DECT 단말기용 Switchable veo를 설계 및 제작하였다. 이중모드 단말기에서는 하나의 veo가 송.수신모 드의 규격을 만족하도록 두 개의 다른 주파수에서 동작되어야 한다. 이중 모드 veo는 하나의 공진부를 스위칭 한 VCO 두 개의 공진부를 스위칭한 veo 그리고 두개의 VCO를 스위칭한 형태가 있다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 공진부를 스위칭한 VCO를 사용하였는데, 핀 다이오드를 사용하여 공진부의 커패시턴스를 스위칭하였다. 측정 결과 바이어스 조건이 3V와 13mA일때 출력전력은 - 6.5 dBm 이상, 25 kHz offset 주파수에서 - 104 dEe/Hz의 위상잡음 특성을 나타내었다. 따라서 제작된 switchable VCO는 DECT 단말기에 적용할 가능함을 알 수 있다.

In this paper, we proposed a multiband internal antenna for LTE mobile handset that could be used for mobile devices. The proposed antenna has a volume of $50mm(W){\times}21mm(L){\times}5mm(H)$, ground plane size is $60mm(W){\times}100mm(L)$, and covers 9 service frequency bands including LTE(Long Term Evolution) band with VSWR(Vlotage Standing Wave Ratio) less than 3. With rapid change of technologies, people wants to include more function into one device. In addition, each country uses different frequency band for traffic service, it is necessary to design multiband antenna for mobile phone since traveling foreign country needs roaming. And if we can cover several services with one antenna, cost and volume needed for antennas are minimized. A HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) of the Ansoft Corporation based on a finite element method is employed to analyze the proposed antenna in the design process and to compare the simulation and experimental results.

In this paper we examine the effects of the required portions of guard timing spaces in a MAC frame of ETSI BRAN HIPERLAN/2 system such as inter-mobile guard timing space in UL(Up Link) duration, inter-RCH(Random CHannel) guard timing space, sector switch guard timing space. In particular, we calculate the number of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols required for these guard timing spaces in a MAC frame. We them evaluate the throughput of HIPERLAN/2 system as we vary parameter such as the guard time values defined in [2], the number of DLCCs(Data Link Control Connections), and the number of RCHs. Finally we show by numerical results that the portions for the 새심 summation of required guard timing spaces in a MAC frame are not negligible, and that they should be properly considered when trying to evaluate the performance of MAC protocol of HIPERLAN/2 system and also when determining the number of RCHs as well as the number of DLCCs in UL PDU trains at an AP/CC(Access Point/Central Controller).

본 논문에서는 국내 무선인터넷 표준 플랫폼 규격인 WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability)에 적합한 Specification 기반의 침입탐지시스템을 제안한다. 시스템을 제안함에 있어서는 경량의 단순화된 코드, C와 자바 등의 다양한 언어 수용성 그리고 하드웨어 독립성을 고려하였다. 제안한 침입탐지시스템은 WIPI HAL(Handset Adaptation Layer)의 주요 AP 대상으로 침입을 탐지하는 알고리즘에 기반하고 있으며, HAL API에 추가 가능한 형태의 mIDS(mobile Intrusion Detection System) API 그룹을 프로토타입으로 정의하였고, 자바 라이브러리와 WIPI 에뮬레이터를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 적용 가능성을 증명하였다.

본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 인체두부에 유기되는 SAR을 계산할 때 SAR 값에 영향을 주는 설계 파라미터를 분석하고, PCS 전화기에 의한 SAR 값을 비교 분석하였다. 안테나의 종류, 안테나의 부착위치, 단말기의 구조에 따른 1g 및 10g 평균 첨두 SAR 값을 계산하였고 각각의 구조에 따라 인체 두 부의 깊이에 따른 SAR 분포의 변화를 살펴보았다. 플립형 단말기에 부착된 안테나 중에서는 side mounted PIFA(Planar Inverted F Antenna)의 1g 및 10g 평균 첨두 SAR 값이 각각 0.686W/kg과 0.353W/㎏으로 가장 낮았다. 폴더형 단말기에 부착된 모노폴 안테나에 의한 1g 및 10g 평균 첨두 SAR값은 각각 1.133W/kg과 0.709W/kg으로 플립형의 1.759W/㎏과 0.978W/kg에 비해 약 30% 가량 낮은 것으로 나타났다. Side mounted PIFA와 폴더형에 부착된 모노폴 안테나의 깊이에 따른 SAR 분포는 top mounted PIFA와 플립형에 부착된 모노폴 안테나에 비해 비교적 완만한 변화를 보였다.

국내에서 이동통신사업자의 겸업을 금지해 온 배경은 시장지배적 사업자가 수직적 결합 등을 통해 시장의 공정 경쟁을 저해할 수 있다는 우려에서 비롯된 것이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 이는 근래의 시장의 고도화 및 융합화 추세를 반영하지 못하는 것이어서, 공정경쟁을 보장하고 이용자 편익을 증진하기 위해서는 규제사무를 정비할 필요성이 있다는 의견이 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 통신서비스 및 장비시장의 현황을 분석하고 겸업승인 규제 정책의 개선 방향을 살펴보았다.

A highly efficient and compactly integrated balanced power amplifier (PA) for W-CDMA handset applications is presented. To overcome the size limit of a typical balanced PA, a bulky input divider is integrated into a PA MMIC, and a complex output network is replaced with simple lumped-element networks. For efficiency improvement at the low output power level, one of the two amplifiers in parallel is deactivated and the other is partially operated with corresponding load impedance optimization. The implemented PA shows excellent average current consumption of 34.5 mA in urban and 56.3 mA in suburban environments, while exhibiting very good load-insensitivity under condition of VSWR=4:1.

As a wireless handset deals with multiple application standards concurrently, RF transmitters and power amplifiers are required to be more power efficient and reconfigurable. In this paper, we review the recent advances in the design of the power amplifiers and transmitters. Then, the systematic design approaches to improve the performance with the digital baseband signal processing are introduced for the next generation mobile handset.

The SAR measurement system with stationary probes, presented in this paper, can calculate area SAR value based ell the measured 9 electric field data. By converting obtained area SAR to the volume SAR, the results can be acquired in a few seconds. The system can be very useful tool in the stages of handset development for mobile communication as well as in the handset production line because of its rapid SAR measurement. The system showed good linearity characteristics at 835 MHz of 10 $\sim$ 27 dBm input power range.
