Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by the 826 adolescents from March 5 to 16, 2012 in J city. Results : Higher self-esteem(${\beta}$=0.186) was closely related to higher oral health-related quality of life(p<0.001). Dental fear had indirectly influenced on self-esteem and self-regulation, and had significant differences(p<0.05). The model showed that dental fear and oral health-related quality of life were a suitable structural model due to higher fit indices. Conclusions : Self-esteem and self-regulation were the important variables to oral health-related quality of life. There was a close relationship between the dental fear and oral health-related quality of life.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating and moderating effects of fall-related efficacy and social support on the relationship between frailty and health-related quality of life among rural community-dwelling elderly. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a convenient sampling method, and data of 438 elderly residents living in a rural community was used. The structured questionnaire included items from the Euro Quality of life-5 Dimensions (mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort, anxiety/ depression), fall-related efficacy and social support. Results: Analysis of the mediating effect of fall-related efficacy and social support showed that there was significant mediating influence of fall-related efficacy on the relationship between frailty and health-related quality of life. There were no moderating effects of fall-related efficacy and social support. Conclusion: The findings suggest that fall-related efficacy may play a role in reducing the effect of frailty on health-related quality of life and underscore the need to consider ways of enhancing fall-related efficacy in interventions for rural community-dwelling frail elderly.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of depression, optimism and posttraumatic growth on health-related quality of life in female breast cancer survivors received adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods: In total, 115 female breast cancer survivors participated in this descriptive correlational study. The participants answered self-report questionnaires. Data were collected from 1 June 2020 to 10 June 2020, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS for Windows ver. 24.0. Results: The mean age of the breast cancer survivors was 45.83 years. The mean score for the degree of health-related quality of life was 81.85 out of 148 points. Participants' scores for health-related quality of life differed significantly based on economic status (F=5.36 p=.006) and hobbies (t=-3.37, p=.001). Health-related quality of life was negatively correlated with depression (r=-.73, p<.001), and positively correlated with optimism (r=.65, p<.001) and posttraumatic growth (r=.28, p=.002). Depression (𝛽=-.55, p<.001) was the most significant factor that affects health-related quality of life, followed by optimism (𝛽=.29, p<.001), and post-traumatic growth (𝛽=.12, p=.048), which together accounted for 62.2% (F=63.61, p<.001) of the variance. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop educational programs for breast cancer survivors to reduce depression, increase optimism and post-traumatic growth, and improve the health-related quality of life. By adapting these programs, positiveness may increase and this may lead to improvement of health-related quality of life for breast cancer survivors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the health-related quality of life of premature menopausal women with that of normal postmenopausal women and to identify factors related to quality of life in these two groups. Methods: A secondary analysis was conducted of a sample of 5,910 postmenopausal women drawn from women aged 19-79 years, using raw data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey between 2014 and 2017. Quality of life was compared between premature menopausal women and normal postmenopausal women using the t-test and chi-square test, and factors related to quality of life were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression using SAS version 9.4. Results: There was no significant difference in quality of life between premature menopausal women and normal postmenopausal women. Subjective health status and symptoms of depression were identified as factors related to quality of life in women with premature menopause, while engaging in aerobic physical activity, subjective health status, stress, and symptoms of depression were found to be related to quality of life among normal postmenopausal women. Conclusion: It is necessary to support self-care measures for both premature and normal menopausal women to adapt to changes caused by menopause, and multidimensional strategies should be developed considering postmenopausal women's subjective health status and symptoms of depression to improve their quality of life.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of subjective systemic health status and health behavior on the oral health-related quality of life through a convergence study. The data collected by a survey on adults living in Busan Metropolitan City were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The oral health-related quality of life of the non-smoking group was higher than that of the smoking group, and the oral health-related quality of life was higher in the high group for the subjective systemic health status and health behavior than in the low group. Subjective systemic health status and health behavior both were found to have a positive (+) influence on oral health-related quality of life, and especially the subjective systemic health status had a greater influence. Therefore, as the improvement of oral health-related quality of life is expected through systemic health, it is considered that development of convergence education programs could be an important medium to educate the associated importance of systemic health and oral health.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of anxiety, depression, social support, and physical health status on the health-related quality of life of Korean pregnant women using Spilker's quality of life model. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with a correlational design. The participants included 166 pregnant women who were recruited via convenience sampling at two healthcare centers in South Korea. Questionnaires were collected from April 22 to May 29, 2023, in two cities in South Korea. The EuroQol-5D-3L, General Anxiety Disorder-7, Patient Health Questionnaire-2, Perceived Social Support through Others Scale-8, and EuroQol visual analog scale were used to assess the study variables. The t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression tests were conducted using IBM SPSS ver. 26.0. Results: Statistically significant correlations were identified between the health-related quality of life of pregnant women and anxiety (r=.29, p<.001), depression (r=.31, p<.001), social support (r=-.34, p<.001), and physical health status (r=-.44, p<. 001). Physical health status (β=-.31, p<.001) and social support (β=-.21, p=.003) had the greatest effect on health-related quality of life (F=15.50, p<.001), with an explanatory power of 26.0%. Conclusion: The health-related quality of life of pregnant women was affected by social support and physical health status. This study demonstrated that physical health and social support promotion can improve the health-related quality of life of pregnant women. Healthcare providers should consider integrating physical health into social support interventions for pregnant women in the post-pandemic era.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify latent classes of health-related quality of life trajectories in middle-aged women and investigate predictors for latent classes. Methods: This study utilized data from the 2nd, the 4th to the 7th Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families. The subjects included 1,351 women aged 40~45 years. The data was analyzed using latent class growth analysis and logistic regression. Results: Two trajectories were identified for health-related quality of life in middle-aged women; 'persistently good' and 'increasing' groups. Predictors for the 'increasing' group were lower economic status, higher depression, and lower perceived health status. Conclusion: This study showed that characteristics of the individual, symptom status, and health perceptions were associated with health-related quality of life in middle-aged women. It is necessary to provide effective intervention for latent classes of health-related quality of life trajectories based on physical, mental, and social factors.

Methods: The integrative review method of Whittemore and Knaf was used. Data search was conducted on papers published before September 2020, and RISS, NDSL, and KISS were used for the search. Results: Fourteen studies were selected for analysis. Five factors affecting the mental health-related quality of life of workers were found. Mental and physical health status, job stress, working environment, health behaviors, and other personal and socio-economic characteristics were significant influencing factors. Conclusion: Findings from the review suggest the necessity of developing a customized intervention program to improve the mental health-related quality of life of workers.
