  • Calc-silicate rock sheet occurs within the Precambrian metasedimentary rocks in Bonghwa area, Kyungsangbuk-do, Korea. The calc-silicate rock runs parallel to bedding plane with $14{\sim}18$ meters in width. Calcite, dolomite, serpentine and tremolite are occurred as major minerals and talc is occurred as a miner mineral. Serpentine mainly occurs in the upper part and tremolite occurs in lower part of calc-silicate rock sheet. Colors of calc-silicate rock change to deeper green with increasing amounts of serpentine mineral. XRD, FT-IR analyses indicates that serpentine mineral is antigorite. Platy structure of antigorite is well observed by SEM analysis. EPMA data indicates that chemical composition of antigorite is very close to ideal ($SiO_2$: 44.3 wt% and MgO: 40.8 wt%). The chemical formula of antigorite is calculated as $Mg_{2.82}Al_{0.04}Fe^{3+}_{0.04}Si_{2.05}O_5(OH)_4$. From careful study by comparing mineralogical analysis data and occurrence, calc-silicate rock sheet was formed by metamorphism of calcareous sedimentary rocks having different mineralogical and chemical compositions. It is considered that the host rock of serpentine enriched upper part was more Mg-rich rocks than the host rocks of tremolite enriched lower part.

  • [ $Ni-10wt.\%Cr$ ] green sheet를 불활성분위기로 $900^{\circ}C$까지 승온시킨 다음 부분산화$(P_{H2}/P_{H2O}=10^{-2})$$1100^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 환원처리를 시키는 소결공정으로 Ni-Cr 고용체 기지 주변에 작은 $Cr_2O_3$ 알갱이가 고르게 분포하는 anode(Anode Sintered in Partial oxidation - Reduction atmosphere; ASPR)를 제조하였으며, creep 변형률이 $2.8\%$로서 미세구조에 따른 creep 특성의 비교를 위해 기존의 환원분위기에서만 소결시킨 anode(Anode Sintered in Reduction atmosphere only; ASR)의 $11\%$보다 우수한 creep 저항성을 나타내었다.

  • High voltage multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) are classified into two classes-those for temperature compensation (class I) and high dielectric constant materials (class II). We manufactured high voltage MLCC with temperature coefficient characteristics of C0G and X7R and studied the characteristics of electric properties. Also we studied the characteristics of dielectric breakdown voltage (V) as the variation of thickness in the green sheet and how to pattern the internal electrodes. The dielectric breakdown by electric field was caused by defects in the dielectric materials and dielectric/electrode interface, so the dielectric thickness increased, the withstanding voltage per unit (E) thickness decreased. To overcome this problem, we selected the special design like as floating electrode and this design affected the increasing breakdown voltage(V) and realized the constant withstanding voltage per unit thickness(E). From these results, high voltage application of MLCCs can be expanded and the rated voltage can also be develop.

  • An intertidal marine benthic algal vegetation and vertical distribution at Youngil Bay, the eastern coast of Korea was investigated to clarify the community structure and vertical distribution by quadrat method from February 2003 to January 2009. Marine algae identified from the area were 152 species; 25 green, 38 brown and 89 red algae. The dominant species were Ulva spp., Ulva pertusa, Chaetomorpha moniligera, Undaria pinnatifida, Sargassum horneri, S. miyabei, S. thunbergii, Gelidium amansii, Corallina pilulifera, Grateloupia elliptica, G. filicina, Prionitis cornea, Chondrus ocellatus, Chondracanthus intermedia, Acrosorium polyneurum, Chondria crassicaulis, Polysiphonia morrowii and Symphyocladia latiuscula at study sites. The vertical distribution of intertidal marine algae was divided into three distinct zones. They were characterized by Porphyra spp. and Ulva spp. at the upper, Ulva spp. and Ulva pertusa at the middle, and Sargassum spp., Gelidium amansii, Grateloupia spp., Chondrus ocellatus and Chondria crassicaulis at the lower zones, respectively. Functional form group analysis showed that coarsely branched forms comprised 44.7% of the algal community, whereas thick leathery forms, sheet forms and filamentous forms comprised 6.6-25.7%. R/P, C/P and (R+C)/P values were 2.34, 0.66 and 3.00, respectively.

  • The preparation and characteristics of flexible indium tin oxide electrodes grown on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates using a specially designed roll-to-roll sputtering system for use in flexible optoelectronics In spite of low a PET substrate temperature, we can obtain the flexible electrode with a sheet resistance of 47.4 ohm/square and an average optical transmittance of 83.46 % in the green region of 500~550 nm wavelength. Both x-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis results showed that all flexible ITO electrodes grown on the PET substrate were an amorphous structure with a very smooth and featureless surface, regardless of the Ar/$O_2$ flow ratio due to the low substrate temperature, which is maintained by a cooling drum. In addition, the flexible ITO electrode grown on the Ar ion beam treated PET substrates showed more stable mechanical properties than the flexible ITO electrode grown on the wet cleaned PET substrate, due to an increased adhesion between the flexible ITO and the PET substrates.

  • Barrier ribs in the plasma display panel (PDP) function to maintain the discharge space between the glass plates as well as to prevent optical crosstalk. Patterning of barrier ribs is one of unique processes for making PDP. Barrier ribs could be formed by screen-printing, sand blasting, etching, and photolithographic process. In this work photosensitive barrier rib pastes were prepared by incorporating binder polymer, solvent, functional monomers photoinitiator, and barrier rib powder of which surface was treated with fumed silica particles. Studies on the function of materials for the barrier rib paste were undertaken. After optimization of paste formulation and photolithographic process, it was applied to the photosensitive barrier rib green sheet and was found that photolithographic patterning of barrier ribs could be formed with good resolution up to $110{\mu}m$ height and $60{\mu}m$ width after sintering.

  • When a variety of repeated loads are given, most steel structures failed in much lower level of loads than static failure loads. In addition, bridge always includes the internal defects or discontinuities. from these, fatigue cracks initiates and can lead to sudden failure. Thus, in this study, tensile specimens by the cover plate shapes were used as the test specimens. The fatigue test was performed by constant amplitude fatigue loading and beach mark. From the results of this study, each specimen's fatigue section was observed. in addition, stress intensity factor at crack tip was calculated by using the Green's function which applied to discontinuous section where causing stress concentration. Therefore, the fatigue life of structural detail was investigated by adopting the theories of fracture mechanics. each specimen's crack shape is a semi-elliptical surface crack or center crack sheet, stress gradient correction factor, Fg is the most subjective of all stress intensity correction factors and fatigue life should be predicted by previous proposed function and finite element analysis.

  • This paper presents a bandpass fitler of GPS and WLAN band based on LTCC. The structure of bandpass fitler consists of a Butterworth lowpass fitler and highpass filter using CRLH (Composite Right/Left-Handed) transmission line. Using green sheet with dielectric constant 7.2, we fabricated the bandpass filter that satisfied GPS and WLAN band characteristics. We are implemented the bandpass filter at center frequency 1.5 GHz (GPS) and 2.4 GHz (WLAN). Its insertion loss are 1.66 dB at GPS and 3.20 dB at WLAN respectively.
