  • Most current 3D digital maps are 2.5 dimension models based on DEM, which can only be recognized, browsed and operated by a special software, far from meeting the needs of a modern digital city (global) with the distributed, isomerous and multiple application on the real 3D representation and open sharing models. In this paper, a new generation digital city oriented 3D digital map is studied. Firstly, a real 3D digital map representation is presented. And then, some key techniques and methods for browser-based 3D digital map’s representation, display and operation are introduced, which can realized the open sharing of 3D map in distributed, isomerous and multiple application environment. Furthermore, the scale driving technique of proposed 3D digital map is also studied. And currently, some developments based on some of the above methods are being carried to provide key and general platform for other application software’s development.

  • The paper deals with the design and implementation of Navigational Aids Training Simulator (VR-NATS) by Virtual Reality (VR). To gave interaction and immersible training situation to the user, prototype VR-NATS was developed based on the object-oriented operating system with 3D objects of navigational aids. Using the VR-NATS we created virtual navigational aids. As results from the assessment tests, students can obtain IALA (International Association of Lighthouse Authorities) rules of the navigational aids exactly and quickly comparing with conventional education methods. Thus, we found that he proposed VR-NAT is very effective for the next-generation simulation system.

  • The graphite tube nozzle has been developed for the generation of metastable He jet by which the nitrogen molecules initially excited in a jet with Engelking type nozzle have been further excited in a corona excited supersonic expansion. The excitation process of nitrogen molecules in the jet collision has been discussed in detail by observing the emission intensity from the vibronic emission spectra of nitrogen molecules and nitrogen molecular ions upon helium jet collision.

  • Objectives : Yoondongri is a famous Korean medical doctor in the 18th century. He wrote Chochangkyeul, a special medical book which records his treatment based on the theory of Ungi. Nevertheless, his life and his book have not received due research it deserves. Methods : The paper studied the family tree as revealed in the Papyeong Yoon clan and Chochangkyeul. Further study was done on Yoon's medical theories and clinical features as discovered in Chochangkyeul and Ungiyeonron. Results & Conclusions : Very little is known about Yoondongri other than that he is the 27th generation from the progenitor of the Yoon clan of Papyeong Yoon clan, and that he is the great grandchild of Choongheon-gong Yoon Jeon. One of the important elements of his Ungi theory is Owoon Habgi, which illustrates the integration of Gabsin, Muui, Byeonggye, Gyungjeong, and Yimgi, thereby forming one Ilki. Ilki signifies that mechanisms of disease are inter-connected and one in essence. As the core of his clinical practice, he explains the 25 different types of diseases that can afflict those who are born in the years Gabsin, Muui, Byeongye, Gyungjeong, and Yimgi when they are met with their corresponding year. Yoon described for each script the mechanism of disease, symptom, treatment, and prescription, all of which showcases his status as a great clinical practitioner. His application of Ungi theory is uncomplicated and accessible. His method was also highly effective, the likes of which were unseen even in China and Japan. His prescriptions are mainly based on the Ungi treatment found in Jinmutaek's Saminang, and on Donguibogam.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the anti-oxydant and anti-winkle efficacy as cosmetics ingredient of Lysimachia christinae Hance. Recently, the study of wrinkle improvement of natural products has received continuous interest. so we looked at relationship between reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and pro-collagen synthesis and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) through this study. L. christinae Hance were extracted with 70% ethanol (LcHE) and distilled water (LcHW), respectively, and the experiment was conducted. LcHE had better ROS inhibition effect than LcHW and showed no toxicity up to 250 ㎍/mL concentration as a result of MTT assay in HaCaT cells, so we selected LcHE and conducted the wrinkle improvement material study. We confirmed that the synthesis of type-1 pro-collagen reduced by UVB is activated through pro-collagen synthesis assay. we confirmed that LcHE inhibited the increase in MMP-1 -3 -9 of MMPs induced by UVB in skin cells through western blot and we also performed real-time PCR to confirm the effect of the extract with dependence of concentration at mRNA levels. Therefore, it is expected that Lysimachia christinae Hance is used as a natural material for cosmetics that can effectively prevent wrinkles and skin aging by UVB.

  • To clarify the usefulness of fluorescent diagnosis for cancer, We investigated the optimal method of administrating 5-aminolevulinic acid(5-ALA) by analyzing fluorescence signal of Protoporphyrin IX(PpIX) in the cultured normal and cancer cells. 5-ALA was injected as a photosensitizer to the cervico-uterine cancer cell line(HeLa) and in normal liver cells(Chang). Chang and HeLa cells were incubated with various concentrations of 5-ALA($0-800{\mu}g/ml$). The accumulation of PpIX induced by 5-ALA was in HeLa and Chang cells. The cell viability was measured by MTT assay. The optimal concentration of ALA that induced maximum levels of PpIX was $50{\mu}g/ml$ in HeLa cell cultured for 24 hours after 5-ALA injection. Fluorescence of PpIX in HeLa cell was excited at a wavelength(${\lambda}$=410 nm) and showed an emission spectrum at 602.3 nm, 659.9 nm which could be related to the PpIX generation induced by the applied 5-ALA. The experimental results showed that fluorescence signal of PpIX was proportional to the concentration of 5-ALA in cancer cells, but measured with low concentration in normal cells.

  • Generation of abnormally large grains in the microstructure of small grains has been investigated on some ferrites. Some fractions of large grains were observed in the microstructue of sintered ZnFe$_2$O$_4$, Mn-ZnFe$_2$O$_4$, Fe$_3$O$_4$(in $N_2$) and MnFe$_2$O$_4$(in air). On the other hand, the large grains were not observed in $NiFe_2$$O_4$ and $CoFe_2$$O_4$, independent of calcining and sintering conditions. The large grains seem to be generated in such ferrites that are easy to very their compositions or valencies at high temperatures. as the sintering proceeded, the number of large grains was increasing to from a continuous structure consisting of large grains, while the size of large grains did not increase remarkably. In addition, the growth of small grains was also very slow during the generation of the large grains. The large grains appeared be suddenly generated after some induction periods. Avrami equation could be applied to the relation between net volume of large grains and sintering time. Thus, the grain boundaries may be strongly stabilized when the large grains are generated. The large grain is generated y the local activation of the stabilized rain boundaries, which is caused by the variation of composition or valencies during sintering. It is concluded that the essence of the abnormal gain growth is not the generation of abnormally large grains, but the abnormal stabilization and the local activation of he grain boundaries.

  • In order for a classification system to be useful in every day business environments, it has to reflect peculiar characteristics of enterprises and organizations. By automating the generation process of classification, the overall operation of classification system becomes effective and efficient. However, in order for it to be really useful, human input and interventions are needed from the very beginning phase of the classification generation. This paper proposes an user-guided classification generation algorithm, in which the user inputs a specific level of the classification that she/he wants. Also we propose and implement manipulation operators to tailor the initial classification into the shape that user wants.

  • The droop-based control strategy is widely applied in the interfacing inverters for distributed generation. This can be a problem since low-frequency stability issues may be encountered in droop-based microgrid. The objective of this paper is to classify, evaluate and compare various low-frequency damping methods. First, low-frequency stability problems are analyzed and an equivalent model of a droop-controlled inverter is investigated to classify the damping methods into the source-type damping strategies and the impedance-type damping strategies. Moreover, the lead-lag compensation network insertion control is proposed as a beneficial part of the source-type damping strategies. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of damping methods are theoretically evaluated and experimentally tested. Furthermore, the damping methods are comprehensively compared to illustrate the application field of each method. Finally, the synthesis of different damping methods to enhance the low-frequency stability is discussed and experimental validation is presented.

  • A hybrid image processing system which automatically distinguished lean tissues in the image of a complex beef cut surface and generated the lean tissue contour has been developed. Because of the in homegeneous distribution and fuzzy pattern of fat and lean tissue on the beef cut, conventional image segmentation and contour generation algorithm suffer from a heavy computing requirement, algorithm complexity and poor robustness. The proposed system utilizes an artificial neural network enhance the robustness of processing. The system is composed of pre-network , network and post-network processing stages. At the pre-network stage, gray level images of beef cuts were segmented and resized to be adequate to the network input. Features such as fat and bone were enhanced and the enhanced input image was converted tot he grid pattern image, whose grid was formed as 4 X4 pixel size. at the network stage, the normalized gray value of each grid image was taken as the network input. Th pre-trained network generated the grid image output of the isolated lean tissue. A training scheme of the network and the separating performance were presented and analyzed. The developed hybrid system showed the feasibility of the human like robust object segmentation and contour generation for the complex , fuzzy and irregular image.
