Recently, the construction of underground structure such as a double-deck tunnel is increasing to manage rapid growth of roadway traffic volume. Double-deck tunnel includes middle slab to separate upper and lower road inside, and various sources affect the dynamic behaviour of middle slab due to dynamic loading of vehicle. Therefore, it is important to investigate the dynamic response of middle slab precisely to apply it to design and analysis of double-deck tunnel. In this study, dynamic analysis model of middle slab considering structural type, design velocity, vehicle load, and surface roughness, etc. is built. 3-dimensional dynamic analysis is performed to assess dynamic response of middle slab. Consequently, Dynamic Magnification Factor which represents dynamic response of middle slab shows maximum in case of elastomeric bearings (EB) and average roughness (Grade C). It is also expected that dynamic response can be reduced under the condition of good roughness (Grade B) and fixed bearings (FB).

The premixed burner is a very strong candidate for using household boiler burner system because it has high efficiency, low emission and can be used in compact boiler system. Usually, household boiler burner systems use a Bunsen burner, which consists of an inner rich premixed flame and fuel burned completely by a secondary air supply. It has a relatively long flame length and operates in a high excess of air, so it is difficult to fit such a burner into a high efficiency compact boiler. In this paper, the characteristics of a premixed combustion burner for surface media such as metal fiber, ceramic, and SUS fin were evaluated. In particular, the flow velocity over the burner surface for the cold flow characteristics of the surface material were measured and adjusted. The combustion tests were carried out by taking pictures of the flame and measuring the flame temperature. The amounts of CO and NO were measured and the characteristics of the surface burner materials, combustion chamber, and heat exchangers were evaluated for various excess air ratios and heating values.
Thermal comfort provide satisfaction of thermal environment and affects productivity of occupants in residential building. However, temperature control can not provide the thermal comfort at all the time. because thermal comfort is influenced by many environmental variables such as temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, radiation temperature, activity level and clothing insulation. The purpose of this study is that predicted mean vote(PMV) index is used as control. And, Thermal comfort is evaluated both PMV control and temperature control by simulation. Each other cases were compared, in which set-point temperatures of $22^{\circ}C$ and $24^{\circ}C$ and, set-point PMV index through the respective heating season in the simulation. The results show that PMV control is better to maintain comfort state and save energy than temperature control.
The use of electromagnetic wave has been interested in various energy industry because it enhances a flame stability and provides higher safety environments. However it might increase the pollutant emissions such as NOx and soot, and have harmful influence on human and environments. Therefore, it is very important to understand interaction mechanism between flame and electromagnetic wave from environmental point of view. In this study, an experiment was performed with jet diffusion flames induced by electromagnetic wave. Microwave was used as representative electromagnetic wave and a flickering flame was introduced to simulate the more similar combustion condition to industry. The results show that the induced microwave enhances the flame stability and blowout limit. The unstable lifted flickering flames under low fuel/oxidizer velocity is changed to stable attached flames or lift-off flames when microwave applied to the flames, which results from the abundance of radical pool. However, NOx emission was increased monotonically with increasing the microwave power as microwave power increased up to 1.0 kW. The effects might be attributed to the heating of combustion field and thermal NOx mechanism will be prevailed. Soot particle was examined at the post flame region by TEM grid. The morphology of soot particle sampled in the microwave induced flames was similar to the incipient soot that is not agglomerated and contain a lots of liquid phase hydrocarbon such as PAH, which soot particle formed near reaction zone is oxidized on the extended yellow flame region and hence only unburned young particles are emitted on the post flame region.
The natural convection heat transfers of a helical coil in a duct were measured experimentally varying the inclination. To achieve high Rayleigh number, mass transfer experiments instead of heat transfer experiments were performed based upon the analogy. The $Ra_D$ was fixed to $4.55{\times}10^6$. The turn numbers were 1~10. the pitch to diameter ratio were 1.3~5, and the inclination of the helical coil $0^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$. The measured $Nu_D$ for a single turn of the helical coil was very close to that from McAdams heat transfer correlation for a horizontal cylinder. The heat transfers of the helical coil were varied by the pith, number of turns, and duct height in a complex manner showing the velocity, chimney, and pre-heating effects. The results of the study contributes to the phenomenological analyses of the natural convection heat transfer of a compact heat exchanger.

This paper studied on the development of standardization tester for the field inspection of the rate of rise spot type heat detector. It was to find the problems of the 4 type's testers such as A type (electric bulb type), B type (halogen lamp type), C type (heating coil type), D type (fumigator type) which were used to check of the rate of rise spot type heat detector in inspection for the fire protection. To identify those problems, this paper described about the development of standardization tester for the field inspection of the rate of rise spot type heat detector and that have the function of auto setting temperature more $30^{\circ}C$ higher than room temperature and keep the constant temperature. And keep the constant wind velocity of 85cm/sec. Performance verification results of the developed prototype that had same conditions such as the sensitivity test conditions at the type approval of the rate of rise spot type heat detector.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze kinetic variables between thermotherapy and dynamic warm-up during drop-landing. Method: Twenty male healthy subjects (Age: 21.85 ± 1.90 years, Height: 1.81 ± 0.06 cm, Weight: 68.5 ± 7.06 kg) underwent three treatments applied on the thermotherapy of femoral muscles and a dynamic warm-up. The thermotherapy was performed for 15 minutes while sitting in a chair using an electric heating pad equipped with a temperature control device. Dynamic warm-up performed 14 exercise, a non-treatment was sitting in a chair for 15 minutes. Core temperature measurements of all subjects were performed before landing at a height of 50 cm. During drop-landing, core temperature, joint angle, moment, work of the sagittal plane was collected and analyzed. All analyses were performed with SPSS 21.0 and for repeated measured ANOVA and Post-hoc was Bonferroni. Results: Results indicated that Thermotherapy was increased temperature than other treatments (p = .000). During drop-landing, hip joint of dynamic warm-up was slower for angular velocity (p < .005), and left ankle joint was fastest than other treatments (p = .004). Maximum joint moment of dynamic warm-up was smaller for three joints (hip extension: p = .000; knee flexion/extension: p = .001/.000; ankle plantarflexion: p = .000). Negative work of dynamic warm-up was smaller than other treatments (p = .000). Conclusion: In conclusion, the thermotherapy in the local area doesn't affect the eccentric contraction of the thigh. The dynamic warm-up treatment minimized the joint moment and negative work of the lower joint during an eccentric contraction, it was confirmed that more active movement was performed than other treatment methods.

This paper provides the test results of bonding behavior of the interface between concrete substrate and carbon fiber in the rehabilitation method applying carbon fiber with epoxy based resin adhesive. The difference in each components was gradually increased subjected to the repetition of temperature variation, regardless of the strength of the substrate concrete, while the ultrasonic interface between each component occurred. An increase in difference of the temperature resulted in a decrease in bond strength of each component. Associated failure mode was shown to be interfacial failure and substrate concrete failure. No remarkable changes were found in the deformation and ultrasonic velocity of each component until the four cycles of the dry and moisture test. Hence, the moisture condition may not affect the bonding behavior of each component. After the repetition of dry and moisture test, corresponding bond strength was reduced to 40% of that before test. For the effect of freeze and thaw test, the cycle of freeze and thaw within 4 cycles resulted in debonding of each component.

In the MCFC power generation system, the combustor supplies a high temperature mixture of gases to the cathode and heat to the reformer by using the off-gas from the anode; the off-gas includes high concentrations of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$. Since a combustor needs to be operated in a very lean condition and avoid local heating, a catalytic combustor is usually adopted. Catalytic combustion is also generally accepted as one of the environmentally preferred alternatives for generation of heat and power from fossil fuels because of its complete combustion and low emissions of pollutants such as CO, UHC, and $NO_x$. In this study, experiments were conducted on catalytic combustion behavior in the presence of Pd-based catalysts for the BOP (Balance Of Plant) of 5 kW MCFC (Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell) power generation systems. Extensive investigations were carried out on the catalyst performance with the gaseous $CH_4$ fuel by changing such various parameters as $H_2$ addition, inlet temperature, excess air ratio, space velocity, catalyst type, and start-up schedule of the pilot system adopted in the BOP.

This study proposes non-destructive rebound-hardness and ultrasonic testing methods to more accurately evaluate the residual structural performance of reinforced concrete structures in a fire. Techniques are also proposed to assess the stiffness used in the deflection calculation with natural frequencies obtained by vibration tests. In the compressive strength evaluation using rebound hardness, the residual compressive strength of thick specimens and a larger water/cement (W/C) ratio were shown to be large. The homogeneity of concrete at high temperature compared to ambient temperature conditions was assessed by the velocity of ultrasonic waves that penetrate the concrete, and it followed W/C or thickness of slab makes little different results. To assess the stiffness of fire-damaged slabs and increase in deflection, the natural frequency was measured by vibration tests and incorporated into the equation of the stiffness. The application of this technique to the slab experiment showed that it can be a very reasonable evaluation technique. In addition, to evaluate the residual strength of a member after fire, a test of the strength of a component was carried out during and after heating.
