  • Established in May 2005, INNOCEAN Worldwide started as an affiliate marketing and communications company of the Hyundai Motor Group and grew into a top agency ranked no. 2 in the South Korean market within seven years. Currently, INNOCEAN Worldwide has become a global company, operating in sixteen countries through four regional headquarters, fifteen overseas subsidiaries, and seven branch offices with more than 1,100 employees. The company holds top clients from finance, electronics, telecommunications, food, retail, education and other various industries. The accomplishment of INNOCEAN Worldwide can be summarized by the following five key factors. The first factor is INNOCEAN Worldwide's strong and enduring passion and commitment to enter the global market and to build and strengthen its global network. The second factor is achieving successful localization through recruiting talented employees for its overseas branches directly from the local workforce, which enables the company to overcome language barriers, cultural differences, and creative gaps among different regional markets. Third is the company's effective implementation of the 'Global Resource Remix' strategy, which incorporates the distinctive competencies of each overseas operation as a global company standard. Fourth is the creation of the 'Discover System,' a global knowledge management system enabling overseas offices worldwide to share each other's accumulated knowledge and experiences. The fifth factor is the successful establishment of INNOCEAN Worldwide's unique Total Marketing Solution Service. Through this service, the company has offered integrated consulting services for strategic brand management to solve various marketing problems.   • This paper examines the brand strategies of competitive product issuing C/O company in choongnam. Today, the global brand is very important range. The ubiquity of global brands has become one of the defining features of modern life and one of the core function of modern marketing. Therefore, company was conducted several interesting characteristics as follows: company employing brand marketing were found to engage in independent market research. Also, they tend to export products whose levels of quality are as competitive as to those of competing products from industrialized countries. Thus, global consumers may react powerfully against the increasing ubiquity of global brands and their homogenized identities.

  • The effort for GSI based IT system consolidation has been continued due to the increase of the system and complication increase of system connection, mainly by the global company. Since successful example of GSI realization by part of developed company affect to Korea, global level IT system consolidation has been examined mainly by the domestic company that have great deal of overseas business. Although they have examined consolidation possibility mainly on R&D, finance, operation management part which is the base part of company management, there are limitation for consolidation realization because of the difference between regional business problem of huge cost needed for consolidation. To overcome these realization limitations, it is necessary to lead risk and cost reduction through stepwise part unity and decide Priority Evaluation Framework for Consolidation target and systematic consolidation strategy. For GSI realization, appropriate distributions of unification time according to target system are needed. In this study, based on easiness and usefulness of consolidation and connection between the targets, evaluation methodology for Priority Evaluation Framework of system consolidation has been developed. Priority Evaluation Framework has been decided by applying developed methodology to global production company of high tech industrial part. Through this methodology, companies can realize successful and stable GSI by investing global resources intensively by Priority Evaluation Framework of consolidation target system.

일본 중소기업의 글로벌전략과 검토 과제: 세계를 제패한 I.S.T 기업 사례 (Critical Review of Global Strategy in Japanese Small- and Medium-sized Companies: A Case of I.S.T Corporation that Dominated the Global Market)

  • In an intensively competitive global market, small-and medium-sized firms are puzzled about how to develop sustainable competitive advantages against global rivalries, thus leading satisfactory economic performance. However, despite the roles and contributions of such small-and medium-sized firms in the local community and national economies in Japan, little guidance has been offered to the practical issues related to their strategic behaviors toward global management. To fill this notable knowledge gap, this study aims to investigate the conditions in which how Japanese small-and medium-sized could dominates global market, which is one of key challenges in the literature of small business and entrepreneurship. To obtain better insights to this research area, this study undertakes an in-depth interview survey with I.S.T (Industrial Summit Technology) Corporation that shows off the highest global market share (40 per cent) with seamless polyimide tube product widely used in office automation equipment (e.g., copiers and printers). This method of survey is designed to deeply understand historical considerations about how I.S.T Corporation could dominate in the global market of such seamless polyimide tube product. Based on findings drawn from an interview, this study identifies five major factors enabling I.S.T Corporation to be a competitive global hidden company: vision sharing through founder's entrepreneurship, core competence, strategic network, risk management, and employee engagement. Specifically, to become a global hidden champion, sharing the vision motivating employees to partake in shaping company's future will be the first step on the road to global success through founder's entrepreneurship. However, in order to achieve such a vision, the importance of company's core competence cannot be overemphasized, which differentiates your customer solution with those of competitors. As such, a group of experts will be naturally formed and demonstrates your expertise in the global market, thereby building sustainable competitiveness. On the other hand, to maintain sustainable competitiveness, it is necessary to make up for the weaknesses small-and medium-sized firms suffer from competitive resources while strengthening their own strengths through strategic networks with external organizations. Here, every company has to understand the critical role of risk management, which is essential in this process of being global company so as not to lose your own strengths. Last but not least, do not forget the significant effects of employee engagement in firm performance. To enhance employees' engagement, a company has to create an ideal organization culture which fits into company's history and personality. In doing so, such organization culture can allow the vision and strategy to be implemented into detailed business tactics while facilitating employees to challenge the status quo by experimenting with creative ideas.

  • This research was conducted in order to present the strategies of implementing the logistics information system for effective logistics cost management with the case study of a leading global company. The strategy for effective logistics information system can be derived from the 3 different viewpoints, Firstly the effective global logistics management can be insured by means of the efforts of the reinforced total organization. Secondly from the process-oriented perspective, we should recognize the logistics process as the core factor of the competitive strategy and innovate the logistics process itself for the logistics cost reduction. Finally, the logistics cost will be effectively managed through establishing its logistics information strategy which maximizes the utilization of the information technologies. The case study of 'A' electronics company shows that its logistics management system provides the company with various visibilities about its logistics cost and the direct and indirect benefits over billions of wons per year as well. Therefore we can conclude that the research model provided in this research is validated. This study presents the concrete implementation strategies of the logistics information system and verifies the validity of the strategies by means of the case study of a leading company.

문화적 가치관에 따른 국제광고의 표준화, 현지화 광고의 효과 (The Effects in Advertising of Standardization and Localization of Global Enterprises from Culture Values)

  • While the existing research took approach method that uniformly divided the cultural difference between specific countries into individualism - collectivism in the dimension of comparative culture, this research defines the cultural sense of value of domestic university students and company employees in accordance with horizontalism-verticalism pattern within it to corroboratively define the diverse effects of advertisements of standardization and localization of global enterprises. Researching the difference of cultural sense of value owing to this generation of Korean university students and company employees, Korean university students showed prominent propensity of vertical-individualism value and company employees, propensity of horizontal-collectivism value. Researching comparatively the effect of advertisements for standardization and localization of global enterprises in connection with Korean university students and company employees, it turned out Korean university students prominently prefer localization advertisement in the TV advertisement of global enterprises and company employees, standardization advertisement. Especially, the difference between standardization advertisement and localization advertisement of university students and company employees was very remarkable in trademark attitude and advertisement information rather than advertisement attitude. With respect to model appearing in the advertisement, it turned out university students prefer localization advertisement where domestic models appear and company employees prefer standardization advertisement where foreign models appear.

  • The aim of this study is to propose the plausibility of Ship-repair industry brand in the global market. It has been argued that it is necessary to secure the identity of company because of the expansion of international market in the age of globalization. Authors of this paper have considered that the brand is a solution for global ship-repair industry's development in Busan region with focusing on the 5 elements (Salience, Imagery, Performance, Feeling, and Judgments) of Keller's brand equity block except Resonance. As a result, we presented the roles of company for securing the brand equity in ship-repair industry comparing with the elements of Keller's brand equity block. and implied the plausibility of global ship-repair industry's development. Especially, Securing the licences and certifications related to ship-repair industry is very important thing about the brand equity.

Globalizing the MEDIHEAL Brand: L&P Cosmetic's Collaboration with BTS

  • L&P Cosmetic, the leading company selling mask packs on the global market, produces MEDIHEAL, the number-one best-selling mask pack brand in Korea and the best-selling imported mask pack brand in China (2017). The company pioneered the premium market for mask packs through its launch of premium mask packs in 2009, and has subsequently achieved outstanding success in Korea and China. Three key factors have contributed to the success of L&P Cosmetic: product leadership with R&D capability, strategic marketing programs tailored for each market segment, and operational excellence focusing on strategic outsourcing and partnership management. Nonetheless, globalization beyond the Chinese market remains a major challenge for the potential of L&P Cosmetic. The company has embarked upon a collaboration with BTS, the world's top K-pop stars, as an optimally effective way to achieve its goals and a highly efficient strategy to manage the risks of globalization. The global branding collaboration project with BTS has succeeded in generating primary demand for mask packs on the global market, spreading brand awareness of MEDIHEAL, and establishing global channel networks. L&P Cosmetic will continue to grow worldwide on the basis of this outstanding performance.

글로벌 해운회사의 공컨테이너 재배치 최적화 (Optimizing Empty Container Repositioning at a Global Maritime Company)

  • H maritime company in Korea had a long history of difficulty in obtaining enough empty containers to transport its commodities. Despite efforts to resolve the problem, the repositioning of empty containers between depots was still planned manually, which consumed much worker time. To automate the generation of reposition plans, we developed a planning system to optimize the company's reposition of empty containers between global depots with a linear programming model functioning as a key decision engine in the system. The model determines the route, volume and mode of transportation for repositioning empty containers from depots with surplus containers to those requiring containers, as well as the empty space of ships generated from the unloading or loading of full and empty containers. The system has been in operation in the company's global network since March 2008.

국제물류업체의 정보기술(Information Technology) 수용에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on Factors Affecting the Implementation of Information Technology in Korean Global Logistics Companies)

  • This paper examined the factors affecting the implementation of information technology in Korean Global Logistics Companies. Nowadays, the spread of electronic commerce using internet demands a large changes doing business with company to company and give that company a change to recognize logistics. To support logistics activity, all kinds of companies are using the computer and are recognized that the efficient using of Cyber Logistics Information will mainly play a roll to strength the companies competition power. We gathered detailed data on our sample companies mainly from publicly available sources : Korea International Freight Forwarder Association (KIFFA), and companies' web sites. A structured questionnaire was used to collect information about: (1) the company (2) To investigate the factors of the three contexts described above on korean Global Logistics companies's electronic trade adoption and implementation. (3) Usage level of electronic logistics. Most of the approximately 70 questions enumerated in the questionnaire were open-ended, which was consistent with our primary objective of developing a conceptual framework that was informed by empirical evidence. This study suggests that top management support and influential power are main factors for the Korean Global Logistics Companies.
