The turbulent natural convection in the membrane type LNG carrier cofferdam with heating points has been studied by numerical method. As the numerical methods, we introduced the three turbulence model, a standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model and two case of a low Reynolds number models. The parameters considered for this study ore number and capacity of heating points i.e., $1{\leq}Ns{\leq}12$ and $1.0{\times}10^5{\leq}Qs(W/m^3){\leq}1.0{\times}10^8$. The results of the isotherms and velocity vectors have been represented for various parameters. The temperature and velocity at upper position in the space ore shown to be higher than those at lower position. For obtaining the optimal temperatures, $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ in the cofferdam space, the heating capacities show $2.0{\times}10^7W/m^3$ at g-heating points and $1.0{\times}10^7W/m^3$ at 12-points. The mean temperature in the cofferdam space can be expressed as a function of number and capacity of heating points.

This Study shows the effect of the district heating on the $SO_2$ concentration reduction. In order to analyze the effect of the district heating, three alternatives were set up as follows; Alternative I represented present central heating system, and Alternative II and Alternative III represented district heating system of which the scale were different from. The concludions of this study are as follows; In case of the Alternative II and III, annual average $SO_2$ concentration are reduced by 9.0% and 14.6% respectively, and winter season $SO_2$ concentrations are reduced by 12.2% and 15.8% respectively, at the highest points. The average reduction rates of $SO_2$ concentration in the district heating area are about the same as the reduction rates at the highest points. Also, it was found that using the district heating system, the ground level $SO_2$ concentrations could be reduced within the area of 5 to 10 km radius.
The comparison of the air quality with the evaluation of the environmental assessment before and after operations of the heat source and of the flue-gas desulfurization facilities were studied. First of all, several sites were selected for the representative sample points, and then they were examined air quality of the surroundings. The results were that TSP(total suspended particulate) analysis after an operation of the heat source facility was $74~81{\mu}g/m^3$, PM-10 was $31~94{\mu}g/m^3$, and $SO_2$concentration was 0.002~0.009ppm, respectively. As the result of examination to the concentrations of diffused pollutants, there was no relations between TSP concentration of sample points and the effect of air quality according to the heating source. When we compared the neighbored area of the heating source with the other area, the concentration of air pollutants after an operation of the facility of the heating source was similar to the heating source, the neighbored area, and the other area. So we concluded that there was no the effect of the air pollution by producted pollutants from the heating source.
The reverse transformation behavior was investigated by DSC analysis in thermomechanically processed Fe-30%Ni-0.35%C alloy. Upon increasing the heating rate from $5^{\circ}C/min$ to $80^{\circ}C/min$, the As point of the ausformed martensite was not changed and the As point of the marformed martensite decreased at reverse transformation. The Af points showed to be constant with increasing the heating rate both in the ausformed martensite and in the marformed martensite. With increasing the deformation degree, the As points of the ausformed martensite and the marformed martensite increased and the Af points appeared to be constant, structures. The enthalpy changes increased with increasing the heating rate, but decreased with increasing the deformation degree in both structures.
In this study, theoretical analysis and evaluation tests were performed to assess the pipe stability against compaction equipments and vehicle loads when conventional construction criteria for pre-insulation heating pipes are applied and the alternative material, crushed sand, are used for backfills. The research outcomes shows that (1) the conventional code criteria for pre-insulated heating pipes is well established to support compaction equipments and vehicle loads, (2) the crushed sands as an alternative is usable as backfill materials for pre-insulated heating pipes based on the suitability evaluations of various types of pipes, and (3) the crushed sand agree well with the design consideration of pre-insulated heating pipes construction in the points of economical efficiency and construction criteria.
Objectives : Although the thermo-sensitivity test in Well points in 12 Meridians(井穴知熱感度測定法) has been used for several decades, it is still performed by a manual way, and lack in objectivity consequently. To make it more objective, accurate and convenient test, we have developed a novel system to test thermo-sensitivity in Well points. Methods : To enhance the blindness of the test, we made a shielded system which give heat to some fingers of subjects in random way. To perform the test in quantitative manner, we developed a fully automated, computer-controlled system composed of heating bulbs and response button array. Results : The developed system showed linearity in heating the finger phantom. It also gave acceptable but interesting features in pilot tests with several young adult subjects. Conclusions : By the developed system, we could improve objectivity and convenience of the thermo-sensitivity test in Well points.

In this Paper are described the indirect induction heated boiler and induction heated hot air producer using the voltage-fed series resonant high-frequency inverter which can operate in the frequency range from 20kHz to 50kHz. A specially designed induction heater, which is composed of laminated stainless assembly with many tiny holes and interconnected spot welding points between stainless plates, is inserted into the ceramic type vessel with external working coil. This working coil is connected to the inverter and turbulence fluid through this induction heater to moving fluid generates in the vessel. The operating performances of this unique appliance in next generation and its effectiveness are evaluated and discussed from a practical point of view.
This study aimed at developing control algorithms for operating a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling system with optimal system parameter set-points. Two artificial neural network (ANN) models, which were respectively designed to predict the heating energy cost and cooling energy amount for upcoming next control cycle, was developed and embedded into the control algorithms. Performance of the algorithms were tested using the computer simulation programs - EnergyPlus, BCVTB, MATLAB in an incorporative manner. The results revealed that the proposed control algorithms remarkably saved the heating energy cost by as much as 7.93% and cooling energy consumption by as much as 28.44%, compared to a conventional control strategy. These findings support that the ANN-based predictive control algorithms showed potential for cost- and energy-effectiveness of VRF heating and cooling systems.

A study was conducted in order to develope HACCP model in school lunch in Korea. Results: 1. Of 22 menus 4(18%) were non heating processes (#1), 2(9%) were food handling by using hands (#2), and 16(73%) were heating processes (#3). Of 279 menus 36(12.9%) belong to process #1, 8(2.9%) to process #2, and 235(84%) to process #3. 2. The critical control points for process #1 were contamination by hands of food handlers, and unsanitary food preparation habits of food handlers. Those for process #2 were improper heating temperature, contaminations by food handlers' hands, and unsanitary food handling habits, and cross contamination by unclean utensils and equipment. 3. Management criteria for the CCPs were conditions of food storage, refrigeration, freezing, food cooking temperature, personal hygiene, washing and sanitization of utensils and equipment. 4. Monitoring criteria for CCPs were observation, temperature checking, inspection of utensils and equipment, and practice of good personal hygiene. 5. Corrective actions were refusal of unsafe products, correction of improper temperature, proper cleaning and sanitization, and proper reheating time and temperature.
