In this paper, we suggested a mobile collaboration framework for supporting mobile services among mobile devices, and designed and implemented on this environment. The suggested framework has three elements; groups of sensors and mobile devices(Fixed and Moving-typed PDAs) and a home server. We designed interfaces for interactions with each other in collaboration environment with three elements described above. The information collected by sensors can be share and exchanged by mobile devices or a home server in accordance with Push and Pull methods. This framework is based on the distributed object group framework(DOGF) we implemented before. Therefore the DOGF provides functions of object group management, storing information and security services to our mobile collaboration framework via application interfaces defined. The information collected by sensors is arranged according to user's security 'demands. And user profile information is used for checking authority of each service object. Each component for executing functions of mobile devices and a home server is implemented by TMO scheme. And we used the TMOSM for interactions between distributed components. Finally, we showed via GUI the executablity of a given healthcare application scenario on our mobile collaboration framework.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of role assignment in a group on collaboration in a mid- dle school science class to which Collaborative Problem Solving for Character Competency (CoProC) model was applied. For this purpose, 4 classes in the second year of a middle school located in a small and medium-sized city were selected, two classes among these were assigned roles, and the other classes were not. The science class with 4 topics using CoProC model was carried out. As a result of the study, in middle school science class to which CoProC was applied, it was effective in increasing the collaboration. As a result of analyzing the discussion process using the analysis framework for collaboration developed in this study, the group without role assignment was statistically significantly higher than the group with role assignment in the total score and the four sub-factors, especially in 'partnership building' and 'consensus building' which is a high level of collaboration.
The purpose of this study is to examine a theoretical framework for the interactions of learning in a small group setting of mathematical problem solving. Many researchers already have described the theoretical background for the small group settings in problem solving. However, most of the literatures merely have reported findings of achievement and rising of test scores. They ignored the observation of process taken during the small group work and have not determined how various psychological, social and academic effects are created. As results of the study, two types, mutual collaboration and asymmetric collaboration, of interactions are observed as the interactions of learning, which are conceived as the cores of authentic mathematical activities.
In recent years, peer-to-peer network have a greate deal of attention for distributed computing or collaborative application, and work of ID-based public key systems have been focusing on the area of cryptography. In this paper, we propose ID-based group key management protocols for secure communication in autonomous peer group. Each member obtains his public/private key pair derived from his identification string from Private Key Generator. No central server participates in group key management protocol instead, all group members share the burden of group key management by the collaboration of themselves, so that our scheme avoids the single point of failure problem. In addition, our scheme considers the nature of dynamic peer group such as frequent joining and leaving of a member.
This study aimed to investigate the performance on technology collaboration of small and medium enterprises in Korea from the views of resource-based theory. Considering that supplementing the technical resources is stressed in a motivation of technology collaboration from the corresponding theoretical perspective, a group of corporations to be analyzed was classified into three categories such as high, medium and low technologies depending on the technology level. Moreover, technology collaboration partners were also classified into large corporation, small and medium enterprises, university and institution based on that both tangible and intangible assets that belong to a corporation semi-permanently, and the revolutionary performance was analyzed by each relationship of collaboration between parties. The study results revealed that an influence on the performance of technology collaboration varies by technology level of the small and medium enterprises in Korea and their collaboration partners. In particular, the small and medium enterprises of high-tech industry in Korea were confirmed to accomplish relatively less benefits obtaining through technology collaboration compared to the corporations with low technical skills.
Supporting individual or group learners through designing effective learning environment has been major concern for instructional technologists. In CSCL environment, the effectiveness of learning depends not only on the design of the learning incidences but also on that of psychological environment because in CSCL the learners encounter virtually a new environment deviate from the ordinary physical world. CSCL is one of the most demanding environment for learners and thus it requires a highly refined learner support mechanisms. The purpose of the research was to devise conceptual tools for supporting learners in CSCL environment. Especially, the researchers tried to develop special kinds of scaffolding that directly support the collaborative practice in the social and psychological dimension of the learner. Body of literature on scaffolding has been reviewed and effective CSCL environments were observed and analyzed. As a result of the study, the research proposes a new type of scaffolding, named as "collaboration scaffolding" as a conceptual tool for supporting learners in CSCL environment. Also the research suggests three subtypes of scaffolds as the most typical collaboration scaffolding; emotional scaffolds, facilitative scaffolds, and exploratory scaffolds.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of Critical Thinking Strategy supporting argumentation activities between learners. The research question is whether the form of Critical Thinking Strategy offered to support meaningful interaction of collaborative argumentation between learners influences the knowledge acquisition, learning outcome, and student satisfaction. For this, the collaboration outcome of the group, the level of individual knowledge acquisition, the level of students satisfaction were measured as outcome of argumentation activity and their differences analyzed. This study concludes the following: A comparison of the group that was provided with Critical Thinking Strategy (test group) and the group provided with general argumentation scaffolds (compared group) showed there wasn't statistically significant differences in the quality of the learning outcome of collaboration between the groups and in students satisfaction. But there was significant difference in the degree of individual acquisition depending on the offering of scaffolding for Critical Thinking. Therefore, as premised in this study, supporting meaningful mutual interaction between learners during collaborative argumentation using Critical Thinking Strategy has a positive influence on the individual acquisition of domain knowledge. The group provided with scaffolding for Critical Thinking gained higher effect in the degree of knowledge sharing and individual acquisition of domain knowledge compared to the group provided with general argumentation scaffolding.
After COVID-19, team's collaborations are conducted online using whiteboard tools as remote working increases. In order to understand the problems of the convergence process using online whiteboard tools, an observation study comparing online and offline collaboration and a focus group interview were conducted. In addition, a questionnaire was conducted to confirm the found problem, and a solution idea was proposed. through in-depth interviews, we validate the proposed ideas. The convergence process of collaboration using online whiteboard tools had problems ; "excessive amount of information", "shift of view", "role of facilitator". To solve the problems, we proposed the idea of classifying each stage of the collaboration process, providing a navigator, and facilitator request system window. This paper proposed an idea that can effectively help the convergence process directly related to decision-making during the online collaboration process through analysis of advantages and problems of online and offline collaboration.

Team-based programming methods are widely applied to solve various difficulties that pre-service teachers experience in the programming lessons. To prepare effective collaboration strategies necessary for them, it is necessary to analyze various collaborative factors that affect learners' programming competencies. Therefore, in this article, a questionnaire survey was conducted by dividing learners' collaboration factors into individual and team competencies, and the relationship between learners' programming competencies was analyzed. As a result of the verification, the program design competency showed significant results in all elements of the learner's personal competency, team techniques such as data sharing skills necessary for collaboration, and team collaboration. It was analyzed that an individual's understanding of learning and team collaboration influenced the program implementation competency. In addition, the group with relatively high team technique showed significant differences in programming competence, interest, and satisfaction. Accordingly, by linking meaningful factors related to individual and team competencies according to the programming process, a collaborative strategy practically necessary for pre-service teachers was suggested.
