BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Unhealthy food choices among young adults are common globally, and the incidence of chronic diseases, such as obesity, is rising. Food literacy (FL) is important for improving and maintaining individual health in a rapidly changing food environment and can form the basis for following a sustainable diet. Therefore, it is essential to improve FL among young adults, particularly college students, who are in the formative years of their lifelong food habits. This study examined the facilitators and barriers of FL and related dietary behavior among college students in South Korea. SUBJECTS/METHODS: This study recruited 25 college students with different residence types using convenience and snowball sampling. In-person, telephone, and video interviews were conducted from March to November 2021. The interview data were analyzed using framework analysis based on the socio-ecological model. RESULTS: At the individual level, prior good experiences with food were the most frequently mentioned facilitator. In contrast, the major barriers were a lack of knowledge, financial hardship, irregular schedules, and academic stress. At the interpersonal level, the influences of family and peers, such as early exposure to healthy eating habits and opportunities to have easy accessibility to farms and farming, are major facilitators, but the lack of a sense of community was the major barrier. At the environmental level, the major barriers were unfavorable food environments at home and in neighborhoods, such as the absence of kitchens in housing and large packaging of produce at markets. CONCLUSIONS: Many factors affected the students' FL and related healthy eating practices. These findings suggest that a campus-based FL program should be developed by reflecting on these facilitators and barriers.
Purpose: This study was conducted to understand the relationships among freshman nursing students' academic stress, depression, and physical activity. Methods: In this descriptive study, Freshman students sampled from 4 nursing colleges were surveyed using a structured questionnaire on academic stress, depression and physical activity during the period from May to June, 2015. Results: A positive correlation was observed between academic stress and depression, but no correlation was found with physical activity. Of the subjects, 24.3% had a moderate or severe level of depression. Depression and physical activity were different according to exercise. Conclusion: The results of this study show the importance of reducing academic stress and depression for freshman nursing students. Thus, it is necessary to develop and apply depression prevention education programs to reduce academic stress and depression so that freshman nursing students lead to a healthy campus life.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of cancer screening among subjects in the lung cancer screening cycle and to analyze the factors affecting the cancer screening of subjects in the lung cancer screening cycle. Methods: This study used the 'National Health and Nutrition Survey 7th Year (2017)' surveyed nationwide as the main data. The subjects are lung cancer screening projects, the dependent variable is early cancer screening, the independent variables are gender, age, marital status, household income level, education level, national health insurance type, private health insurance, The number of chronic diseases, general health examination, smoking status, drinking status, moderate intensity physical activity, stress perception rate, and weight control efforts were determined. Results: The results of this study showed that factors affecting early cancer screening of lung cancer screening subjects were gender, age, marital status, education level, national health insurance, smoking status, drinking status, moderate physical activity, and weight. Irrespective of the control effort, it was found that the private medical insurance, the number of chronic diseases, the medical examination, and the stress perception rate were affected. Conclusion: If the lung cancer screening subjects recognize the importance of early cancer screening themselves and create a social environment to increase their participation rate, lung cancer screening patients and their families will help them to live a healthy life.
Purpose: Pungsu is can be seen as an ecological architectural science regarding native natural environment of east asia. Even though the language used in Pungsu is different from that of ecological architecture, Pungsu considered the surrounding environment of the traditional house by various Pungsu method for making and keeping more healthy life and sustainable environment. The research is for finding out how the surrounding natural environment was considered with Pungsu, a traditional ecological architectural science in case of site selection and planning house by the confucian scholar in late Joseon period. Method: Sudan Nam-Gyu Lee's traditional house of Yesan in the middle of korea is selected. The study is processed as follows. The site was analyzed with feature and flow of mountains expressed as dragon in chapter 2 and four important hills around the house are analyzed in chapter 3. Finally Pungsu applied in architectural space is analyzed in chapter 4. Result: we can see that the traditional house of Sudang Lee Nam-Gyu has been planned considering Pungsu in details to minimize the negative factors and utilize the positive factors of nature as much as possible thinking nearby natural environment as environmental factors that can affect the residents of the house through Pungsu.
Phyllosticta melochiae, an endophytic fungus isolated from the healthy leaves of Melochia corchorifolia, was screened for the production of an anticancer drug, taxol on modified liquid medium and potato dextrose broth medium in culture for the first time. The presence of taxol was confirmed by spectroscopic and chromatographic methods of analysis. The amount of taxol produced by this fungus was quantified by high performance liquid chromatography. The maximum amount of fungal taxol production was recorded as $274{\mu}g/L$. The production rate was increased to $5.5{\times}1,000$ fold than that found in the culture broth of earlier reported fungus, Taxomyces andreanae. The fungal taxol extracted also showed a strong cytotoxic activity in the in vitro culture of tested human cancer cells by apoptotic assay. The results designate that the fungal endophyte, P. melochiae is an excellent candidate for an alternate source of taxol supply and can serve as a potential species for genetic engineering to enhance the production of taxol to a higher level.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide the basic materials to form sense of value for health and to emphasize the importance of physical education by comparative analysis of physique, physical fitness, body composition and blood. Methods: The subjects were 188 female college students and they were classified 3 groups by BMI: lower weight group (LWG), normal weight group (NWG), and over weight group (OWG). Results: In the physique, there was significantly high in order LWGNWG, OWG in unbalance of the upper and lower parts of the body, and LWG, OWGNWG, OWG in HDL-C. Conclusions: In the result of this study, it is recognized that regular exercise as well as eating right, life style are needed and offered to take part in the exercise programs for healthy campus life of female college students.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the change in tensile strength characteristics of the weld when the welding speed and rotational speed of the tool, which are representative variables of the friction stir welding process. The equipment used in the experiment was Machining Center No. 5. The material used in the experiment is an AA6061-T6 alloy, and a rolled plate with a thickness of 2mm was used. Two experimental variables were selected, the welding speed of the tool and the rotational speed of the tool. The experimental conditions were selected in the range in which a healthy weld could be obtained through a preliminary experiment. The welding speed of the tool was increased to 100mm/min, 200mm/min, and 300mm/min, and the rotational speed of the tool was increased to 1000rpm, 2000rpm, and 3000rpm. As a result of the experiment, the tensile strength increased as the rotational speed of the tool changed at each tool welding speed. In addition, as the welding speed of the tool increased, the tensile strength of the weld was increased. The condition with the highest tensile strength of the weld was found to be a tool feed speed of 300 mm/min and a tool rotation speed of 3000rpm.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of appearance stress, job-seeking stress, and college life stress on eating attitude in nursing students. Methods: Data were collected in September and October of 2017. A total of 153 fourth-year nursing students were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SAS 9.2. Results: The mean score for eating attitude was 2.71±0.56. From the univariate analysis, appearance, job-seeking, and college life stress scores were all significantly related to eating attitude (r=.26, .35, .30 respectively, and p for all <.001). After controlling for covariates, job-seeking stress and college life stress were significantly related to eating attitude (β=.20 and 0.17 respectively, and p=.005 and .024 respectively). Among the covariates, experience of diet and physical anxiety were significantly associated with eating behavior (β=.33 and .24 respectively, and p<.001 and .008 respectively). Conclusion: Job-seeking stress had the biggest influence on eating attitude, followed by college life stress. Therefore, in order to promote healthy eating attitudes in fourth-year nursing students, preventive measures focusing on decreasing job-seeking stress should be considered as a top priority.

This paper presents the outcome of a survey done in two colleges of education in Kumasi, Ghana to determine the reading habits of students. A questionnaire was conveniently administered to the third-year students of Wesley College of Education and St. Louis College of Education all in Kumasi the capital of Ashanti Region of Ghana. One hundred and sixty-two copies of the questionnaire were administered to the students in the two colleges. The study found that both parents and tutors influence students reading at the same rate, in both colleges students read an average of one book in two months which was not encouraging with the most preferred reading materials being course books followed by textbooks and fiction. Their purpose of reading is to broaden their knowledge, and to pass examination. They choose busy schedule on campus and too much academic work as the reasons which affect their reading habits. Furthermore, it was revealed that, too much family responsibilities and lack of conducive environment were major constraints that restrict their reading at home. The study recommends the following to enhance reading habits of the students: parents should create healthy surrounding for learning; students should also be motivated to read through the formation of reading clubs and group presentation of assignment.
