  • In recent years, the standard for harmonics has established and applied in many countries. However a harmonic management has not performed for the absence of standard and procedure in Korea. For this reason, the standard establishment for harmonic based on the main purpose of international harmonic standards and property of domestic transmission system is required. This paper describes the software of assessment of harmonic emission limit for customer at HV System using Microsoft Excel.

  • This study examined changes in citation index scores and rankings of thirty-five chemistry faculty members at Seoul National University using different co-authorship credit allocation models. Using 1,436 Web of Science papers published between 2007 and 2013, we applied the inflated, fractional, harmonic, network-based allocation, and harmonic+ models to calculate faculty's h-, R-, and normalization of h- and R- index scores and rankings. The harmonic+ model, which is based on our belief that contribution of primary authors should be the same regardless of collaboration, is designed to minimize the penalty for research collaboration imposed by harmonic and NBA models by boosting the contribution of collaborating primary authors to be on the equal footing with single authors. Although citation rankings by different models are correlated with each other within the same type of citation indicator, rankings of many faculty members changed across models, suggesting the importance of an accurate and relevant authorship credit allocation model in the citation assessment of researchers. The study also found that authorship patterns in conjunction with citation counts are important factors for robust authorship models such as harmonic and NBA, and harmonic+ model may be beneficial for collaborating primary authors. Future research that reexamines the models with updated empirical data would provide further insights into the robustness of the models.

  • Large steel industries have nonlinear loads such as electric arc furnaces. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. Direct application of the harmonic assessment to the snapshot measurements would result in ambiguous conclusions depending on which instant is sampled. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time-varying harmonics. Harmonic simulations are performed to evaluate the harmonic voltage and current distortions throughout the system. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the electric arc furnace loads, harmonics assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE Std. 519 and harmonic simulation for the time-varying harmonics. The EDSA program was used as a simulation tool for the case study.

  • A new method to determine the total harmonic contributions of several customers and the utility at the point of common coupling is presented. The proposed method can quantify the individual harmonic impact of each suspicious harmonic source at the point of common coupling. The individual harmonic impact index is then used to assess the total harmonic contribution of each harmonic source. This index can be calculated by the results processed from instantaneous harmonic voltage and current phasor values. The results demonstrate the performance of the proposed method in terms of steady-state accuracy and response to time-varying operating conditions. The proposed index can be used for billing purposes to control harmonic distortion levels in power systems.

  • The GHP(Gas Heat Pump) is an efficient cooling;11eating system in which a compressor is driven by a gas engine and is brodening its application to the facilities such as schools and office buildings. It is difficult to control the GHP system because of slow response, big time constant and time variant system. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative probability approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the GHP loads, harmonic assessment by me 61000-3-2, and harmonic simulation and harmonic filter application using EDSA program for the case study system.

  • Heavy chemical industries have nonlinear loads including electrolyzers. The electrolysis consists of AC-BC converters which generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. This paper provides in depth an analysis on harmonics field measurement for the electrolyzer loads, adding a single-tuned filter at the customer bus for reducing harmonic distortion and harmonic assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE Std. 519. The EDSA program was used as a simulation tool for the case study.
