  • In this paper we propose a series active power filter and a simple calculation method acquiring the reference voltage. A series active power filter is suitable to suppress harmonics produced by voltage type harmonic source such as a diode rectifier with filter capacitor on the DC side The proposed series active power filter system is applied to 3-phase 3-wire power system including the voltage type harmonic source. Experimental result obtained from a laboratory model are shown to verify the viability and effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • In this paper, the method of reducing harmonics and correcting of power factor in single PWM converter associated with diode rectifier and boos converter is studied. The ac-dc converter in which the harmonic distortion in the input current is reduced using a third harmonic injected PWM is proposed. A lower switching power loss and easy configuration o control circuit are obtained by adopting discontinuous current mode. Simulation and experimental results of ac-dc converter with 5[KHz] switching frequency are presented and correction of power factor and reduction of total harmonic distortion was established.

  • Amplitude Modulation PWM Technique which has characteristics such as the switching loss and Harmonic distortion reduction is compared in this paper. And also Harmonic components only carrier frequencies. And as it is showed Harmonic components only carrier frequencies via simulation results. Am-pwm is applied to the inverter system of High-speed induction motor.

  • PWM techniques which eliminate and reduce harmonics of output voltage in PWM Inverter driving System with fluctuating input volotage are described. First, harmonic factors are analyzed from harmonic equation of general PWM waveform and by examination of control possiblity of each factor, controllable factor is selected. Applying controllable factor to NPWM, PWM techniques using reference wave and carrier wave modulation are introduced. Actually, by the experiment applied with this strategy, the reduction of harmonics of output voltage is confirmed.

  • 견인전동기 구동시스템에 사용되는 PWM 인버터는 전력용량이 크기 때문에 스위칭주파수가 제한되며, 따라서 전자기적 가청소음이 발생한다. 이러한 가청소음을 줄이기 위하여 새로운 MRSF-PWM 방식을 제안한다. 제안한 MRSF-PWM 방식에서는 고조파를 확산시키기 위해 삼각파와 톱니파를 함께 운송파로 사용하며, 출력전압의 선형제어범위를 넓히기 위해 정현파에 3차 고조파를 주입한 파형을 기준파로 사용한다. MRSF-PWM 방식의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 그 결과, MRSF-PWM 방식이 선형성 및 고조파 확산면에서 다른 RPWM 방식보다 우수하며 가청소음 저감면에서 SPWM 방식보다 효과적임을 확인하였다.

ESS의 전자 잡음 주파수 분석 및 제거 (Frequency Analysis and Reduction of Electronic Noise in ESS)

  • This paper is a study on frequency analysis and electronic noise reduction of energy storage system (ESS). We acquired 4 necessary data for about 2 minutes and 4 seconds using a sampling frequency of 10,000 Hz in ESS. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) was used for electronic noise analysis from the acquired data. As a result, it was confirmed that DC component, fundamental wave, second and higher harmonic component exist. For the attenuation of harmonics, low-pass filter (LPF) was applied. We confirmed that an attenuation of approximately 59.3% appears from the second harmonic. The presence of many harmonic components in the data of the ESS was expected to occur due to the insufficiency of optimization among the modules inside the ESS. Therefore, we propose that a national certification system for ESS should be introduced to settle down the issue properly.

소형화 및 고조파 특성이 개선된 접힌 구조의 링-하이브리드의 설계 (A Harmonic Suppressed Design of Size Reduced Ring-Hybrid Using Folded Line Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 접힌 구조를 이용하여 소형화되고 고조파 특성이 개선된 링-하이브리드를 설계하였다. 제안한 구조는 링-하이브리드의 링 구조를 LPF 특성을 갖는 접힌 구조의 결합 선로를 이용하여 구성함으로써 링의 크기 감소뿐만 아니라 고조파 제거 특성도 부가하였다. 중심 주파수 2.41 GHz에서 일반적인 링-하이브리드와 같은 특성이 같고 3차 고조파를 포함한 11 GHz까지 -20 dB 이하의 저지 특성을 가지고 있다. 또한 링의 크기가 기존의 1/4 크기로 줄어들었다. 제작된 링-하이브리드의 측정된 주파수 특성 결과는 회로 및 EM 시뮬레이션 결과와 잘 일치한다.

New Generalized PWM Schemes for Multilevel Inverters Providing Zero Common-Mode Voltage and Low Current Distortion

  • This paper presents two advanced hybrid pulse-width modulation (PWM) strategies for multilevel inverters (MLIs) that provide both common-mode voltage (CMV) elimination and current ripple reduction. The first PWM utilizes sequences that apply one switching state at the double ends of a half-carrier cycle. The second PWM combines the advantages of the former and an existing four-state PWM. Analyses of the harmonic characteristics of the two groups of switching sequences based on a general switching voltage model are carried out, and algorithms to optimize the current ripple are proposed. These methods are simple and can be implemented online for general n-level inverters. Using a three-level NPC inverter and a five-level CHB inverter, good performances in terms of the root mean square current ripple are obtained with the proposed PWM schemes as indicated through improved harmonic distortion factors when compared to existing schemes in almost the entire region of the modulation index. This also leads to a significant reduction in the current total harmonic distortion. Simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed PWM methods.

  • As the various kinds of load who generate higher harmonics increases according as the power electronics technology develops, harmonic treatment standard is proposed by IEEE and IEC. Because establishment of harmonic reduction device is required for existent installment to satisfy harmonic treatment standard, the problem of investment charge and installation space increasing may be occurred. In order to solve these problems, a novel transformer connection method using principles of PCT and ZED is suggested.

  • Most of the user has been used linear load and non-linear load. The former is usually inductive load which is needed power factor compensation, the latter is power conversion system device. Actually two kinds of load is used together in the customer application. Generally capacitor is used for power-factor compensation of inductive load and reduction harmonics of non linear load with reactor. Non-linear load generates harmonic current for its energy conversion process. If harmonic current pass along the low impedance side of distribution system, the magnification of voltage and current is appeared by the series and parallel resonance. As a result, condenser has received a bitter electrical stress by the harmonic component. In this paper, we analyzed that how resonance is changed by the 5-th harmonic current pattern and proposed an alternative plan for non-magnification.
