Naringenin (NAR) as one of the flavonoids observed in grapefruit has been reported to exhibit an anti-cancer activity. However, more detailed mechanism by which NAR exerts anti-cancer properties still remains unanswered. Thus, in this study, we have shown that NAR down-regulates the level of cyclin D1 in human colorectal cancer cell lines, HCT116 and SW480. NAR inhibited the cell proliferation in HCT116 and SW480 cells and decreased the level of cyclin D1 protein. Inhibition of proteasomal degradation by MG132 blocked NAR-mediated cyclin D1 downregulation and the half-life of cyclin D1 was decreased in the cells treated with NAR. In addition, NAR increased the phosphorylation of cyclin D1 at threonine-286 and a point mutation of threonine-286 to alanine blocked cyclin D1 downregulation by NAR. p38 inactivation attenuated cyclin D1 downregulation by NAR. From these results, we suggest that NAR-mediated cyclin D1 downregulation may result from proteasomal degradation through p38 activation. The current study provides new mechanistic link between NAR, cyclin D1 downregulation and cell growth in human colorectal cancer cells.

This study conducted aeromechanics modeling and structural load analyses of Tilt Rotor Aeroacoustic Model (TRAM), a 25% scaled V-22 tiltrotor model used in wind tunnel tests. A rotorcraft comprehensive analysis code, CAMRAD II, was used. Analysis results of this study in low-speed forward flights were compared with DNW test and previous analysis results. Blade flap bending moments were in good agreement with measured data. Mean values and oscillatory loads for lead-lag bending and torsion moments were slightly different from measured data. However, when mean values were removed, results of structural loads for one rotor revolution were moderately compared with wind tunnel tests and previous analyses. Total forces and half peak-to-peak forces of the pitch link reasonably well matched with previous analysis results and measured data. Finally, harmonic magnitudes of blade structural loads were investigated.

Purpose: Sleeping disorders were reported in many patients who took vaccines during previous pandemics. We aim to investigate the relationship between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines and the incidence of narcolepsy symptoms in the Jordanian population. Materials and Methods: We used a descriptive, cross-sectional, online self-administered survey conducted between December 2022 and May 2023. The survey targeted males and females above the age of 18 years who took any type of COVID-19 vaccine, had no chronic diseases, and had no sleep disorders prior to taking the vaccine. The survey was distributed via social media platforms. Results: A total of 873 participants were included in this study, consisting of 44.4% males and 55.6% females, with the majority being in the 18-29 age group. Most participants (79.8%) received two vaccine doses, with the Pfizer vaccine being the most common. Nearly half of the participants reported excessive daytime sleepiness. Sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations were reported by a notable proportion of participants, but no significant differences were found among the vaccine types. Sleep attacks and fragmented nighttime sleep were associated with the number of vaccine doses received, suggesting a possible influence of the dose count on these symptoms. The presence of excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden loss of muscle tone, sleep paralysis, and hypnagogic hallucinations showed no significant association with the number of doses taken. Conclusion: We hypothesize a possible link between COVID-19 vaccination and the emergence of narcolepsy symptoms in Jordanian individuals. Additional investigations and continuous monitoring to determine the extent of the risk and uncover potential mechanisms behind this connection should be performed.

Mobile fashion apps present much opportunity for marketers to engage consumers, however not all apps provide enough functions for their targeted audience. This study aims to determine how mobile fashion apps can be used to build brand community with consumer engagement. Qualitative data on fashion mobile apps were collected from the Apple app store and Android market during the spring and summer of 2015. A total of 110 fashion mobile apps were collected;, 50 apps were identified as apparel brands that either manufacture or sell apparel to consumers, which we categorized as "brand" fashion apps, and the remaining 60 were categorized as "non-brand" fashion apps. The result of the study can be summarized as below. The 60 non-brand fashion apps were grouped into 5 app types: shopping, searching, sharing, organizational, and informational. The main functions are for informational use and shopping needs, since at least half (31 apps) are used for either retrieving information or for shopping. However, in contrast, social networking and location were infrequent and not commonly utilized by these apps. The most common type of non-brand fashion apps available were shopping apps;, many shopping apps enable users to shop from several different websites and save their items into one universal shopping cart so that they only check out once. Most of these apps are informational and help consumers make more informed decisions on purchases;, in addition many offer location services to help consumers find these items in store. While these apps perform several functions, they do not link to social media. The 50 brand apps were grouped into 5 brand types: athletic, casual, fast fashion, luxury, and retailer. These apps were also checked for attributes to determine their functionality. The result shows that the main functions of brand fashion apps are for information (82% of the 50 apps) as well as location searching (72% of 50 apps). Conversely, these apps do not offer any photo sharing, and very few have organizational or community functions. Fashion mobile apps and m-marketing elements: To build brand community, mobile apps can be designed to motivate consumer's engagement with brands. The motivations of fashion mobile apps are useful in developing fashion mobile apps. Entertainment motives can be fulfilled with multimedia attributes, functionality motives are satisfied with organizational and location-based features, information motives with informational service, socialization with community and social network, learning and intellectual stimulation from informational attributes, and trend following through photo sharing. The 8 key attributes of mobile apps can correspond to the 4 m-marketing elements (i.e., Informative content, multimedia, interactions, and product promotions) that are further intertwined with m-branding elements. App Attributes and M-Marketing aim to Build Brand Community;, the eight key attributes can impact on 4 m-branding elements, which further contribute to building brand community by affecting consumers' perceptions of brands preference and advocacy, and their likelihood to be loyal.

The purpose of this study is to identify the link that affects depression, a negative mental health problem for permanent rented apartment tenants, and to provide policy and practical support for reducing depression at the community level. To this end, 1,920 households of permanent rental apartment residents in K Metropolitan City were used in the survey. The results are as follows. First, more than half of the subjects surveyed 51.1% were found to have depressive symptoms. Second, among the demographic variables, the gender, age, single-person households, and social security benefits have a positive effect on depression. On the other hand, age squared and participation in economic activities were identified as factors to reduce depression. Third, among the residential community variables, the consideration for neighbors and their willingness to participate in the community were identified as factors to reduce depression. Fourth, physical health difficulties and mental health difficulties among the health status variables were identified as the determinants of depression. Based on the results of the study, the methods for intervention and follow-up studies to reduce depression in permanent rental apartment residents were discussed.

Research into underwater wireless networks that enable the monitoring and controlling of the ocean environments has been continuing for disaster prevention and military proposes, as well as for the exploitation of ocean resources throughout the world. A research group led by Hoseo university has been studying a distributed underwater monitoring and controlling network. In this study, we developed an interpolator for acoustic communication between an underwater base station controller and underwater base station, which is included in this network. The underwater acoustic communication provided by this network defines four links whose sampling rates are different. Low power consumption is one of the most important requirements. Therefore, we adopted CIC interpolators, which are known to act as filters with a low power consumption, and some CIC interpolators with an appropriate changing rate were selected depending on the link. However, these interpolators have a large passband drop and wide transition region. To solve these problems, we added a compensator and half-band filter. After verifying the algorithm by using Matlab, we designed and verified it with Verilog-HDL in a ModelSim environment.

What is noticeable in Changgeuk Madame Ong is that for "narrativization," a main character is replaced with Madame Ong and her mother and a reinvented story as a result thereof is the female liberation from oppression. The director sought for the completeness of the narrative with a plot line created (i) by daringly deleting the latter half (episode relating to Gangsoe's death), which was a persistent problem unsolved both in the original and its derivative contents, (ii) by diluting Gangsoe's patriarchal authority and thereby creating the ending of endless love and the fruition of love, and (iii) by severing the link between Madame Ong's doomed fate of widowhood and Gangsoe's doomed fate of death by the violation of a taboo (the key factors of the original story) and at the same time, thereby inserting the doomed fate of death by Jowang (god of fire), declaring a war against jangseung (Korean traditional totem pole), the aesthetic structure representing "fictionization," and enabling a female character to gain love, fame and life through free will and spirit of resistance. The director achieved a remarkable success in terms of composition by (i) taping into a variety of genres of music, (ii) by maximizing the effect of Madame Ong's solo, (iii) by strengthening the "uniqueness of each part" through chorus, (iv) by creating a dramatic atmosphere for the change of scene, (v) by applying a dual variation of tension (resistance theme) and relaxation (freedom theme), etc.

메기 정자는 그 길이가 약 62.5 \mu m이며 구형의 핵, 짧은 중편 및 꼬리를 ㄱ진 일반적인 메기류 정자의 미세구조적 특징을 나타내었다. 정자는 대부분의 경골어류의 정자에서와 같이 첨체를 가지고 있지 않았으며 염색질은 완전치 농축되어 있었다. 핵와(nuclear fossa)는 약 0.6 \mu m 함입되어 있었고 그 속에 기부 중심립과 말단 중심립의 일부가 포함되어 있었다. 두 중심립은 140 \circ C의 각도로 배열되어 있었으며 말단 중심립에서 9개의 부수체가 언형질막을 향하여 배열되어 있었다. 미토콘드리아는 중편 세포질에서 2층 또는 3층으로 배열되어 있었으며 핵의 후반부와 꼬리의 기부를 둘러싸고 있었다. 꼬리는 축사만으로 구성되어 있었으며 lateral fins는 관찰되지 않았다. 메기 정자의 가장 큰 구조적 특징은 중편 세포질에 구성되어 있는 관구조(tubular structure)이었다. 대부분의 경골어류의 정자는 중편 세포질에 미토콘드리아만을 포함하고 있으나, 메기 정자에서는 중편 세포질의 전반부에 미토콘드리아가 포함되어 있고, 후반부에는 소관이 모여 망상구조를 형성하는 관구조가 잘 발달되어 있었다. 이와 같은 관구조는 현재까지 Characiformes의 정자 이외의 다른 경골어류에서는 보고된 바 없으며 이러한 구조는Characiformes과 메기류의 계통학적 관계를 연구하는데 매우 중요한 형질로 여겨진다. ^u The spermatozoa of Silurus asotus are appoximately 62.5 \mu m in length and relatively simple cells composed of spherical head, a short midpiece and a tail as in most Siluriformes. The ultrastructure of the spermatozoa of S. asotus is characterized by the following features. The nucleus measuring about 1.5 \mu m in length is depressed with a deep nuclear fossa of about 0.6 \mu m in length, two fifth of the nuclear diameter. The fossa contains the proximal centriole and the half of the distal centriole. Two centrioles form an angle of approximately 140 \circ to each other. the nine satellite rays radiate from the outer surface of the distal centriole. the mitochondrea surround the basal nucleus and the axoneme, and are arranged in two or three layers in the postnuclear cytoplasm. The lateral fins are lost in the sperm tail. The most significant feature is manifested in the midpiece. The midpece comprises two parts, the mitochondria and the tubular structure unlike other teleost fishes containing only the mitochondria. The tubular structure was reported only in the spermatozoa of Citharinus belonging to the characiformes of teleost fishes. Thus it is considered to be a good characteristics for the study of phylogenetic link between Siluriformes and Characiformes.

Basing on Piconet, The Bluetooth System forms network and transmits data. There is one Master and maximum 7 Slave bluetooth devices in one piconet. A job scheduler performed by Master bluetooth device, gives the chance of data transmission to Slave bluetooth devices, which connected to Master, using polling method in piconet. The maximum data rate is 723.2 kb/s when it uses ACL link with DH5 packet type in a piconet which is constructed by two bluetooth devices. However, if there are one master and two slave devices in a piconet, then the maximum data rate is reduced to a half(361.6kb/s), because a master device has to support same data rate for all connected devices. And, there is the defect in scatternet when data transmission rate becomes low(Maximum rate: 302.2kb/s). This paper proposals the new ad-hoc network topology called "DoublePico"for overcome the low data transmission in scatternet which is constructed by piconets. The method of doublepico that represented in this paper makes high data transfer rate(Maximum rate: 457.57kb/s) in bluetooth ad-hoc networks.

The purpose of this study was to investigate students' views on the value of school science lessons and the aspects of science lessons that appeal to students. For the investigation, semi-structured in-depth interviews with 16 secondary school students were conducted. The results showed that about half of the participants thought that science lessons are important, but not all students have to learn science. And they considered only intrinsic interest and career hopes as critical elements in judging the necessity of science education for all. To appeal to students: first, science lessons should have relevance to students' career hopes, interest, curiosity, abilities, real life, experiences, and test scores. Second, they should acquire students' understanding. Third, they should include more experiments. Finally, they should be related to real life, reflect students' interest and concerns, and link new things with what students already know in terms of contexts and contents. Students thought that science lessons are not suitable for students who don't desire to pursue a science-related career. This suggests that present science curriculum perceived by students doesn't match well with the idea of science education for all. To overcome this problem, students need to be included in the debate about the relevance of science curriculum.
