  • 소나 영상 시뮬레이션은 실시간 처리를 위해 병렬처리를 사용하여 연산성능을 증대시키고 있다. 하지만 모듈 간 병렬처리, 영상처리 알고리즘, 방대한 데이터 처리와 같은 시뮬레이션에 적용되는 작업은 성능향상을 위한 최적의 연산장치와 병렬처리 기법이 달라 실시간 처리를 위한 최적화가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 소나 영상 시뮬레이션의 개발을 위해 연산장치 및 병렬처리 기법에 따른 기술을 분류하고 실제 적용된 사례들을 소개한다.

Identification of Ozone-induced Skin Damage and Screening of Antioxidant for Ozone (오존에 의한 피부손상 확인 및 이를 방어하는 피부 외용제 소재의 탐색)

  • Ozone(O$_3$), one of best-known toxic air pollutant, act as a strong oxidant. It is possible that skins exposed to the air can be easily damaged by such oxidative air pollutants. Therefore, in the present study, anti-oxidative effects of natural product. on $O_2$ㆍ and ㆍOH were investigated by EPR. Ozone caused protein damage and lipid oxidation, in HaCaT and B16F10 leading ultimately to programmed cell death. It also reduced the level of antioxidant molecules including ascorbic acid and tocopherol in stratum comeum. However, antioxidants originated from natural products could protect skin from these products could protect skin from these oxidative damages. We concluded that eight natural extracts including Rosa davurica, Ligularia sibrica, Green tea acted as strong antioxidants against ozone.

담배가격인상이 보건의료지출에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구는 1998년에서 2003년 기간 동안의 통계청의 도시가계 원시자료를 활용하여 담배수요와 보건의료수요와의 가격탄력성을 추정하였다. 도시흡연기구의 월별지출에 각 년도의 가격지수를 일치시켜 선형 점근 준이상수요체계를 추정한 결과 담배가격인상이 보건의료수요에 분명한 부의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 담배의 가격탄력성은 -0.39 보건수요의 가격 탄력성은 -0.96으로 추정되었다. 특히 담배가격인상에 따른 보건수요의 교차 가격탄력성이 -0.32로 추정되어 담배가격의 두 배 인상에 따른 보건의료비의 감소율이 32%나 되는 것으로 파악되었다. 이상의 연구결과는 향후 담배가격 인상정책의 타당성 및 흡연감소에 따른 장 단기 편익산출에 기초 자료를 제공하게 된다. 즉 정부의 지속적인 담배가격인상은 국민건강에 엄청난 유익함으로 나타나게 될 것임을 암시하고 떠 2010년 까지의 국민건강증진목표의 달성에 구체적인 정책방향을 제시하고 있다.

  • In this paper, we present the CDMA2000 1x compliant mobile station modem chip (SCom5010) implemented in a 0.18${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology.[1] ARM940T cached processor. TeakLite DSP core, and other peripheral blocks are integrated with the baseband modem chip. Also we show novel verification methodologies and explain how this chip can be used as an emulation processor.

  • 전체송전용량은 열 안정도, 과도안정도, 전압안정도 등에 의하여 제한을 받게 되는데, 한전 전력시스템에서는 주로 전압안정도에 의하여 제한을 받는다. 현재에도 상당한 규모로 북상조류가 흐르고 있어서, 전력시스템의 안정도를 고려한 융통전력의 한계가 중요한 문제로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 평가선로 조류의 모선 전력 민감도를 활용하여 전체송전용량을 산정하는 기법이 IEEE 39 모선 테스트 시스템에 적용되며, 실제적으로 운용하고 있는 경제급전의 순서인 Merit order(우선 순위)를 적용하여 전체송전용량 산정을 하는 것과의 결과를 비교 검토한다.

Mechanisms of Competition betxeen Canopy-Forming and Turf-Forming Intertidal Algae

  • Mechanisms of competition between two canopy algae and an understory alga were investigated by a field manipulative experiment using artificial thalli. The study was carried out in the upper intertidal zone at Nudibranch Point in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, where two fucoids, Fucus gardneri and Pelvetiopsis limitata, and a turf red alga, Mazzaella cornucopiae, were dominant in the algal community. The experiment was designed to test three hypotheses, shading, whiplash, and allelopathy, imposed by potential fucoid effects on M. cornucopiae. Only the shading effect was significant, indicating that adult fucoid thalli reduced. M. cornucopiae biomass underneath the fucoids. Results indicated that reversal of competitive dominance existed between F. gardneri and M. cornucopiae depending on the life history stage of the competitors. By including the turf alga's effects on the fucoids, the well-balanced and non-hierarchical interaction networks among the major macroalgae support the high likelihood of species coexistence in the community.

Central Neurocytoma

  • Central neurocytoma is a rare, well-differentiated neuronal tumor and is usually located in the lateral or third ventricle of young adults. The occurrence of an intraventricular tumor with a characterisitic magnetic resonance image findings including isointense signal in T1-weighted images, the presence of a cystic component, small signal-void areas due to calcification, heterogenous and hyperintense "bubbly" appearance in T2-weighted images in a young patient should suggest preoperatively the diagnosis of central neurocytoma. The typical immunohistochemical finding, positivity for synaptophysin, is the main pathological feature. We experienced two cases of central neurocytomas with typical radiological and histopathological findings. We expect growth arrest of these cases by subtotal removal to avoid postoperative neurologic deficit followed by radiation therapy.

Epilepsy Surgery of the Cerebral Paragonimiasis

  • Objective : The authors investigate appropriate evaluation and surgical methods in treatment of the cerebral paragonimiasis accompanying epilepsy. Methods : Thirteen patients with the cerebral paragonimiasis accompanying epilepsy were included for this study. Preoperative evaluation methods included history taking, skin and serologic tests for Paragonimus westermani, neurologic examinations, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, amytal test, PET or SPECT, and video-EEG monitoring with depth and subdural grid electrodes. Seizure outcome was evaluated according to Engel's classification. Results : Surgical methods were temporal lobectomy including lesions in six, lesionectomy in five, and temporal lobectomy plus lesionectomy in two. Postoperative neurological complications were not noticed, and seizure outcomes were class I in 12 patients [92%], class II in one [8%]. Conclusion : In patients with a cerebral paragonimiasis accompanying epilepsy, further evaluation methods must be done to define the epileptogenic zone, and complete resection of the epileptogenic zone with different surgical methods should be performed for seizure control.

Brain Metastasis from Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans

  • Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans[DFSP] is an uncommon fibrohistiocytic tumor characterized by aggressive local invasion and consequent local recurrence rather than distant metastasis. We present a case of a 51-year-old male patient with a typical cutaneous DFSP, which showed local recurrences and distant metastasis to the central nervous system[CNS] and the lung after 15 years from the initial diagnosis. CNS metastatic lesions recurred in 5 months after surgical resection of the first CNS lesion. These metastatic tumors were treated by open surgery and gamma-knife radiosurgery. Despite continuous medication of oral chemotherapeutic agent, the patient died during 1-year follow-up period.

A Study on the Particle Embedding Phenomena on Machined Surface according to Cutting Fluid in End Milling (절삭유 필터링에 따른 엔드밀 가공면 입자 임베딩 현상에 관한 연구)

  • With the development of high speed and accuracy machining, the micro-chips are formed in the machining process and broken particles are circulated with the cutting fluid. The surface roughness and accuracy of part are deteriorated because the metal particles included in the cutting fluid are embedded on machined surface. In this study, the influences of particles for the machined surface according to filtering degrees are evaluated and the embedding mechanism is suggested.
