  • The present investigation deals with the pulsatile flow of incompressible viscous fluid through a circular rigid tube provided with constriction. The method applied here is the Decomposition Method, which has been developed by George Adomian [3]. The advantages of this method are the avoidance of simplifications and restrictions, which change the non-linear problem to mathematically tractable one, whose solution is not consistent with physical solution. Theoretically results, such as, wall shear stress and axial velocity component, have been obtained and the graphical solutions of these theoretical results have been shown in the figures.

  • The rapid increase in users of mobile smart devices has greatly expanded their range of activities. Compare to conventional mobile devices, smart devices have higher security requirements because they manage and use various kind of confidential information of the owners. However, the cation schemes provided by conventional smart devices are vulnerable to recent attacks such as shoulder surfing, recording, and smudge attacks, which are the social engineering attacks among the types of security attacks targeting the smart devices. In this paper, we propose a novel authentication method that is robust against social engineering attacks but sufficiently considering user's convenience. The proposed method is robust by using combination of a graphical authentication method and a text-based authentication method. Furthermore, our method is easier to memorize the password compare to the conventional graphical authentication methods.

  • As the highly complex and precise control functions are required in modern industrial process control system, the complex function models and developed in each hardware and software of PLC. The SFC graphical language is very powerful for describing the sequential logic control algorithm, on the other hand it graphical language is very powerful for describing the sequential logic control algorithm, on the other hand it has problems in describing the interlock logic control algorithm, such as error management algorithm. In this paper, we propose the efficient error management method using the action qualifiers to design the error management algorithm in industrial process control system described scheme, we realize the error management logic in process control system of film coating machine. From the experiment results, we confirm that the proposed scheme is very useful in aspects to realize easily th error management logic and to reduce the memory capacity for user's program.

  • Outliers distort many measures for data analysis. We can propose dandelion seed plot as a graphical tool for evaluating the effect of outliers in one-and two-variate data. We can draw mean-variance dandelion seed plots using linked curves which are made by changing weights from 1 to 0 for each datum. Similarly we can also draw covariance-correlation-coefficient dandelion seed plots. This graphical method can be a useful tool for elementary statistics education in college.

  • One of the most important methods used in the modern analysis of linear networks and systems is the signal flow graph technique, first introduced by S.J. Mason in 1953. In essence, the signal-flow graph technique is a graphical method of solving a set of simultaneous. It can, therefore, be regarded as an alternative to the substitution method or the conventional matrix method. Since a flow-graph is the pictorial representation of a set of equations, it has an obvious advantage, i.e., it describes the flow of signals from one point of a system to another. Thus it provides cause-and-effect relationship between signals. And it often significantly reduces the work involved, and also yields an easy, systematic manipulation of variables of interest. Mason's formula is very powerful, but it is applicable only when the desired quantity is the transmission gain between the source node and sink node. In this paper, author summarizes the signal-flow graph technique, and stipulates three rules for conversion of an arbitrary nonsource node into a source node. Then heuses the conversion rules to obtain various quantities, i.e., networks gains, functions and parameters, through simple graphical manipulations.

  • D-optimality is used often in design augmentation of mixture experiments. Although such alphabetic criteria provide a valuable foundation for generating designs, they often fail to convey the true nature of the design's support of the fitted model in terms of prediction variance over a region of interest. Thus, a graphical method is proposed to evaluate augmented designs in mixture experiments. This method can be used to evaluate the effect of missing observation and outlier in mixture experiments.

  • We present a graphical method for determining a pair of optical materials and powers to design an achromatic and athermal lens system with corrected Petzval curvature. To graphically obtain the solutions, a three-dimensional (3D) glass chart is proposed. Even if a particular material combination is unavailable, we can select an element suitable for a specific lens and continuously change the element powers of an equivalent single lens for aberrations correction. Thus, we can iteratively identify the materials and powers on a 3D glass chart. By designing a fisheye lens using this method, an achromatic and athermal system with flat Petzval curvature is obtained, over the specified waveband and temperature ranges.

  • In this paper, comparative analysis of offset voltage PWM method and $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method for three-phase matrix converter is addressed by using a simple analytical and graphical method. Offset voltage PWM method calculates PWM patterns in terms of offset voltage and variable slope of carrier, and it simplifies matrix converter modulation algorithm significantly. $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method generates patterns by using two phases and maintaining a remaining phase to base phase, and it is implemented in the industrial products. The most important performance criterion of modulation method is a magnitude of current ripples and it is analytically modelled. The graphical illustration of theses complex multivariable functions make per-carrier cycle and per fundamental cycle behavior of two PWM methods understood. Two modulation methods are analysed with the analytical formulas and graphics, and the analysis shows offset voltage PWM method is superior to $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method with respect to input current ripples and output voltage ripples.

  • The help or guide sentences of educational math games which use mathematical statements need to represent graphical forms for the learners of the game generation whose cognitive style is graphic first. In this paper, we proposed an object-based visual representation method for mathematical statements. It has object-based description rules to use graphical symbols and mathematical symbols with text words. It is easy to describe or to understand accurately mathematical meaning and is also fast for learners to read for understanding. The proposed method is good for learners of the game generation to get the help as scaffolding for learning math by educational games.

  • Multimode characteristics of a dielectrically loaded rectangular cavity are analyzed by a graphical method. Coupled transcendental equations for multimode frequencies may be solved graphlially. This shows that the resonant frequencies of the partially flued cavity with a dielectic are shifted toward lower frequencies compared to those of the empty cavity. It is shown that a perturbational scheme can not be employed to calculate multimode frequencies because of relatively large frequency shrift. Existence of the surface wave modes In the dielectric and their resonant frequencies are early predicted from this graphical method.
