어머니의 영양태도와 영양지식이 초등학생 자녀의 비만발생 요인에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mothers′ Nutritional Attitudes and Knowledge on Their Children′s Obesity Inducing Factors)

  • This study investigated the effects of mothers' nutritional attitudes and knowledge on their children's obesity inducing factors: eating habits, food preferences, food frequencies, and physical activities. The subjects were 774 mothers and their elementary school children (774) in Busan. About thirty percent of the children had a tendency toward obesity as a result of their eating habits, food preferences, food frequencies, and physical activities, but their mothers' nutritional attitudes and knowledge had little affect on their children's obesity inducing factors. Though the children were interested in their body weight changes, they chose not to practice appropriate eating habits. Thus, education about good eating habits and appropriate physical activities should be promoted for children's health and growth. Because the mothers' nutritional attitudes and knowledge had little affect on their children in this study, nutrition education in school needs to be enhanced. However, because mothers play many roles in their children's habit and health, they also need to be educated in order that their nutritional attitudes and knowledge help their children's health and growth directly. And school and home should be more closely connected.

청소년의 수면습관, 주간졸음과 문제행동과의 관계 (Relationships between sleep habits, daytime sleepiness and problem behaviors among adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년의 수면습관, 주간졸음과 문제행동의 관계를 파악하기 위한 서술적 횡단적 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 중고등학생 276명이었으며, 수면습관은 Adolescent Sleep Hygiene scale(ASHS), 주간졸음은 Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS), 문제행동은 한국판 청소년 자기행동평가척도(K-YSR)를 사용하여 측정하였다. 자료수집은 2014년 7 월부터 8 월까지 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 이루어졌다. 연구결과 중학생의 경우 수면시간이 충분하다고 인지하고, 수면의 질이 좋다고 인지할수록, 수면중 문제가 없으며, 지난 한 주 동안 카페인이 함유된 음료를 마시지 않았다고 응답한 학생의 수면습관 점수가 더 높았다. 수면습관 점수는 주간졸음, 문제행동과 음의 상관관계가 나타났다. 따라서, 청소년의 좋은 수면습관 형성과 수면의 질 향상을 위한 수면증진 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다.

중학생들의 체격에 따른 식습관과 식생활 태도에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Dietary Habits and Dietary Attitudes among Middle School Students with Different Obesity Indexes)

  • The object of this study was done to assert the dietary habits, food intake, and dietary attitudes of 332 middle school students in a small city. The subject were divided into doe groups based on weight length index (WLI). Anthropometric data showed that the mean height and weight were 169.5 $\pm 8.2 cm and 55.1 $\pm 11.5 kg in the male students and 158.9 $\pm 5.9 cm and 48.1 $\pm 7.6 kg in the female students. The mean WLIs for male and female students were 103.0 $\pm 19.7 and 96.3 $\pm 12.8, respectively. Of the male students 27.9% and of the female students 32.1% were underweight, and of the male students 28.9% and of the female students 13.0% were overweight based on WLI index. Lack of good dietary habits in the overweight group tended to be the highest, the normal group was the second highest, and the underweight group was the lowest. The regularity of eating breakfast and flood prejudice scores in the overweight group were significantly higher than those in the normal and underweight group. With respect to flood intake, the normal group tended to consume grains, yellow or green vegetables, vegetables with light color, fruits, milk, yogurt, cheese, seaweeds, fat-floods, instant floods, sweet floods, carbonated drinks, and spicy and salty floods more frequently. The underweight group tended to consume meat-ham, eggs, fish and fried, stir-fried flood more frequently In dietary attitudes, the overweight group tended to have more favorable dietary attitudes, and the normal group tended to have negative dietary attitudes. The underweight group showed more negative responses to trying to eat/drink milk, yogurt, or cheese everyday than the overweight groups. It might be suggested that more effective nutritional programs should be developed and implemented to ensure good dietary habits in middle school students, including the overweight, as well as the underweight group. Further research on the comparison of dietary characteristics is needed, with consideration of the subjects WLI.

산업장 근로자의 건강상태와 건강습관의 관련요인분석 (The Relationships between Health Status and Health Practices among Industrial Workers)

  • This study attempted to analyze the health habits affecting health status of industrial workers. Data was collected from 57 industries of 900 workers at Inchon. The research has been carried out through self-administered questionnaire and from the analysis of the health examination records and the results were as follows: 1. Among 861 respondents, men were 81.2%, women were 18.8%, 42, 6% were of the 30-40 age group, the married were 65.7%, the single were 32.5%, the high school graduates were 62.4% and 37.3% were of people who worked between 1 and 5 years. 2. As far as the seven health habits, current smokers were 54.9%, people who regularly exercise was 31.7%, 7-8 hour of sleep, on the average were 74.0%, people eating breakfast nearly every day were 8.0%, and people eating between meals almost every day were 54.2%. Heavy drinkers who drink 3-4 times or more per week were 13.2%, 1-2 times per week were 26.8% and the obese were 4.6%, 3. Health status of A and B, estimated by doctors in the health examination were 81.7% and C, D1, D2, the unhealthy were 18.3%. Men were reported more than women in unhealthy groups and the results regarding health status reflect gender, educational level and age, That is to say that, lower educational level group and over 30 years of age group perceive their health to be worse than the higher educational level and under 30 age group, And these differences were statistically significant. 4. The relationship between health habits and health status, expressed in terms of the odds ratio. Current smokers had a consistently worse health status than a nonsmokers with a 1.36 odds ratio. The workers who reported eating breakfast rarely or never were more associated with the unhealthy group than the regular breakfast eating group with a 2.48 odds ratio. One or more drink per week had a worse health status than a never or a little drinker with a 1.42 odds ratio. 5, The Health habits score and duration of work were selected as significant factors influencing health status based on logistic analysis. According to the results of this model, the odds ratio of good health status was 2.06 for good health habit score, 1.55 for population who worked seven years or more duration of work. As we have seen, good practices were found to be associated with better health and the effect of the health habits was cummulative;those who followed 6-7 health habits were in better health, even though they were older than those who failed to do so. Therefore, in order to provide the health promotion of workers it is necessary to establish a health management plan for an effective health education and health service. If we use this type of study as a prospective study design, we can get a precise basic data for health promotion and a management plan for industrial workers.

부산.경남지역 주부들의 비만도와 외식행동 및 식생활습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Obesity, Eating-out Behaviors, and Eating Habits among the Housewives in Busan and Gyeongnam Province)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 주부들의 비만도와 외식행동 및 식생활습관과의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 부산 경남지역 주부 249명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 이를 확인하기 위하여 SPSS통계프로그램 17.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, $x^2$-test, 군집분석과 One Way ANOVA분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과는 주부들의 평균키는 160.75 cm, 평균체중은 57.51 kg로 조사되었고, 주부들의 체질량지수(BMI)를 보면 정상체중이 56.6%, 과체중과 비만체중이 37.0%로 조사되었다. 한 달 외식하는 횟수는 4회 이하가 65.5%이고, 1인당 외식비는 7001원에서 11000만원사이가 34.9%로 나타났으며, 외식목적은 가족과 함께 44.2%, 외식동반자는 가족 친지가 63.8%, 선호식당은 일반대중식당이 47.8%, 외식정보는 주위사람들을 통해서가 79.1%로 조사되었다. 식생활습관요인에 따른 군집분석결과 군집1은 (중도적 식생활습관집단), 군집2는 (좋지 않는 식생활집단), 군집3은 (좋은 식생활집단)으로 명명하였고, 3개의 군집과 식생활습관요인과의 차이분석에서 (P<0.01) 유의한 결과를 나타내었다. 따라서 부산 경남지역 주부들은 37.0%가 과체중과 비만체중을 나타내어, 식생활습관의 변화가 필요한 것으로 사료된다. 또한 젊은 주부들에 비하여 나이가 많은 주부들이 건강에 좋은 식품과 규칙적인 식생활 습관을 가지고 있지만, 비만 도에서는 51세 이상에서 30세 이하보다 높게 나타난 것은 51세 이상의 주부들이 폐경기를 겪으면서 비만의 원인이 되는 것으로 사료된다.

식품영양학 전공 여대생과 비전공 여대생의 영양지식 및 식습관의 차이 (Differences in Nutrition Knowledge and Food Habits between Nutrition Major College Women and Non-Major College Women)

  • This survey was carried out to investigate the effect of self-consciousness of nutrition knowledge and health on the nutrition knowledge and on food habits between two groups of college women, a nutrition majors and a non-majors. Questionnaires were completed by 214 nutrition majors and by 145 nutrition non-major, Nutrition majors group scored significantly higher than nutrition non-majors in the nutrition knowledge. And nutrition non-majors scored significantly higher than nutrition majors in the food habits. Most of the subjects belonged to 'Fair' and 'Poor' food habit group. And also there was a significant correlation between the nutrition knowledge score and food habits score in nutrition majors and non-majors. There was a significant and positive correlation between nutrition knowledge score and food habits score in majors but it was not observed in non-majors. The higher majors had a self-consciousness of nutrition knowledge, the higher they had habit score and nutrition knowledge score, but in non-majors it was not observed. And non-majors who had a self-consciousness of health were healthier, they were higher in the food habits scores than the jai ors. The main curriculum it is important for a good food habits that one has a responsible nutrition education in main curriculum. For the Improvement of nutrition education program we should transmit the nutritional information through an effective mass media (i.e. Radio, TV, Newspaper).

어머니 취업유무에 따른 초등학교 고학년 학생의 스트레스와 식습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stress and the Dietary Habits of Elementary School Children by Mother's Employment Status)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the stress and the dietary habits of elementary school children and assess the associations with mother's employment status. The subjects were 423 students of 5th and 6th grade students (210 boys and 213 girls) in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do. Two hundred fifty-two mothers had some kinds of job and 171 mothers were housewives. The students had stress the most from their studies/schoolwork (M = 2.37), while the least from "teacher/school" (M=1.51). The average stress score of the subjects was 1.76. The average score of dietary habits was 3.43. More specifically, the statement "not skipping breakfast" had the highest score (M = 4.04) and the statement "not substituting cereals, breads or drink milk for any meal" had the lowest score. Students with employed mothers had higher stress level than students with unemployed mothers. Students with employed mothers who have blue color job showed the lower dietary habits score than those with employed mothers who had other types of job. Students of employed mothers who go to school at dawn showed the lowest dietary habits score. In both employed and unemployed mothers, the stress score of students negatively correlated with the score of dietary habits. It was important for the mother to be at home when the students go to school and return. Based on this study, mothers should be aware of the stress level of their children get depending on their employment status. They should also provide their children to have good dietary habits and nutritional education regularly.

도시지역 직장남성의 식습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eating Habits of Businessmen in Urban Areas)

  • 도시지역(대구, 구미, 영천, 창원)에 거주하는 직장남성 420명을 대상으로 식생활에 영향을 주는 요인들과 식습관에 대하여 조사하였다. 인구통계학적 변인들과 식습관의 관계에서 직업(p<0.001)과 연령(p<0.01)이 높은 유의성을 나타내었다. 전문직, 관리직, 판매직 등의 직업은 식습관이 "좋다"라는 반응이 많이 나타났으나 사무직에서 "나쁘다"라는 반응이 많이 나타났다. 연령에 있어서 청년층보다 장년층이 식습관에 대한 관심도가 높았으며 주거형태, 배우자의 직업 유무, 월수입도 상당한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 식생활 태도 및 건강상태를 나타내는 변인들과 식습관과의 연관성은 하루 평균 식사횟수, 평소 운동상태, 수면상태, 피로감과 생활리듬, 식사 후 소화상태, 건강상태 등에서 상호 높은 유의성(p<0.001)을 나타내어 식생활 태도와 건강상태가 식습관에 깊은 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

The Connection between Hand Washing and Brushing Teeth

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to identify the connection between handwashing and toothbrushing, focusing on eating habits, and to verify whether eating habits can be used as an action cue for forming health habits. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study using secondary data from the 2019 community health survey. The participants included 229,099 adults aged 19 years or older, representative of the South Korean people. We employed two dependent variables: one was washing hands, and the other was brushing teeth. Eating habits was a major independent variable. Socioeconomic variables, such as age, gender, income, occupation, economic activity, education, and residence were adjusted as confounders. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to calculate adjusted odds ratio and 95% confidence intervals. Results: Most of the participants had good health behaviors: those who wash their hands and brush their teeth were each approximately 80%. Our finding indicated that brushing teeth and washing hands can be connected with eating habits. After adjusting for confounders, it was found that people who wash their hands before meals (compared to those who did not wash their hands before meals) had a higher toothbrushing rate after meals (i.e., socioeconomic status) (Adjusted Odds Ratio: 2.0, Confidence Intervals: 1.9 to 2.1). Conclusion: Those who practice either washing hands before meals or brushing teeth after meals were found to have a connection between washing hands and brushing teeth based on the results of practicing other health behaviors. This implies that eating habits can be connected as a behavior cue to promote health habits, such as washing hands before meals and brushing teeth after meals.

여대생의 식습관과 식품기호도를 중심으로 한 문제성 피부의 위험요인 (Risk Factors for Troubled Skin Focused on Eating Habits and Food Preferences of College Women)

  • This study was undertaken to find out how much influence eating habits and food preferences have on basic skin types, namely dry skin, normal skin, oily skin, and combination skin, as well as troubled skin, such as acne skin, sensitive skin, pigment disorder skin and unbalanced oil and moisture skin. The aim of this study was to help establish good eating habits and to reform food preferences in order to maintain healthy skin. For this study, a suey on the eating habits and food preferences of 206 college women in the metropolitan area was conducted. Statistics Program SPSS (ver130.0) was used to analyze the results of the material obtained from the survey. The survey revealed that participants with basic skin types ate a variety of foods, enjoy soft drinks, juice and supplementary food, while those with troubled skin types had daily breakfast and substitute snacks for meals. The survey also showed that alcohol is the dangerous factor for the cause of both sensitive skin and pigment disorder skin. And it showed that various nutrition intake is the main factor for unbalanced oil and moisture skin.
