철근콘크리트 속빈 단면 보의 곡률연성지수 특성 (The Characteristics of Curvature Ductility Factor of Reinforced Concrete Hollow Section Beams)

  • 콘크리트 구조물이 대형화됨에 따라 고교각, 장지간의 보 등 부재가 장대화되고 있으며, 장지간의 철근콘크리트 부재에서는 자중을 줄이고 강성을 증가시키기 위해 속빈 단면을 사용하는 것이 증가하는 추세이다. 본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 속빈 단면 보의 모멘트-곡률 관계를 해석적 방법으로 구하여 속빈 부분의 크기, 상부플랜지와 복부의 철근 배치조건이 부재의 휨거동 및 곡률연성지수에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 속빈 부분의 크기($b_i/b_o$ 또는 $h_i/h_o$)가 0.5이하일 때에는 곡률연성지수가 일정하게 유지되며, 0.7이상이 되면 곡률연성지수가 급격히 감소하였다. 또한, 복부에 철근을 배치하면 곡률연성지수가 감소하며 단철근 보에서와 같은 수준의 연성지수를 얻기 위해서는 복부에 배치한 철근과 같은 양을 상부플랜지에 배치해야 하는 것으로 나타났다.

H대학교 아음속 풍동 개념설계 (Concept Design of a H.A.U.'s Subsonic Wind Tunnel)

  • A closed-circuit type wind tunnel is designed, which has a test section with the dimensions $1.2(W){\times}1.2(H){\times}3.4(L)$. A subsonic wind tunnel is designed to improves educational circumstances and promote ground tests. It is constituted of an exchangeable test section, first and second diffusers, a fan, a settling chamber, a contraction, and 4 corners. The maximum velocity in the test section is 70m/s and the contraction ratio is 6.25:1. Input power in the wind tunnel is about 96.1 kw (128.8 hp) and its energy ratio is 3.89. It has the dimension of about $7.4(W){\times}3.6(H){\times}21.7m(L)$. The wind tunnel designed in this investigation will be an effective educational and investigational equipment.

Flow characteristics and alkalinity of novel bioceramic root canal sealers

  • Objective: This study aimed to examine the physical properties (pH and flow) of 2 novel bioceramic sealers. Materials and Methods: The tested sealers were a calcium hydroxide sealer (Sealapex) and 2 bioceramic sealers (BioRoot RCS and TotalFill BC Sealer). Flow measurements were conducted according to ISO 6876/2012, with a press method of 0.05 mL of sealer. The pH of fresh samples was tested immediately after manipulation, while set samples were stored for 3 times the recommended setting time. The predetermined time intervals ranged from 3 minutes to 24 hours for fresh samples and from 10 minutes to 7 days and 4 weeks for the set samples. Analysis of variance was performed, with p = 0.05 considered indicating significance. Results: The mean flow values were 26.99 mm for BioRoot, 28.19 for Sealapex, and 30.8 mm for TotalFill BC Sealer, satisfying the ISO standard. In the set samples, BioRoot RCS had higher pH values at 24 hours to 1 week after immersion in distilled water. At 2 weeks, both bioceramic sealers had similar pH values, greater than that of Sealapex. In the fresh samples, the bioceramic sealers had significantly higher initial pH values than Sealapex (p < 0.05). At 24 hours post-immersion, all sealers showed an alkaline pH, with the highest pH observed for TotalFill. Conclusions: The TotalFill BC Sealer demonstrated the highest flow. The bioceramic sealers initially presented higher alkaline activity than the polymeric calcium hydroxide sealer. However, at 3 and 4 weeks post-immersion, all sealers had similar pH values.

  • It is very important that there are saving resource and energy in the future as well as in these day. Weight saving of structural parts, which are formed by extrusion, plays a key role in manufacturing field. Especially these aluminum parts used in the car need other processes to vary the cross section in the axial direction. Thus, applications of these parts are limited by high cost. if the cross section of the parts is variable by only extrusion, application of extruded aluminum parts will more increase. Therefore, a new CNC extruder which can control the section area of a car part was invented the nation's first. Using the extrusion machine, the experiment and FE analysis were performed during the varied section extrusion process.

Closed Type 절연구분장치 적용에 관한 연구 (An Application Study of the Closed Type Section Insulators to the High Speed Catenary System)

  • Section insulators are indispensible devices for the electric railways, which divide electrical connections between the trolley lines without losing mechanical connections, and this means that they should have both good electrical insulation performance and mechanical performance for pantograph interaction. This paper reviews some technical aspects of the several type section insulators and makes analysis of difficulties during operation. The closed type section insulators are proposed for newly electrified railways, because they have good mechanical and electrical performances for high speed trains up to 200[km/H]. Technical specifications of closed-type section insulators based on survey of the advanced technologies are provided, and also the neutral section configuration method which might be the best solution for newly electrified railways in Korea of 200km/H speed.

신형상 층고절감형 합성보의 최적단면 도출에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimum Section of New Type Steel-Concrete Composite Beam)

  • 본 연구에서는 신형상 층고절감형 합성보에 대한 최적단면을 도출하기 위해 단면성능 계산 프로그램을 개발하여 단면성능에 대해 비교 분석을 하였다. 신형상 합성보는 상부 플랜지 하부에 바닥시스템이 위치하여 전통적인 공법에 비해 층고절감의 효과와 최적단면으로 설계시 공기의 단축과 비용의 절감은 물론 물량의 감소를 기대 할 수 있다. 그러나 단면은 기존 H형강 보와 달리 상하 비대칭으로 중립축의 위치가 중앙에 위치하지 않기 때문에 상하연단에 대한 단면계수가 같지 않게 된다. 이에 따른 상하플랜지 판요소의 두께비에 따른 매개 변수적 분석이 요구된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 단면의 상부 플랜지 두께에 대한 하부 플랜지 두께의 비에 따른 중립축위치, 단면계수의 변화추이를 분석하여 최적단면을 도출하는데 주목적을 두었다.

Seismic performance of a novel bolt-and-welded connection of box-section beam and box-section column

  • The H-shaped steel beam is popular due to its ease of manufacturing and connection to the column. This profile, which is used as a shallow beam, needs the high weak-axis bending stiffness and torsional stiffness to meet the overall stability. Achieving the local beam flange stability, bearing capacity, bending stiffness, and torsional requirements need a great thickness and width of the beam flange, which causes, which will cause more uneconomical structural design. So, the box-section beam is the ideal alternative. However, the current design specifications do not have design rules for the bolt-and-welded connection of the box-section beam and box-section column. The paper proposes a novel bolt-and-welded connection of the box-section beams and box-section columns based on a high-rise structural design scheme. Three connection models, BASE, WBF, and RBS, are analyzed under cyclic loading in ABAQUS software. The failure modes, hysteresis response, bearing capacity, ductility, plastic rotation angle, energy dissipation, and stiffness degradation of all models are determined and compared. Compared with the other two models, the model WBF exhibited excellent seismic performance, ductility, and plastic rotation ability. Finally, model WBF was chosen as the connection scheme used in the project design.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ROLLED H SECTION STEEL WELDS JOINTED BY NEWLY DEVELOPED FLASH WELDING SYSTEM

  • In the civil engineering and architecture fields, welding for large sectional members, such as I section steel and H section steel, are usually performed. a flash welding system, by which large I section steel or H section steel can be welded for a short time, was newly developed. In order to know the basic characteristics of welded joints, the specimens were cut out from flash welded joints, and tensile and fatigue experiments were carried out. The joint efficiency of welded joints by flash welding is 100% for the specimens with reinforcements and 93% for without reinforcements. The fatigue strength of welded joints with reinforcement was about 50% of that of the base metal. Removing the reinforcement generated by flash welding, fatigue strength of flash welded joints became 75% of that of the base metal. In case of flash welded joints with reinforcements, after a couple of fatigue cracks had propagated, ductile fracture occurred at the toe. In flash welded joints without reinforcements, fracture occurred at the bond or at HAZ (Heat Affected Zone). In case of fracture at the bond, fracture was brittle, and in case at HAZ, fracture was ductile.

전차선로 속도향상에 따른 오버랩 구간(Overlap section) 경간 구성 기법 (Research on Configuration Optimization of Overlap Section in Overhead Catenary System for High-speed Railway)

  • Overhead catenary system of electric railway has overlap sections which devide and tighten trolley wire supplying electric power to train, where current collection performances may become worse according to railway speed-up. Current collection tests conducted at 400 km/h test-bed section of Honam high-speed railway show that balanced line arrangement at overlap section is needed to secure current collection without arc generation between trolley wire and train current collection device. This paper proposes a design procedure of the overlap section to allow for tension increase and uplift of the trolley wires according to railway speed-up. By applying the proposed procedure to the overhead catenary system of Honam high-speed railway, it is suggested that the minimum span length should be 33.2 m for railway speed-up to 350 km/h and 43.7 m for speed-up to 400 km/h.

  • This study involves a Common Cause Failure (CCF) problem on the ultra-high reliability required system development such as war game operations, nuclear power control, air traffic control, space shuttle missions, and large scale network communication system. The system situation problems are defined according to CCF, reliability and system fault identifications for the development cast verifications in the multi-version redundant software system. Then, CCF analysis of redundant system, system principles and statistical dependence are also described. This validation oh the CCF in the human software interaction system will notify software engineers to conceive what really is CCF contribution factor, not only the internal but the external ones.
