  • The development of computing technology and networking has developed into a fundamental technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which provides a ubiquitous environment. In the ubiquitous environment, the IoT environment has become an issue so that various devices and the things can be actively accessed and connected. Also, the RFID system using the wireless identification code attaches an RFID tag to the object, such as the production and distribution of products. It is applied to the management very efficiently. EPCglobal is conducting a research on RFID system standardization and various security studies. Since RFID systems use wireless environment technology, there are more security threats than wire problems. In particular, failure to provide confidentiality, indistinguishability, and forward safety could expose them to various threats in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore, this study analyzes the standard method of EPCgolbal and proposes RFID security method using hash code that can consider the amount of computation.

  • There have been found many modified malwares which could avoid detection simply by replacing a sequence of characters or a part of code. Since the existing anti-virus program performs signature-based analysis, it is difficult to detect a malware which is slightly different from the well-known malware. This paper suggests a method of detecting modified malwares by extending a hash-value based code comparison. We generated hash values for individual functions and individual code blocks as well as the whole code, and thus use those values to find whether a pair of codes are similar in a certain degree. We also eliminated some numeric data such as constant and address before generating hash values to avoid incorrectness incurred from them. We found that the suggested method could effectively find inherent similarity between original malware and its derived ones.

  • The continuing development of the information technology industry and wireless networking has increased the use of mobile device, which provides both portability and mobility. As follows, demands for extended services within the wireless Internet are increasing rapidly. Because it still in its initial stages of development, the wireless Internet presents continuing problems in security and limitations in the content of services. Furthermore, most mobile equipment utilizes the touch pad input method. This input method is inconvenient when a user needs to input a long sentence. This has led to the more convenient development of image selection by using a pen mouse. In order to provide security under these conditions, a HASH code may be used to transmit an array of information and input values, created by the image input at the early stages. Thus, authentication and key exchange are completed securely. Messages are encoded and transmitted, preventing both information drain by insiders and interference from outside.

  • This paper introduces the concept of a dual hash function to amplify security in a quantum key distribution system. We show the use of the relationship between quantum error correction and security to provide security amplification. Also, in terms of security amplification, the approach shows that phase error correction offers better security. We describe the process of enhancing security using the universal hash function using the BB84 protocol, which is a typical example of QKD. Finally, the deterministic universal hash function induces the security to be evaluated in the quantum Pauli channel without depending on the length of the message.

  • In this study, a novel Randomly Shifted Certification Authority Authentication protocol was used in ad hoc networks to provide authentication by considering the MAC layer characteristics. The nodes achieve authentication through the use of public key certificates issued by a CA, which assures the certificate's ownership. As a part of providing key management, the active CA node transfers the image of the stored public keys to other idle CA nodes. Finally the current active CA randomly selects the ID of the available idle CA and shifts the CA ownership by transferring it. Revoking is done if any counterfeit or duplicate non CA node ID is found. Authentication and integrity is provided by preventing MAC control packets, and Enhanced Hash Message Authentication Code (EHMAC) can be used. Here EHMAC with various outputs is introduced in all control packets. When a node transmits a packet to a node with EHMAC, verification is conducted and the node replies with the transmitter address and EHMAC in the acknowledgement.

  • In this paper, we propose a stable mutual authentication protocol between unmanned combat systems in tactical wireless networks where long distance communications are not always guaranteed due to a poor channel condition. The proposed protocol generates an authentication code using hash collision of arbitrarily selected random data. The authentication requester encrypts and transmits it to the authenticator. They performs authentication by sharing the valid authentication code. We analyze the safety of the proposed method for various attack scenarios.

  • In this paper, we propose two-way authentication protocol between unmanned systems in tactical wireless networks in which long distance communications are not guaranteed due to a poor channel conditions. It is assumed that every unmanned systems have same random data set before they put into combat. The proposed protocol generates authentication code(AC) using random data that causes hash collision. The requester for authentication encrypts the materials such as their identifier, time-stamp, authentication code with the secret key. After then the requester transmits the encrypted message to the receiver. The receiver authenticates the requester by verifying the authentication code included in the request message. The performance analysis of the proposed protocol shows that it guarantees the security for various attack scenarios and efficiency in terms of communication overhead and computational cost. Furthermore, we analyzed the effect of the parameter values of the proposed protocol on the performance and suggest appropriate parameter value selection guide according to the level of security requirement.

  • Content-based image retrieval is an approach used to query images based on their semantics. Semantic based retrieval has its application in all fields including medicine, space, computing etc. Semantically generated binary hash codes can improve content-based image retrieval. These semantic labels / binary hash codes can be generated from unlabeled data using convolutional autoencoders. Proposed approach uses semi-supervised deep hashing with semantic learning and binary code generation by minimizing the objective function. Convolutional autoencoders are basis to extract semantic features due to its property of image generation from low level semantic representations. These representations of images are more effective than simple feature extraction and can preserve better semantic information. Proposed activation and loss functions helped to minimize classification error and produce better hash codes. Most widely used datasets have been used for verification of this approach that outperforms the existing methods.

  • In this paper, we present a security tool which called Digital Legal Seal. The Digital Legal Seal scans a barcode on a paper and print it with the tag generated by Hash-based Message Authentication Code(HMAC) in text format on a display device. The result of HMAC can be used for user authentication or secure message transmission on both online and offline. We examine not only how the Digital Legal Seal can make up the weak points of security card and OTP (One Time Password), but also the possibility of reducing the forgery of promissory note on offline.

  • In this work, a domain-wise hash structure is developed for efficient data handling, and by using the developed domain-wise hash structure, an automatic triangular mesh generation algorithm is proposed. To generate the optimal nodal points and triangles efficiently, the advancing layer method and Delaunay triangulation method are utilized. To investigate the performance of the proposed algorithm, benchmarking tests are carried out for various models including convex, concave and complicated shapes through the developed object oriented C++ mesh generation code.
