Using ab initio density functional theory, we study the structural and electronic properties of interface between Cu surface and highly electron withdrawing hexaazatriphenylene-hexanitrile (HAT-CN) known as an efficient hole injection layer for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). We calculate the equilibrium geometries of the interface with different HAT-CN coverages. Usually, some of C-N bonds located at the edge of the HAT-CN molecule are deformed toward Cu atoms resulting in the reconstruction of Cu surface. By analyzing the electron charge and the potential distributions over the interface, we observe the formation of surface dipoles, which modify the work function at the interface. Such dipole formation is attributed to two origins, one of which is a geometrical nature and the other is a bond dipole. The former is related to structural deformation mentioned above, whereas the latter is due to charge transfer between organic and metal surface.

Let k be a global field of characteristic unequal to two. Let $C:y^2=f(x)$ be a nonsingular projective curve over k, where f(x) is a quartic polynomial over k with nonzero discriminant, and K = k(C) be the function field of C. For each prime spot p on k, let ${\hat{k}}_p$ denote the corresponding completion of k and ${\hat{k}}_p(C)$ the function field of $C{\times}_k{\hat{k}}_p$. Consider the map $$h:Br(K){\rightarrow}{\prod\limits_{\mathfrak{p}}}Br({\hat{k}}_p(C))$$, where p ranges over all the prime spots of k. In this paper, we explicitly describe all the constant classes (coming from Br(k)) lying in the kernel of the map h, which is an obstruction to the Hasse principle for the Brauer groups of the curve. The kernel of h can be expressed in terms of quaternion algebras with their prime spots. We also provide specific examples over ${\mathbb{Q}}$, the rationals, for this kernel.

Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT) also known as sleeping sickness, is a neglected tropical vector borne disease caused by trypanosome protozoa transmitted by bites of infected tsetse fly. The basic reproduction number, R₀ derived using the next generation matrix method which shows that the disease persists in the population if the value of R₀ > 1. The numerical simulations of optimal control model carried out to determine the control strategy that can combat HAT under the minimum cost. The results indicate that, the use of both education campaign, treatment and insecticides are more efficient and effective to eliminate HAT in African community but too costly. Furthermore, the cost-effectiveness of the control measures (education campaign, treatment and insecticides) were determined using incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) approach and the results show that, the use of education and treatment of infected people as the best cost effective strategy compared to other strategies.

In this paper, we propose a new estimation method based on a weighted linear regression framework to obtain some estimators for unknown parameters in a two-parameter Rayleigh distribution under a progressive Type-II censoring scheme. We also provide unbiased estimators of the location parameter and scale parameter which have a nuisance parameter, and an estimator based on a pivotal quantity which does not depend on the other parameter. The proposed weighted least square estimator (WLSE) of the location parameter is not dependent on the scale parameter. In addition, the WLSE of the scale parameter is not dependent on the location parameter. The results are compared with the maximum likelihood method and pivot-based estimation method. The assessments and comparisons are done using Monte Carlo simulations and real data analysis. The simulation results show that the estimators ${\hat{\mu}}_u({\hat{\theta}}_p)$ and ${\hat{\theta}}_p({\hat{\mu}}_u)$ are superior to the other estimators in terms of the mean squared error (MSE) and bias.

Let G = (V, E) be a connected finite graph. We study the existence of solutions for the following generalized Chern-Simons equation on G $${\Delta}u={\lambda}e^u(e^u-1)^5+4{\pi}\sum_{s=1}^{N}\delta_{ps}$$, where λ > 0, δ_ps is the Dirac mass at the vertex p_s, and p₁, p₂, . . . , p_N are arbitrarily chosen distinct vertices on the graph. We show that there exists a critical value $\hat{\lambda}$ such that when λ > $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has at least two solutions, when λ = $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has a solution, and when λ < $\hat{\lambda}$, the generalized Chern-Simons equation has no solution.

La mode d'auiourd'hui oscille entre masculin et $f\hat{e}minin$. Cette fusion de la mode semble le reflet d'une tendance intersexuelle et d'une fusion du genre. Ainsi, cette recherche est, $\grave{a}$ travers $l'\'{e}l\'{e}ment$ masculin ou $f\'{e}minin$ des $v\hat{e}tements$, pour tenter de discerner lesprit, l'intention et le $caract\`{e}re$ sexuel dominant du porteur.

The present study deals with the investigation about the improvement of performance of tidal stream turbine blade (HAT) with tip rake. HAT impeller has sometimes experienced noise and vibration by Tip vortex which causes even erosion and severe efficiency loss to the blade, The newly proposed tip rake impeller can make the tip vortex week compared with a normal impeller by preventing the three dimensional effect at tip region. In order to find out the optimum rake impeller, three cases have been designed and the performance of the designed rake impellers has been validated by the commercial CFD code(Fluent). The efficiency of optimized rake impeller was up to 4.6% higher than the conventional impeller. The more parametric study for high efficiency and good cavitation performance is expected to be conducted in a near future.

The inhibitory effect of histone acetyltransferase from methanol extract of Terminalia chebula Retz. fruit (TCME) was investigated in prostate cancer cell. TCME significantly inhibited histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity by over 50% at 100 ${\mu}g/mL$ concentration. TCME treatment repressed androgen receptor (AR) mediated transcription, mRNA level of AR target genes, prostate specific antigen (PSA) and NKX-3.1, as well as AR acetylation. Finally, the prostate cancer cell viability was dramatically reduced by TCME treatment at 0~100 ${\mu}g/mL$ concentration. These results indicated that TCME, as a potent HAT inhibitor, could suppress prostate cancer cell growth by AR mediated transcription regulation.
