Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine potential differences in pre-hospital cases of cardiac arrest and drug Intoxication between elderly group and non-elderly group on local emergency activity sites of rescue 119 team for those cases, so that it can provide useful reference materials for a system of corresponding emergency medical services. Methods: Patients with cardiac arrest and drug intoxication in the elderly and the non-elderly group were analyzed by analyzing the Ambulance Run Report for 3 years from January 2007 to December 2009. Results: According to analysis on potential differences between elderly and the non-elderly group, it was found that there was no significant difference between elderly cases (evacuated to hospital due to cardiac arrest and drug poisoning) and non-elderly cases in year of onset (p = .247), quarter of onset (p = .813), sex (p = .235), consciousness state (p = .126), place of onset (p = .215) and number of first aid services (applied to emergency cases) respectively, but there were significant differences between elderly cases and non-elderly cases in guardian availability (p = .042), time zone of onset (p = .050), distance from the site of onset (p = .278), type of onset (p = .000), number of first aid services depending on distance of evacuation (p = .008) and effectiveness of emergency care (p = .003) on statistical basis. Conclusion: It is important to establish a system of early emergency case reports for rational emergency case management with lower mortality; shorten distance from the site of onset at each time zone of onset in emergency cases; employ more emergency team members; facilitate firsthand / secondhand medical instructions for emergency teams in specialized emergency care depending on distance of evacuation for each kind of onset (elderly group vs. non-elderly group); and improve rate of resuscitated emergency cases by extending the scope of works for emergency medical technicians into wider applications, so that it will be possible to take timely and appropriate measures for emergency settings of ever-increasing aged population in near future.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the awareness toward use and service contents of long term care for the elderly. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 296 adults from August 13 to October 20, 2014. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, awareness toward long term care insurance for the elderly, awareness toward long term oral health care services, use of long term care service and use intention for the long term care insurance. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Those who were aware of the long term care insurance accounted for 55.4 percent. Approximately 50 percent of the respondents recognized long term care service items, home visit care, home visit bathing, and home visit nursing. Most of the respondents had information of long term care services by way of mass media and direct contact. Only 13.4 percent of the respondents were aware of the oral health service in the long term care insurance. The subjects were aware of denture cleaning, oral cleaning and oral health education out of oral health service in order; and oral health services that needed to be offered were denture cleaning, oral health education and professional toothbrushing. They reported that dental hygienists were the most important manpower that offered the efficient oral health care services. They answered that professional manpower and financial support are required for oral health services. The positive thinking to long term care insurance accounted for 89.2 percent and 91.3 percent had use intention for oral health services. Conclusions: Many elderly people have mastication or dysphagic problems due to systemic diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to announce the long term care insurance and long term care services for the elderly people.

Methods: The data were collected through in-depth interviews, with a purposeful sample of twelve in an urban community. The collected information was analyzed through grounded theory approaches by Strauss and Corbin. Results: Though open coding process, 35 concepts, 17 subcategories, 8 categories were identified. As for the participation experience process, four stages had surfaced, namely, 'Perception of chronic disease', 'Concerned about health', 'Developing life pattern', 'Restoring health'. These processes were within 'Restoring Health Equilibrium', core category. Consequently, the participants revealed in restoring relationship-oriented life and settling in family-focused life. The ageing problem of the population has been emerging in Korea since 1970's so that it is expecting the elderly 65 years and over among the total population from $4.5\%$ in 1988 to be $6.3\%$ in year 2000. This study was conducted to provide secure policy development in coming years for the aged on medical and health care aspects based on the examining current status of the aged problems and health care policies and systems. The study divided into four parts; The first part examined the medical insurance program and public assistance program of the health services in relation to the aged. The second part emphasized on reduction of medical care cost for the aged. The third part studied the regular health check-up program and health education for the aged. The fourth part examined the chronic disease management programs for the aged and strategies of the health care service quality improvement and specialized programs. The following recommendations made as the results of the study. 1. At present, the medical insurance program and public assistance program for the medically indigent is not appropriate to the elderly because it is a part of general medical insurance program so that Health Security Law for the Aged is proposed. 2. Medical cost will be increased due to the high occupancy rate of hospital beds and long stay of the elderly so that it is recommended to develop an early discharge program, home health care program, Health hospice and an althernative programs. 3. At present, a regular health check-ups for the elderly is not included in medical insurance program so that it is recommended to be included in the insurance program and at the same time health education program thoroughly developed for the aged. 4. To make proper medical and nursing services on chronic diseases for the elderly, it is recommended manpower development, specialized clinics or hospitals, nursing homes and an equivalent long term care facilitices should be established on the community based and a research institutions also to be related to supper the care programs.

This study found a relationship between the characteristics of the elderly with disabilities and extra health care monthly costs caused by disability and suggests methods for effectively managing health care spending of the elderly with disabilities. This study used data from the 2011 Survey on the Disabled conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. The results of the analysis indicate that the relations between the socio-demographic characteristics of the elderly with disabilities and extra health care monthly costs caused by disability of the elderly are influenced by factors such as gender, age, members of the household, average monthly income and type of health insurance. Elderly people with disabilities spend too much for their medical care. To solve this problem, the government needs to find a variety of policy approaches to improve administrative procedure, establish a medical delivery system and enhance health care services.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reduce loneliness through a systematic review by analyzing the effectiveness, composition and method of non-face-to-face services on the elderly living in the local community. Methods: From June 11 to 15, 2021, related papers were searched using six databases: Ovid-Medline, Ovid-Embase, Cochrane library, KISS, Koreamed, and RISS. Two authors independently assessed the quality of selected studies and data was synthesized. Results: Non-face-to-face services promoted loneliness and social isolation, social support and quality of life, other emotional responses, attitudes and usability, and diet and exercise. As the composition and method of services are being tried in various ways, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive service using ICT to provide systematic intervention to the elderly in the local community. Conclusion: Reflecting the difficulties in implementing face-to-face services due to COVID-19, it is expected to be used as basic data for developing comprehensive non-face-to-face services that meet the major needs of the elderly people and maintain the continuity of care.
