Real-time Depth Estimation for Visual Serving with Eye-in-Hand Robot (아이인핸드로봇의 영상 추적을 위한 실시간 거리측정)

  • Depth between the robot and the target is an essential information in the robot control. However, in case of eye-in-hand robot with one camera, it is not easy to get an accurate depth information in real-time. In this paper, the techniques of depth-from-motion and depth-from-focus are combined to accomplish the real-time requirement. Integration of the two approaches are accomplished by appropriate use of confidence factors which are evaluated by fuzzy rules. Also a fuzzy logic based calibration technique is proposed.

A Comparative Study between Korean Standard Eye Test and Test Chart 2000 Pro (Test Chart 2000 Pro와 한국 표준 검안법의 일치도 비교 연구)

  • Purpose: We investigated validity of a monitor-based computer eye test program, Test Chart 2000 Pro (developed by Thomson Software Solutions, UK). Methods: We chose ten common eye tests of the Test Chart 2000 Pro and Korean Standard Eye Test, applying them to same subject groups each by each, followed by comparison and analyses of agreement degree of the results. Results: Among the ten eye tests, Snellen Chart, Cross-cyl target, Duochrome test, Fan and Block test, and Random dot stereograms showed statistically significant agreement between both the Korean standard eye test method and Test Chart 2000 Pro. On the other hand, some disagreements were found between the two eye test methods in LogMAR Chart, Single Letter Chart, Phoria Test, Fixation Disparity Test, and Worth 4 Dot Test. Conclusions: Comparing to the Korean Standard Eye Test that consists of Han eye chart and Phoroptor, validity of the Test Chart 2000 Pro is not so high. Further improvements of the Test Chart 2000 Pro in accuracy are required.

Comparison of the Effectiveness of Herbal Medicine Eye Drops on Conjunctivitis : A Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis (결막염에 대한 한방 점안액의 효과 비교 : 체계적 문헌 고찰과 메타 분석)

  • Objectives : This study was conducted to find out the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine eye drops on conjunctivitis. Methods : We searched randomized controlled trials on conjunctivitis through 10 DBs from the start to April 27, 2022. Study collection and data extraction, and evaluation of risk of bias were conducted by two independent researchers. The evaluation of the risk of bias in included RCTs was carried out by using Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. And the data synthesis was conducted by using Review Manager(RevMan, ver.5.4). Results : Total of 106 studies are researched and 7 studies of them are finally included. 1. The herbal medicine eye drops are more effective on than the western medicine eye drops, but the heterogeneity was very high. So we conducted sensitivity analysis and compared to the herbal medicine eye drops and the western medicine eye drops, the total effective rate was higher in the herbal medicine eye drops and the heterogeneity was somewhat reduced. 2. In the subgroup analysis, Fufang Xiongdan eye drops and Houttuynia cordata Thunb eye drops are more effective than the western medicine. It may represent substantial heterogeneity. 3. In the subgroup analysis, the herbal medicine eye drops are more effective than antibiotic and antiviral eye drops on acute bacterial conjunctivitis, but showed high heterogeneity. On the other hand, the herbal medicine eye drops are more effective than antibiotic and antiviral eyed drops on acute viral conjuctivitis and showed low heterogeneity. 4. In the subgroup analysis, we compared the effectiveness of herbal and western medicine eye drops according to total effectiveness rate evaluation methods. When comparing the studies calculating the total effective rate by the sum of 'Cured', 'Significantly Impaired', and 'Improved', the effective rate of the herbal medicine eye drops was higher than that of the western medicine eye drops, and the heterogeneity was very low. 5. In most studies, side effects of herbal medicine eye drops were absent or mild. Conclusions : This study shows that herbal medicine eye drops may be more effective than western medicine eye drops and have safety. But further researches are needed to resolve the heterogeneity of this study.

  • In this paper we propose a new visual servoing method for door opening with mobile manipulator. We use an eye-to-hand system that stereo camera is mounted on mobile platform, and adopt the position-based method. The previous methods for door opening mostly used eye-in-hand system with mono camera and required predefined knowledge such as radius and position about door grip, which was mainly caused by using mono cam era. This is also a severe constraint for pursuing general-purpose algorithm for door opening.   • Recently, the tole-robot operations to an unstructured environment have been widely researched. The human's interaction with the tole-robot system can be used to improve robot operation and performance for an unknown environment. The exact modeling based on real environment is fundamental and important process for this interaction. In this paper, we propose an extrinsic parameter calibration and data augmentation method that only uses a circular jig in the hand-eye laser virtual environment. Compared to other methods, easier estimation and overlay can be done by this algorithm. Experimental results using synthetic graphic demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.

Hand Evaluation and Favorable Image of Knit Fabrics -A Focus on Intarsia and Color Jacquard- (니트 소재의 질감 평가와 호감도 -인타샤와 칼라자카드를 중심으로-)

  • This study provided the data for the planning of knit apparel by analyzing structural effects of intarsia and jacquard knit on mechanical properties, subjective hand measurements, and preference. Intarsia and 7 types of color jacquard (floating jacquard, normal jacquard, bird's eye jacquard, tubular jacquard, ladder's back jacquard, blister jacquard, and transfer jacquard) were used. The samples (with a gauge of 14) were knitted using 100% wool 2/48's yarn by a Shima Seiki SIG computer knitting machine. Mechanical properties and hand values were measured by a KES-FB system. Subjective hand and favorable images were surveyed based on women in their 20s and 30s. The data were analyzed by a factor analysis, ANOVA and correlation analysis using SPSS 12.0. The subjective hand of intarsia and jacquard knits was categorized into 'thermofeeling', 'weight/flexibility', and 'durability'. The results of the favorable image survey for F/W outer knitwear showed that tubular jacquard was most favorable; however, the transfer jacquard was least favorable. Among the three factors that explain the subjective hand, thermofeeling had a strong influence on the favorable image of consumers. Bird's eye jacquard and tubular jacquard turned out to be most suitable for suits, intarsia and floating jacquard were suitable for cardigans and sweaters, ladder's back jacquard was suitable for hats or mufflers, and transfer jacquard was suitable for home fashion rather than garments.

The Difference of Body Mass Index According to Smart Phone Proficiency in Koreans over the Age of 60 (장노년층 스마트폰 활용능력에 따른 체질량지수 차이)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the difference of body mass index (BMI) to smart phone proficiency in men and women over the age of 60. Methods: Patients were divided into three groups with high (n=33), average (n=34), and low (n=33) smart phone proficiency. Fitness characteristics related to smart phone usage were evaluated by measuring cardiorespiratory endurance, grip strength, eye-hand coordination. As well, smart phone proficiency was evaluated by a self-reported questionnaire and a smart phone usability task that was composed of two categories: usage of the smartphone device itself and usage of phone applications. The differences in BMI of the subjects was analyzed by analysis of covariance adjusting for independent variables including age, smartphone usage period, eye-hand coordination, education and income. Results: There was a significant difference in BMI among the three groups after adjustment of age, eye-hand coordination, smartphone usage period, education and income. The results showed that the self-reported questionnaire showed a significant difference in BMI between high proficiency and low proficiency groups (high $24.88{\pm}2.46$, low $23.37{\pm}2.56$; p=0.037). Smart phone usability test results also showed a significant difference in BMI among the three groups (high $25.18{\pm}2.58$, low $23.15{\pm}2.6$; p=0.000 and high $25.18{\pm}2.58$, middle $23.57.7{\pm}1.69$; p=0.010). Conclusion: Our results suggest that high smart phone proficiency shows increased BMI in the elderly. This study suggests that people over the age of 60 who have high smartphone proficiency should be cautious of an increased BMI score.

The Effects of Visual acuity increase in mono vision by the P-VEP study using Netspeg lens (Netspag Lens를 이용한 Mono vision에서 시력개선 효과에 대한 P-VEP 연구)

  • The aim of the study was performed the wave analysis of P-VEP on the development of visual function using Netspeg lens in monocular of refraction error subjects. The P-VEP of three channels were recorded by the Bausch Lomb system. Ten adults (five males, five females, mean=22 years, range=19 to 23) subjects were recorded. The subjects were researched the history including the systemic health, medication, genetics, allergy, ocular disease, and so on. Visual acuity and refraction test were performed for each subject with mono vision by using the Netspeg lens. Also subjects viewed the P-VEP stimulus with mono vision through the corrected visual acuity with Netspeg lens during VEP test. The results of study suggest that the mono vision using Netspeg lens is better than with non-Netspeg lens on the visual acuity and image symptom. On the other hand, the analysis of P-VEP suggest that the amplitude of wave is larger when the eye using Netspeg lens receives the P-VEP stimulus compared with the non Netspeg lens. Also, on the wave style of P-VEP, the eye of Netspeg lens was more stable compared with the naked eye. However, on latency period of P-VEP, the eye of non Netspeg lens was more longer than the eye of Netspeg lens. But, on the other hand, the right and left eye have similar results. In conclusion, this study indicated that the visual acuity and visual function of eye of Netspeg lens used have a better than the eye of non-Netspeg lens in Mono Vision.

The Relationship between Using Both Hands Keyboard Input and Hand Function Among the Lifestyles of University Student (대학생의 라이프스타일 중 양손사용 스마트폰 자판 입력과 손 기능과의 관계)

  • This study aims to provide basic data for developing hand functional training programs using a keyboard to see if there is a relationship between the smart keyboard input speed using both hands, the Dexterity of the hand and the eye-hand coordination ability. The smartphone keyboard input speed, Purdue Pegboard, Grooved Pegboard Test, and Korean-Developmental-Test of Visual Perception-Adolescent were evaluated for 40 university students Province. An independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted to identify differences in smartphone keyboard input speed, dexterity, eye-hand coordination ability and visual-motion using both hands according to the general characteristics of the subjects. Pearson correlation was also conducted to find out the relationship between hand-used smartphone keyboard input speed, hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination ability and visual-motor. As a result, the smartphone keyboard input speed using both hands showed a correlation with the dominant hand in the Purdue Pegboard Test (r=-.313, p<.05). In addition, the input speed of the smartphone keyboard is Copying(r=-.333, p<.05), Visual Motor Search(r=.455, p<.01), Visual Motor speed(r=-.453, p<.01) and Form Constancy (r=-.341, p<.05) in the item of K-DTVP-A. Therefore, it is believed that it will be helpful in the development of a treatment program using a smartphone, and it is expected that the effectiveness of a treatment program using a smartphone will be proven through additional experimental studies in the future.

The Comparative Analysis of Male and Female of Adult on the Base Crve, Power and Astigamtism of the Cornea (각막의 곡율반경, 굴절력, 난시에 대한 성인 남녀의 비교 분석)

  • As the functional test of cornea. The clinical value of keratometric information was important for assessment the curvature of the cornea, the quality of the corneal surface, the stability of the corneal curvature, and the direction of the corneal astigmatism. This study was performed the comparative analysis of male and female of adult on the base curve, power and astigmatism of the Cornea. On the corneal base curve, the male right eye was 7.656 mm in vertical and 7.966 mm in horizontal. But, the male left cornea was 7.714 mm in vertical base curve and 8.026 mm in horizontal base curve. On the other hand, the female right eye cornea was 7.559 mm in vertical base curve and 7.695 mm in horizontal base curve. But, the female left eye cornea was 7.444 mm in vertical base curve and 7.742 mm in horizontal base curve. On the corneal diopter power, the male right eye was 44.063 diopter in vertical and 43.738 diopter in horizontal. But the male left eye was 44.046 diopter in vertical and 42.304 diopter in horizontal. On the other hand, the female right eye was 44.082 diopter in vertical and 43.77 diopter in horizontal. But, the female left eye was 44.347 diopter in vertical and 43.495 diopter in horizontal. According to the corneal astigmatism axis. The male right eye have 89.9% positive for with the - rule astigmatism, and 8.1 % positive for against - the - rule astigmatism. But, he male left eye have 91.89% positive for with - the - rule astigmatism, and 8.11 % positive for against - the - rule astigmatism. On the other hand, The female right eye have 76.92% positive for with - the - rule astigmatism, and 23.08 % positive for against - the - rule astigmatism. But, the female left have 80.76 % positive for with - the - rule astigmatism, and 17.31 % positive for against - the - rule as tigmatism. The diopter power of corneal astigmatism have 25.57% positive for behind 1 diopter, 44.89% positive for 1 diopter, 18.18% positive for 2 diopter, 5.11% positive for 3 diopter and 6.25% positive for over 4 diopter.
