  • It is throwing the spotlight on the cultivation crops about high quality crops and productivity improvement per unit area because of rapid climate change caused by global warming. Therefore, we propose a water culture management of circulation nutrient method control system applies to solar tracking method not using traditional method of deep flow technique and artificial light source. We design it in the form of the circulation nutrient method in waterway of a certain amount of nutrient solution and water flowed into the way of circular. In addition, we design a multistage structure in pyramid shape which be possible continuous photosynthesis action to crops of water culture bottom part. Also, solar tracking method is designed five sensor method of center hole sensor method for tracking shadow of solar light not using traditional two hole, four hole sensor method. Finally, through the water culture device applies to solar light tracking method was not introduced in existing study yet, we can reduce growth speed of crops which be possible continuous photosynthesis action to crops. Moreover, We can expect high productivity of per unit area which be possible all crops can be offered growth environment of same type by using form of pyramid shape of multistage structure without top or bottom part.

  • Global warming is accelerating as greenhouse gas emissions increase owing to the increase in population and urbanization rates worldwide. As an alternative to this solution, smart cities are being promoted. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a plan for developing energy service modules for the Sejong 5-1 living area, which has been selected as a test-bed for smart cities in Korea. Based on the smart city plans announced by the government for this study, a survey questionnaire on 12 energy services was composed by collecting the opinions of experts. The survey was conducted with 1,000 citizens, the degree of necessity of energy service that citizens think of was identified. Principal Component Analysis and Association Rule Mining were conducted to describe 12 energy service items in a reduced manner and analyze the correlation and relationship of each energy service. Finally, three modules were suggested using the analyzed results so that 12 energy services could be implemented in an efficient platform. These results are expected to contribute to the realization of a smart city to make them easily accessible for those who want to promote platform services in the energy field and envision energy service items.

  • This study quantitatively investigated the increase in ballasting time through numerical calculations when an ultraviolet (UV) ballast water management system (BWMS) is installed on an existing vessel. The calculation results indicate that the ballasting time of a gas carrier having 55,000 dead weight tonnage was 2.152 hours without installation of the UV BWMS and implementation of a flow control function. Ballasting time increased by 14.2% after installing the UV BWMS, and it increased by 20.4% with both its installation and implementation of a flow control function. If actual conditions are taken into account, ballasting time after installing the UV BWMS is estimated to increase by at least 30% compared with current ballasting time. Therefore, when concerned parties select a UV type BWMS, it is advisable for them to minimize ship operation losses from an increase in ballasting time by considering the capacity of the actual ballast pumps on board and the flow energy loss of the UV BWMS. Additionally, it is recommended that a BWMS with larger capacity, larger pipes, and pipes with inside coatings be used to minimize the increase in ballasting time after installation of the BWMS.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of pretreatments blanching, roasting, drying, and storage temperatures ($25^{\circ}C$, $4^{\circ}C$ and $-10^{\circ}C$) on their quality of lotus leaves. As a result, the lotus leaves retained a good appearance when stored at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 days, $4^{\circ}C$ for 30 days, and $-10^{\circ}C$ for 90 days, regardless of the pretreatment used. At the same storage temperatures, pH, soluble solids, total acid content, polyphenols, and microorganisms were significantly different among the pretreatments (p<0.05). Soluble solids, pH, and total acid contents were not significantly different for the same pretreatments at different storage temperatures. However, the polyphenol, oxalic acid, and tartaric acid contents of lotus leaves were significantly different after drying and blanching treatments. In particular, it was shown that polyphenol content of the lotus leaf was affected by both pretreatment and storage temperature. In conclusion, the lotus leaves appeared in good condition until 5 days at $25^{\circ}C$, 30 days at $4^{\circ}C$, and 90 days at $-10^{\circ}C$, regardless of the pretreatment while influenced by storage temperature.

  • Seoul's transportation system was changed drastically starting the first of June in two thousand. This policy includes integrated distance-based fare system and public transportation card system called smart card. Especially, as public transportation card data contains individual travel, transfer and using modes information it is possible to catch the characteristics of path-based individuals and mass transit. Thus, public transportation card data can contribute to evaluate the mass transit service in integrated public transportation networks. In addition, public transportation card data are able to help to convert previous researches and analyses with link-based trip assignment models to path-based mass transit service analysis. In this study, an algorithm being suitable for path-based trip assignment models is suggested and proposed algorithm can also contribute to make full use of public transportation card data. For this, column generation algorithm hewn to draw the stable solution is adopted. This paper uses the methodology that is to take local approximate equilibrium from partial network and expand local approximate equilibrium to global equilibrium.

  • Atmospheric Acid Deposition: Nitrogen Saturation of Forests: Volume weighted annual average wet deposition of nitroge at 33 sites in Korea during 1999-2004 ranged 7.28 to $21.05kgN{\cdot}ha^{-1}{\cdot}yr^{-1}$ with average $12.78kgN{\cdot}ha^{-1}{\cdot}yr^{-1}$, which values are similar level with nitrogen deposition of Europe and North America. The temperate forests that suffered long-term high atmospheric nitrogen deposition are gradually saturated with nitrogen. Such nitrogen saturated forest watersheds usually leach nitrate ion ($NO_3^-$) in stream water and soil solution. It may be likely that Korean forest ecosystems are saturated by much nitrogen deposition. In leaves with nitrogen saturation ratios of N/P, N/K and N/Mg are so enhanced that mineral nutrient system is disturbed, suffered easily frost damage and blight disease, reduced fine-root vitality and mycorrhizal activity. Consequently nitrogen saturated forests decrease primary productivity and finally become forest decline. Futhermore understory species are replaced the nitrophobous species by the nitrophilous one. In soil with nitrogen saturation uptake of methane ($CH_4$) is reduced and emission of nitrogen monoxide (NO) and nitrous oxide ($N_{2}O$) are increased, which gases are greenhouse gas accelerating global warming.

  • Purpose: Exercise intervention after surgery has been found to improve physical fitness and quality of life (QOL). The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility and effects of a postoperative recovery exercise program developed specifically for gastric cancer patients (PREP-GC) undergoing minimally invasive gastrectomy. Materials and Methods: Twenty-four patients treated surgically for early gastric cancer were enrolled in the PREP-GC. The exercise program comprised sessions of In-hospital Exercise (1 week), Home Exercise (1 week), and Fitness Improvement Exercise (8 weeks). Adherence and compliance to PREP-GC were evaluated. In addition, body composition, physical fitness, and QOL were assessed during the preoperative period, after the postoperative recovery (2 weeks after surgery), and upon completing the PREP-GC (10 weeks after surgery). Results: Of the 24 enrolled patients, 20 completed the study without any adverse events related to the PREP-GC. Adherence and compliance rates to the Fitness Improvement Exercise were 79.4% and 99.4%, respectively. Upon completing the PREP-GC, patients also exhibited restored cardiopulmonary function and muscular strength, with improved muscular endurance and flexibility (P<0.05). Compared to those in the preoperative period, no differences were found in symptom scale scores measured using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Core Quality of Life Questionnaire (QLQ-C30) and Quality of Life Questionnaire-Stomach Cancer-Specific Module (QLQ-STO22); however, higher scores for global health status and emotional functioning were observed after completing the PREP-GC (P<0.05). Conclusions: In gastric cancer patients undergoing minimally invasive gastrectomy, PREP-GC was found to be feasible and safe, with high adherence and compliance. Although randomized studies evaluating the benefits of exercise intervention during postoperative recovery are needed, surgeons should encourage patients to participate in systematic exercise intervention programs in the early postoperative period (Registered at the ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT01751880).

  • Aromatic compounds are widely used in the chemical, food, polymer, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries and are produced by mainly chemical synthesis using benzene, toluene, and xylene or by plant extraction methods. Due to many rising threats, including the depletion of fossil fuels, global warming, the strengthening of international environmental regulations, and the excessive harvesting of plant resources, the microbial production of aromatic compounds using renewable biomass is regarded as a promising alternative. By integrating metabolic engineering with synthetic and systems biology, artificial biosynthetic pathways have been reconstituted from L-tryptophan biosynthetic pathway in relevant microorganisms, such as Escherichia coli and Corynebacterium glutamicum, enabling the production of a variety of value-added aromatic compounds, such as 5-hydroxytryptophan, serotonin, melatonin, 7-chloro-L-tryptophan, 7-bromo-L-tryptophan, indigo, indirubin, indole-3-acetic acid, violacein, and dexoyviolacein. In this review, we summarize the characteristics, usage, and biosynthetic pathways of these aromatic compounds and highlight the latest metabolic engineering strategies for the microbial production of aromatic compounds and suitable solution strategies to overcome problems in increasing production titers. It is expected that strain development based on systems metabolic engineering and the optimization of media and bioprocesses using renewable biomass will enable the development of commercially viable technologies for the microbial production of many aromatic compounds.

  • It is a global trend to consider contaminated low-permeability zones as one of the primary management targets for the remediation of DNAPL contaminated sites. In addition, studies on the persistence caused by back diffusion of DNAPLs from low-permeability zones have been actively conducted worldwide. On the other hand, the studies for domestic groundwater contamination with the low-permeability zones are insufficient. Therefore, this study introduces the forward and back diffusions of DNAPL through low-permeability zones and suggests the importance of them by reviewing representative previous studies, especially on back diffusion and plume persistence. We proposed six diffusion scenarios and analytical solutions based on various boundary conditions of low-permeability zones. FI (forward diffusion into infinite domain) and BI (back diffusion form infinite domain) scenarios illustrate forward and back diffusion in which the depths of a low-permeability layer are assumed to be infinite. FFN (forward diffusion into finite domain with no flux boundary) and BFN (back diffusion from finite domain with no flux boundary) scenarios describe forward and back diffusion for a finite domain of a low-permeability layer with no flux boundary at the bottom. When the bottom of a low-permeability layer is considered as flux boundary, forward and back diffusion scenarios correspond to FFF (forward diffusion into finite domain with flux boundary) and BFF (back diffusion from finite domain with flux boundary). The scenarios and analytical solutions in this study may contribute to the determination of an efficient remediation method based on site characteristics such as a thickness of low-permeability zones or duration of contamination exposure.

  • In spite of economic slump of global IT market, China is showing growth of $25\%$ per a year. After opening economy, the economic growth of the country haven't flagged. Moreover, According to the economic plan of the President HuJinTao who took office in 2002, IT field has been developing quickly. Even though such development is enough to show off the ability of China in the world, it is also a fart that there are many side effects. Among them, the imbalance of development between the east and the west is disturbing the general Chinese development. So the government is making efforts to reduce the gap as a solution, 'Go West campaign.' While progressing the policy, the related method which restricted domestic demand market advance from 2000 is abolished. We also established a bridgehead for lauching to the west of China at the same line with other developed countries. Based ell such reality, we understands the general present state and policy of Chinese IT industrial and the opportunity for abolishing the related method which restricted domestic market advance to also obtain from 2000, and for our country to also advance to the western area in China by the start onboard equal to other advanced nations. The direction to which we have to go by investigating the situation of a western area is investigated.
