The monitoring efficiency of the aircraft noise monitoring stations is decided to the reference noise level and the infringement of each monitoring stations. We are calculate the monitoring efficiency of three noise monitoring stations among twelve in the vicinity of Gimpo Int'l Airport. As a result, the monitoring efficiency shows that the noise monitoring stations #3,#5 and #6 are 14.3%, 18.5% and 29.3% respectively, #6 which is underneath the flight track is higher efficiency than another two stations.
A strategy for geostationary orbit (or geostationary earth orbit [GEO]) surveillance based on optical angular observations is presented in this study. For the dynamic model, precise analytical orbit model developed by Lee et al. (1997) is used to improve computation performance and the unscented Kalman filer (UKF) is applied as a real-time filtering method. The UKF is known to perform well under highly nonlinear conditions such as surveillance in this study. The strategy that combines the analytical orbit propagation model and the UKF is tested for various conditions like different level of initial error and different level of measurement noise. The dependencies on observation interval and number of ground station are also tested. The test results shows that the GEO orbit determination based on the UKF and the analytical orbit model can be applied to GEO orbit tracking and surveillance effectively.

Signals from the Global Positioning System(GPS) satellite are used to retrieve the integrated amount of water vapor or the precipitable water vapor(PWV) along the path between a transmitting satellite and ground-based receiver. In order to retrieve the PWV from GPS signal delay in the troposphere, the actual zenith wet delay, which can be derived by extracting the zenith total delay and subtracting the actual zenith hydrostatic delay computed using surface pressure observing, will be needed. Since it has been not co-located between GPS permanent station and automated weather station, the air-pressure on the mean sea level has been used to determine the actual zenith hydrostatic delay. The directly use of this air-pressure has been caused the dilution of precision on GPS PWV retrieval. In this study, Korean reverse sea level correction method of air-pressure was suggested for the improving of GPS PWV retrieval capability and the accuracy of water vapor estimated by GPS was evaluated through a comparison with radiosonde PWV.
To alter the paddy field to upland, mole drainages were constructed under 30cm of the surface of(Jeon buk silt loam) which is not appropriate for cultivation of upland crops. Intervals of the moles were 50cm, 100cm and 150cm and diverted to upland for soybean cultivation. By construction of the mole drainage, about 75% to 45% of the rainfall was drained and the ground water level was maintained below 40cm. After a year of drainage, the blocky surface was changed to granular or nutty structure which is common in upland fields. Oxidation was progressed to the deep layer because of soil dryness. Soybean yield were increased by 11% to 22% in the mole drained plots, but wet injury was occurred in the nontreated check plot with relatively poor growth status.

Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is a satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) that provides approach procedure with vertical guidance-I (APV-I) level corrections and integrity information to Korea territory. KASS is used to monitor navigation performance in real-time, and this paper introduces the design, implementation, and verification process of mission monitoring (MIMO) in KASS. MIMO was developed in compliance with the Minimum Operational Performance Standards of the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics for Global Positioning System (GPS)/SBAS airborne equipment. In this study, the MIMO system was verified by comparing and analyzing the outputs of reference tools. Additionally, the definition and derivation method of accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability subject to MIMO were examined. The internal and external interfaces and functions were then designed and implemented. The GPS data pre-processing was minimized during the implementation to evaluate the navigation performance experienced by general users. Subsequently, tests and verification methods were used to compare the obtained results based on reference tools. The test was performed using the KASS dataset, which included GPS and SBAS observations. The decoding performance of the developed MIMO was identical to that of the reference tools. Additionally, the navigation performance was verified by confirming the similarity in trends. As MIMO is a component of KASS used for real-time monitoring of the navigation performance of SBAS, the KASS operator can identify whether an abnormality exists in the navigation performance in real-time. Moreover, the preliminary identification of the abnormal point during the post-processing of data can improve operational efficiency.

This paper presents a case study on the excavation of a long tunnel(16.2km) named as "Sol-An tunnel", which connects between Mt. Dongbaek station and Dokye station in the Young-dong Railroad. This site is located in a complex geological region with faults, cavities and coal measures as sedimentary rocks area. It occurred geotechnical problems unexpectedly by running water when tunnelling in limestone area within those geological structures. This tunnel caused surface settlements through the decrease of ground water level and soil washed-out affecting by cavities and faults within limestone formation. This paper presents a analysis of source through a close investigation and measures. And also, does preventive measures about returns of settlements reflected by properties of limestones.

A ground station has been established at Kosan, Cheju Island, since January of 1992 for the monitoring of background air Pollutant levels in Korea. Anthropogenic pollutant sources and meteorological conditions of Kosan were surveyed. Concentrations of SO$_2$, NO, NO$_{y}$ and $O_3$, were measured and analyzed for the period of February through December, 1992. The annual means of NO and SO$_2$, levels were very low in comparison to other urban's levels and similiar to other country's background levels. The annual mean of $O_3$, level was higher than urban's but comparable to other coastal region's. The NO concentration showed a distinct seasonal and diurnal variations. Summer peak was detected in the monthly means of NO and smooth peak around noon was found in the annual means of hourly data. Diurnal variation of the SO$_2$ concentration was barely detected but a slice increase in winter was detected. The $O_3$, concentration data, however, showed seasonal and diurnal variations similar to the urban's.an's.

In this study, the operation method and accuracy of Terrestrial Laser Scanner(TLS) are reviewed and discussed by experimental measurements, and guidelines of TLS surveying operation are proposed. Ground control points and TLS station points were measured by TS and/or GPS, in TLS observation experiments, and wood targets were used which designed by this study team. RMSE accuracy of TLS scan shows that TLS surveying operation can be used in the topographic mapping of 1/250 scale and level of 1/100 BIM, the drone data also used in TLS data completeness. Additionally, as the results of the field experiment, the guidelines for TLS surveying operartions were proposed.
Effect of soil moisture level on the growth of ginger plant was investigated through a pot experiment. The soil used for this study was collected from a newly reclaimed hillside land. The soil was a silty clay loam(19% sand, 57% of silt and 24% of clay), acidic in soil rection(pH 4.7, in $H_2O$) and low in organic matter content(1.2%). Soil moisture levels selected for the experiment were 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30% on weight basis. Under the soil moisture of 20-25%, the emergence ratio was 80-100%, 25 days alter planting. The performance of above ground parts was best under 20-25% of soil moisture. When the soil moisture content was far from 25%, high or low, the die out of above ground parts of ginger tended to increase. Under 20-25% of soil moisture the growth of roots was best and the occurrence of root rot was minimal.

This study selected five observational stations in the normal direction of Jinu-do(island) shoreline and observed water temperature, electrical conductivity and pressure from March, 2012 to January, 2013(about 11 months) and attempted to see the variation characteristics of ground watertable. This study wants to know : 1) External environment force factors(tide, climate, wave etc.) affecting ground watertable variation through time series and correlation analysis. 2) Spatial variations of ground watertable and electrical conductivity change by storm event. First, we found that the station at the intertidal zone was strongly affected by wave and tide level and the stations at sand dune and vegetation zone was affected by precipitation and tide level through time series data and correlation analysis. Second, during the storm event, we found that ground watertable and electrical conductivity are stabilized at the start line of sand dune and vegetation zone and transition zone between freshwater layer and seawater layer exists in the experiment area and is about 50~70 m from coastline of the south side of Jinu-do(island).
