This study was conducted to determine how well middle school students in the Ulsan area recognize trans fat and the amount of these compounds that they consume in their daily life. Students who recognized trans fat well could also identify trans fat contents on the nutrition label. However, recognition of trans fat was not associated with its intake. Students who thought it was necessary to learn about trans fat in school showed a tendency to consume less trans fat or to make more efforts to reduce its intake. Additionally, a preference for snacks had a significant influence on recognition and intake of trans fat. The overall, the following conclusions could be drawn from this study: 1) It is necessary for continuous efforts to teach students how to take snacks correctly and help them form good dietary habits both at home and school. 2) Both development of basic educational materials and the systematic education about trans fat at home and school are urgently needed to instill good dietary habits regarding trans fat. 3) It is highly recommended that the school meal service should take students' preferences into consideration and provide them with good nutrition and a balanced diet, and efforts should be made to contribute to the formation of good dietary habits.
This study, a second analysis research using raw data of the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2013-015), places its purpose on examining risk factors for the mental health of the youth. With its target on 3,712 people in their twenties and thirties, it has used complex sample cross analysis to figure out the relationship between their mental health and eating habits. Also, it has carried out multiple logistic regression analysis for the purpose of grasping the youth's mental health risk factors. Under the circumstances, controlling the subjects' individual characteristics, the study has shown that males with their breakfast and dinner partners have lower possibilities of depression and suicidal thoughts. Meanwhile, in the case of females, their breakfast and lunch partners have played a key role in lowering their stress and suicidal thoughts. Given these results, the government will have to make all-out efforts to upgrade public places and spaces for the youth to eat together. All this will lead to their healthy eating habits and positive mental health. More specifically, it will have to create variable programs necessary for educating them to manage their diet and enjoy eating with other people.
With the burden of chronic diseases mounting among the population as a result of its aging, the importance of health examination is being stressed in order to identify and manage diseases in the early stage. Health examination in Korea is divided largely into periodic health examination provided as a national health screening program and individual physical checkups. The advantages of the former include little economic burden on the examined and those of the latter include the freedom of the individual to select various examination headings depending on the individual's characteristics and preferences. With both examinations now being expanded, empirical analyses from various standpoints are needed. This study proposes to analyze traits of the examined and non-examined as shown in the facts and figures of the 1st and 2nd Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA), thereby make the determinant factors clear leading to the acceptance of the examinations, and analyze the effects of the examinations upon maintaining or moving to healthy lifestyle. It was confirmed that demographic features such as gender and age, socioeconomic features such as the level of education, place of residence and household income, physical and mental state of health such as chronic disease and dementia, and daily living habits are significantly related with whether to accept physical examination. It is also confirmed that physical examination leads to non-smoking, regular physical exercises and regular dietary habits. It is suggested that, to enhance effects of health examinations, follow-up management programs making use of results of health examinations be further expanded, and the national health screening program be more actively put into operation for the bracket lying in the blind spot of the program.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations of breakfast skipping and dietary habits according to breakfast intake frequency. Subjects were 5th and 6th graders of elementary school(n=423) in Gyeonggi area. As a result of analyzing the breakfast intake frequency, 'Having everyday' showed the highest 63.4%, followed by '4~6 times' 16.5%, '2~3 times' 13.5% and '0~1 times' 6.6%. As a result of analyzing the relations between mother and child in the breakfast intake frequency, it showed that the more mothers skipped breakfast, the more their children skipped it. For the reason of skipping breakfast, 'To be in time for school' showed the highest percentage. As a result of analyzing the perception of awareness for the importance of nutrition and dietary habit according to the breakfast intake frequency, there was a statistically significant difference in breakfast intake, dietary habits, selection and intake of proper food, disease and health problem according to the breakfast intake frequency. As a result of study, it is necessary that nutrition education should not be limited to children but expanded to their parents in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of nutrition education between school and home.
The residential environment is a place which reflects the gradual evolution of human consciousness because it is a cultural space the term, 'houses' is not relevant in this context as it literally means 'contains'. The long history of human living habits cannot be 'contained' within a space, but can be 'expressed' by a space and by the way the space is used. Furthermore, due to the way it is typically constructed, the basic characteristics of the house usually cannot be rapidly changed to accommodate new habits. However, recent changes that have taken place to the characteristics of the traditional master room suggest that traditional societal values associated with patriarchy have diminished. The current trend where priority is given to children's education also affects such a change. Existing researches related to the master room is confined to the behavioral use of the space and the composition of the physical space, while research on the master room its plane type has not been carried out. Therefore, in this study, apartment model houses are selected, and are classified according to the types of master room. An analysis is then carried out of the master room based on the occupants' requirements in terms of consciousness. Any planning modifications where required are then suggested. This research comprises the followings stages. First, an examination is carried out of existing research on the master room in order to understand its background and spatial components. A definitiones of related terms is also provided. Second, an analysis is carried out of the model houses exhibited at Suwan District, examining the typical standard that has been selected for the master room. Third, an analysis is conducted of the topics and questions to be selected for a questionnaire. Fourth, an analysis is carried out of the consciousness, satisfaction and requirements of the residents, as respondents in the questionnaire, related to the master room. and Research is then conducted of the architectural methods for planning the master room. Finally, future countermeasures for planning the master room are described based on the above analysis and research findings.

The aim of this study analyzed changes in dietary habits and lifestyles before and after COVID-19 targeting adolescents, using the food consumption behavior survey (2019 vs 2021). In the change in health-related factors, height decreased overall, and a significant difference was especially evident in males. Awareness that functional foods and eco-friendly foods contribute to health has increased. Among the results of dietary behavior, the frequency of skipping breakfast showed that the rate of not skipping breakfast and the rate of skipping breakfast more than 5 times increased at the same time(p=0.019). The rate of eating out decreased significantly after COVID-19, and it was analyzed that schools and school cafeteria, as well as Street carts or restaurants and academy, all increased significantly as places where snacks were not consumed. In order to analyze changes in food-related lifestyle, it was grouped into convenience-seeking, quality/safety-seeking, taste-seeking, and health/safety-seeking. 'Small packaged or pre-processed products' decreased. On the other hand, items such as 'Safety rather than price when choosing food' and 'Don't eat food that could go bad' improved. 'Tend to eat regularly' was higher than 2021 compared to 2019. Also 'Tend to purchase HACCP and GAP-certified products' are increased. Because of COVID-19 changes in lifestyle have affected the diet of adolescents. The results of this study suggest that it can be used as a guideline establishment and nutrition counseling material for the formation of correct eating habits for adolescents in the future pandemic era.

The purpose of this study is to explore ways to get children in the information age of today to develop good reading habits and make reading a central part of their lives from an early age. The results of the study are as follows : 1. First of all, it is important for children to gain the habit of reading books from their early childhood during activities such as eating food, sleeping, studying, playing, going errands and watching TV etc. 2. The habituation of reading is formed by repeating and reenforcing the habit once it is acquired. Then we will do it easily, unconsciously and automatically. 3. Habituation is formed by the course of formalizing, training, reenforcing, and motivating like other daily activities. 4. The prerequisites of habituation for reading are the early integration of reading books, putting reading books at the core of curriculum, developing an interest in reading, motivating to read books, giving good rewards for reading, and simply encouraging reading. 5. Lastly, other ways to form good reading habits are inducing interests in books and reading books, and reading in the course of learning.
Purpose: Malnutrition in children with cerebral palsy (CP) is a significant factor affecting their adequate growth and development. This study aimed at conducting surveys and evaluating the dietary intake of children with CP according to their BMI classification and to thereby highlight the dietary factors affecting the nutritional status of these children. Methods: A total of 16 children were enrolled between the age of four and twelve. These subjects were further classified into three groups, namely underweight, normal and obese, with 6, 8, and 2 children in each group, respectively. The general characteristics, motor disturbances, body composition, feeding problems, eating habits, nutritional intake, dietary variety, and food frequency for children with CP were evaluated. Results: It was observed that motor disturbances tended to increase in underweight children with CP. A significant decrease (p < 0.05) in disturbances related to oral feeding was observed with an increase in obesity. The pattern of eating habits revealed that subjects in the underweight group consumed unbalanced meals, while those in the obese group tended to consume larger meals at a faster pace. The feeding disturbance data revealed that those in the underweight group could not prepare their meals while the obese group had the problem of overeating and consuming an unbalanced diet (p < 0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary for both children with CP, who have a high degree of disability, and their caregivers to take lessons on adequate nutrient intake to prevent malnutrition. Moreover, it is necessary for the caregivers and children with CP having a low degree of disability to take lessons on providing and consuming a balanced diet and to focus on the intake of sufficient calcium in order to prevent obesity.

We have investigated the Intelligent Shift-map Module(ISM) to improve some problems in the conventional Automatic Transmission(AT) for automobiles. The typical AT lacks flexibility regarding the shift point because it does not consider the driver's habits and inclinations. Also it often is occurred phenomenon like kick-down. Therefore, we designed a decision module which considers the driving style of the individual driver. The driving style was determined by the inclination of the driver and the driving technique using actual automobile data. The Hierarchical Neural Network(HNN) was applied in generating an intelligent shift map with Multilayer Neural Network(MNN). It was found that the proposed ISM provided a suitable shift point and time because the necessary toque and velocity of the automobile was considered along with the driving style of each driver when designing the ISM.
Along with the increased use of smart devices, the incidence of turtle neck syndrome among modern people has increased. Turtle neck syndrome is a posture in which the head is forward compared to the torso due to longer front muscles in the neck and shorter upper muscles, and it is more effective to fix the usual posture habits than surgery or medication. Thus, in this paper, a system is proposed to detect and warn posture that can cause turtle neck syndrome in real time. Image data of correct posture and turtle neck posture are collected to create a CNN-based learning model. Using only the webcam(Built-in camera), the sitting position that enters the camera is verified in real time through the learning model, and if it is a turtle neck position, it generates a warning sound and induces the correct posture. The system can induce people to correct their usual posture habits to treat turtle neck syndrome and prevent more serious diseases such as neck discs.
