Purpose: The purposes of this study were to understand the coping experience that family caregivers undergo during the process of care, to grasp coping behaviors used to solve problems and, finally, to develop a substantive theory by analyzing the coping process. Method: The methodology of collecting and analyzing data used in this study followed the ground theory. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with open-ended and descriptive questions about the subjects' coping experiences. The survey was conducted between May 2006 and August. The subjects of this study were 10 women. Result: The result of the study is as follows. Core category of This Study was "Self-Sacrifice". And The coping process of family caregivers while taking care of the industrial disaster victim was found to have five stages: shocked stage; undertaking stage of new role; skilled stage; exhausted stage; and desiderating stage. Seven coping behaviors were found to reduce the stress of role and anguish resulting from care. Conclusion: The result of this study is helpful for developing effective industrial nursing strategies suitable for each coping stage. It is necessary to practice nursing mediation and to analyze the change about nursing effect and family caregivers' adaptation.
The purpose of this study was to explain the process of meaning construction on children's happiness by mothers with young children. The study participants were 16 mothers with young children. The data were collected through the interviews which were conducted during 10 months from March, 2013 to December, 2013. The Data were analyzed according to a grounded theory methodology. The process of meaning construction on children's happiness by mothers included 4 stages, which are as follows. 'Following inseparated social desire and demands', 'Looking around my desire and children's happiness', 'Rearranging interlacing desire' and 'Going to find my children's happiness and my happiness'. And the stages were interacting mothers'time perspectives and diverse ecosystems. Based on the results, the study discussed the characters of interaction on time perspectives and parenting, and discussed influences of meaning construction on happiness.
This study focuses on systematic structure of factors, which affect commercialization of ocean science and technology (OST), applying both grounded theory methodology (GTM) and semantic network analysis methodology (SNAM) by using in-depth interviews with 8 specialists previously experienced in the same field. This study further focuses on clarification of the distinctiveness and universality of commercialization factors on OST by comparatively analyzing on the commercialization factors of general sciences and technologies. Using SNAM, it was determined that commercialization success required connected support system, government support, technology marketing, technology power and characteristics of commercialized entities, which were identified as dominant factors. GTM presented an outcome that connected support systems among participants in commercialization and found that research institute strategies are significant factors in the core phenomenon of commercialization, while technology marketing, technology power and market-oriented technology are important conditions. In addition, the factors of technology, market, connection of participants and government support of commercialized entities are shown as equally important factors for commercialization of ocean science and technology. Secondly, SNAM results indicate that ocean science characteristics depend on a network of government support, research institute strategy, organization and manpower, capital power, and technology marketing, as these ocean science characteristics have been identified as significant factors in the GTM study. It has been determined that technology, market and government support should be connected in order for commercialization of ocean science and technology (OST). Moreover, commercialization methods, applied to the marketing of commercialization of ocean science and technology is differentiated from others since commercialization success is more relevant to these factors.

Ontological knowledge modelling of epic texts, though being an established research arena backed by concrete multilingual and multicultural works, still suffers from two key shortcomings. Firstly, all epic ontological models developed till date have been designed following ad-hoc methodologies, most often combining existing general purpose ontology development methodologies. Secondly, none of the ad-hoc methodologies consider the potential reuse of existing epic ontological models for enrichment, if available. This paper presents, as a unified solution to the above shortcomings, the design and development of GOMME - the first dedicated methodology for iterative ontological modelling of epics, potentially extensible to works in different research arenas of digital humanities in general. GOMME is grounded in transdisciplinary foundations of canonical norms for epics, knowledge modelling best practices, application satisfiability norms, and cognitive generative questions. It is also the first methodology (in epic modelling but also in general) to be flexible enough to integrate, in practice, the options of knowledge modelling via reuse or from scratch. The feasibility of GOMME is validated via a first brief implementation of ontological modelling of the Indian epic Mahabharata by reusing an existing ontology. The preliminary results are promising, with the GOMME-produced model being both ontologically thorough and competent performance-wise.
Qualitative research methodology has been applied with increasing frequency in various fields, including in healthcare research, where quantitative research methodology has traditionally dominated, with an empirically driven approach involving statistical analysis. Drawing upon artifacts and verbal data collected from in-depth interviews or participatory observations, qualitative research examines the comprehensive experiences of research participants who have experienced salient yet unappreciated phenomena. In this study, we review 6 representative qualitative research methodologies in terms of their characteristics and analysis methods: consensual qualitative research, phenomenological research, qualitative case study, grounded theory, photovoice, and content analysis. We mainly focus on specific aspects of data analysis and the description of results, while also providing a brief overview of each methodology's philosophical background. Furthermore, since quantitative researchers have criticized qualitative research methodology for its perceived lack of validity, we examine various validation methods of qualitative research. This review article intends to assist researchers in employing an ideal qualitative research methodology and in reviewing and evaluating qualitative research with proper standards and criteria.

Despite the growing enthusiasm for the persuasive system like an interactive mirror system little is known about what motivates the customers to try the system and makes customers return repeatedly to the system. The key to understanding persuasive system adoption is the identification of the preconditions needed for the system adoption. Using grounded theory building methodology, we identified the preconditions needed for the system adoption. First, past research regarding users' motivational factors to use the persuasive system is reviewed. Then, research methodology and data analysis are presented. Finally, the study findings and conclusions are presented.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the re-employment process of inactivated nurses returning to the nursing field and to develop a grounded theory about their re-employment experiences. Methods: Data was collected through a face-to-face interview and telephone interviews from 10 nurses. The ground theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin (1998) was used for theoretical sampling in accordance with their unemployment period and reason for leaving prior to reemployment; whereas works of data collection and analysis were performed concurrently. Results: The core category was discovered to be 'identifying a career path by striking a balance between the practical and the ideal'. This series of processes was categorized into five stages: 'trying to get a job again', 'tolerating difficulties as a beginner', 'trying their best to remain a nurse', 'trying to get another job', and 'staying in the profession till the end'. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest an understanding and profound insight on the issue of a nursing shortage.
This paper aims to explore the analysis of the meanings and processes of reading online consumer reviews and to construct a substantive theory that explains the process involved with the phenomenon of reading consumer reviews. In order to explore the phenomenon, this study employs a qualitative methodology. Following the grounded theory perspective, the researcher conducted interviews with 17 participants, who have subsequently shopped online and utilized online consumer reviews for shopping, and decidedly employed in-depth interviews with those participants. Through coding and making constant comparison, several themes emerged: improving confidence, trusting reviews, getting a sense of who reviewers are, seeking balance, processing and handling negative reviews, experiencing vicariously, increasing searchability, getting a sense of who they are in terms of similarity, and seeking benefits and the usage situations from consumer based reviews. Among the emerging themes, improving confidence can be considered a core category, which is influenced by the analysis of trusting reviews and the consumer vicarious experiences with a product. Moreover, this study discusses the relationships among the themes. This study concludes with a discussion of the results, implications, and limitations.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the coping process of chief Executive Nurses(CENs) Who Had Experienced Unexpected Dismissal. The research question was "would you tell me about your experience of sudden dismissal?" Method: The methodology of collecting and analyzing data used in this study followed the ground theory of Strauss and Corbin (1998). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with open-ended questions about the subjects' coping experiences, which were audio-taped and transcribed. The survey was conducted between April and May, 2007. The subjects of this study were 5 CENs. Result: The results of the study are as follows. Core category of This Study was "Battling unsupported against the overwhelming reality." The participants had to face the most unexpected reality of being laid off. Their emotional/psychological response were betrayal, powerlessness, lonesomeness, sorrow, and hopelessness. They felt like a general who is facing overwhelming enemy in a war. The coping process was found to have four stages: shocked stage, resisting stage, negotiating stage and reflecting and transcending stage. Conclusion: The result of this study suggested that ceaseless exertion and cooperation at organizational and individual levels are needed to establish stable status and power of nursing departments and CENs in hospitals.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to understand the types of coping strategies that family caregivers experience during the process of caring demented elderly: to grasp the coping strategies used for resolving this problem: and to develop a substantive theory by analyzing the coping types of the family caregivers of demented elderly. Method: The methodology of data collection and analysis used in this study was grounded theory proposed by Strauss and Corbin (1990). The data was collected through in-depth interviews with participants using open-ended and descriptive questions about their coping experiences. All data were were audio-taped and transcribed. The data were collected from February, 2000 to February, 2001. The participants of this study were 17 women. Results: Caregiver's coping types varied according to 'family's support', 'the condition of caregiver's health', 'the relationship with dementia elderly', 'family perception of dementia', 'fixed idea of traditional female role' and 'economic state'. In this study, five types of coping strategies were emerged: active role allotment tyle, meaning grant tyle, devotion tyle, duty defense type, and pessimism type. Among these, those who belong to the types of active role allotment, meaning grant, and devotion, including caregiver's good health were found to adapt themselves to caregiver roles. Conclusion: The results of this study may be helpful for developing effective and individualized nursing strategies suitable for individual caregivers coping types. It is suggested to practice nursing mediation and to analyze the changes in nursing effect and family members' adaptation based on coping types of the well-adapted caregivers as we as on their affirmative coping strategy.
