The Effect of Electrochemical Treatment in Lowering Alkali Leaching from Cement Paste to an Aquatic Environment: Part 1- Leachability of Alkali Ions (전기화학적 기법을 통한 시멘트페이스트의 수중노출에 따른 알칼리이온 침출저감 효과: Part 1- 알칼리이온의 침출능)

  • In this study, the effect of electrochemical treatment in mitigating alkali leaching into an aquatic environment was investigated. To modify the surface of cement paste, 1000 mA/m2 of the direct current was passed through anodic graphite to the external mesh for 4 weeks. Then, the cement paste specimen was exposed to still water in air-tight condition to prevent natural healing of alkali leaching in the water. For 100 days of monitoring in water, the pH value was marginally increased at the electrochemical treatment, while control specimen ranked to the even higher pH accounting for 13.2 in the pH. Moreover, after the pH monitoring, the pH profile for the paste specimen indicated that the electrochemical treatment was effective in securing the higher alkalinity of cement matrix. The water obtained from alkali leaching process, was used to ecological test for Daphnia magna. It was evident that the electrochemical treatment had minimal adverse effect on ecological impact, while control specimen mostly immobilized the standard Daphnia magna.

Air Sampling and Isotope Analyses of Water Vapor and CO2 using Multi-Level Profile System (다중연직농도시스템(Multi-Level Profile System)을 이용한 수증기와 이산화탄소 시료채취 및 안정동위원소 조성 분석)

  • The multi-level $H_2O/CO_2$ profile system has been widely used to quantify the storage and advection effects on energy and mass fluxes measured by eddy covariance systems. In this study, we expanded the utility of the profile system by accommodating air sampling devices for isotope analyses of water vapor and $CO_2$. A pre-evacuated 2L glass flask was connected to the discharge of an Infrared Gas Analyzer (IRGA) of the profile system so that airs with known concentration of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ can be sampled. To test the performance of this sampling system, we sampled airs from 8 levels (from 0.1 to 40 m) at the KoFlux tower of Gwangneung deciduous forest, Korea. Air samples in the 2L flask were separated into its component gases and pure $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ were extracted by using a vacuum extraction line. This novel technique successfully produced vertical profiles of ${\delta}D$ of $H_2O$ and ${\delta}^{13}C$ of $CO_2$ in a mature forest, and estimated ${\delta}D$ of evapotranspiration (${\delta}D_{ET}$) and ${\delta}^{13}C$ of $CO_2$ from ecosystem respiration (${\delta}^{13}C_{resp}$) by using Keeling plots. While technical improvement is still required in various aspects, our sampling system has two major advantages over other proposed techniques. First, it is cost effective since our system uses the existing structure of the profile system. Second, both $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ can be sampled simultaneously so that net ecosystem exchange of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ can be partitioned at the same temporal resolution, which will improve our understanding of the coupling between water and carbon cycles in terrestrial ecosystems.

  • we applied Wind Field Module of PHRLM so that disaster prevention agency concerned can effectively estimate the possible strong wind damages by typhoon. In this study, therefore, we estimated wind speed at 300m level using 700hPa wind according to the research method by Franklin(2003), PHRLM(2003), and Vickery and Skerlj(2005). Then we calculated wind speed at 10m level using the estimated wind speed at 300m level, and finally, peak 3.second gust on surface. The case period is from 18LST August 31 to 03LST September 1, 2002, when the typhoon Rusa in 2002 was the most intense. Among disaster prediction models in the US, Wind Field Module of PHRLM in Florida was used for the 2002 typhoon Rusa case. As a result, peak 3.second gust on the surface increased $10\sim20%$ in the typhoon's 700hPa wind speed.

  • The designed module save to memory after received Image from CMOS image Sensor(CIS), and set a motion of Encoder module, read from memory per one macroblock each original Image and reference image then supply or save. the time required 470 cycle when processed one macroblock. For designed construct verification, I develop reference Encoder C like JM 9.4 and I proved this module with test vector which achieved from reference encoder C.

A Convergence Study on the Effects of Improving Buckwheat Dietary Fiber in Mice with Hyperlipidemia and Oxidative Stress (고지혈증과 산화적 스트레스가 유도된 생쥐에서 메밀 식이섬유의 개선 효과에 대한 융합 연구)

  • The effect of buckwheat dietary fiber (BDF) as hypolipidemic and antioxidant agent were determined in C57BL/6 mice fed a high fat diet (HFD) with different doses of 500 (low, BDF-L) or 1,000 (high, BDF-H) mg/kg of body weight, compared with the HFD-diet control group (HFD). The negative control group (ND) was fed the basal diet. Body weights in the BDF-L and BDF-H groups were significantly decreased as compared to those in the HFD group (p<0.05). BDF also improved the lipid profile in a dose-dependent manner; serum lipid profiles and levels of insulin, glucose, and free fatty acid were significantly decreased in the BDF-L and BDF-H groups, whereas HDL-C and adiponectin significantly increased as compared to the HFD group (p<0.05). Meanwhile, BDF lowered serum malondialdehyde (MDA) in comparison with the HFD group (p<0.05). The results demonstrate that the intake of BDF might prevent obesity and its related metabolic disorders by inducing dyslipidemia and oxidative stress.

  • 동영상 압축 표준인 H.264/AVC는 압축 효율을 높이기 위해 기존의 표준과는 다른 기법들을 사용함으로 압축률은 높였지만 보다 많은 계산량을 요구한다. 제한된 자원을 가진 임베디드 환경에서는 많은 계산량은 큰 문제점이 된다. DMB를 포함한 대부분의 경우는 이를 하드웨어적으로 구현을 하고 있지만 구현비용과 업데이트의 용의를 위해서 앞으로는 소프트웨어적으로도 구현이 가능해야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC가 임베디드 환경에서 소프트웨어로 구현을 할 경우 그에 대한 성능 명가를 수행하기 위해 실제 임베디드 장비에서 H.264/AVC 복호기와 임베디드 그래픽 라이브러리를 사용해서 재생기를 구현하였고 다양한 종류의 영상을 재생시키는 실험을 하였다. 이러한 실험을 통해 임베디드 상에서 H.264/AVC 재생기는 QCIF 화면을 초당 3프레임 정도를 재생시키는 능력을 보였다. 이는 사용자측면에서는 동영상이라고 느낄 수 없을 정도의 성능이었다. 그러므로 임베디드 환경에서 H.264로 압축된 영상을 사용할 경우에는 H.264의 프로파일이나 레벨 조정 및 프레임 넘김 기법이 필요 할 것으로 추정한다.

MPEG-H 3D Audio Decoder Structure and Complexity Analysis (MPEG-H 3D 오디오 표준 복호화기 구조 및 연산량 분석)

  • The primary goal of the MPEG-H 3D Audio standard is to provide immersive audio environments for high-resolution broadcasting services such as UHDTV. This standard incorporates a wide range of technologies such as encoding/decoding technology for multi-channel/object/scene-based signal, rendering technology for providing 3D audio in various playback environments, and post-processing technology. The reference software decoder of this standard is a structure combining several modules and can operate in various modes. Each module is composed of independent executable files and executed sequentially, real time decoding is impossible. In this paper, we make DLL library of the core decoder, format converter, object renderer, and binaural renderer of the standard and integrate them to enable frame-based decoding. In addition, by measuring the computation complexity of each mode of the MPEG-H 3D-Audio decoder, this paper also provides a reference for selecting the appropriate decoding mode for various hardware platforms. As a result of the computational complexity measurement, the low complexity profiles included in Korean broadcasting standard has a computation complexity of 2.8 times to 12.4 times that of the QMF synthesis operation in case of rendering as a channel signals, and it has a computation complexity of 4.1 times to 15.3 times of the QMF synthesis operation in case of rendering as a binaural signals.

  • In this paper, we assessed the subjective and objective quality of the images on low bit-rate which used the H.264 intra coding and JPEG2000. The result of our experiments shown the subjective and objective quality assessment of the intra coded image of H.264 high profile is better than JPEG2000. But, the blocking artifact is obvious because of the big difference of DCT and wavelet transform and quantization. it will be necessary to propose a new transform algorithm for the optimal quality.

  • 영상 압축 기법에는 여러 가지 알고리즘을 적용되고 있다. 이런 알고리즘들에는 주파수 영역 중복을 제거하기 위한 DCT, 시간 중복성 제거를 위한 움직임 측정, 압축기법에 의해서 만들어진 정보를 부호화하는 VLC들이 있다. 이런 부호화 알고리즘들은 부호화기를 구현하는데 많은 시간을 요구하며 특히 움직임 추정은 부호화기의 절반에 가까운 시간을 소비한다. 움직임 측정 기술의 복잡도는 search algorithm, cost function, search range parameter의 요인으로 나타낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 Full Search 알고리즘 대신에 three-step 알고리즘을 사용하여 움직임 측정 시간을 줄였다. Full Search 알고리즘은 search area에서 모든 지역에 대해 cost function을 사용하여 이전 블록과 얼마나 유사한지를 조사한다. 따라서 이전 블록과 가장 유사한 부분을 찾는 좋은 방법이지만 그만큼 시간이 많이 사용한다. Three-step 알고리즘은 search area의 일정 지역에 대해 cost function를 사용하여 이전 블록과의 유사성을 찾는 fast 알고리즘이다. Three-step 알고리즘을 사용한 경우 기존의 full search 알고리즘을 사용할 때 보다 60% 정도의 시간이 단축되었다. 그리고 생성되는 압축 데이터의 크기는 full search 알고리즘을 사용할 때 보다 많이 차지한다. 생성되는 H.263파일의 화질에서는 Three-step 알고리즘을 사용한 경우일지라도 full search 알고리즘을 사용한 경우와 거의 비슷한 화질을 보여준다.

  • 본 논문은 H.264/AVC를 이용한 근접 무손실 화면내 부호화에서 기존의 라인 기반 예측 방법에서 발생할 수 있는 오류 전파 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. H.264/AVC의 화면내 예측 부호화는 주변 블록의 복원 화소들을 현재 부호화하려는 블록의 예측값으로 사용하여 공간적 상관성을 제거하고 부호화 효율을 향상시킨다. 기존의 라인 기반 예측 방법에서는 일반적으로 화소 간 거리가 멀어질수록 화소 간 상관성이 떨어지므로 라인 단위로 예측을 수행하여 예측의 정확도를 높였다. 하지만, 이 경우 오류 전파 문제에 취약하다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 화면내 $16{\times}16$ 수직 및 수평 예측 모드에 대해 매크로블록을 라인 단위로 예측하면서 정해진 서브 블록마다 참조 화소를 업데이트하는 방법을 제안한다. 따라서, 라인 기반 예측 방법의 예측 정확도는 유지하면서 오류 전파 문제를 예방할 수 있다. 실험을 통해, 제안하는 방법이 High 프로파일에서 H.264/AVC 표준 소프트웨어 JM 12.2에 비해 평균 약 5.8%의 비트율을 감소시킬 수 있음을 보였다.
