수중 내 베타선 모니터링 센서 개발을 위한 기초연구 (Feasibility Study on Development of an Underwater Beta-ray Monitoring Sensor)

  • In this study, a beta monitoring sensor was developed as a part of basic research for quantitative beta monitoring underwater, and its performance was evaluated using a calibration source. A beta detection sensor was manufactured by using SiPM(silicon photomultiplier) and $CaF_2$:Eu, YAG:Ce, YAP:Ce scintillator. A large-area light guide was introduced to improve beta-ray detection efficiency. As calibration sources, the Beta source $^{90}Sr$, which is the main fission product of a nuclear accident, and the gamma source $^{137}Cs$ are used. In the performance evaluation, it is confirmed that scintillator $CaF_2:Eu$ gives the highest beta-ray detection response. Compared to gamma ray, beta-ray detection responsivity and detection efficiency are verified. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to basic research in the development of an underwater beta-ray monitoring system.

가정용 식품 방사능 모니터링 센서 개발 및 유용성 평가 (Development of a Foods Radioactivity Monitoring Sensor for Household and Evaluation of its Effectiveness)

  • In this study, a foods radioactivity monitoring sensor was developed as a part of basic research for household radioactivity monitoring, and its performance was evaluated using a calibration source. The prototype of the sensor was based on a CsI:Tl scintillator using a crystal light guide and Si photomultiplier. The light guide was introduced to improve gamma-ray detection efficiency. For quantitative evaluation, tests were conducted using $^{134}Cs$ liquid source. In the performance evaluation, It was confirmed that analysis of $^{134}Cs$: 100 Bq/L(kg) was possible. Thus, result of this study is expected to contribute to research in the development of the household foods radioactivity monitoring system.

  • This paper deals with the development of a shape inspection system of the Light Guide Panel(LGP), and the study for the performance of the system. The conventional contact sensing methods have been used to inspect the shape. However the contact-sensing methods have some problems. The contact between a tip of the sensor and the surface of objects make a sensor tip abraded and generate a defect on the surface of objects.   • In apartment type of housing, if resident's vehicle is registered in central control office and RFID TAG is issued, identification can be recognized from the time of entrance into parking lot and intelligent parking guide system can be activated based on the residents' profile. Parking Guide System leads a vehicle to the available parking space which is closest to the entrance gate of the vehicle's owner. And when residents forget where they parked their cars, they can query to the Parking Guide and Management System and get responses about the location. For the correct operation of this system, it is necessary to find out where the residents' cars have parked in real time and which lot is available for parking of other cars. RFID is very fancy solution for this system. RFID reader gathers the ID information in RFID TAGs in parked cars and updates the DB up to date. But, when non-residents' cars are parked inside apartment, RFID reader cannot identify them nor know the exact empty/occupied status of parking spaces because they don't react to RFID reader's query. So for the exact detection of empty/occupied status, we suggest the combined use of ultrasonic sensors and RFID. We designed a tree topology with intermediate data aggregators. The depth of tree is normally more than 3 from root (central office) to leaves (individual parking lots). The depth of 2 in tree topology brings about the bottleneck in communication and maintenance. We also designed the information fields used in RFID networks and Sensor Networks.

  • 본 연구에서는 치아 시편에 AE 센서를 직접 부착하는 방법과 웨이브 가이드(waveguide)를 사용하는 방법을 이용하여 치아에 충전된 치과용 복합레진의 광중합 수축에 따른 AE 신호를 검출하여 해석하였다. PMMA, 스테인리스 스틸, 인간 치아 시편을 사용하여 AE hit와 AE 진폭(amplitude) 거동을 비교하였다. 웨이브 가이드를 사용한 경우 전파 중에 발생하는 반사파에 의한 파형의 변형으로 진폭 및 hit 수의 감소가 나타났으나, 시편의 재질에 따른 신호의 발생빈도와 1차 중심주파수의 대역은 웨이브 가이드 사용 여부에 따라 차이가 없었다.

  • With the increasing number of high-rise and large-scale buildings, modern buildings are becoming intelligent, and are incurring high construction costs and requiring careful maintenance. Maintenance works for high-rise buildings significantly depend on human labor, unlike other construction processes that are gradually being automated. The resulting accidents may produce very high social and economic losses. To address this problem, herein, this paper proposes robotic building maintenance system using multi-robot concept, in specific, cleaning a building facade which is directly subjected to minimize human labor; that improves the process efficiency and economic feasibility. The sensor for detecting contamination of building's outer-wall glass is proposed; Kalman filter was used for estimating robots' status with the contamination of the window glass. Task allocation of the sensor based multi-robots for an effective way of task execution is introduced and the feasibility was verified through the simulations.

선재 가이드롤러 모니터링 시스템 개발 (The Development of Monitoring System for Guide Roller in Wire Rolling Process)

  • In order to cope with the occurrence of abnormal operation, rotatory condition monitoring system for guide roller of finishing train in wire rolling has been developed. In this study, proximity sensor and its holding devices that could overcome severe in-situ measurement conditions was designed and MMI software using C++ was programmed. Performance of the developed system turned out to be good enough as results of in-line test for POSCO #3 wire rolling mill. It is expected to contribute to prevent the cobble and the grade-down of products caused by the abnornormal operation of guide rollers.

가진입력에 의한 손떨림 보정용 이송장치의 둔화현상 방지대책 (A Method to Prevent Transfer Device of Image Stabilizer from Blunting by Artificial Vibration)

  • This article deals with an optical image stabilizer which moves an image sensor in the direction of cancelling the vibration caused by hand shaking to prevent a photographed image from blurring. The ball-guide way method adopted as a transfer device of the image sensor is easy to be manufactured because of its simple structure and is suitable to minimize the friction between mechanisms, but has weakness of a chance of physical defect such as groove and rising. In case that the movement of the transfer device equipped with the image sensor is blunted because a ball is stuck in defects of guide way, the performance of the image stabilizer falls down drastically. We propose a method to prevent the transfer device from blunting by applying artificial vibration. At this time, the artificial vibration should be designed under consideration of dynamic characteristics and specifications of the system to be discriminated from the vibration caused by hand shaking.

  • Nowadays, the most of commercial buildings are build-out with complex architecture and decorated with more complicated interiors of buildings so establishing intelligible escape routes becomes an important case of fire or other emergency in a limited time. The commercial buildings are already equipped with multiple exit signs and these exit signs may create confusion and leads the people into different directions under emergency. This can jeopardize the emergency situation into a chaotic state, especially in a complex layout buildings. There are many research focused on implementing different approached to improve the exit sign system with better visual navigating effects, such as the use of laser beams, the combination of audio and video cues, etc. However the digital signage system based emergency exit sign management is one of the best solution to guide people under emergency situations to escape. This research paper, propose an intelligent evacuation route GUIDE that uses the combination centralized Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and digital signage for people safety and avoids dangers from emergency conditions. This proposed system applies WSN to detect the environment condition in the building and uses an evacuation algorithm to estimate the safe route to escape using the sensor information and then activates the signage system to display the safe evacuation route instruction GUIDE according to the location the signage system is installed. This paper presented the prototype of the proposed signage system and execution time to find the route with future research directions. The proposed system provides a natural intelligent evacuation route interface for self or remote operation in facility management to efficiently GUIDE people to the safe exit under emergency conditions.

길안내를 위한 네트워크 기반 로봇 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Network-based Robot System to Guide a way)

  • 로봇에 대한 연구는 21세기에 접어들면서 단순한 반복패턴의 산업용 로봇에서 벗어나 인간에게 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 지능형 서비스 로봇에 관한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 그 중에서도 지능형 서비스 로봇에 네트워크를 연결한 URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion) 로봇에 관한 연구에 집중을 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 길안내를 위한 네트워크 기반의 로봇 시스템을 제안한다. 길안내 로봇은 LEGO 브릭을 이용해 제작하고 외부 환경 인식을 위해 초음파 센서, 로테이션 센서, RFID 태그를 사용한다. 또한, 서버와의 데이터 전송 및 처리를 위해 PDA를 장착한다. 네트워크 서버는 처리정보를 블루투스 통신을 통해 로봇 컨트롤러로 전달하여 로봇의 경로이동 및 회피를 제어한다. 본 연구에서 제시한 길안내를 위한 네트워크 기반 로봇 시스템은 네트워크 연결을 통해 서버에서 프로세싱 기능을 분담처리 함으로써 기존의 지능형 로봇의 기술적인 제약을 해결하였고, 실시간 처리가 가능하며 서비스의 확장성이 유용하다. 또한 저가의 센서 장비를 통해 충분한 데이터 수집이 가능함에 따라 로봇 제작의 고비용 문제를 해결하였다.
