  • CFC-113, 1,1,1-TCE는 오존파괴물질로 선진국에서는 이미 사용이 전면 규제되고 있고 MC, TCE는 유해성 또는 발암성물질로 판명되어 일부사업장에서 제한적으로 사용되고 있다. 그러므로 세정성이 좋고 환경/안전성이 우수한 대체세정제를 개발하여 사용하거나 기존 개발된 세정제 중에서 우수한 세정제를 선정하여 사용하는 것이 필요한 실정이다. 대체세정제로는 수계세정제가 환경성과 경제적면에서 유망한 것으로 평가받고 있어 많은 사업장에서 사용될 전망이다. 본 연구에서는 환경친화적인 수계세정제를 개발하기 위하여 수계세정제의 주요성분인 여러 형태의 계면활성제를 선정하여 이들의 물성, 거품성, 오염물 종류에 따른 세정성, 유수분리성을 평가하여 비교하였다.

Comparative risk analysis for priority ranking of environmental problems in Seoul

  • In Korea, there is no CRA studies and has not well known CRA and not well established their methodologies. Therefore, objectives of this study is to establish the framework of CRA consisting of health risk, economic risk and perceived risk and the detail methodologies of three main component of estimating and comparing those risks for on the three environmental problems of air pollution, indoor air pollution and drinking water contamination which being subjective to the eight sub-problems of hazardous ai. pollutants (HAPs), regulated pollutants (representative as PM10) and Dioxins (PCDDS/ PCDFs) in air pollution, and indoor ai. pollutants (IAPs) and Radon in indoor air pollution, and drinking water pollutants (DWPs), disinfection-by- products(DBPs) and radionuclides in drinking water contamination in Seoul, Korea. And then, their problems set priorities by individual and integrated risk. As a results, ranking of health risk were the following order of indoor air pollution, air pollution and then drinking water contamination, in three environmental problems and of radon, PM10, IAPs, HAPs, DWPs, Dioxins, DBPs, and then radionuclides in eight sub-problems. And that of economic risk were the same order. In the contrary, ranking of perceived risk were the following order of air pollution, drinking water contamination, and then indoor air pollution, and of HAPs, Dioxins, radionuclides, PM10, DWPs, IAPs, Radon and then DBPs.

  • 근래 무기 체계는 IM에 대한 능력을 중요시하고 있다. 화약은 무기체계에 반드시 필요한 에너지 물질이면서 가장 위험한 물질로 IM을 위해 반드시 개선해야 할 주요 부품이라 할 수 있다. RDX는 1930년대부터 사용되어 현재는 가장 널리 사용되는 에너지 물질 중 하나이며 저렴한 가격과 높은 에너지 특성으로 인하여 탄두 화약의 대부분을 그리고 근래에는 화포용 추진제 및 로켓용 추진제에도 많이 사용되고 있는 물질 중 하나이다. 그러나, RDX는 근래에 개발된 NTO나 DADNE등의 둔감 화약에 비해 감도가 민감하다는 단점을 가지고 있어 이를 극복하기 위한 둔감 RDX의 연구 개발이 국내외에서 지속 수행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 RDX를 둔감화한 RS-RDX의 연구를 Pilot Scale과 양산 Plant에 적용하여 개발하였으며 그 결과를 Shock 감도를 통해 확인 할 수 있었다.

Firing Test of Core Engine for Pre-cooled Turbojet Engine

  • A core engine for pre-cooled turbojet engines is designed and its component performances are examined both by CFD analyses and experiments. The engine is designed for a flight demonstration of precooled turbojet engine cycle. The engine uses gas hydrogen as fuel. The external boundary including measurement devices is set within $23cm{\times}23cm$ of rectangular cross section, in order to install the engine downstream of the air intake. The rotation speed is 80000 rpm at design point. Mixed flow compressor is selected to attain high pressure ratio and small diameter by single stage. Reverse type main combustor is selected to reduce the engine diameter and the rotating shaft length. The temperature at main combustor is determined by the temperature limit of non-cooled turbine. High loading turbine is designed to attain high pressure ratio by single stage. The firing test of the core engine is conducted using components of small pre-cooled turbojet engine. Gas hydrogen is injected into the main burner and hot gas is generated to drive the turbine. Air flow rate of the compressor can be modulated by a variable geometry exhaust nozzle, which is connected downstream of the core engine. As a result, 75% rotation speed is attained without hazardous vibration and heat damage. Aerodynamic performances of both compressor and turbine are obtained and evaluated independently.

독립성분분석을 이용한 다변량 공정에서의 고장탐지 방법 (Fault Detection Method for Multivariate Process using ICA)

  • 대규모 발전소나 화학공정과 같은 다변량 공정은 매우 위험한 환경에서 운전되기 때문에 고장이 발생하면 심각한 인적·물적 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 시스템의 고장을 사전에 탐지할 수 있는 온라인 모니터링 기술이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 세 가지의 다른 다변량 공정 데이터에 ICA를 적용하여 고장탐지를 수행하였고, PCA와 성능을 비교하였다. ICA 기반의 고장탐지 절차는 크게 오프라인 과정과 온라인 과정으로 나뉜다. 오프라인 과정에서는 시스템이 정상일 때 계측된 데이터를 이용하여 고장판별을 위한 문턱 값을 설정한다. 그리고 온라인 과정에서는 실시간으로 계측되는 질의벡터에 대한 통계량을 계산한 후, 계산된 통계량과 사전에 정의된 문턱 값과 비교하여 고장을 판별한다. 본 논문에서 이용한 세 가지의 다변량 공정 데이터에 실험한 결과, ICA 기반 고장탐지 방법이 시스템의 고장을 사전에 탐지하였고, PCA 보다 우수한 고장탐지 성능을 보여주었다.

부·울·경에서 판매되는 도료 희석제의 구성성분 함량과 물질안전보건자료의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Benzene Contents and Reliability of Material Safety Data Sheets for Paint Thinners sold in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam)

  • Objectives: The importance of MSDS is emphasized for communicating hazardous information due to the increase in the types and usage of chemical substances. The purpose of this study is to assess the reliability of MSDS by collecting and examining paint thinners commercially available in South Korea. Methods: Twenty-five paint thinners were purchased at paint stores and the provision of MSDS was checked. Quantitative and qualitative analysis was performed on the chemical constituents of the thinners using GC-MSD and GC-FID. Reliability was evaluated by the MSDS collection rate for the paint thinners and calculating the rate of matching between laboratory analysis results and the contents and composition of chemical constituents given in the MSDS. Results: Unlike a study conducted in 2006, MSDS were provided for all 25 thinners. As a result of qualitative analysis using GC-MSD, 104 chemical substances were detected. The substances with the highest detection rate were identified in the order of toluene, butyl acetate, acetone, xylene, and ethyl benzene. A component matching rate of 41% was found by comparing the differences between the number of substances detected in laboratory testing and the number of substances listed in the MSDS. Benzene, a carcinogen not listed in the MSDS, was detected in two thinners produced by a small company. The detected benzene contents were 0.039 and 0.040%. When benzene is used, it should be strictly handled according to the Industrial Safety and Health Act. However, since it is not listed on the MSDS, it is judged that benzene was not being managed as a carcinogen in the workplaces where it is used. Conclusions: Since the reliability of MSDS, which play an important role in hazard communication, was evaluated to be low, it is necessary to systematically and continuously secure this reliability. In particular, carcinogens should be managed more strictly.

Seismic Retrofit Assessment of Different Bracing Systems

  • Structural ageing influences the structural performance in a negative way by reducing the seismic resilience of the structure which makes it a major concern around the world. Retrofitting is considered to be a pragmatic and feasible solution to address this issue. Numerous retrofitting techniques are devised by researchers over the years. The viability of using steel bracings as retrofitting component is evaluated on a G+30 storied building model designed according to ACI318-14 and ASCE 7-16. Four different types of steel bracing arrangements (V, Inverted V/ Chevron, Cross/ X, Diagonal) are assessed in the model developed in commercial nu-merical analysis software while considering both material and geometric nonlinearities. Reducing displacement and cost in the structures indicates that the design is safe and economical. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to find the best bracing system that causes minimum displacement, which indicates maximum lateral stiffness. To evaluate the seismic vulnerability of each system, incremental dynamic analysis was conducted to develop fragility curves, followed by the formation of collapse margin ratio (CMR) as stipulated in FEMA P695 and finally, a cost estimation was made for each system. The outcomes revealed that the effects of ge-ometric nonlinearity tend to evoke hazardous consequences if not considered in the structural design. Probabilistic seismic and economic probes indicated the superior performance of V braced frame system and its competency to be a germane technique for retrofitting.

지중 내 TPH, Phenol의 확산방지를 위한 선택적 차수재 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Selectively Block Barrier for Prevent the Spread of TPH and Phenol in the Ground)

  • 본 연구에서는 지중 내 오염물질(TPH, Phenol)의 확산 방지를 위해 오염 발생시에만 선택적으로 차수성능을 발현하는 차수재를 제조하고자 하였다. 선택적차수재의 구성물질로는 주문진규사, 벤토나이트, 폴리올레핀 엘라스토머, 스필하운드 마린을 사용하였으며, 본 연구에서는 구성물질들의 활용가능성을 평가하기 위해 기초 특성 및 환경유해성을 확인하였으며 오염물질과의 접촉 24시간 후 변화되는 투수특성을 비교하여 차수재로서 사용가능성을 확인하였다. 각 구성물질의 pH는 일반 지하수 pH 범위와 유사하였으며 독성특성 및 유해물질 용출가능성 분석결과 기준치 이하의 함량을 보여 환경유해성은 없다고 판단되었다. 또한 오염물질 접촉 전‧후 투수계수를 비교하였을 때, 접촉 전 α × 10-3cm/sec 내외의 투수계수가 오염물질과 접촉 이후 α × 10-6cm/sec로 감소된 결과를 보여 차수재의 비오염 상황에서는 투수성과 오염발생시 차수성능 발현을 확인할 수 있었다.

Development of Source Profiles and Estimation of Source Contribution for Hazardous Air Pollutants by the Principal Component Analysis in Indoor Air

  • The purpose of this study is to characterize the indoor-outdoor relationship of airborne pollutants and recognize probable sources in inside and outside individual apartments in Seoul metropolitan. Simultaneous air monitoring in inside and outside of the 16 Korean Apartments classified into 2groups: less than 1 year old and more than 4 years old from October, 2004 to February, 2005were sampled f3r airborne pollutants(volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, respiratory particles, carbon dioxide and bacteria) using the Korean Indoor Air Quality Official Method. The concentrations of $CO_2$, TVOCs, HCHO, bacteria and PM10 in the less than 1 year old apartments were determined to be $773.6{\pm}422.3ppm$, $4,393.8{\pm}2,758.2{\mu}g/m^3$, $98.0{\pm}56.4{\mu}g/m^3$, $254.0{\pm}186.3CFU/m^3$ and $31.7{\pm}14.8{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively, Also, the concentrations of those in the more than 4 years old apartments were determined to be $798.9{\pm}266.5ppm$, $792.7{\pm}398.3{\mu}g/m^3$, $70.0{\pm}30.7{\mu}g/m^3$, $245.6{\pm}122.0CFU/m^3$, $49.7f28.7{\pm}g/m^3$, respectively. The average ratios of the indoor and outdoor concentrations of $CO_2$, TVOCs, HCHO, bacteria and PM10 were 2.2, 3.6, 3.1, 3.9 and 1.4, respectively. These results of this analysis is suggested that $CO_2$, TVOCs, HCHO, bacteria and PM10 in indoor air are both emitted from source within the apartment environment and partly come from outdoor air. With the above considerations in mind, it is suggested that the research for source contribution of indoor air pollutants should be expanded and the detailed interpretation of the results on these needed further study(using principal component analysis(PCA).

솔잎 열수 증류액의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of the Vaporized Liquid of Water-boiled Pine Needle)

  • 솔잎 열수 증류액 시료 자체의 음용수 적합성 여부와 향기성분 등 품질평가를 검토하였다. 음용수 평가 항목에 따라 총45종류의 성분을 측정하였으며 실험 모두에서 유해성분이 검출되지 않았다. 특히 인체에 유해한 비소 (As), 납 (Pb), 수은 (Hg) 및 카드뮴 (Cd)등과 같은 무기물이 검출되지 않았을 뿐만 아니라 기타의 성분도 음용수 기준치 내의 함량을 나타냄으로서 음용수로 사용하는데 적합한 것으로 평가되었다. 솔잎 열수 증류액의 향기성분에 대한 분석에서는 총34종류의 향기성분이 분석되었는데 우수한 향기성분으로서 fenchol, bomeol, $\beta-fenchyl$ alcohol 및 bomyl acetate의 경우는 각각 6.7, 13.1, 26.6 및 $16.2\%$ 함유되어 있었으며 대부분의 성분들이 alcohol이나 aldehyde 성분으로서 향기의 주요 성분들이었고 그 함유량도 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났다.
