고정 파이프라인에서 분사된 액체 이산화탄소 용해특성 연구 (Study on the Dissolution Characteristics of Liquid $CO_2$ Released by Fixed Pipeline)

  • The use of fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gases around the world causes an increase of the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere. In order to reduce the concentration of the greenhouse gas, the idea of carbon dioxide sequestration in the ocean is proposed to be an effective mitigation strategy to counteract potential global warming due to the greenhouse effect. Therefore, in the present study, calculations of the dissolution behavior of carbon dioxide when liquid carbon dioxide is released at 1,000m and 1,500m in depth by fixed pipeline are performed. The results show that carbon dioxide droplets change to carbon dioxide bubbles in gas phase around 500m in depth, and the droplets are completely dissolved below 500 m in depth if the liquide carbon dioxide is released both at 1,000 m in depth with the initial diameter of 0.007m or less and at 1,500m in depth with the diameter of 0.011m or less.

  • In our country, which imports 97% of the energy consumed, an energy saving policy is required. The price inflation of utility bills is caused by a steep rise in the prices of imported oil. This study aims to solve the difficulties that cause poor environmental conditions for workers in the energy services sector, and especially, to systematize energy consumption reports to manage energy goals by suggesting an example of written energy-saving reports. To this end, this research focuses on energy consumption of target facilities including office spaces in a main building and multi-use facilities of an office building. A system where all employees can participate is structured through the analysis of energy usage in the target buildings.

  • Transportations are representative sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. Advanced countries (especially, EU and Japan etc.) have performed several efforts to decrease GHG released from railroad. In this study, we investigated the reduction methods of GHG in railroad industry. The GHG emissions in railroad are mainly caused by the energy consumption during operation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop technologies for the increase of energy efficiency and the application of clean energy such as solar and wind energy instead of diesel. From these studies, we can establish various strategies to reduce GHG efficiently in Korean railroad.

  • Recently, the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) is the most important international issue. In order to control efficiently GHG emissions and reduction, it is essential to establish GHG inventory preferentially. The aim of this study was to establish the GHG inventory of Korean railroad. The GHG sources were divided into direct and indirect emissions. The GHG released from the operation of rolling stocks was classified according to operating line and the kind of car. Finally, the GHG emission of Korean railroad can be managed systematically using this GHG inventory.

  • Environmental problems caused by air pollution have been considered as serious critical issues in global perspectives. Controlling greenhouse gases has become one of the major environmental problems in construction fields as well. However, similar studies were mainly focused on suggestion of various methodologies for measuring CO2 emissions of construction equipment and calculating emissions. This study aims to analyze the correlation between the CO2 emissions and RPMs of equipment by the construction process based on row data collected from construction equipment actually operated in job sites. This study allows site personnels to determine the amount of emitted CO2 under particular construction equipment under specific conditions during the targeted construction operations. The research findings expect to be used as fundamental informations for establishing environment-friendly construction operation planning.

  • 지속적으로 강화되고 있는 국제 환경규제로, 해운사들은 선박의 온실가스 배출량을 줄이기 위한 노력을 해야 하는 상황에 직면해 있다. 본 연구에서는 총 온실가스 배출량에 대한 제약이 있는 상황에서 복수개의 항로를 운영하는 해운사에서 일 평균 선박 운영비용의 총합을 최소화하는 항로별 최적 선박대수와 운항속도를 결정하는 문제를 다룬다. 이 문제를 풀기위해 라그랑지안 휴리스틱 알고리즘을 개발하고 라그랑지안 쌍대문제를 풀어 최적해에 대한 하한값을 구한다. 제시한 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위해 비용인자들의 값을 달리하면서 랜덤하게 테스트 문제들을 생성하였으며, 실험결과 제시한 알고리즘이 짧은 시간에 최적해에 매우 근접한 좋은 해를 찾음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 현재 국내에서 다량 사용되는 중금속 크롬과 납이 포함된 녹색안료를 대체하기 위해 유동층화학기상증착(FB-CVD) 공정을 이용한 환경친화적 무독성 유 무기 복합 녹색안료의 개발을 목표로 하였다. 기초실험으로 여러 가지의 담체 표면특성(SEM)과 성분(EDXS)을 고찰한 결과 1차 실험담체로 CaCO3를 선정하였다, 코팅안료 배합에 있어 다양한 종류의 계면활성제를 처리한 후 제조한 녹색안료의 색상발현 실험을 한 결과 건조상태나 색상발현에서 녹색물질 배합농도에 차이를 보였으나, 음이온계면활성제를 사용한 계면활성제 3이 안료 건조와 색상발현에 가장 적합하였다.

작목별 비료투입에 따른 경제적 효과 추정 (The Economic Effects of Chemical Fertilizer in Big Data)

  • This study analyze the economic effect of chemical fertilizer. We used the input and output data, and the analysis variables include production output nitrogen, phosphoric acid, potassium, seeds, and labor. The main results are as follows. First, for spring potatoes, potassium increases to a certain level of output, but over a certain stage, the output decreases as the input increases. Optimal use of potassium in the calculation of spring potatoes can achieve the effect of reducing input costs and increasing output simultaneously. Second, radish In autumn, nitrogen increases to a certain level, but over a certain stage it represents a reverse U-shaped relationship in which output decreases as input increases. This means that reducing the amount of fertilizer input increases the output. This means that soil-related agricultural big data can contribute to the management of nutrients and greenhouse gas reduction in agricultural land.

Simulation of greenhouse gas emissions of small ships considering operating conditions for environmental performance evaluation

  • This study developed a method for simulating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions considering changes in conditions that may occur during the actual operation of small ships. Additionally, we analyzed and compared the results of the proposed method with that of existing emission simulations according to life-cycle assessment (LCA), thus verifying the proposed method's effectiveness. Through the results of the study, we confirmed that the proposed method improves the simulation by considering emissions due to ship operation, whereas existing methods focus on emissions caused by raw material production. Additionally, the proposed method could identify and quantify the relationship between changes in operating conditions and GHG emissions. We expect this GHG emissions simulation technique to help improve the environmental performance of ships in the future.

Influence Dispersing Agent on the Modifiers in the High-Penetration Asphalt

  • In this study, high-penetration asphalt with low greenhouse gas emissions was used in the asphalt mixing process to reduce the carbon emissions during the reaction due to its capacity to be produced even at low temperatures. In effect, cationic, anionic, and non-ionic dispersants were added and mixed in different feeding ratios, seeking an effective dispersion of the modifiers (SIS, PS, TPEE, and SEBS) into the high-penetration asphalt matrix and forming an asphalt binder with a melting point of 120 ℃. The compatibility of the modifiers and the high-penetration asphalt was examined using SEM and DSC techniques, and the role of NDP-1 as a dispersant was carefully investigated with respect to dissolution time. The analyses showed that: (1) the dispersibility of the asphalt binder is good when the non-ionic dispersant is used; (2) as the concentration of the non-ionic dispersant increases, the dissolution time decreases and the domain size contracts; (3) the ND70-PS has the shortest dissolution time, the lowest agglomeration rate, and a single Tg value.
