초음파법에 의한 스프링강의 재질평가에 관하여 (On Evaluation of Material Properties in Spring Steels by Measurement of Ultrasonic Techniques)

  • The general purpose of this paper is Evaluation of material properties in spring steels by investigate correlation between ultrasonic attenuation and virker's hardness, charpy impact properties, microstructures. The three test speciments of the $490{\times}90 mm$ plates and 20 mm thick are used but differ in heat treatment, one is rolled plate, the second is quenched and then tempered, and the third is quenched. ultrasonic attenuation were obtained at fifteen locations on the plates. In order to investigate the correlation between hardness ( especially, HV ) and the attenuation, the virker's hardness and the microstructures were observed for three spring steels. also the charpy impact test were carried out at the room temperature in order to investigate the relationship between impact properties and the attenuation. The experimental results obtained from three different spring related to the heat treatment conditions and attenuation coefficient is increased with increasing the hardness(HV). Ultrasonic attenuation coefficients have shawn are ability to distinguish among spring steels.

전착된 나노 결정질 니켈-철 합금의 미세구조 및 물성에 대한 철의 영향 (Effect of Iron Co-deposited Nickel on the Microstructures and Properties of Electroplated Nanocrystalline Nickel-iron Alloys)

  • Nickel-iron nanocrystalline alloys with different compositions and grain sizes were fabricated by electro-plating for MEMS devices. The iron content of the deposits was changed by varying the nickel/iron ion ratio in the electrolyte. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was applied for measuring the strength of the texture and grain size of the deposits. The nickel/iron atom ratio of the deposits was analyzed by EDS. The hardness of the alloys was evaluated by Vickers hardness indenter. The internal stress of the deposits was measured by Thin Film Stress Measurement using Stoney's formula. Surface morphology and roughness were investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The results of this study revealed that at a grain size of approximately $17\~24$nm the hardness, internal stress and roughness depend strongly on the iron content. With increasing the iron content, the hardness and internal stress of the deposits increased. An excellent correlation between the increase in the internal stress and the loss of (200) texture was found.

레이저빔 조사에 의한 압력용기용 강의 피로강도 향상방법 개발 (Fatigue Strength Improvement of Pressure Vessel Steel by Lasler Beam Radiation)

  • Degradation problem due to long term service in machine or structure is now one of important problems in whole industrial field. In this study, pressure vessel steel, Cr-Mo steel, which was used more than 60,000 hours, was surface-modified by laser beam radiation for the improvement of fatigue strength. To find out optimum radiation condition, hardness, residual stress measurement and fatigue tests were carried out with the specimen of different radiation conditions. Experimental results show that micro-hardness values on the surface of the radiated specimens were approximately 2.2 times higher than those of un-radiated ones. In the depth direction of the specimen, hardness on the surface showed maximum value and was decreased at the inside the specimen. Different hardness values are due to the energy density Q which was absorbed by the specimen. Fatigue tests show that fatigue life was improved by the compressive residual stress after laser beam radiation. However, some specimens with differednt conditions show the shorter fatigue life. It means that laser beam radiation with optimum parameter can improve thae fatigue strength.

용탕단조 마그네슘합금의 조직과 기계적 성질에 미치는 Zn과 Zr의 영향 (Effect of Zinc and Zirconium on Microstructure and Mechanical Property in Squeeze Cast Magnesium Alloy)

  • Mg-Zn-Zr ternary alloys containing 6wt% Zn and (0, 0.4, 0.6)wt% Zr, which is added for grain refinement, can be cast into complex shape by squeeze casting. The influence of Zn and Zr as additional elements on microstructure and mechanical characteristics is investigated by OM, SEM, WDX, XRD and microvickers hardness measurement. The microstructure of Mg-Zn-Zr alloys consists of primary ${\alpha}-Mg$ and MgZn eutectic compound between dendrites. The grain size is decreased from $136{\mu}m$ to $97\;{\mu}m$ by Zr addition, resulting in that the hardness is increased from 42Hv to 59Hv. Furthermore, the grain size is changed to $83{\beta}$ and the hardness is increased to 65Hv by additional infiltration pressure. These results indicate that the Zr addition and additional infiltration pressure are effective for grain refinement acting as an important factor to increase the hardness. The increment in hardness by the Zr addition is slightly larger than that by the additional infiltration pressure.

도시철도 지하구조물 압축강도와 반발경도의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Correlation between Compressive Strength and Rebound Hardness of Urban Underground Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시철도 지하구조물을 대상으로 동일위치에서의 콘크리트 코어채취 압축강도와 비파괴시험 반발경도를 측정하여 반발경도 범위별 추정식을 도출하고 반발경도 구간별 실측 콘크리트 코어강도와의 비교를 통해 범위에 따른 추정 압축강도의 적정성을 확인하였다. 연구결과, 가우시안 확률밀도 함수를 이용하여 산출한 반발경도 범위별 평균 압축강도의 선형회귀분석 결과(대표 압축강도 추정식)와 반발경도 범위별 추정식은 실측 콘크리트 코어압축강도 실험결과와 약 3% 이내로 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 반발경도 범위별 압축강도 추정결과는 추정 압축강도의 오차를 줄이고 높은 신뢰수준을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안한 반발경도 측정결과를 이용한 확률적 통계분석결과는 추정식에 따라 상대적으로 편차가 크게 나타나는 반발경도와 콘크리트 압축강도간의 상관관계의 신뢰수준을 확보하는 데에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

밥블록을 이용한 찰밥의 경도 및 부착성 측정법 (Measurement of Hardness and Adhesiveness of Cooked-Rice)

  • 전기밥솥으로 지은 일반계(Japonica) 쌀밥의 경도와 부착성을 texturemeter를 사용하여 낱알과 밥블록상태에서 측정하였다. 밥알 3, 4, 5개씩을 균등하게 배열하고 95%의 압축비에서 plastic plunger 로 측정한 경우 각각 경도는 7.4, 7.5, 10.0kg이었으며 변이계수가 25.9%에 이르렀다. 원통형 밥블록(15mm diameter, 20mm height)으로 성형한 것을 80% 압축비로 측정한 결과, 경도는 2.1kg이었고 변이계수는 $2.8{\sim}7.0%$의 수준으로 현격히 감소되었다. 밥블록측정법이 정확도와 재현성에서 낱알측정법보다 월등히 좋았으며 밥블록의 성형방법과 측정 방법을 개발하였다. 밥의 부착성은 낱알측정법으로는 불가능하였고, 밥블록을 톱니형의 plunger와 platform을 사용할 경우 가능하였으며 그 값은 0.68kg sec이었고 변이계수는 4.6%이었다.

표면반발경도를 활용한 물-시멘트비별 콘크리트의 동결융해 손상 평가 (Evaluating the Freeze-Thaw Damage of Concrete with Respect to Water to Cement Ratio Using Surface Rebound Value)

  • 동결융해에 의한 콘크리트 손상 발생 시기를 평가하기 위하여 상대동탄성계수와 표면반발경도를 이용하여 비교하였다. 비교 결과 W/C 70 실험체군에서는 표면반발경도에 의한 콘크리트 손상 발생 평가가 200 싸이클 이상 빠르게 나타나는 것으로 관찰되었다. 뿐만 아니라 이후 점점 심해지는 동해를 표현할 수 있는 데이터를 지속적으로 제공해주어 동해 발생하는 초기 시점부터 동해를 확인할 수 있다는 것을 나타냈다. W/C 60과 50 실험체군에서도 표면반발경도가 콘크리트 동해 손상을 상대동탄성계수 보다 빠르게 평가했으며, 물-시멘트비에 변화에 상관없이 전반적으로 동결융해 손상시기 상대적으로 빠르고 정확하게 평가한 것으로 판단된다.

구상흑연주철의 $CO_2$레이저 표면경화 특성 (The Characteristics of Ductile Cast Iron Heat-treated by $CO_2$Laser)

  • This study has been performed to predict beam absorption with analysis of temperature field by using a FEM in co /sab 2/ laser hardening and to invesrigate into some effects of power density and travel speed of laser beam on the microstructure and hardness of ductile cast iron treated by laser surface hardening technique. Optical micrograph has shown that large martensite and small amount of retained austenite appear in inside hardened zone. Hardness measurement has revealed that the range of maximum hardness value is Hv=415 .+-. 10. The power density increases and the travel speed decreases, the depth of hardened zone increases due to increase of input power density.

침채류의 조직감 측정방법 (The Measurment Methods of the Textural Characteristics of Fermented vegetables)

  • For the accurate interpretation and objective measurement of textural characteristics of fermented vegetables, first of all, the studies on the microstructure and chemical compositions of vegetable cell, and the changes in the textural properties of vegetables during salting, blanching and fermentation should be carried out. And the mechanical textural parameters were needed to compare with and analyze in relation to the sensory parameters. In this review, the thypical force-distance curves of fermented vegetables were obtained from the compression, cutting and puncture test. And it was showed that the compression force was a more effective textural parameter to express the hardness of fermented vegetables, and the sensory chewiness and toughness were related to the changes in cutting force. In the puncture test, the puncture force was related to the hardness and varied with the size and form of puncture probe; the changes in puncture force by small probe could express the decrease in hardness and crispness, whereas those by large probe could represent the changes in toughness. And the brittleness and crispness could be measured by the break point and the numbers of peak obtained from the force-distance curves.
