  • The effects of vehicles and penetration enhancers on the in vitro permeation of ketorolac tromethamine (KT) across excised hairless mouse skins were investigated. Among pure vehicles examined, propylene glycol monolaurate (PGML) showed the highest permeation flux, which was 94.3${\pm}$17.3 mg/cm$^2$/hr. Even though propylene glycol monocaprylate (PGMC) alone did not show high permeation rate, the skin permeability of DT was markedly increased by the addition of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DGME); the enhancement factors were 19.0 and 17.1 at 20 and 40% of DGME, respectively. • New bis-crown ethers containing siloxane chain were synthesized. 1,3-Bis(trimethylsiloxy)-1,3-dimethyl-1,3-dipentaoxacyclohexadecamethyl disiloxane (1) was synthesized by reaction of 3-methylene-16-crown-5 (8) with 1,3-bis(trimethylsiloxy)-1,3-dimethyl disiloxane (10) in the presence of Pt catalyst. 1,1,3,3,5,5-Hexamethyl-1,5-dipentaoxacyclohexadecamethyl trisiloxane (2) was synthesized by the reaction of crown ether (8) with 1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethyl trisiloxane (11) in the presence of Pt catalyst. 3-Methylene-13-crown-4 (7), 3-methylene-16-crown-5 (8), and 3-methylene-19-crown-6 (9) were synthesized by the reaction of triethylene glycol (3), tetraethylene glycol (4), and pentaethylene glycol (5) respectively with 3-chloro-2-chloro-methyl-1-propene (6) in the presence of NaH.

  • Waterborne polyurethane as a new polymer electrolyte was synthesized by using relatively hydrophilic polyols. The morphology of polyurethane was changed as it was dispersed in water. In contrast to polyurethane ionomer, waterborne polyurethane did not form an ionic cluster but produced a binary system composed of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. In the colloidal system, the former and the latter existed at outward and inward, respectively. Waterborne polyurethane was prepared from poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) /poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) copolymer, 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI), ethylene diamine as a chain extender, and three ionization agents, 1,3-propane sultone, sodium hydride and lithium hydroxide. PEG/PPG copolymer was used for suppressing the crystallinity of PEG and N-H bond was ionized for increasing the electrochemical stability of polyurethane. Low molecular weight poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(ethylene glycol dimethyl ether) (PEGDME) were used as plasticizers. DSC, FT-IR and $^1$H-NMR of the waterborne polyurethane were measured. Also, the ionic conductivity of solid polymer electrolytes based on waterborne polyurethane and various concentrations of low molecular weight poly(ethylene glycol) or PEGDME were measured by AC impedance.

  • In general, nuclear power plant concrete structure's performance has been very good with the majority of identified problems initiating during construction and corrected at that time. This study is experiments to improve drying shrinkage using glycol ether-based material for the durability of nuclear power plants. Thus, this study evaluated the obtained data from a mock up test for the practical use of concrete containing glycol ether. According to the results of this study, the concrete showed resistance performance of around 40% to drying shrinkage.

  • Our environment is faced with serious problems related to the air pollution from automobiles in these days. In particular, the exhaust emissions from the diesel engines are recognized as main cause which has a great influence on environment. In this study, the potential of biodiesel fuel and oxygenated fuel(ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether; EGBE) was investigated as an effective method of decreasing the smoke emission. The smoke emission of blending fuel(EGBE 0~20 vol-%) was reduced in comparison with diesel fuel and it was reduced approximately 64% at 2000 rpm, full load in the 20% of blending rate. On the contrary NOx emissions from biodiesel fuel and EGBE blended fuel were increased compared with diesel fuel. Torque and brake specific energy consumption(BSEC) didn't have large differences.

  • Cross-linked network solid polymer electrolytes were prepared by means of in situ hydrosilylation between poly[hydromethylslioxane-g-oligo(ethylene oxide)] and diallyl or triallyl group-containing poly(ethylene glycols). The conductivities of the resulting polymer electrolytes were greatly enhanced upon the addition of poly(ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (PEGDME) as an ion-conducting plasticizer. Conductivities of the cross-linked polymer electrolytes were more dependent on the molecular weight of PEGDME than on the cross-linkers. The maximum conductivity was found to be 5.6${\times}$10$\^$-4/ S/cm at 30$^{\circ}C$ for the sample containing 75 wt% of PEGDME (M$\_$n/ =400). These electrolytes exhibited electrochemical stability up to 4.5 V against the lithium reference electrode. We observed reversible electrochemical plating/stripping of lithium on the nickel electrode.

  • Inkjet Printing is very attractive method for direct patterns with no masks, In order to Achieve direct printing with nano metal, It is often necessary to print them with highly concentrated Ink We research the High Concentrated silver nano ink. Formulation which has a good thermal stability and storage stability and jet stability using a ethylene glycol ether. Normally Alcohol-based inks can be sensitive But High boiling point ethylene glycol ether base Ink is creating a stable meniscus and minimum maintenance issues. We are reaching a 50~60wt% high Silver Ink using a Hydrophilic Ag Nano powder. (30~50nm)

  • The huge amount of solvents used in the semi-conductor and display industry typically result in waste of valuable solvents which often form complex azeotropic mixtures. This study explored a recovery process of a quaternary waste solvent, comprising methyl 2-hydroxybutyrate, propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, ethyl lactate, and ethyl-3-ethoxy propionate. In this study, a novel shortcut column method with a graphical approach was exploited for the distillation column design of complex quaternary azeotropic mixtures. As a result, the proposed shortcut method and design procedure solved the complex separation paths successfully with less computational efforts while achieving all requirements for component purity.
