This paper reviewed the legislation for the self regulation of APEC, OECD and EC, and introduced the regulation system for several countries, such as U.S. U.K and Japan. Also, we analyzed the current issues and problems of self-regulation in Korea and tried to suggest the future direction. There were three different regulations such as market forces, government regulation and self-regulation and the model of self-regulations were shaped in various types. Even though the government made the standard regulations for business sector but it was impossible to direct individual firms and their compliance of those regulations. To compensate the government regulation, the self regulation with low cost is needed and also two kinds of regulations has to be unified to enhance the regulation system in E-commerce. Industries should participate for the regulation voluntarily and consumers must give an award of legislation for self-regulation to motivate the self-regulations of industries.

  • Deregulation is not a matter or problem to be resolved simply by revising a law or a system in a short period of time. Rather, it should be implemented at a steady pace on the basis of a full understanding of the relationships between government regulation and the government's role, taking into account the inherent functions of the market. Moreover, arguments about government regulation and its deregulation vary according to viewpoints and approaches on the part of parties concerned. This makes it more difficult to form a consensus or reach a conclusion in recognizing and resolving the basis of problems at issue. This paper aims to review the shipping industry deregulation of major countries, to analyze Korea's situation and problems of shipping regulation, and to suggest it's improving methods. Although government regulation is a sensitive policy issue, this paper remains relatively at the basic research. Regulation problems should be tackled by interdisciplinary approach. A specific approach in regulation study could not explain exactly the causes and results of government policy

Content analysis method was used to extract 466 companies' annual reports to measure the extent of social and environmental responsibility disclosure based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) checklist. Independent sample t-test and multivariate regression analysis were also conducted to test the differences of the extent of CSERD as well as determinants and consequence of CSERD. Our results show that the extent of CSERD in 2014 is 21.60 percent higher than in 2010 (13.39 percent). Government regulation has a significant effect on the extent of CSERD. This study also finds that market values positively CSER information disclosed by company. Given that government regulation has a positive impact, however, the findings of this study suggests that the extent of CSERD is still low. To enhance CSERD, government should continuously encourage companies to abide by the regulations as mandated. • The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual effect of government R&D support and regulation as a policy on technology innovation of SMEs. Because the previous studies did not consider the endogeneity of R&D support and made inconsistent conclusions in the case of regulation, the empirical research was conducted by logistic, negative binomial regression and 2SLS analysis for 1,223 SMEs. The analysis results show that government support has the effect for technology innovation even considering the endogeneity of government R&D support, and government regulation has a positive effect on technology innovation which supports Porter's theory. These results imply that government R&D support is important in inducing technology innovation because of the vulnerability of SMEs technology development environment and government should foster SMEs technology innovation through appropriate regulation policies rather than unconditional deregulation.

  • This paper analyzes the effects of government support systems, regulation, and innovation promotion policy on technological innovation performance of companies in the service industry using 4,000 Korean service industry companies. Multiple and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the correlation between the individual factors and process innovation and product innovation. Government support, regulation and technology innovation in the service industry were tested. In addition, government innovation promotion policy includes government support and regulation and the technological innovation performance of service firms. As a result, the government support system affects both the process innovation and the product innovation performance in the service industry, but affects only the process innovation performance in the case of regulation. Innovation promotion policy was found to regulate the relationship between government support systems and regulation and innovation performance of the service industry. Therefore, these findings provide strategic implications for the management of enterprises in relation to government support systems and innovation policy. It is necessary to reorganize regulations that are outdated to improve the effect of innovation policies on innovation performance.
