  • In this paper, we introduce a wireless package system based on the amateur radio HR(HAM Radio) and satellite communication as a novel wireless disaster communication system and have configured a interference scenario receiving interference from adjacent base stations and D2D groups in the disaster network. In such interference scenarios, we propose a frequency re-allocation method to avoid interference and communicate with disaster networks by securing the channel capacity required between D2D terminals. As a result of computer simulation, we can find the proposed method has improved BED performance of a gain of 1.5dB and overall system throughput than conventional methods.

  • Radio-frequency driven atmospheric pressure plasma using argon gas was studied in the inactivation of Campylobacter jejuni in order to investigate its applicability. First, the inactivation study was conducted on an agar surface. C. jejuni NCTC11168 was reduced by more than 7 Log CFU after an 88 s treatment. Another strain, ATCC49943, was studied; however, the inactivation was less efficient, with a 5 Log CFU reduction after a 2 min treatment. Then, chicken breast ham was studied at the $10^6$ CFU inoculation level. The inactivation efficiency was much lower for both strains compared to that on the agar plates. C. jejuni NCTC11168 and ATCC49943 were reduced by 3 Log CFU after a 6 min treatment and by 1.5 Log CFU after a 10 min treatment, respectively. The scanning electron microscopy analysis indicated that C. jejuni cells were deformed or transformed into coccoid form under the plasma treatment. During the plasma treatment, the temperature of the samples did not rise above $43^{\circ}C$, suggesting that heat did not contribute to the inactivation. Meanwhile, water activity significantly decreased after a 10 min treatment (p<0.05). This study conveyed that radio-frequency atmospheric pressure plasma can effectively inactivate C. jejuni with strain-specific variation.

  • In this paper, we introduce satellite communication for new wireless disaster network to be built on the basis of amateur radio HR (HAM Radio) as a wireless package system, and channel environments of a D2D terminal that tries to connect and communicate with the wireless disaster network. In this disaster network, we propose a LOS component ratio based adaptive channel modeling approach to accurately estimate a variety of channels whose the D2D terminal could have and smoothly transfer to the level of multimedia data based on the Okumura-Hata channel model. As a result of computer simulation, performance of the proposed method was compared with the that of Okumura-Hata model of open area and urban area model and we were confirmed that there is a gain of BER performance from the results of the computer simulation.

  • Methods of 14C-radio isotope labeling of quinolone intermediates at four different sites are described. 14C-radio isotope labeled quinolone intermediates can be synthesized from 14C-1-malonic acid, 14C-2-malonic acid, 14C-benzene ring. and 14C-trimethyl orthoformate. The major site of 14C-radio isotope labeled quinolone intermediates is from 14C-2-malonic acid. We want to help customers to choose the best way for synthesis of 14C-radio isotope labeled quinolone derivatives. and give a general comprehension for 14C-radio isotope labeled pharmaceutical compounds. • An oil tracking system that monitors the spilt oil trajectory by using GPS was developed. The system consists of a tracking buoy deployed on the oil spilt area and an onshore(or onboard) monitoring station. The tracking buoy is equipped with GPS, signal converter, handy radio and battery while the monitoring station includes a station radio, signal converter, antennas and PC. The hull shape of buoy is designed to effectively simulate the spilt oil movement at sea surface. Radio sets for HAM are used as a data transmitter and a data receiving station, and signal converter is also for amateur use. A field experiment was conducted and it was shown that the integrated system is relable and robust. The developed oil tracking system reveals reatively good performance at reasonable cost. In favorable environment the system may communicate in the distance more than 50km.

  • In this paper, data rate of VDSL system was analyzed in RFI(Radio Frequency Interference) environment. This Paper used Various 'VDSL Test Loop' suggested by ANSI DSL Standard group TIE1.4.Many parameters, 'Noise Model A', 'Noise Model F' and KARL-HAM band are used for more accurate results of the simulation. Most of conditions for simulation are followed to the ANSI Standard 'Spectrum management'. Many results have been calculated according to the different conditions of the test loops in simulation. Simulation results confirm that using shaped PSD mask to reject RFI is one of factor to decrease the performance of VDSL systems.

  • High altitude platform station(HAPS) is being developed actively in some countries as well as Korea. At the same time Resolution 734 was adopted in WRC-2000 to study the sharing of HAPS into the existing fixed services in the bands above 3GHz. As one of the sharing studies, interferences between HAPS and radio-relay stations should be analyzed by dividing into two cases, the one is the interference effects of HAPS system into radio-relay stations and on the contrary, the other that of radio-relay stations into HAPS system. Since the former case had been already studied, only the latter case will be focused on this paper. Analysis result shows that the coordination distance must be needed above 100 km when the trendline of radio-relay is located vertical to HAPS service area and the transmitting power is -50 dBW/MHz.

  • An ultra-compact and wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) in a quad flat non-leaded (QFN) package is presented. The LNA monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) is implemented in a $0.25{\mu}m$ GaN IC technology on a Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrate provided by Triquint. A source degeneration inductor and a gate inductor are used to obtain the noise and input matching simultaneously. The resistive feedback and inductor peaking techniques are employed to achieve a wideband characteristic. The LNA chip is mounted in the $3{\times}3-mm^2$ QFN package and measured. The supply voltages for the first and second stages are 14 V and 7 V, respectively, and the total current is 70 mA. The highest gain is 13.5 dB around the mid-band, and -3 dB frequencies are observed at 0.7 and 12 GHz. Input and output return losses ($S_{11}$ and $S_{22}$) of less than -10 dB measure from 1 to 12 GHz; there is an absolute bandwidth of 11 GHz and a fractional bandwidth of 169%. Across the bandwidth, the noise figures (NFs) are between 3 and 5 dB, while the output-referred third-order intercept points (OIP3s) are between 26 and 28 dBm. The overall chip size with all bonding pads is $1.1{\times}0.9mm^2$. To the best of our knowledge, this LNA shows the best figure-of-merit (FoM) compared with other published GaN LNAs with the same gate length.
