This research was conducted as a part of a research project entitled 'A Fact-finding Survey and Improvement Method for Practical Engineer'. The aim of this research is to explore the educational development strategy for KUT, which is the Korea's leading university of practical engineering, by setting the relevant educational goal for training practical engineer and evaluating the core competencies of practical engineer as well as professors. The research is categorized as follow: the direction to be differentiated from other universities, the core competencies of practical engineer, the core curriculum for the training of practical engineer, professors's competencies for training of practical engineer, developing strategy for establishing the identity of KUT. Delphi technique was applied for survey and selected 32 panels including directors of Korean Institute for Practical Engineering Education, KUT professors and outside experts were involved in that survey. Delphi survey was conducted for three times. In the first survey, suggestions on five categories from an open questionnaire were summarized into 73 questions. 2nd and 3rd questionnaires were developed using the summarized questions, distributed and collected by email, thereafter, the suitability and necessity of each item were rated in five-point Likert scale, calculated and analyzed the results.

Despite the government's constant exertions on making a win-win environment through positive discrimination for small and medium-sized companies and local companies, they are suffering from order polarization, weak competitiveness to win a project, and low profitability in highly competitive market situations resulting from the contraction of the construction market. This study examined the U.S. policy and regulations on protecting the relatively weak entities in the construction industry, focused on a goaling program, setting aside the bid preference for small and middle-sized companies and local companies. From benchmarking, some implications were drawn to reconsider the goal of policy and regulations for small and medium-sized companies and local companies. In conclusion, unlike domestic positive discrimination regulations, which are based on the concept of market sharing that can allow a paper company to survive, those of the U.S. are based on the principle of fair competitiveness, and also provide a certain degree of advantage for small and medium-sized companies and local companies. Therefore, the domestic positive discrimination policy and regulations for small and medium-sized companies and local companies need to be reconsidered toward the direction of not only protecting them but also to strengthen their competitiveness in the market.
The purpose of this study was to recognize the level of acknowledgement of the psychological support services for actors, the significance of psychological factors during performance, experience, the actual situation, and the solution to psychological matters, contribution of the psychological factors to performance and competency to control, and demand for counseling and consider ways to promote these in the future. A questionnaire was developed by specialists and analyzed both through quantitative and qualitative methods. As a result, it turned out that actors perceive the effect of psychological support services such as counseling and psychological skill positively. Even though actors understand the importance of psychological factors in practice and performance in the stage, participation in education or information regarding psychological support services were rarely realized. Also, psychological factors such as confidence, concentration, sense of achievement, motivation, positive attitude and thought, setting a goal for performance, mind control, image training, and self-consciousness are regarded as highly contributing to the performance, but actors cannot control these psychological aspects effectively in fact. Actors were very positive in participating in psychological support services and hoped to have professional counseling and psychological skill services. This study can be used as a standard in supporting the field of play practically in terms of planning for psychological support services for actors, development of psychological support program, and enforcement of education on the spot.

This study looked into how Colleges of Education around the country about how they are composing the curriculum to achieve the goal of Home Economics Subjects' national teachers training, how National Teacher's Examination's questions are set and which correlation is between university's curriculum composition and National Teacher's Examination questions and they were mainly focused on clothing area. For this study, 11 Colleges of Education's Home Management Major's curriculum and clothing area of Home Economic Subjects' National Teacher's Examination's questions from 2010~2016 were analyzed, and it will be summarized in the following. First, in College of Education's Home Management department, clothing area is organized with minimum of 4 to maximum of 12 different subjects. 'Textiles and Care for Textiles' and 'Design for Clothing' which is needed for the very basic subject completion for certificate to become a Home Economic Subject's teacher were included in all the university's curriculums and depending on the department's characteristics, 1~10 extra subjects were composited. Second, there were 34 questions on the exam of National Teacher's Examination in Home Economic subjects, and the results were 10~12 out of 80 each year according to the record of recent 7 years which is from 2010 to 2016. In the Clothing Area, 31 questions included various materials such as pictures, graphs, dialogues, explanations, examples and others, and 19 questions had more than 2 data overlapping. Third, as a result of looking into the correlation between the questions of Curriculum of Clothing Area of College and National Teacher's Examination, there were most questions from the curriculum of basic subject of completion. This means, 18 questions were related to 'Textiles and Care for Textiles' and 'Design for Clothing' and there was 8 questions related to 'Construction of Clothing' which was the second most. The result of this study will help effecting setting exam questions for Home Economic Subject's National Teacher's Examination and Home Management's Curriculum of Clothing Area College being amended.
The main goal of the research is to develop instructional consulting manual to help math teachers improve classroom teaching. Improving the quality of teaching in schools is stressed as a central focus of meaningful classroom instruction and high quality education. In this research, teaching consulting was defined as an activity that covers reflection process oriented towards formative assessment and continuing professional development. Within this context, subject-specific teaching consulting and teaching professionalism with focus on PCK was reviewed. Further, the questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the current situation of teaching consulting and teachers' needs for consulting. And also, specific examples of subject-specific consulting based on our previous consulting experiences in math classes were shown. Alternative ways to improve subject teaching were derived through the conferences where consultants and consultees analyze video-taped lessons conducted by the consultees. By those results, a manual for invigorating teaching consulting was developed. The contents of the manual consists of setting conditions of teaching consulting and its implementation in the classroom teaching. The first part of the manual contains steps to establish teaching consulting system, the qualification and role of the consultant, system evaluation, etc. The second part of the manual presents the pre-preparation, prescription and implementation and follow-up management steps. Each part of the manual provides consultants with specific guidelines for each step. Finally, recommendations for making policy related to ways to invigorate teaching consulting was suggested. It is expected that specific examples and cases of subject-specific teaching consulting presented in this research will be used to narrow the gap between theory and practice of teaching consulting, and to help math, science and English teachers develop teaching professionalism.
Purpose: Existing precedent studies include success factors of individual management innovation activities constantly. However, those studies have limitations about the common key success factors of individual management innovation activities. Methods: For this study, we investigate the key success factors using literature research of the most typical management innovation activities adopted and implemented by many companies in Korea, such as 6sigma, TQM, Lean 6sigma, ERP, TPM, BPR, Project Management, System Engineering. Factors emerging repeatedly was combined into common factors and inherent factors that are necessary for the success of individual management innovation activities are designated to essential factors. Results: 'Essential factors for Six Sigma' consist of 5 items. Black belt operating system, personnel management system linkage, the correct management of the data, perform improvement projects associated with financial performance financial result, linked to financial performance improvement project, project progress management. 'Essential factors of TQM' are arranged 4 items. Quality team's independence and role, goal-setting, Quality Information System, corporate's philosophy of quality first. 'Essential factors of Lean Six Sigma' are the selection of value stream which is based on the customer needs and the value creation and identify the project based on the selected value in the company. 'Essential factors of ERP' are investigated 6 items. Ongoing system maintenance and upgrades, the measurement and support of user satisfaction, the operating systems and the policies for the maintenance, IT infrastructure, change adaption condition monitoring, focusing on improving business performance. 'Essential factors for TPM' are arranged 4 items. Motivated and energetic Bottom-Up, CEO's recognition of the importance facility management, long-term perspective of necessity and ongoing patience. 'Essential factors for BPR' are the pursuit of change process and the staff's sense of crisis management. 'Essential factors for Project Management' are the strategy that reduce the risk management skills through risk management and the understanding and organized management for the project participant's needs. 'Essential factors for System Engineering' consist of 2 items. The first is the design for the best balanced system with pre-analysis about the compromise the cost, schedule and the performance. The second is the analysis of large problem into small problems which can solved. We have found the solution considering components of the interface through the systematic perspective. Conclusion: Common factors and essential factors presented in this study will properly help to introduce the individual management innovation activities for the each business sector and implement management innovation. After this study, new literature research that reflect new studies should accomplish steadily.
Performances of retroreflectivity vary place to place, according to traffic volumes and time lengths after striping, depending on pavement marking materials and colors. The present paper uses the nation wide data of retroreflectivity, which has been collected from freeways and then tries to develop the regression curve setting traffic volume and service life as independent variables and retroreflectivities as dependent variables. The DB system includes two year's measurement in $2005{\sim}2006$ over Korean freeway pavement marking at an interval of three months for the period. The mobile measurement system, a laserlux, was employed for the purpose. The DB has provided a lot of information about materials and performance of the specific pavement marking such as geometric features, traffic volumes, material characteristics and the installation date. This study provides the comparison of pavement marking performances under diversified conditions. Based on accumulated pavement marking performances, this study provides performance curves based on the diversified factors. The goal of the retroreflectivity modeling is to develop equations that can be used to estimate an average retroreflectivity of pavement markings as a function time since application and traffic volume. After representing the variation of retroreflectivities and estimating regression curves by linear, exponential, logarithmic and power function, the regression curve which had the highest coefficient of determination and the value similar to the last field measurement was regarded as the retroreflectivity decay model. As a result of verification, the decay model showed the signification within the 90% confidence level and especially showed the clear relation with field data according to increase of cumulative vehicle exposure. Accordingly, these models can be used to determine service lives, retroreflectivity degradation rates, and retroreflectivity of new markings.
The occurrence of complicating, multilateral social condition demands the strategy for facing many social state and consolidating public security against criminal loss. The lacking ability of local police for preventing crime can't satisfy the demand of security and can't get rid of fear of crime. At last, it brings a distrust of public confidence and became a factor of serious social crisis. We have problems - not only making an alternative plan for preventing crime, but also introducing CPTED(Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) by environmental design, to expect crime prevention and to select systemic crime prevention system and the most suitable model. And we have a goal - to recognize the importance of guard activity for local crime, analyse public safety activity in community & focusing guard activity as a strategy for them, apply CPTED in police and private security company as a local crime prevention & setting effective model, and, make it as an index for preventing & dealing with intellectual, brutal crime. The rapid growth in the guarding-activity field lighten the burden of police for crime-prevention. But the misjudgement of some people blocks it to be settled institutionally. It needs to reconsider what is the effective crime-prevention method, at this point of time when the all parts of a nation changing into unlimited competitive, private self-control system.

This study investigated small group processes in paired think-aloud problem solving. Two high school chemistry classes were assigned to St-SL group (using Strategy-Solve Listener) and SL group (Solver Listener), and their small-group behaviors were audio/video taped. Verbal behaviors of solver and listener in respect to 4 problem-solving stages and performance levels at each stage were analyzed. At the understanding stage, listeners in the St-SL group exhibited more behaviors of agreement to solver's understanding processes about given and goal of problem. As regards recalling a related law at the planning stage, solvers in the St-SL group exhibited more behaviors of modification based on listener's questions or pointing out. These verbal interactions seemed to have a positive effect on students' deriving the physical quantity with the proper laws. Few in both SL and St-SL groups exhibited the behaviors regarding setting up subgoals. No verbal behavior was observed in the SL group at the reviewing stage, and solvers in the St-SL group tended to ask for listener's agreement. However, only few performed the strategy explaining the meaning of answer at the molecular level correctly through the interactions. The St-SL group perceived that the understanding stage was the most helpful and that the planning or reviewing stages were difficult to apply.
This study analyzes the effects of the Smart Water City (SWC) project that was introduced from 2014 to 2016 in Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, Korea, focusing on the achievement of the business goals. The SWC is referred to as a city that embraces a healthy water supply system based on Smart Water Management (SWM) that promotes the efficiency of water management by combining Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) with water and sewerage facilities. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the SWC project, this study deploys evaluation criteria corresponding to the project objectives, and analyzes the outputs before and after the project. The results show that the SWC has contributed to enhancing water supply services and the reliability and drinking rate of tap water. Specific improvement areas include the rise of average water flow rate and water leakage reduction, the diffusion of water quality monitoring system, and the reduction of floating particle concentration and turbidity in drainage pipes was achieved. These were possible because of specific implementation plans for clear goal setting and achievement and active services for citizens. The data related to water quantity and quality showed improved performance compared to before the introduction of SWMS, which is a positive effect. However, a quantitative analysis of the outputs has limitations in identifying other external factors that have led to the changes. In the future, guidelines for spreading SWC and more comprehensive and specific evaluation indicators for SWC should be prepared, and SWMS should be developed in consideration of the needs of users.
