  • We fabricated field-effect transistor based carbon nanotubes(CNTs) directly grown by thermal chemical vapor deposition(CVD) and analyzed their performance. The Ethylene ($C_2H_4$), hydrogen($H_2$) and Argon(Ar) gases were used for the growth of CNTs at $700\;^{\circ}C$. The growth properties of CNTs on the device were analyzed by SEM and AFM. The electrical transport characteristics of CNT FET were investigated by I-V measurement. Transport through the nanotubes is dominated by holes at room temperature. By varying the gate voltage, we successfully modulated the conductance of FET device by more than 7 orders of magnitude.

  • This paper discusses contents of the existing design, the behaviours prediction on the strut and retaining wall around subsurfaces, and also evaluates the measured results in comparison with the management criterion during excavation period of ventilation shaft at Pusan-Subway 220. Field measurements showed that maximum displacement 23.74 mm at boundary site of multistratification and the weathered rock to be formed at 0.2~0.6 H of total excavating depth(H), 68 ton of maximum axial force and 4.4X102 kg/cm2 of stress on strut. The measured axial force exceeds prediction levels by up to 50 percent at the weathered soil & rock, and the others come under the category of their levels. The great gap of both field measurements and prediction on behaviour makes a difference of the site situation at the design stage and the practical working. This measured value is greatly safety in comparison with that of the safety criterion, but axial force at 4~5 strut of ventilation shaft l is higher than the prediction.

  • Magneto plasma has been widely used for controlled fusion and material processings such as etchings, depositions, and sputterings in the various fields. For controlling and guaranting the equipment, precision plasma parameters must be gained. In this experiment, using single probe and double probes, we investigated the effect of magnetic field on magneto plasma. As a result of this experiment, we found the fact that single probe was largely affected by magnetic field for measuring magneto plasma parameters, while double probe was not.

  • The magnetic flux profiles in SmBCO and YBCO coated conductors(CC) in the presence of the external field were comparatively investigated by magneto-optic image and scanning hall probe measurements. The current distributions calculated by using the inversion method from measured field profiles show that the decrease of current densities near the edges of SmBCO CC is more significant than those of YBCO CC. Through the comparison of the numerical analysis based on Kim's critical state model and the Brandt and Indenbom's solution, we found that this feature is related to their different field dependant properties of the critical current densities.

  • For two decades and more, a lot of research work on the biological effects of EMF (Electromagnetic Field) on human health have been reported. Electric facilities in a typical substation are the main source of magnetic field. This paper presents the measurement and analysis of magnetic field in 345/154KV outdoor substation. The magnetic field depends on the currents which distributed by electric facilities. The result of this paper will be able to be used as basic informations to reduce the level of EMF from the electric utility facilities.

  • By appliying an slternate pulsed magnetic field -generated by using a sequential ignition circuit and a magnet exciting circuit- with peak value of about 10 T to the rod type Nd based magnet Nd2Fe12.7Cr1.3B with length of 5 mm and diameter of 3.6 mm, the basic magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization, residual magnetization, coercivity, maximum energy products, magnetic anisotropy and anisotropic field are investigated with obtaining the major and minor J-H loops of the magnet. The increase in coercivity due to eddy currents in ac measurement of coercivity is calculated considering eddy current loss by analyzing a wave of generating magnetic field. The average coercivity calculated for the magnet is about 12.2 kOe, anisotropy magnetic field and anisotropic constant are measured as 60 kOe 2.43 Mj/$m^3$, respectively.

  • In this work, an analytical solution is provided for the dynamical response of an orthotropic non-homogeneous elastic material. The present study has engineering applications in the fields of geophysical physics, structural elements, plasma physics, and the corresponding measurement techniques of magneto-elasticity. The analytical performances for the elastodynamic equations has been solved regarding displacements. The influences of the rotation, the magnetic field, the non-homogeneity based radial displacement and the corresponding stresses in an orthotropic material are investigated. The variations of the stresses, the displacement, and the perturbation magnetic field have been illustrated. The comparisons is performed using the previous solutions in the magnetic field absence, the non-homogeneity and the rotation.

  • In this article, an analytical solution of the dynamical behavior in an orthotropic non-homogeneity elastic material using for elastodynamics equations is investigated. The effects of the magnetic field, the initial stress, and the non-homogeneity on the radial displacement and the corresponding stresses in an orthotropic material are investigated. The analytical solution for the elastodynamic equations has solved regarding displacements. The variation of the stresses, the displacement, and the perturbation magnetic field have shown graphically. Comparisons are made with the previous results in the absence of the magnetic field, the initial stress, and the non-homogeneity. The present study has engineering applications in the fields of geophysical physics, structural elements, plasma physics, and the corresponding measurement techniques of magneto-elasticity.

  • The angular dependence of the exchange bias($H_{ex}$) and coercivity($H_c$) in multilayer $[Pt/Co]_N-IrMn$ with applied measuring field rotated toward in-plane at angle $\theta$ from perpendicular-to-plane, has been measured. Multilayer films consisting of $Si/SiO_2/Ta(50)/Pt(4)/[Pt(15)/Co(t_{Co})]_N/IrMn(50)/Ta(50)(in\;{\AA})$ were prepared by magnetron sputtering under typical base pressure below $2{\times}10^{-8}$ Torr at room temperature. Magnetization measurements were performed on a vibrating sample magnetometer and extraordinary Hall voltage measurement systems after cooling from 550 K under a field of 2 kOe applied along the perpendicular to film direction. The hysteresis loop shifts from the origin not only along the field axis but also along the magnetization axis. $H_{ex}$ and $H_c$ show a $1/cos{\theta}$ and $1/|cos{\theta}|$ dependence on the angle($\theta$) between the applied measuring field and the perpendicular-film direction, respectively. This $1/cos{\theta}$ dependence can be accounted for by considering the angular dependence of strong out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy introduced during the field cooling.

  • This study is to make a basic study if solid zinc (Zn) can be used for buried reference electrode, so we examined the adequacy of zinc as reference electrode by using zinc which showed regular electrode for buried period. The deference of electric potential if zinc electrode for corrosion factor such as soil resistivity or pH didn't show fixed trend and there was no clear trend on the change of measurement period. From field test, it is known that the natural electric potential difference of CSE electrode and zinc electrode is 1,100mV, but the electric potential of zinc electrode for CSE electrode in the natural soil and copying soil was 1,094~1,158mV. There was no fixed trend on the change of measurement period and electric potential difference of zinc electrode for corrosion factors such as soil resistivity or pH. Consequently, there was 40~60mV of electric potential difference in every copying soil during the experiment measurement.
