Growth of ginseng and physical properties of soil were compared with bed height in experimental plots of sand loam for four year and clay loam soil for three year old ginseng plants, respectively. Field survey was also carried out to compare yield and soil physical properties with bed height in the same fold of six years old ginseng fields. High yield of ginseng root was observed at high bed both in the experimental plots and field survey as well. The rate of rusty root was significantly reduced at high bed. Soil porosity increased but soil hardness decreased at high bed.

In our country most of transmission lines are double-circuit lines. In these lines, the combining method of increasing conductor height and installation of passive shield-loop to mitigate magnetic field near a transmission line, is a good and feasible method. The basic principle of passive shield loop is that the field from the current induced in the shield loop conductors counteracts the field from the phase conductors. This method applied to domestic transmission lines to meet the magnetic field level, 100, 30, 10 and 4 mG, respectively. In each magnetic field level, the minimum conductor height and passive loop height are presented for the implementation of the practical design.
The present study has been conducted to estimate the chemical flame height based on fuel consumption in fire field model. The calculation algorithms based on cumulative fraction of HRRPUL and fuel concentration along the z axis were applied to the results predicted by Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) version 6.3.2 and the mean chemical flame height was obtained by time averaging of instantaneous flame height with the algorithms. The mean flame height calculated by fuel concentration was quite well matched with that of cumulative value of HRRPUL within 10% over-prediction. This study contribute to a more detailed understanding of fire behavior and quantitative evaluation of flame height in the computational fire model.

The present study suggests the application of a depth camera for wave height field measurement, focusing on the calibration procedure and test setup. Azure Kinect system is used to measure the water surface elevation, with a field of view of 800 mm × 800 mm and repetition rate of 30 Hz. In the optimal optical setup, the spatial resolution of the field of view is 288 × 320 pixels. To detect the water surface by the depth camera, tracer particles that float on the water and reflects infrared is added. The calibration consists of wave height scaling and correction of the barrel distortion. A polynomial regression model of image correction is established using machine learning. The measurement results by the depth camera are compared with capacitance type wave height gauge measurement, to show good agreement.

Global change and local fluctuation of earth's gravity field play important roles in accurate vertical positioning as well as in accurate horizontal positioning. Regarding the impotance, in this study, the concept of gravity potential theory connected with the influence of gravity field and every kind of height were discussed. Various kind of heights using the observed gravity and leveling data were computed and analysed to study the influence of earth's gravity field in accurate vertical positioning. Taking the route from Busan to Kyongju and investigating the ratios ($\Delta$H/dH) of height defferences (dH) between calculated heights considering gravity field and leveling height to relative heights (dH) between adjacent stations, we get the result that the values by correction formula increase linearly according to latitude, and the values by gravity potential ere strongly influenced by pseudo topography.
In this paper, we present a simple proof of Corollary 3.3 in [5] using the fact that for a K3 surface of finite height over a field of odd characteristic, the height is a multiple of the non-symplectic order. Also we prove for a non-symplectic CM K3 surface defined over a number field the Frobenius invariant of the reduction over a finite field is determined by the congruence class of residue characteristic modulo the non-symplectic order of the K3 surface.

For the evaluation of far-field performance by using the near-field probing on the base station dipole array antenna, the effects of mutual coupling depending on the heights between the array antenna with reflector and the probe were analyzed. When the height is varied in the near-field region, S parameters on the input ports of antenna and probe are measured and analyzed to decide the height for the minimum mutual coupling effect and the maximum probing efficiency. This height will be applicable to the near-field probing system design to achieve the precision far-field performance of a base station array antenna system.
This paper is aimed to find out the impact of the geometrical parameters, mainly the radius and the height of a cylinder, on the SGEMP response including the famous scaling law in the classical cylinder model using a homemade PIC code UNIPIC-3D. We computed the electric fields at the center and at the edge on the emission head face with different radii and heights under normal X-rays incidence. The results show that the electric field will increase with the radius but decrease with the height. We analyze the scaling law that links the electric field product and fluence product, and whereafter an irreconcilable contradiction raises when the radius is changeable, which limits the application range of the scaling law. Moreover, the field-height-radius relation is found and described by a combination of logarithmic and minus one-quarter numerical fitting law firstly. Particle and magnetic field distributions are used to explain all the behaviors of the fields reasonably. All the findings will assist the evaluation of SGEMP response in spacecraft protection.
Digital topographic map in Korea contains layers of spatial and attribute data for 8 land features such as railroads, watercourses, roads, buildings and etc. Some of the layers such as building and forest don't include any information about height, which can be just prepared by interpretation of remote sensed data or field survey. LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging) data using active pulse and digital camera provides data about height and form of land features. LiDAR data can be used not only to extract the outline of land features but also to estimate the height. This study presents technical availability for extraction and estimation of land feature's outline and height using LiDAR data which composes of natural and artificial land features, and digital aerial photograph which was taken simultaneously with the LiDAR. The estimated location, outline and height of land features were compared with the field survey data, and we could find that LiDAR data and digital aerial photograph can be a useful source for estimating the height of land features as well as extracting the outline.
Excessive soil water in paddy field induces growth losses during the vegetative stages of soybean plants. Our objectives were to know growth responses of soybean as affected by the level of ridge heights. A field experiment was conducted at the Research Farm of Korea University near Seoul in 1996. Ten cultivars of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) were planted at the ridge heights of 10, 30, and 50cm in paddy soil on 27 June. Total dry matter accumulation at the 10cm ridge height was severely decreased until the growth stage of R5 as compared to the ridge heights of 30 and 50cm, and this decrement was mainly due to both reduced leaf and stem dry weights. However, seed dry weight was not significantly decreased at the lower ridge height with the increment of harvest index. Cultivar differences were found on seed dry weight, crop growth rate from R1 to R5, and leaf/stem ratio of R5. From the above results, soybean growth responses to excessive soil water in paddy field were different between seed filling stage and late vegetative to early reproductive growth stages.
