The Influence of Forest Fire Simulation on the Properties of Polymer Insulators

  • Forest fire simulation tests were performed with polymer and porcelain insulators at GOCHANG Power Testing Center. These tests consisted of open flames causing a temperature rise of up to $600{\sim}800^{\circ}C$ measured at the insulator surfaces. Mechanical and electrical characteristics such as the specific mechanical load, the low frequency dry flashover voltage and the impulse flashover voltage were analyzed for the polymer insulators before, during and after the simulation tests and then compared to the porcelain insulators. At the end of the fire simulation tests, there was no detrimental deterioration of any of the insulators. All the insulators passed the KEPCO specification criteria. This study showed that the forest fire simulation had no impact on the polymer insulators.

  • We perform intelligent substation construction of 154kV class with KEPRI. The intelligent substation is build in Gochang 765kV testing facility and consists of electronic instruments, digital control panel, remote monitoring and diagnosis system, and digital relay system. Rogowski coil type CT(RCT) and capacitive voltage divider(CVD) are applicable for instrument transformer of conventional type. Digital control panel(DCP) replaces local panel which is drived by mechanical operation. For monitoring rendition of GIS and TR, various sensors are used. In this paper, we report the synopsis and the progress state of project.

농어촌도로사업이 지역사회 주민의 사회.경제 활동에 미치는 영향 (Impacts of Rural Road Project on the Social and Economic Activities of Community People)

  • The objectives of the study are to analyze the impacts of rural road project on the social and economic activities of community people, offer basic data to perform evaluation of the project, and suggest future directions of the project. Research methodology adopted is a questionnaire method. There were interviewed 281 adult residents selected from 34 villages in Yeongdong-gun(mountainous), Miryang-si(middle), and Gochang-gun(plain). Results of the study are as follows: 1) Increase of income and land prices in mountainous and middle regions by the rural road project is higher than in plain; 2) Most inconvenient road expressed by the interviewee is the one linking farm and residence and 3) The problems of rural roads derived are narrowness, unpavement and partial pavement, unreliable maintenance, and long construction time. In order to meet the community needs on rural roads, it may be necessary that community people participate in the process of the project. And it is desirable to put priority on expanding and paving existing roads rather than constructing new one.

Chrysanthemum morifolium inhibits inflammatory responses in IFN-γ and LPS-induced mouse peritoneal macrophages

  • Chrysanthemum morifolium (CM) is a herb widely used in medicine for the treatment of a variety of diseases. In this study, using mouse peritoneal macrophages, we have examined whether CM affects nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis factor $(TNF)-\alpha$ and interleukin (IL)-6 induced interferon $(IFN)-\gamma$ and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). CM inhibits $IFN-\gamma$ and LPS-induced NO in dose dependent manner. We also found that CM inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine, $TNF-\alpha$ and IL-6. The expression of cyclooxygenase-2 was reduced by CM. These finding means that CM can be used in controlling macrophages-mediated inflammatory disease.

국가바람지도 및 국가지리정보에 의한 국내 해상풍력단지 개발계획의 비교분석 (Review on The Proposed Offshore Wind Farm Projects Using National Wind Atlas and National Geographic Information)

  • The proposed offshore wind farm projects, i.e., Mooudo offshore, Yeonggwang-Gochang offshore, Saemangeum offshore, Imjado offshore and Gadeokdo-Dadeapo offshore, were compared and analyzed using the Korea National Wind Mapand Wind Farm Suitability Assessment System developed by the Korea Institute of Energy Research. The suitability of the proposed areas was comprehensively assessed using geographic, economic constraints, wave condition and wind resource factors, but the focus of this paper was on the geographic constraints and wave conditions. Imjado had several geographical constraints, despite having a good wind power density, while Saemangeum had a relatively low wave height, shallow water depth, close substation and slow tidal current. It is anticipating that the present comparison and analysis could be used as reference guidelines when selecting and preparing the design of large-scale offshore wind farm in the near future.

멀티에이젼트 기술의 배전자동화시스템 적용방안 (Multi-Agent System and its Applications to the Distribution Automation System)

  • This paper presents benefits of multi-agent system approach and its application to the distribution automation system. Special attention is devoted to the description of hardware and communication platform used to upgrade the conventional distribution automation system structure. Service restoration of primary distribution system is selected as an example of the multi-agent system application. Application of the algorithm for multi-agent based service restoration technique is disclosed in detail. Real field test in Gochang test center of KEPCO has been performed to establish the feasibility of proposed technique.

폴리머 애자의 산불 신뢰성 평가 연구 (A Study on the reliability analysis of Forest Fire on Polymer Insulators)

  • The forest fire simulation tests were performed with polymer and porcelain insulators at Gochang testing center. These tests consisted of energizing 90 kV at line-to-ground voltage of 154 kV lines and open flame rising up to $600-630^{\circ}C$ as being measured at insulator surface. Mechanical and electrical characteristics such as specific mechanical load, leakage current, low frequency dry flashover voltage and impulse flashover voltage were analyzed for the polymer insulators before, during and after simulation tests compared with porcelain insulators. At the end of fire simulation tests, there was no detrimental deterioration of any insulators. All insulators passed the criteria of KEPCO specification. This study showed that forest fire simulation had no impact on polymer insulators.

  • LLC 하프브리지 공진형 컨버터는 세 개의 공진소자인 누설 인덕턴스, 자화인덕턴스, 공진 커페시터를 이용하여 영전압 스위칭을 실현 할 수 있고 낮은 전압, 전류 스트레스와 높은 효율을 기대할 수 있기 때문에 밀폐된 공간에서 동작해야하는 LED 전원장치로 적합하다. 특히 이동성의 편의를 위해 높은 전력밀도를 가져야 하는데 LLC 공진형 컨버터는 출력단에 인덕터가 없기 때문에 크기 면에서도 장점을 갖고 있다. 본 눈문에서는 LED 전원공급용 컨트롤기어인 LLC 하프브리지 컨버터의 최적설계를 반영한 이론적 해석 및 시뮬레이션을 하여 시 제작한 컨버터의 특성을 분석하였다.

Genetic Similarity and Difference of Marsh Clam (Corbicula leana) Obtained by RAPD-PCR

  • Genomic DNA from the muscle of marsh clam (Corbicula leana)from Gochang was extrected in order to identify genetic differences and similarity by randomly amplified polymorphic DNAs-polymerase chain reaction. 3.28 of the 23.0 polymorphic bands per lane were found to be polymorphic in marsh clam. Also, about 4.34% of total polymorphic bands were either specific to marsh clam. The major common bands of 0.28 kb generated by primer OPB-15 (GGAGGGTGTT) were present in every individuals, respectively, which were polymorphic. This common bands which present in every individuals should be diagnostic of specific strains, species and-or their relatedness. Primer OPB-19 (ACCCCCGAAG) produced the highest number of specific bands, which was 12. The specific minor band of 0.07 kb was present in lane 22, which were polymorphic. Especially, only a specific band (1.35kg) identifying individuals was observed in lane 22.
