CKD 혼합에 따른 Recycled Material의 회복탄성계수와 일축압축강도 특성 (Characteristic of Resilient Modulus and Unconfined Compressive Strength for Recycled Materials blend with Cement Kiln Dust)

  • This study was conducted to determine the resilient modulus (Mr) and the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of two recycled roadway materials such as recycled pavement material (RPM) and road surface gravel (RSG) with or without cement kiln dust (CKD). The recycled materials were blended with two CKD contents (5, 10 %) and 28 day curing time. Mr and UCS tests were also conducted after 10cycles of freezing and thawing to asses the impact of freeze-thaw cycling. Mr was determined conducting by the laboratory test method described by NCHRP 1-28A. Stabilized RPM and RSG had a modulus and a strength higher than unstabilized RPM and RSG. Mr and UCS of RPM and RSG mixed with CKD increased with increasing CKD content. The results indicated that the addition of CKD could be improved the strength and the stiffness of RPM and RSG. Therefore, RPM, RSG and CKD could be used as an effective materials in the reconstruction of roads.

Field experimental study for layered compactness of subgrade based on dimensional analysis

  • The Compaction effect is important for evaluating the subgrade construction. However, there is little research exploring the compaction quality of deep soil using hydraulic compaction. According to reinforcement effect analysis, dimensional analysis is adopted in this work to analyze subgrade compactness within the effective reinforcement depth, and a prediction model is obtained. A hydraulic compactor is then employed to carry out an in-situ reinforcement test on gravel soil subgrade, and the subgrade parameters before and after reinforcement are analyzed. Results show that a reinforcement difference exists inside the subgrade, and the effective reinforcement depth is defined as increasing compactness to 90% in the depth direction. Layered compactness within the effective reinforcement depth is expressed by parameters including the drop distance of the rammer, peak acceleration, tamping times, subgrade settlement, and properties of rammer and filler. Finally, a field test is conducted to verify the results.

C.S.G 재료의 일축압축강도에 미치는 영향인자 (The Factors Affecting the Unconfined Compressive Strength of C.S.G Materials)

  • C.S.G(Cemented Sand and Gravel) 재료는 댐 수몰지로부터 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 굴착토와 하상자갈에 소량의 시멘트와 물을 혼합한 재료를 총칭하는 것으로 최근 댐, 도로, 호안등의 건설재료로 그 활용성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 통상적으로 C.S.G 재료의 강도특성은 입도분포, 단위시멘트량, 재령, 그리고 함수비 등과 같은 여러 가지 요소에 의하여 영향을 받는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 화북댐 유역의 하상자갈을 3가지 종류의 입도분포로 재구성하여 재령, 단위시멘트량 그리고 함수비의 혼합 비율에 따른 일축압축강도의 변화를 연구하였다. 실험결과 C.S.G 재료의 일축압축강도는 상기 영향 인자들에 의하여 다양하게 영향을 받았으며, 특히 입도분포와 단위수량은 C.S.G 재료의 강도를 결정하는데 매우 중요한 인자임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 실험적 결과를 토대로 각 영향인자를 고려한 강도 예측식을 제안함으로써 설계 및 시공에 필요한 기초적인 자료를 제공하고자 한다.

도로노면 유출수 처리를 위한 여과에서의 여재별 손실수두 특성 (A study on the headloss of filter media for treatment of Road Runoff)

  • Stormwater runoff from urban road area as non-point source has a tendency of including lots of pollutants at initial rain period. Recently, there are several cases of having installed treatment facilities for reducing pollution discharge from the impervious cover in urban area to prevent watershed environment from getting worse. The filtration type among non-point source treatment systems has been known as one of the most efficient system for treatment of non-point source pollutants. Therefore, various kinds of filter media such as expanded polypropylene(EPP), granular activated carbon, zeolite, perlite, illite, sand, gravel has been developed. This study was conducted to verify performance and hydraulic characteristics of filter media as measures for non-point source. The experiment was carried out to evaluate applicability and variation of 4 kind of most popular filter media(EPP, GAC, Zeolite, Perlite) in headloss with elapsed time and influent flow rate and to obtain data base that could be used to establish management plan for road runoff treatment. In experiment by tap water, it showed that EPP and perlite those are floatable materials showed stable operating performance and lower headloss than the others.

산림관리도로의 생력화를 위한 친환경적 횡단목 배수로의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of an Environment Friendly Crossing Wood Drain for Easy Forest Road Management)

  • We introduce a simplified crossing wood drain disperses rain water concentration and is used to protect the road surface from erosion due to flooding over the unpaved road. The efficiency of a simplified crossing wood drain was also investigated. A structure of simplified crossing wood drain can be produced within 10 minutes and installed within 18 minutes. The cost of the this product is 1/5 of that of the existing crossing drain product. The production and installation cost can be reduced according to dexterity. In the context of such applications, the degrees of damage for a rubber pad, which preventing the rain overflow, were varied according to their materials. A type of 8.2mm thick fabric rubber was the most suitable in this study.

고속도로 노면퇴적물의 특성 및 도로청소에 의한 입도별 제거효율 분석 (Analysis of Characteristics and Removal Efficiency of Road-deposited Sediment on Highway by Road Sweeping According to Particle Size Distribution)

  • The removal efficiency of road-deposited sediment (SDR) by road sweeping was analyzed by performing particle size analysis before and after road sweeping at four highways during May to December 2019. The SDR accounted for the largest proportion in the range of 250 to 850 ㎛ and the degree of its proportion had an effect on the particle size distribution curve. The particle size distribution of the collected sediments showed a similar distribution at all sites. Below 75 ㎛, the removal efficiency of SDR showed a constant value around 40%, but above 75 ㎛, it increased as the particle size increased. The removal efficiency was 82-90% (average 86%) for gravel, 66-93% (average 79%) for coarse sand, 35-92% (average 64%) for fine sand, 29-69% (average 44%) for very fine sand, 19-58% (average 40%) for silt loading, 10-59% (average 40%) for TSP, 13-57% (average 40%) for PM10, and 15-61% (average 38%) for PM2.5. SDR removal efficiency showed an average of 69% for the four highways. It was found that if the amount of SDR was less than 100 g/m2, it was affected by the road surface condition and had a large regional deviation. As such, the amount of SDR and the removal efficiency increased. The fine particles, which have relatively low removal efficiency, contained a large amount of pollutants, which is an important factor in water and air pollution. Therefore, various measures to improve the removal efficiency of fine particles in SDR by road sweeping are needed.

분말에서 발생하는 Washboarding 현상에 대한 이산요소법을 이용한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis for the Washboarding Phenomenon on the Top Surface of Fine Powders Using the Discrete Element Method)

  • Washboarding is a phenomenon in which a wavy shape occurs periodically and naturally on an unpaved road made of soil or gravel. This phenomenon causes high-frequency vibration of the traffic traveling on the road because of the height difference of the wave pattern, which may lead to vehicle failure. Consequently, associated research is needed concerning vehicle safety. Therefore, in this study, a numerical simulation was conducted using the discrete element method, which is often used for powder simulation. In contrast to previous studies, the results of this study demonstrate that washboarding can occur even in an environment of 1.5 m/s or less. However, the amount of washboarding is minimal. The study revealed that washboarding develops over time, such that sufficient development time is required before measurements are taken.

코팅재료를 이용한 비쇄석골재의 성능향상 (Improvement of Low-quality Local Aggregates Using Coating Materials)

  • 세립의 포리에틸렌, 카펫부산물, 시멘트와 라텍스로 코팅된 매끄럽고 둥근 규사질의 강자갈을 가지고 실험적인 조사가 이루어졌으며 아스팔트 혼합물 공시체를 만들었다. No. 4번체 이상에 남아 있는 골재만 코팅을 하였다. 개념은 매끄럽고 둥근 강자갈을 코팅함으로서 표면 거칠기를 증가시켜 공학적 특성이 우수한 혼합물을 만들어 내는 것이다. 표준 테스트와 비표준 테스트를 이용하여 아스팔트 혼합물 공시체를 평가하였다. 코팅과정과 제한된 혼합물 공시체 테스트 결과에 근거하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 세 가지 종류로 코팅된 골재를 사용한 혼합물들은 Hveem과 Marshall 안정도, 인장강도와 회복탄성계수가 증가되었으며 이는 코팅되지 않은 골재로 만든 혼합물과 비교하여 소성변형과 균열저항성이 향상된 것으로 판단할 수 있다.

차량 롤전복의 과도거동에 관한 시험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Transient Behavior of Vehicle Rollover)

  • Rollover accident is one of the serious traffic accident and rollover accident takes high portion of all accident. The most common type of rollover is a tripped rollover which occupy 95% of all type of single-vehicle rollover. Tripped rollover occurs when a vehicle leaves normal road way and tripped by loose gravel, soil of fixed object such as guard rail, curbs and ditches. And the rest of the type of rollover is un-tripped rollover. An un-tripped rollovers that occurs during high-speed collision avoidance maneuvers. In this paper, presents the explanation of the un-tripped rollover test method and procedure, additionally this paper deals with various occurrence in the un-tripped test such as occurring excessive tire camber in the un-tripped test, tire side-wall contact with road surface and roll oscillation. And this paper analyzes the analysis of the roll rate amplitude in specific frequency through the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and the roll angle at the steering reverse timing which is the Fishhook test roll rate feedback time. Finally, this paper analyzes the relations between the estimated steady state roll gain and rollover stability.

연약점토층위 이층지반 지표면 재하시 지중응력 특성연구 (A Study on the Stress Distribution beneath Loaded Ground Surface Area of Double Strata Ground on Soft Clay Layers)

  • If the load of constructing vehicles during the construction work acts on the road or the ground surface on the soft ground, due to the excess stresses in soils the trafficability of the vehicles influences the constructing efficiency, constructing period and so on. Stress distribution in soils is the very important element to design and to solve the problems of settlement, safety of foundations and trafficability of constructing vehicle in civil engineering. This research represents the comparative estimation of the actual and theoretical measurement on the underground stress of outer layer for each soil after the observation of each top soil layer for its vertical and horizontal stress in (1)homogeneous sand ground (2) weak stratum with the sand soil (3) weak stratum with gravel of the soil model, and it also investigates the effect of subsidence of ground by the repeated load. The underground stress turn out to be different in the value of theoretical and actual measurement after the trial examination of model.
