  • Background: As one of the most frequently occurring accidents in a chemical plant, a fire accident may occur at any place where transfer or handling of combustible materials is routinely performed. Methods: In particular, a jet fire incident in a chemical plant operated under high pressure may bring severe damage. To review this event numerically, Computational Fluid Dynamics methodology was used to simulate a jet fire at a pipe of a compressor under high pressure. Results: For jet fire simulation, the Kemeleon FireEx Code was used, and results of this simulation showed that a structure and installations located within the shelter of a compressor received serious damage. Conclusion: The results confirmed that a jet fire may create a domino effect that could cause an accident aside from the secondary chemical accident.

  • For structural health monitoring of a complex shaped structure a new sensor that can compensate for the drawbacks of the current sensors such as brittleness is needed and the sensor should be highly flexible and durable. In this study a textile sensor made of polyvinylidene fluoride trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) which is a type of electroactive polymer was fabricated. And the textile sensors were applied to a complex shaped structure (an egg-box panel made of carbon/epoxy composite) for checking their feasibility of structural health monitoring. To correlate the collapse response with failure mechanisms of the structure the multiply-interrupted compressive test was carried out. During the test, the textile sensors succeeded to prove their applicability for damage detection (crack initiation) by generating electric voltages (0.05 V-0.25 V) in the real time.

  • Health, a major concept in nursing, has not yet consistent or agreed upon definition. Although effective health care depends on clear communication between health care provider and client clear definition of health would enhance the promotion of quality in health care. There are no agreed definitions or criteria for overall health. An essentialstep would seem to be to determine commonly held meaning about the concept of health. Therefore, the study was aimed at identifying the Adult's perceptions of health concept. The subject's consisting of 312 adults, who were sampled through area sampling from May 10 to May 30,1988. The instruments used for this study were Health Conception Scale, which was developed by Smith, Laffrey's revised and tested its reliability. The data was Analyzed by S.P.S.S. program and the results were as follows ; 1. The results of the reliability test for content of health concept was $\alpha$=.87. 2. The respondents perception of Health Meaning were inclined to emphasize the functional / role performance dimension rather than clinical dimension. 3. The perceptual level of health concept was proved to be significantly different by the variable : age, sex, religion, area marital status. In conclusion, adult's perception of Health Concept is revealed that functional and role performance dimension is more important than other dimensions. Futher study is necessary to clarify the structure of functional, adaptive, eudaimonistic dimension and systematic study with subculture will be and repetitive verification and modification of this tool is demanded.

  • This research study explores the job stress, job satisfaction, and health of women who works in the professional work place and identify the influence of the job stress and job satisfaction on the mental health status focused on the social and psychological structure of the workplace. Method: 535 participants of registered nurses and teachers from 10 General Hospitals and 15 Middle and High School located in Seoul, Korea were completed the modified version of the short form Work-family stress inventory of questionnaire as used for job stress and mental health problems and perceived overall health status and job satisfaction. Result: Job stress was significantly correlated with job satisfaction, overall health, and mental health. There were also significant group differences in job stress and job satisfaction between nurses and teachers. Multiple regression only moderately supported the effect of job stress and job satisfaction on the mental health of professional working women. Also marital status demonstrated a significant factor of group differences in job stress, work-family stress, job satisfaction, and mental health problem. Conclusion: These results suggest that job stress in the work place has profound impact on job satisfaction and health of women who work in the professional job. This study also identified major sources and types of work-related stress on women's health which should be considered in a management for health promotion.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the health and socioeconomic status of single-parent and partnered families, and examined the intersection between sex and single-parent status focusing on inequalities of health and socioeconomic status. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study using the data from the nationally representative 2005 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. A total of 14,827 respondents had custody of their own children and other family members (13,943 were coupled families and 891 were single-parent). Results: Our result indicate that single-parent had poorer health status and were more likely to have lower educational attainment, lower household income, no home ownership and be unemployed. However, the association between single-parent status and socioeconomic and health inequality were in divergent ways according to sex. The most socioeconomically disadvantaged were single-parent women. Inequalities in health differ markedly by sex but vary little according to single-parent status. Conclusions: An uneven distribution of socioeconomic resources might help us to understand why single-parent, both women and men, have worse health than parents who live together. Previously recognized sex gap with regard to health status also might help us to understand the difference in health between single-parent men and single-parent women found here.

  • On health information network architecture, traffic along the path of traffic and security, blocking malicious code penetration is performed. The medical information system network security infrastructure study, which was whether to be designed based on the structure and methodology is designed to develop the security features. Health informati on system's functionality and capabilities framework for infrastructure is the backbone and structure. The design fea tures a framework for the overall network structure formation of the skeleton and forms the basic structure of the security methodology. Infrastructure capabilities to build the framework and the application functionality is being implemented. Differentiated in accordance with security zones to perform security functions and security mechanisms that operate through this study is to present. u-Healthcare future advent of cloud computing and a new health information environment, the medical information on the preparation of this study is expected to be utilized for security.
