbalance components contained in the network transactions. This work proposes an ensemble model, Attribute Subset Selector Bagging (ASUB) that can be used to effectively handle noise and data imbalance. The proposed model performs attribute subset based bag creation, leading to reduction of the influence of the noise factor. The constructed bagging model is heterogeneous in nature, hence leading to effective imbalance handling. Experiments were conducted on the standard intrusion detection datasets KDD CUP 99, Koyoto 2006 and NSL KDD. Results show effective performances, showing the high performance of the model.

  • Since embedded software is very dependent for target hardware architecture, characteristics of the platform must be considered when designing the software. Furthermore, MPSoCs consists of heterogeneous hardware components that are specified in micro level. Thus mapping of embedded software for MPSoCs should be considered the characteristics. In this paper, we provide an approach to automatic mapping PIM (Platform Independent Model) of an embedded software to PSM(Platform Specific Model) for MPSoC(Multi Processor System On Chip) and verify its effectiveness with simulation. In the proposed approach, tasks are derived from an object oriented model based on the UML (Unified Modeling Language). And then the types of the derived tasks are identified. With the identified types and inter relationship between tasks, the tasks are assigned to appropriate heterogeneous hardware components. We expect that the approach improve accuracy of the assigning and concurrency of the deployed software.

  • Importance of coordination among heterogeneous devices is significantly increasing to meet the challenges presented by the evolvement of the ubiquitous computing environment. The web services technology is going up as a promising solution to support the inter-operability between such heterogeneous devices via well-defined protocol. Currently, ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rule based framework for coordinating devices is proposed, it is called as WS-ECA(Web Services-ECA) framework. This framework was basically based on the web services and proposed the ECA based rule language, And this also proposed the framework that could enable the device coordination based on proposed rule language. In this paper, we propose the protocol among the components of WS-ECA framework to support dynamic feature for ubiquitous environment, and we also propose WSDL extension to support service and event descriptions these are provided in components of this framework.

  • ebXML(Electronic Business XML) is a global eBusiness framework standard which provides solutions to interoperability problem between heterogeneous eBusiness systems. ebXML framework includes Business Process Specification, Core Components, Registry/Repository and Messaging Service as its major components. Based on this framework, ebXML business transactions are executed by exchanging appropriate business documents as specified in Business Process Specification. And required business documents are generated by assembling Core Components at the Business Process design time. In this paper, we present technical architecture of ebXML framework and Core Component technology, and then explain design and implementation issues of ebXML business document generation tool.

  • Development of Web service application requires the interoperability between various heterogeneous systems, extensibility to allow modification of business environment not of user interface, maintainability, flexibility and reusability As the properties of CBD (Component Based Development) have gradually become clear, attention has started to turn the smooth technology and methodology to solve the existing problems and issues the dynamic responds for the distributed web environments. In this paper, we identify some of the major architectural affecting CBD and describe the Design and Implementation of Security Framework for Application Server with Components. We identify the candidate components, model it using UML and layer it on the architecture. The frameworks will Provide the various security functions, such as incorporating with legacy security systems, supporting of J2EE, JAAS and Kerberos and assisting in increasing the tailorability of component.

  • Recently, large-scale enterprise information systems are commonly based on the multi-tiered middleware or frameworks to support such requirements as functional reuse, heterogeneous system resources, and multiple platforms. However, these multi-tiered or distributed multi-platform architecture incurs the interoperability issue of the components and metadata among the middleware. This paper introduces the Simple Object Application Framework (SOAF) which supports heterogeneous resources and platform-independent component-based development, with the abstract programming style of the object-oriented frameworks and the XML-SOAP based component persistence mechanism.
