강판셀 호안의 변형특성 (Deformation Characteristics of Steel Plate Cellular Bulkhead)

  • 본 연구에서는 재하높이와 근입비를 달리하는 근입식 강판셀의 모형실험을 실시하여 셀 구조물의 변형특성에 미치는 재하높이와 근입비의 영향을 정성적으로 검토하였다. 또한, 채움재로 알루미늄 봉을 이용한 2차원 모형실험을 수행하여 채움재의 전단거동에 미치는 재하높이의 영향을 검토하고, Hansen의 토압이론에 근거하여 실험치와 이론치를 비교·검토하였다. 그 결과, 재하높이와 근입비에 따라 셀의 항복모벤트가 달라진다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었으며, 활동면은 재하높이가 낮아짐에 따라 셀 내부의 보다 낮은 곳에 위치함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 Hansen의 토압이론에 의하여 이론적인 고찰을 수행한 결과, 실험치와 이론치는 비교적 잘 일치하였으며, 재하높이에 따른 활동면의 위치변화에 대해서는 동일한 결과를 얻었다.

얕은 기초의 지지력 산정결과를 이용한 비교 및 분석에 관한 연구 (Comparison and Analysis of Bearing Capacity Calculation Results for Shallow Foundation)

  • The best way to gain optimal results on the bearing capacity is to perform the plate bearing test on field but it is not always possible. In the case of not performing the bearing test but estimating bearing capacity equations, it is not yet determined what equation is appliable. In this paper the results of bearing capacity equation and the loading tests of 12 samples were compared and what the one is more reliable than others was verified. The comparison showed that the range of the values using Hansen's equation was 0.67 and 1.44 times of the measured, that of Vesic's was 0.71 and 1.27, that of Meyerhof is 0.69 and 1.1, and that of Terzaghi was 0.87 and 1.57.

  • 본 연구에서는 사용후핵 연료를 안전하게 수송할 수 있는 수송용기의 여러 가지 설계 항목중에 수송용기 내부에 장전한 핵연료에 의한 핵임계반응을 방지하기 위한 핵임계해석을 수행하였다. 핵임계 해석에 사용한 HANSEN-ROACH-KENO-Va 전산시스템에 대한 검증계산을 수행하였고 수송용기의 핵임계측면에서의 안전성을 확보하기 위해 가능한 보수적인 가정을 하여 어떠한 경우에도 수송용기에 장전된 핵연료가 임계상태에 도달하지 않도록 수송용기 내부의 구조 및 적절한 핵임계 방지제를 선택하였고 정상수송 및 가상사고 조건 등에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 KSC-7 수송용기 의 설계조건을 만족하고 핵임계측면에서의 안전성을 보장할 수 있는 재료 및 구조에 대한 결론을 해석적으로 도출하였다.

On the use of tuned mass dampers to suppress vortex shedding induced vibrations

  • This paper concerns computational response predictions when a tuned mass damper is intended to be used for the suppression of vortex shedding induced vibrations of e.g., a bridge deck. A general frequency domain theory is presented and its application is exemplified on a suspension bridge (where vortex shedding vibrations have been observed and where such an installation is a possible solution). Relevant load data are taken from previous wind tunnel tests. In particular, the displacement response statistics of the tuned mass damper as well as the bridge deck are obtained from time domain simulations, showing that after the installation of a TMD peak factors between three and four should be expected.

시멘트경화체의 반투과성에 의한 수분이동에 미치는 용액농도와 환경온도의 영향 (Effect of Concentration of Solution and Temperature on Water Flux by Semi-Permeability of Hardened Cement Paste)

  • It is well known that concrete is typical porous material. We pay attention to Hansen's idea that concrete may be expected to act as semi-permeable membrane, and report the effect of concentration of solution and temperature on water flux in forward osmosis. In order to measuring volume of water flux from distilled water to solution of sodium chloride through hardened cement paste, specially designed apparatus was constructed, and the following result were obtained: (1) hardened cement paste acts as semi-permeable membrane, consequently, water flux in forward osmosis may occur. (2) Rate of water flux is proportion to concentration of dilute solution, and this suggests hardened cement paste is agreeable to the theory of membrane. (3) Effect of temperature on water flux is agreeable to Arrehenius equation and is great.

  • Lateral loading model tests were performed on the rigid box-shaped cellular bulkhead by displacement-controlled method. The materials of ground and fill used in this study are two aluminium rods with different sections. The behalf·iotas of ground and fill were recorded by photo/video techniques and failure mechanism created in ground and fill has been simulated two-야mensionally. Also the theoretical consideration about the test results was done on the basis of Hansen's earth pressure theory. As a result, the shape of sliding face the location of sliding face and the loading height was also investigated.

  • 본 연구에서 사용한 이론과 제시된 방법의 타당성을 검토하기 위하여 익열 간 극이 무한대인 단일 익형 주위의 유동장을, 최근에 개발된 계산방법인 Lambda방법을 사용한 Dadone의 해석결과와 비교하였고, 범용의 압축기 익형인 NACA65게열 익열 유동 에 대한 Herrig의 실험값, 그리고 미분해석에 의한 점성-비점성 상호작용 방법을 사용 한 Hansen의 계산값고, 이들 조건과 동일한 상태에서 본 연구에서 제시한 방법으로 계 산한 결과와 만족할 만한 일치를 얻었다.

Surface Preparation of III-V Semiconductors

  • As the feature size of Si-based semiconductor shrinks to nanometer scale, we are facing to the problems such as short channel effect and leakage current. One of the solutions to cope with those issues is to bring III-V compound semiconductors to the semiconductor structures, because III-V compound semiconductors have much higher carrier mobility than Si. However, introduction of III-V semiconductors to the current Si-based manufacturing process requires great challenge in the development of process integration, since they exhibit totally different physical and chemical properties from Si. For example, epitaxial growth, surface preparation and wet etching of III-V semiconductors have to be optimized for production. In addition, oxidation mechanisms of III-V semiconductors should be elucidated and re-growth of native oxide should be controlled. In this study, surface preparation methods of various III-V compound semiconductors such as GaAs, InAs, and GaSb are introduced in terms of i) how their surfaces are modified after different chemical treatments, ii) how they will be re-oxidized after chemical treatments, and iii) is there any effect of surface orientation on the surface preparation and re-growth of oxide. Surface termination and behaviors on those semiconductors were observed by MIR-FTIR, XPS, ellipsometer, and contact angle measurements. In addition, photoresist stripping process on III-V semiconductor is also studied, because there is a chance that a conventional photoresist stripping process can attack III-V semiconductor surfaces. Based on the Hansen theory various organic solvents such as 1-methyl-2-pyrrolydone, dimethyl sulfoxide, benzyl alcohol, and propylene carbonate, were selected to remove photoresists with and without ion implantation. Although SPM and DIO3 caused etching and/or surface roughening of III-V semiconductor surface, organic solvents could remove I-line photoresist without attack of III-V semiconductor surface. The behavior of photoresist removal depends on the solvent temperature and ion implantation dose.

Experimental estimate of Nγ values and corresponding settlements for square footings on finite layer of sand

  • Any structure constructed on the earth is supported by the underlying soil. Foundation is an interfacing element between superstructure and the underlying soil that transmits the loads supported by the foundation including its self weight. Foundation design requires evaluation of safe bearing capacity along with both immediate and long term settlements. Weak and compressible soils are subjected to problems related to bearing capacity and settlement. The conventional method of design of footing requires sufficient safety against failure and the settlement must be kept within the allowable limit. These requirements are dependent on the bearing capacity of soil. Thus, the estimation of load carrying capacity of footing is the most important step in the design of foundation. A number of theoretical approaches, in-situ tests and laboratory model tests are available to find out the bearing capacity of footings. The reliability of any theory can be demonstrated by comparing it with the experimental results. Results from laboratory model tests on square footings resting on sand are presented in this paper. The variation of bearing capacity of sand below a model plate footing of square shape with variation in size, depth and the effect of permissible settlement are evaluated. A steel tank of size $900mm{\times}1200mm{\times}1000mm$ is used for conducting model tests. Bearing capacity factor $N_{\gamma}$ is evaluated and is compared with Terzaghi, Meyerhof, Hansen and Vesic's $N_{\gamma}$ values. From the experimental investigations it is found that, as the depth of sand cushion below the footing ($D_{sc}$) increases, ultimate bearing capacity and settlement values show an increasing trend up to a certain depth of sand cushion.

신뢰성(信賴性) 이론(理論)에 의한 R.C.옹벽(擁壁)의 안정해석(安定解析) 및 설계규준(設計規準) (Reliability Based Stability Analysis and Design Criteria for Reinforced Concrete Retaining Wall)

  • 현재(現在) WSD로 설계(設計)되고 있는 우리 나라 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 옹벽구조물(擁壁構造物)에 있어서 가장 보편적으로 사용되고 있는 캔틸레버 옹벽(擁壁)의 안정해석(安定解析) 및 각부설계(各部設計)를 보다 합리적(合理的)이며 확률적(確率的)인 신뢰성(信賴性) 이론(理論)을 도입하여 신뢰성(信賴性) 모델에 따른 안정해석(安定解析) 및 각부설계(各部設計)에 대한 신뢰성(信賴性) 설계규준(設計規準)을 LRFD에 의거하여 제안(提案)하고, 또 안정해석(安定解析)의 공칭안전율(公稱安全率)에 대한 이론적(理論的)인 근거를 제시(提示)하는 것이 본(本) 연구(硏究)의 주요내용(主要內容)이다. 신뢰성(信賴性) 이론(理論)에 의해 안정해석(安定解析) 및 각부설계(各部設計)에 대한 한계상태방정식(限界狀態方程式)을 유도하고, Coulomb의 주동토압계수(主動土壓係數), Hansen의 지지력공식(支持力公式)을 사용하여 Cornell의 MFOSM에 의해 불확실량(不確實量) 산정(算定)의 알고리즘을 유도하였으며 그에 따른 불확실량수준(不確實量水準)은 우리 나라의 현실(現實)을 고려한 적절한 값으로 제안(提案)하였다. 현행(現行) R.C. 옹벽설계규준(擁壁設計規準)에 따라 Calibration 하므로서 목표신뢰성지수(目標信賴性指數)${\beta}_0$를 다음과 같이 선택하고(전도(轉倒): ${\beta}_0$=4.0, 골동(滑動): ${\beta}_0$=3.5, 지지력(支持力): ${\beta}_0$=3.0, 휨: ${\beta}_0$=3.0, 전단(剪斷): ${\beta}_0$=3.2), 이 ${\beta}_0$에 대응하는 하중(荷重) 및 저항계수(抵抗係數)를 산정(算定)하였으며, 안정해석(安定解析)에 대한 현행(現行) 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 표준시방서(標準示方書)의 안전율(安全率)을 검토한 결과 다음과 같은 값이 적절하다는 것을 알았다(전도(轉倒): 1.8, 골동(滑動): 1.9, 지지력(支持力): 3.6). 또한 현행(現行) WSD R.C. 옹벽(擁壁)의 설계규준(設計規準)을 위해 신뢰성(信賴性)에 의한 공칭안전율(公稱安全率)과 허용응력(許容應力)을 제안(提案)하였다. 그리고 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서 제안(提案)하는 R.C. 옹벽(擁壁)의 LRFD 신뢰성(信賴性) 설계규준(設計規準)을 현행(現行) R.C. 표준시방서(標準示方書)의 설계규준(設計規準)에 대응(對應)하는 설계규준(設計規準)으로 도입함이 바람직하다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.
