This paper proposes an active damping control method for a grid-side converter that has an LCL grid filter in the back-to-back converter. To remove the resonant frequency components produced by the LCL filter, it is necessary to measure the grid current. To do this, sensors must be added. However, it is not necessary to add sensors because the grid current is estimated by designing a suboptimal observer. In order to remove the nonlinearity and to gain fast response of control, both feedback linearization and sliding mode control are applied. The proposed method is verified through a simulation.
Because moire artifacts overlap with fine lesions and frequency bands, image processing software that removes moire artifacts can lead to loss of micro lesions. In this study, microscopic lesions such as microcalcification and microfracture were randomly formed on SD (Sprague Dawley) rats and image and optimized grid images were compared and analyzed using reference image and grid suppression software. The images were read by two consecutive radiologists using a McNemar's test. Among the 73 microcalcifications, in the 13 cases after grid suppression, the image of the optimized grid shows the loss of image in 3 cases, and the image after grid suppression shows statistically significant image loss (p=0.021). In all 53 fracture lines, there were 19 cases of image loss after the grid suppression, and only one case of the optimized grid showed no image loss. Therefore, the use of grid suppression software to remove moire artifacts should be carefully considered in the diagnosis of micro lesions.

In order to obtain more clear x-ray images, an antiscatter grid, which can absorb the scattered rays, is employed. In the high-resolution direct digital radiography, however, the artifacts due to the grid are visible. In this paper, within the methods of obtaining x-ray digital images by employing the rotated grids for the facility of grid artifact reduction, the previous work, where the frequencies of the artifact components on the boundary, is further analyzed and extended, and a min-max optimization for a given grid density is proposed. For practical grid densities, appropriate grid angles are provided and a grid artifact reduction algorithm is proposed for the appropriate grid angles. The proposed algorithm is tested for real x-ray digital images with a comparison, and can remove the grid artifacts while maintaining the resolution of the original image.
Recently, Ball Grid Arrays(BGAs) are getting used more frequently for a package type. The connectors on a BGA consist of a large number of small solder balls in a grid shape on its bottom side. However, since balls of BGAs mounted on PCBs are not visible, inspection before mounting them is indispensable. High speed non-contact 3D measurement technologies are necessary far real-time measurement of ball height, the most important inspection item. In this paper, an accurate 3D data acquisition system for BGAs is proposed that can acquire 3D profile at high speed using a 3D smart camera and laser slit ray projection. Some clipping and morphological filtering operations are employed to remove spiky error data, which occur due to reflections from some ball area to camera direction.
High-performance Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs) are critical for grid synchronization in grid-tied power electronic applications. In this paper, a new single-phase All Digital Phase-Locked Loop (ADPLL) is proposed. It features fast transient response and good robustness under distorted grid conditions. It is designed for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation. As a result, a high sampling frequency of 1MHz can be obtained. In addition, a new OSG is adopted to track the power frequency, improve the harmonic rejection and remove the dc offset. Unlike previous methods, it avoids extra feedback loop, which results in an enlarged system bandwidth, enhanced stability and improved dynamic performance. In this case, a new parameter optimization method with consideration of loop delay is employed to achieve a fast dynamic response and guarantee accuracy. The Phase Detector (PD) and Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) are realized by a Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) algorithm and a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) block, respectively. The whole PLL system is finally produced on a FPGA. A theoretical analysis and experiments under various distorted grid conditions, including voltage sag, phase jump, frequency step, harmonics distortion, dc offset and combined disturbances, are also presented to verify the fast dynamic response and good robustness of the ADPLL.
Morphological information such as shape and margin of micro lesion is important information for diagnosis of disease in clinical imaging. In this study, we investigated the morphological changes of the micro lesions by comparing the contrast and area in grid suppressed DR images according to grid frequency. In the profile analysis of the image, the mass showed an average intensity variation of 8.6 ~ 72.4 after suppression, The higher the grid frequency, the more the contrast was increased. However, in the images obtained using 103 lp / inch, which is a grid frequency less than the sampling frequency, the contrast of the mass in the vertical direction decreased after suppression. In the binary image, the area change of the mass was also large. As a result, the shape, size, and margin of the mass changed. In the case of very small calcification, the higher the grid frequency is the larger the change in contrast, so that a clear image can be obtained in the post-suppression image. However, we could confirm that the margin of the lesion was blurred and the lesion was lost in some of the images using the 103 lp / inch grid. The higher the frequency of the grid, The change of the contrast of fiber occurred largely and clear boundary was confirmed. The decrease of the number of pixels was small and morphological change was small. In conclusion, when using a grid frequency that is not suitable for the sample frequency, morphological changes or lesion loss of micro lesions in the post- suppression image may give the possibility of misdiagnosis in diagnosis and differentiation of the image.
Grid-connected inverter is required to cut off the power supplied to the grid at the islanding condition, immediately. For this reason, an islanding detection is an indispensable function for grid-connected distributed generation system. Slip-Mode frequency Shift (SMS) islanding detection method is very popular method to determine the grid state. SMS method supplies the reactive power to the load according to the grid frequency. In the islanding condition of grid, this injected reactive power pulls out the grid frequency from the allowable range, then the inverter system can detect the islanding condition of the grid. The SMS method can detect the islanding state well and does not generate any harmonics of the grid current. However, the reactive power would be generated and the power quality is reduced even though the grid is not islanding condition, but normal condition. In this paper, a modified SMS method is proposed to remove the reactive power in the normal condition. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by 600W single phase inverter experimental results.

This paper deals with the geoid modelling in and around Korean peninsula referred to Bessel ellipsoid. Several useful data were used to compute precise geoidal heights referred to GRS80 by remove and restore technique and FFT technique was used to evaluate Stokes' integral. All grid point elevations extracted from GTOPO 30 and Bessel coordinates of all grid point were computed through coordinates transformation by applying three transformation parameters. Finally, geoidal heights referred to Bessel ellipsoid were calculated by geometric method. As the results of this study, a precise gravimetric geoid model referred to GRS80 (KOGGDM33) and geoid model referred to Bessel ellipsoid(KOBGDM33) in and around Korean peninsula were developed. KOBGDM33 shows the gradual distribution of geoidal heights from -91.8 m in Yongampo to -39.0 m in the straits of Korea.

In order to obtain more clear x-ray images, an antiscatter grid, which can absorb the scattered rays, is employed. The artifacts due to the grid pattern are, however, visible, and thus should be removed by employing digital filters. For over exposed x-ray images, the strength of the grid artifacts are too big to be removed if fixed-bandwidth filters are employed. In this paper, for an efficient grid artifact reduction, we analyze the characteristics of the image formation and image saturation as the x-ray exposure increases. We can notice that, as the saturation begins to occur, the maximum of the artifact component decreases contrary to increasing exposure amount. We propose then an adaptive filtering algorithm for reduction of the grid artifacts, where the significant-signal bandwidth of the artifact component is used to choose appropriate filter bandwidths. The proposed algorithm is tested for real x-ray digital images, and can efficiently remove the grid artifacts.

The scattered radiation always occurs when X-ray strikes the object. To absorb the scattered X-rays, the antiscatter grids are used, however these grids images are superimposed in the projection radiography images. When those images are displayed on the monitor, moir$\acute{e}$ patterns are overlapped over the images and disturb the anatomical informations. Most of the researches performed to date removed the grid noises by calculating or observing those frequencies in one dimensional frequency domain, two dimensional wavelet transform or Fourier transform. Those methods filtered not only the grid noises but also diagnostic informations. In this paper, we proposed the combined wavelet packet-Fourier method to remove the grid artifact in CR images. For the phantom image, the proposed method achieved from 5.2 to 7.4 dB better than others in SNR and for CR images by rejecting the grid noise bands effectively while leaving the remaining bands unchanged, the loss of images could get minimal results.
