Ganoderma lucidum의 생육에 미치는 홍삼박의 영향 (Effect of ginseng residue on the growth of Ganoderma lucidum)

  • 홍삼제품 제조 과정중의 부산물인 홍삼박의 활용 가능성을 조사하기 위하여 여러 가지 담자균의 배양에 홍삼박 추출물을 첨가하여 배양한 후 균체 증식량, 단백질 및 amino acid함량 등을 조사하였으며 그 결과를 보고하는 바이다. 수집 된 담자균 중 G. lucidum과 P. ostreatus가 액체배양에서 균체증식이 양호한 균주로 선발되었으며, 홍삼박 추출물을 0.2% 첨가하였을 때 균체증식량이 가장 많았으며 단백질 함량은 0.5% 첨가하였을 때 l-3%가 증가하였다. Amino acid함량은 인삼박 추출물을 0.2% 첨가하였을 때는 거의 변화가 없었으나 0.5% 첨가하였을 때에는 G. lucidum, P. ostreatus 모두 상당히 증가하였으며 그 증가폭 중 cysteine이 가장 컸다.

Biotransformation of Ginseng Extract to Cytotoxic Compound K and Ginsenoside $Rh_2$ by Human Intestinal Bacteria

  • When saponin extracts of dried ginseng and red ginseng were anaerobically incubated with human intestinal microflora, these extracts were metabolized to compound K and ginsenoside $Rh_2$, respectively. However, when these extracts were incubated with commercial lactic acid bacteria, these did not metabolize these ginsenosides to compound K or ginsenoside $Rh_2$. Among some intestinal bacteria isolated from human feces, Bacteroides C-35 and C-36 transformed these saponin extracts to compound K and ginsenoside $Rh_2$, respectively. These bacteria also transformed water extracts of dried ginseng and red ginseng to compound K and ginsenoside $Rh_2$, respectively, similarly with that of the saponin extracts. Among transformed ginsenosides, compound K and 20(S)-ginsenoside $Rh_2$ exhibited the most potent cyotoxicity against tumor cells.

GAP 인증인삼 현황과 4P 전략 (Situations of GAP certified ginseng and 4P's strategies)

  • Ginseng in Korea has not only the big production value but also till a good reputation from overseas in the name of 'Korea Ginseng'. Having spread rapidly nationwide from 2000 year, its production keeps on increasing but its consumption becomes lazy and its price is also falling down because of comsumer's concern about mainly overusing pesticide for ginseng. In order to cope with this problem, the government introduced the GAP certification system to ginseng in 2006 to reflect consumer's needs for food safety. This system will be a good opportunity to promote ginseng consumption dramatically. In this aspect it is very important to know how well this system is established and how ginseng farmers build marketing strategies to draw new wind in the market. This study was carried out to look over the GAP certified ginseng system and show its marketing strategies using 4P's(product, place, promotion and price). The main results are as follows. GAP ginseng system currently has some weaknesses such as lack of systematic certification management and after-service, nonrealistic certification fee and poor linkage from production to consumption. In the marketing mix strategies, product strategy suggests that the most desirable appearance be transplanted ginseng filled with branch roots and 4 to 5 year-ginseng, and it is necessary to choose multi-brand strategy divided for present into for self-sufficiency and family brand strategy by use if its brand enlarges to processed products in the future. In the place strategy, 3 stages like 'producer group' - 'GAP certified facility' - 'sales shop' are based as the physical marketing channel according to traceability, and connected with giant retail market and environment friendly stand, and if its sales volume enlarges, it should be considered the GAP ginseng specialized marketplace which is a type of chain store. In the promotion strategy, the promotion of government level is necessary at first and producer alliances require the promotion targeting at the group of women under 40 with differentiation from price, quality, and safety. In the price strategy, the early stage-high price strategy which sets 20~25% higher for self-sufficiency and 30~35% for present is desirable.

흑삼과 홍삼의 인삼 프로사포게닌 성분 비교 (The Comparison of Ginseng Prosapogenin Composition and Contents in Red and Black Ginseng)

  • The objective of this study is to provide basic information for developing a high-value ginseng product using ginseng saponin and prosapogenin. In order to achieve the proposed objective ginsenoside compositions of Black (BG) and Red (RG) ginseng extract with 95% ethyl alcohol were examined by means of HPLC. The crude saponin and ginsenoside composition of processed ginseng products were analyzed and compared, with BG topping the list with a crude saponin content of 7.53%, followed by RG (5.29%). Ginseng prosapogenin (ginsenosides $Rg_2$, $Rg_3$, $Rg_5$, $Rg_6$, $Rh_1$, $Rh_4$, $Rk_1$, $Rk_3$, $F_1$ and $F_4$) in BG was found to be contained almost 2.6 times as much as that in RG. Ginsenosides $Rg_3$, $Rg_5$, $Rk_1$, $Rh_4$ and $F_4$ in BG in particular were found to be almost 3 times as much as those in RG. $Rg_6$ and $Rk_3$ in BG were also found to be almost 4 times as much as those in RG.

흑삼의 인삼 사포닌 분석 (Analysis of Ginsenosides of Black Ginseng)

  • The objective of this study is to provide the basic information for developing a high-value ginseng product using ginseng saponin and prosapogenin. In order to achieve such aim, Ginsenoside compositions of black ginseng (BG) extracts with various solvent conditions were examined by HPLC. The total saponin and the prosapogenin content of 95$\%$ ethyl alcohol extract were higher than that of the either 50$\%$ ethyl alcohol extract or distilled water extract. As a result, the order of the total saponin and the prosapogenin content was 1) 95$\%$ ethyl alcohol,2) 50$\%$ ethyl alcohol,3) the first and second mixture of 95$\%$ ethyl alcohol, distilled water, and 4) distilled water extract. In the case of fine black ginseng (FBG), the first and second mixture extracts of 95$\%$ ethyl alcohol and distilled water were the highest. In addition, the ratio of the protopanaxadiol group and the protopanaxatriol group (PD/PT) showed that the ratio of BG ranged from 0.304 to 0.601, while the ratio of FBG ranged from 1.166 to 1.657.

복합운동과 홍삼복합제의 투여가 20대 비만여성의 혈중 지질 및 체구성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Red Ginseng Product and Combined Exercise on Blood Lipids and Body Composition of Obese Women in Their Twenties)

  • 본 연구에서 12주간의 홍삼복합제 투여와 복합운동이 20대 비만 여성의 혈중 지질 및 체구성 성분의 변화에 미치는 영향을 연구 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 체중은 12주 후, 대조군의 증가에 비해 홍삼복합제투여군, 홍삼·운동군이 유의하게 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 체지방율은 12주 후, 대조군에 비해 홍삼복합제투여군, 홍삼 운동군이 유의하게 감소한 것으로 나타났다. TC는, 다른 두 집단이 12주에 걸쳐 꾸준히 증가한 것에 비해 홍삼·운동군은 지속적인 감소현상을 보여 대조적인 경향을 보였다. HDL-C은 12주 후 대조군과 홍삼·운동군은 소폭 감소한 반면, 홍삼복합제투여군은 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. LDL-C은 대조군과 흥삼복합제투여군이 8주에서 12주 사이 증가하는 양상을 보이는 반면 홍삼·운동군은 거의 변화를 하지 않아 대조적인 경향을 보였으며, 반복측정분산분석의 결과도 통계적으로 유의성은 없었다. TG는 다른 두 집단이 12주 동안 거의 변화가 없었던 반면에 홍삼복합제투여군은 꾸준한 감소를 하였으나 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았다. 이상의 결론으로 보아서 12주간의 실험 결과는 홍삼복합제투여와 홍삼·운동의 복합 처치가 체중, 체지방 감소에 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히, total cholesterol, HDL-C, TG 등을 포함한 혈중 지질 농도의 개선에 관련하여 유리한 변화를 유도할 수 있음을 보여주었다.

인삼농축크림 장기사용자의 동서의학적 피부 특성 고찰 (Evaluation of Effect of Long Period Usage of Concentrated Ginseng Cream Using Eastern and Western Medicine Techniques)

  • 본 연구의 목표는 한의학을 기초로 한 새로운 평가 방법을 이용하여 한방화장품의 효과를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 한의학에서는 얼굴과 피부에 나타나는 현상을 분석하는 것이 환자의 질병과 체질을 예측하는 중요한 방법이었다. 내부 장기의 상태를 얼굴에 발현되는 증상과 피부를 통해 진단하는 방법을 한의학의 진단체계에서는 '망진(望診)'이라 한다. 이에 저자들은 지난 5년간 인삼농축크림을 사용한 피검자군 여성 11명과 대조군 여성 11명을 대상으로 한의사 3인의 망진 평가와 비침습적인 피부 실측 과정(non-invasive skin bio-engineering)을 병행하여 두 그룹 간의 피부 상태를 비교하여 유의한 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하는 바이다. 총 17항목의 망진 평가에서는 7개 항목에서 인삼농축크림 장기사용군이 대조군에 비하여 통계적으로 유의하게 우수한 결과를 보였으며 7가지 피부 측정항목에서는 유분, 거칠기, 색소침착 면적과 눈가 주름 깊이에서 인삼농축크림 장기사용군이 대조군에 비해 우수한 결과를 보였다. 본 실험을 통해 인삼농축크림의 장기사용이 피부에 긍정적인 영향을 줌을 확인하였으며, 또한 한의학적인 진단법과 현대기기를 이용한 피부 계측 방법을 융합하여 한방화장품의 특성을 살린 신규 평가 방법을 제안하고자 하였다.

Current Status of Korean Ginseng Products and Trends in Enhanced Functional Ginseng Products

  • The abolishment of the red ginseng monopoly act by the Korean government in 1996 resulted in a drastic change in the Korean ginseng industry, leading to a significant increase in the market size and consumption of ginseng products. Red ginseng is most popular type, with approximately 74% of harvested fresh ginseng being processed into various red ginseng products. Since 1997, there has been a substantial increase in the cultivation of ginseng for production of red ginseng, which, in turn, has contributed to the proliferation of ginseng processing companies. To investigate the products of ginseng manufacturing businesses, we select 200 companies primarily engaged in ginseng processing or specializing solely in ginseng. Our survey on the status of ginseng industry covered 8 different categories. 1) Root ginseng: There were 66 companies involved in manufacturing red ginseng root, accounting for 33.0% of all surveyed companies. This was followed by black ginseng root with 36 companies (18.0%) and red ginseng fine roots with 22 companies (11%). 2) Red ginseng products: A total of 144 companies were involved in manufacturing red ginseng pouches, making it the most common product category. This was closely followed by 142 companies producing pure(100%) red ginseng extract concentrate. 3) Fermented red ginseng products: Companies producing fermented red ginseng extract concentrate products were the most numerous, totaling 26. Following this, companies producing fermented red ginseng stick and pouch products were next in line. 4) Ginseng products: There were 15 companies involved in the production of ginseng products, with the majority focusing on ginseng tea. 5) Black ginseng products: Companies producing black ginseng extract concentrate were the most numerous, with 31 companies, followed by 26 companies producing black ginseng extract pouches. 6) Taegeuk ginseng products: Only 5 companies were involved in the production of taegeuk ginseng products. 7) Fermented black ginseng, and 8) Ginseng berry products: These categories are manufactured by less than 5 companies each. However, the variety in ginseng berry products suggests the potential for future growth. In the 2000s, a trend emerged with the development of new processed products aimed at enhancing the functional components of red ginseng, and these products have captured the attention of consumers. However, this study primarily focuses on black ginseng, fermented red ginseng/fermented black ginseng, and ginseng berry products as they have exerted a significant influence on the overall ginseng industry.

서울지역 유통 건강기능식품의 당 및 인공감미료 함량 (Total Sugar and Artificial Sweetener Contents of Health Functional Foods in Seoul)

  • 서울시 유통 건강기능식품 중 츄어블제품 66건과 인삼홍삼제품 60건을 수거하여 분석하였다. 시료 전체의 1일 섭취량당 당함량 평균은 1.95 g이었고 범위는 N.D. ~ 12.61 g 이었다. 제품 유형별로는 츄어블 제품의 평균은 1.26 g 이었고 범위는 N.D. ~ 10.39 g이었다. 인삼홍삼제품의 평균은 2.70 g이었고 범위는 N.D. ~ 12.61 g이었다. 츄어블제품중 1일 섭취량당 당함량은 어린이용 제품이 평균 2.10 g으로 가장 높았고 영양소제품은 평균 1.43 g, 기능성원료 제품은 평균 0.35 g이였다. 어린이용 제품은 1일 섭취량당 당함량이 1.03 g ~ 5.33 g, 영양소 제품은 N.D. ~ 10.39 g, 기능성원료 제품은 N.D. ~ 2.61 g의 범위를 보였다. 인삼홍삼제품중 1일 섭취량 당 당함량은 액상 제품이 평균 4.25 g으로 가장 높았고 농축액 제품은 평균 1.51 g, 분말제품은 평균 1.49 g이었다. 액상 제품의 1일 섭취량당 당함량의 범위는 N.D. ~ 10.80 g, 농축액 제품의 범위는 N.D. ~ 12.61 g, 분말제품의 범위는 0.06 g ~ 5.64 g의 분포를 보였다. 인공감미료를 분석한 결과 3건에서 인공감미료가 검출되었다. 인삼홍삼제품에서는 인공감미료가 검출되지 않았으며 츄어블제품 중 영양소 제품 2건과 기능성원료 제품 1건에서 검출되었다. 검출된 인공감미료는 아스파탐으로 영양소 제품에서 3.09 g/kg, 기능성원료 제품에서 1.09 g/kg 검출되었고 3건 모두 허용량 이내였다.

홍삼에 분리한 Aspergillus sp.의 동정 및 식품보존료가 균의 성장에 미치는 영향 (Identification of Aspergillus sp. Isolated from Red-Ginseng and Effect of Preservative on Its Growth)

  • One kind of fungus was isolated and identified from comtaminated red-ginseng in order to give fundermental data for improving hygienic quality of ginseng product. The isolated strain was identified as Aspergillus sp. Hyphae of the strain had septum structrue. The strain showed vesicle and sterigmata structure which were typical characteristics of Aspergillus species. The growth of the strain was slightly inhibited by sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate at a concentration of 0.05%. The strain showed no growth at 4.0% potassium sorbate. The isolated stain Aspergillus sp. showed no significant degradation in the presence of red-ginseng saponins.
