A Triple Residual Multiscale Fully Convolutional Network Model for Multimodal Infant Brain MRI Segmentation

  • The accurate segmentation of infant brain MR image into white matter (WM), gray matter (GM), and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is very important for early studying of brain growing patterns and morphological changes in neurodevelopmental disorders. Because of inherent myelination and maturation process, the WM and GM of babies (between 6 and 9 months of age) exhibit similar intensity levels in both T1-weighted (T1w) and T2-weighted (T2w) MR images in the isointense phase, which makes brain tissue segmentation very difficult. We propose a deep network architecture based on U-Net, called Triple Residual Multiscale Fully Convolutional Network (TRMFCN), whose structure exists three gates of input and inserts two blocks: residual multiscale block and concatenate block. We solved some difficulties and completed the segmentation task with the model. Our model outperforms the U-Net and some cutting-edge deep networks based on U-Net in evaluation of WM, GM and CSF. The data set we used for training and testing comes from iSeg-2017 challenge (http://iseg2017.web.unc.edu).

  • Autonomous mobile robots based on the Web have been already used in public places such as museums. There are many kinds of problems to be solved because of the limitation of Web and the dynamically changing environment. We present a methodology for intelligent mobile robot that demonstrates a certain degree of autonomy in navigation applications. In this paper, we focus on a mobile robot navigator equipped with neuro-fuzzy controller which perceives the environment, make decisions, and take actions. The neuro-fuzzy controller equipped with collision avoidance behavior and target trace behavior enables the mobile robot to navigate in dynamic environment from the start location to goal location. Most telerobotics system workable on the Web have used standard Internet techniques such as HTTP, CGI and Scripting languages. However, for mobile robot navigations, these tools have significant limitations. In our study, C# and ASP.NET are used for both the client and the server side programs because of their interactivity and quick responsibility. Two kinds of simulations are performed to verify our proposed method. Our approach is verified through computer simulations of collision avoidance and target trace.

Analysis of Hemocyte-specific Gene Expression from Bombyx mori

  • A previous data was provided information for tissuespecific expression genes by means of whole-genome oligonucleotide microarray in the silkworm. We analyzed the tissue-specific expression patterns in the hemocyte tissue on 5 days of 5th instar larvae during the development of $B.$ $mori$. Total 5 candidates pick out from the $Bombyx$ $mori$ Microarray Database (BmMDB; http://silkworm.swu.edu.cn/microarray). To verify the hemocyte-specific expression, we analyzed by semi-quantitative and real-time quantitative RT-PCR using the highly expressed endogenous $Actin$ RNA as an intrinsic reference. In this study, we confirmed that one gene-sw17255- out of 5 candidates expressed in the hemocyte tissue, which was consistent with the previous data. Circulating hemocytes in the body fluid of the $B.$ $mori$ are most powerful target organ for producing biomaterials. We need further studies to find hemocyte-specific promoter region from sw17255 gene. Finally, this result can be applied in creating transgenic silkworms as a biomedical insect.

인체를 대상으로 한 한의학적 비만 연구의 최신 국내 동향분석 (Trend Research of the Human Body-Oriented Obesity Studies on Korean Medicine)

  • Objectives To analyze the latest trend through the domestic studies of obesity and support further studies and clinical trials. Methods The theses were searched through KIOM OASIS (http://oasis.kiom.re.kr), The Journal of Society of Korean Medicine for Obesity Research, The Journal of Korean Medicine Rehabilitation. Then, domestic studies were gathered and classified by year, journal and type. Results 92 theses were included. The theses were constantly published every year. According to the analyzing by journals, the most published journal was The Journal of Society of Korean Medicine for Obesity Research. Through the analysis of type, 19 clinical studies and 11 case reports were found. The result of 43 theses analyzing survey and examination numerical value, the study of relationship between obesity and body index is the most published. Among 19 literary studies, 11 studies were searched domestic thesis, 2 studies were searched foreign thesis, 5 studies were searched domestic and foreign thesis simultaneously. Conclusions We need to effort to supplement the statistical error and the topic needs to be diverse. The sustainable research of The human body-oriented obesity studies is required.

Standard-based Integration of Heterogeneous Large-scale DNA Microarray Data for Improving Reusability

  • Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) has kept the largest amount of gene-expression microarray data that have grown exponentially. Microarray data in GEO have been generated in many different formats and often lack standardized annotation and documentation. It is hard to know if preprocessing has been applied to a dataset or not and in what way. Standard-based integration of heterogeneous data formats and metadata is necessary for comprehensive data query, analysis and mining. We attempted to integrate the heterogeneous microarray data in GEO based on Minimum Information About a Microarray Experiment (MIAME) standard. We unified the data fields of GEO Data table and mapped the attributes of GEO metadata into MIAME elements. We also discriminated non-preprocessed raw datasets from others and processed ones by using a two-step classification method. Most of the procedures were developed as semi-automated algorithms with some degree of text mining techniques. We localized 2,967 Platforms, 4,867 Series and 103,590 Samples with covering 279 organisms, integrated them into a standard-based relational schema and developed a comprehensive query interface to extract. 지식경영 시스템을 활용한 신규간호사 e-Learning 프로그램 개발 및 평가 (The Development and Evaluation of an e-Learning Program for Novice Nurses before Beginning to Work in a Hospital Using KMS(Knowledge Management System))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an e-Learning Program designed to enhance novice nurses's performance ability Method: The e-Learning program was designed for novice nurses before beginning to work in a hospital using a KMS(Knowledge Management System). This study was carried out from February 2006 to April 2007. The program had progressive steps including design, pilot test & modification, contents development, program application and evaluation. After the program design and pilot testing, the learner's satisfaction was analyzed. Result: The program site is http://kms.emc.ac.kr titled, 'Cyber Education Center'. The sixteen part course has been developed as follows: blood sugar test, skin test, insulin test 1, insulin test 2, blood culture, blood sampling, heat therapy, cold therapy, glycerin enema, preparation of operation, oxygen therapy, suction technique, transfusion, foley catheterization and aseptic technique. The overall learner's satisfaction score was 4.08 out of 5 points. Conclusion: E-Learning could be useful for education and nursing work. This method may be effective for clinical nurses.

인터넷 기반 토양유실도 제공 시스템 (Soil erosion map supply system based on Internet)

  • 본 연구는 자연재해대책법에 의해 개발사업으로 인한 재해유발요인을 예측 분석하고 이에 대한 대책을 강구하기 위해 수행되고 있는 사전재해영향평가에서 표준화된 한국토양유실도 자료를 제공하여 자료의 객관화를 이루도록 함을 목적으로 하고 있다. 한국토양유실도 제공 시스템은 2단계에 걸쳐서 수행할 계획이다. 1단계에서는 한국토양유실량 분포도를 RUSLE를 이용하여 작성하였다. 이 RUSLE모에서 강우 에너지인자 산정을 위한 강우량 자료는 기상청의 59개 기상관측소의 1977년부터 2006년까지의 30년간의 자료를 이용하여 24시간 지속시간의 전국 R값을 빈도별로 산정하여 강우에너지인자에 대한 주제도를 작성하였다. 또한 사용한 GIS자료는 USGS DTED Level-2, 국립농업과학원의 정밀 토양도, 환경부의 중분류 토지피복도 자료이고 이들 자료를 이용하여 RUSLE의 각인자별 주제도를 작성하였고, 이를 웹사이트(http://krsc.kict.re.kr/RUSLE/rusle.asp)를 통해 신청인으로부터 메일로 범위(행정구역경계, 1/25,000수치지도 도엽번호, 수자원단위지도 등)를 요청 받거나 수자원단위지도의 중권역 및 표준권역의 경우 사용자가 직접 자료요청을 하여 토양유실도를 제공받는 시스템이다. 2단계에서는 작성된 한국토양유실량 분포도를 제공하는 것은 물론이며, 사용자가 원하는 범위에 대하여 shape 파일을 입력, 강우에너지인자(R) 입력, 그리고 토지피복별에 따른 RUSLE의 C 혹은 P값을 수정하여 분석하거나, 현재 토양통별로 제시된 K값을 사용자가 직접 관측한 값을 이용하여 Web-RUSLE시스템에 입력하면 자동으로 토양유실량을 산정할 수 있는 시스템으로 구축할 계획이다.

  • 웹데브는 HTTP1.1의 확장으로서 지역적으로 분산된 사용자들 사이에 공동 저작활동을 지원하는 표준 프로토콜이다. 웹데브의 주요 기능인 속성 관리는 저장소의 역할과 함께 자원의 추가 정보를 관리하고 활용할 수 있는 장점을 가지며, 웹데브 접근 제어 프로토콜을 이용하면 사용자에 대한 접근제어를 보다 효과적으로 설정, 관리할 수 있다. 따라서 웹데브 기반의 응용 프로그램을 개발하기 위해서는 사용자 정의 속성의 설계 및 속성의 효과적인 관리 그리고 사용자에 대한 접근 권한 설계가 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 협업을 지원하는 팀작업장에 필요한 웹데브 사용자 정의 속성을 설계하고 설계된 속성을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 방법 그리고 웹데브 접근 제어 프로토콜을 이용하여 사용자에 대한 접근 권한을 효과적으로 적용하는 방법을 제안한다. 웹데브를 기반으로 한 팀작업장이 개발됨으로써 협업을 위한 자료의 공유 및 교환을 보다 효율적으로 지원한다.

  • 웹데브는 HTTP 1.1을 확장한 프로토콜로서 사용자들이 원거리에 있는 웹서버의 파일을 편집하거나 관리할 수 있도록 지원하는 IETF 표준 프로토콜이다. 최근에는 웹데브 서버 상의 자원에 대한 접근을 보다 정교하게 제어하기 위하여 웹데브 접근제어 프로토콜이 발표되었다. 본 논문에서는 웹데브 접근제어 프로토콜을 바탕으로 일반적인 방문자들과의 자료 교환이나 공유를 체계적으로 지원하는 공개작업장의 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 공개작업장은 자료제공 공개작업장, 자료제출 공개작업장, 일반 공개작업장 등의 세가지 유형이 지원되며 이러한 작업장의 유형에 따라 사용자들의 접근을 적절히 제어하도록 접근제어를 설계하였다. 또한 공개작업장의 지원을 위하여 Slide 웹데브 서버를 확장하였으며, 공개작업장의 실제적인 활용을 위하여 공개작업장 전용 클라이언트인 OpenDAVExpiorer를 개발하였다.

Development of an Agricultural Data Middleware to Integrate Multiple Sensor Networks for an Farm Environment Monitoring System

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to develop a data middleware for u-IT convergence in agricultural environment monitoring, which can support non-standard data interfaces and solve the compatibility problems of heterogenous sensor networks. Methods: Six factors with three different interfaces were chosen as target data among the environmental monitoring factors for crop cultivation. PostgresSQL and PostGIS were used for database and the data middleware was implemented by Python programming language. Based on hierarchical model design and key-value type table design, the data middleware was developed. For evaluation, 2,000 records of each data access interface were prepared. Results: Their execution times of File I/O interface, SQL interface and HTTP interface were 0.00951 s/record, 0.01967 s/record and 0.0401 s/record respectively. And there was no data loss. Conclusions: The data middleware integrated three heterogenous sensor networks with different data access interfaces.
